Are these kinds of phones really that dumb? My mobile phone lasts a whole month on a single charge, while my smartphone needs to be charged every day. What’s more, it’s easy to replace the battery in the mobile phone and use it for another month, whereas the battery in most smartphones can’t be replaced. If I need to go hunting or fishing for a week or few weeks, with a smartphone I risk being left without a signal like a dumb. Doesn’t that make a smartphone dumb?

The concept of free and open-source software is an excellent one, but it falls apart when you consider that programmers are human beings who regularly want to earn money and spend money, and have a roof under head and a wife with kids in the bed.

And without financial support, development proceeds slowly; for example, GoldenDict is currently at version 1.0.1 from 2010-12-03 At least, this is the latest version with source code that I could find.

I made donations to the author of this program, but I haven't seen any progress. This program still doesn't support the Devanagari script.
