Key thing is what it means to 'take over' or 'take control.'
There is nothing wrong with control. Critical thing is what kind of control and the motive behind it. There is nothing wrong with seeking to create protocols that promote smooth running, appropriate notables, and the prompt collecting of Q drops. There is nothing wrong with coordinating bakes so that there is 24/7 coverage. And there is nothing wrong with trying to protect the dough to ensure continuity.
There IS something wrong in exercising control for personal gain, personal 'glory' or in the service of those who oppose the goals listed at the top of each bread. Shills are always trying to exploit that understanding for their own purposes. Biggest reason shill baker was able to succeed this time was that he got the support of /qr/ BO - and therefore a certain form of legitimacy (at least at the outset).
It's amazing that bakers were able to do as well as they did up to that point, given such a hostile mgmt. Nothing made bakers give up - not captchas, not FJ takeover, not deplatforming, not FJ inaction after replatforming. Bakers worked around all these problems. But the combo of a psychopathic shill baker teaming up the FJ - that was one obstacle too many.
As i see it, FJ is the problem. As long as FJ controls /qr/, only bakers who suck up will have his support. Those who don't will be called names and blamed for any bad thing that happens. Not just bakers but all anons. So what to do? Work elsewhere.
The key thing now: to have a place to stand, from which to fight on. A place we can dig/meme/pray - and get the word out.
MNR is that place. Also serves as a reminder to visting anons what /qr/ used to be. So they do not forget - and (hopefully) more forcefully demand something better.
My stance: to necessarily support /qr/for long as Q continues to post there. But only as a digger, in order to get the word out. Not as a baker. Not so long as there is no serious challenge to the grossly false and disgusting accusations made against bakers whose only sin was trying to keep the place open 24/7.

From the CATALOG, you can easily get into threads
- There are two kinds of threads: GENERAL and SUBJECT threads.
- The General (main) thread is the one most newcomers seek.
- All the General threads have a blue Punisher image - just like the one in this thread.

- By custom, we call each thread a BREAD and the anon who manages (bakes) it a BAKER.

Board Roles
Board Owner - (BO) owns the board and has control of its settings. BOs may be either handsoff or participatory. MNR Board OwnerTom is a baker and active participant.
Board Volunteer(s) - (BV) can do many of the same function as BO (edit posts, delete illegal posts or images)
Reporter(s) - has limited power to change anything but can sign in as staff - which turns out to have value when the board cannot be accessed via Clearnet, see >>42059.
Baker(s) - copypaste's ("copy pasta's") the old dough, coordinates the bake, collect notables, updates the dough, bakes the bread, and posts the new dough at the start of next bread. Generally works with staff and non-baking anons to ensure the board functions smoothly.
Note-takers - collect notable posts from anons for bakers, especially during nighttime and slow shifts.
Diggers, specialized diggers (planefags, boatfags, etc.), memers, prayers, lurqers - all of us play our roles, everyone on this board has a contribution to make.

Who's Who on an Anon Board?
On an anonymous board, how to do convo with other users?
Thru UIDs - Unique IDentifyers.
These are the numbers at the top of each post that look like this: ID: 55364f CAP 1
If you have COLORED ID's turned on, they look more distinctive - which really helps.
To turn it on, go to the Options menu (upper right hand of screen) and select Color IDs. CAP 2
Green YOUs - these show when YOU are making a post or receiving a response. Helps attract the eye so you don't miss returned messages. CAP 3
You can also identify all the posts by one user by selecting and HOLDING the UID. CAP 4
You can also search for any string (include an UID number) with F3 or Control-F. CAP 5

Posting Tips for Digs, Articles, Tweets, Videos
- ARTICLES: include the title, date, and source - text and images add interest. CAP 1
- TWEETS: include entire tweet & screenshot if possible (good to include the text not just the cap if not phonefagging CAP 2
- VIDS: include the title, length, and at least a short description (baker usually will not watch vids wo/any description unless the content is obvious & valued) CAP 3
- DIGS: include main idea or short description along with the details. If it's an anon analysis, try to include sauce to support your ideas or links to past diggs. CAP 4
Generally:
- Don't forget the sauce (source info) including a DATE
- Usered textor bold (etc) to highight titles and key ideas

Nine Tips for Note-taking on MNR
1-13-2021
GENERALLY
1. Use plain text file for notables.
Avoid Word or other word processors, plain text is better for chan markup.
2. Post notes at least 3 to 4 times during the bread, including a semi-final @170 and final @185+.
Don't stick anything iffy in at the last moment, make sure anons can vet it first.
3. Make notables easy to find with RED TEXT or BOLD.
Also tag to DOUGH post.
DECIDING WHAT TO NOTABLE
4. On MNR, most newsy posts are notable (relevant and sauce)
But it's easy to miss things like anon analyses or stuff wo/formatting - eyez on.
5. For noms wo/a description (usually anon diagrams, etc.), ask for one.
It's anons' responsibility to summarize a main point.'
6. For biased or wordy MSM headlines, feel free to do 'damage control'
If necessary, edit the title to be more neutral (not insulting) or shorter if wordy (or add important details if missing).
7. Look for special reports: planefags, boatfags, Resignations in the News, etc.
Anons seldom nom these, except for RA's stuff if they don't see it in Notes.
8. If there is too much news & bred is fast…
…focus mainly on nommed posts, breaking news (if verified), news re Q concerns (CP, etc.).
Not a problem til now, but bread speeds are increasing - good to know what's priority.
9. Check for two things: dates and whether it's been notabled (in qresear.ch).
Easy during slow breads, hard during fast ones. Dates take priority. But if you forget, anons or shills will always let you know.

Praying - No need to tell anons how to pray. But a little heavenly inspiration never hurts. CAP 3
Other ideas:

How to navigate to a thread where you can post
In the first version of this thread, a perceptive anon pointed out that many newfags get confused about where to post.
Please: Do NOT post in the Catalog by selecting Create a Thread.
Instead, go to an existing thread first - usually the General thread (see second CAP here for an example: >>51805.)
Here's the whole process.
Getting from a browser to the General thread:
1. Go to the catalog for the board you are accessing - in this case, /midnightriders/, by entering "8kun.top/midnightriders/catalog.html"
2. Select the open General thread (see >>51805, second CAP).
3. Once in the thread, enter text in the New Reply box at the top and select New Reply - post will appear on screen.

Advantages:
- Giving credit where credit is due.
