Tokimeki Tonight is a 34-episode hidden gem 1982 anime manga adaptation of the shoujo genre with supernatural elements. It features a love triangle, a very nice art style that's a product of its time, an extremely cute protagonist girl, and a top-tier ara mother among other things.

It's famous for its lewd ending song, and the manga itself has never been translated, although scans are available.

Recently, raws from Netflix Japan have popped up, and they're not too far behind a Discotek Blu-Ray on image quality. That's a godsend, specially because the previous releases of this series look terrible.

We're in the process of retiming and correcting existing subtitles for this series.

The subtitles are a bit of a mess and the whole story on them is not completely clear, it appears the series was dropped by Saitei on episode 27, but a group called Orphan seems to have completed the remaining episodes. Saitei also burned in their subtitles, which is why an user named Kuro remade them in ASS.

At this very moment, 5 episodes have been completed, and every episode has had the minimum required style/filename/resolution/opening fixes required applied. If you want to join in, read the README.txt file inside the tarball, it contains instructions and a list of work needed, aswell as the subtitles being worked on. New versions of this tar file will be posted further into the thread as they come up.

I have watched tons of anime that was supposed to scare me but only a couple have actually managed to do it. I honestly cant think of any horror that is actually scary besides Higurashi When They Cry and Shiki. I did like Malice@Doll too (while it is original) but that wasnt that scary and (thanks to it being an early 3d anime), it looks terribly dated. What seems to be "scary" according to most of the industries eyes is:

Any anime where the MC is a scrawny brat between 14 and 16 years old that looks even vaguely like something from pic related. I used to tolerate them at some extent but once I realized how predominant they are I feel nothing but disgust when I spot one of them in some promotional art. I know the main focus of anime is escapism, but why am I forced to self-insert myself into a guy that is just as pathetic(if not worse) as my real self?

First thing, make sure your attitude is correct. You aren't going to succeed if you go into it believing that it's impossible. Spend some time visualizing your end result in first-person view to ingrain into your subconscious that this is something that can exist in reality.

After that, it's basically just feeling that she is real and there with you. Do this passively, not actively; ie, do not try to "build" her with your consciousness, just relax, know that she's there, and let the sense impressions manifest of their own accord. It's probably best to start with the basic feeling that someone else is in the room with you, this is easiest to crystallize in my experience. Again, the key is to let it happen rather than try to make it happen.

Because for manga you generally need two-page view. So unless you got hardware to support that, which is two tablets stitched together. Good luck. There's only a handful of mango worth a damn anyway (10% of them being full color so I wouldn't even dare suggest to get an ereader or two for them). So just read them on your PC or TV or something.

I generally just wait for the higher quality scans on NYAA.

Challenge Viewer > CDisplay in my experience. Though this is from years ago when I last used either as reading on PC with 2page view trumps any shitty app. I use Honeyview on PC OP. The only feature I find it lacking is consistent double-view pagezoom. Like a 100% double-page zoom would be nice. Why CDisplay?

tachiyomi works fine for me. i also have a script that downloads already finished mangos from mangadex and zips them up in volumes which i then read on my ereader. for latest chapters tachiyomi is absolutely perfect.

A silent voice, Whisper of the heart, The girl that leapt through time. Those are also kinda corny romantic movies with pretty visuals.Shinkais other movies are all on the same vein, try Garden of Words, is probably his best one.

Also try Tokyo Godparents, same vibe but not quite a romantic comedy. Just a really pretty feelgood film thats insanely well directed.

Is Darwin's Game an Isekai? This is the first I've sat through in some time. I usually hate anything that resembles it, but for some reason, this has been tolerable. The premise is just as tacky as Isekai, but at least the "game" and it's rules remains in the real world.

I rarely ever see this masterpiece mentioned, so I need to throw out the summary real quick.

In this Isekai, a kid named Shuzo "Shu" Matsutani comes across a water deity named Lala Ru from another world on top of an Industrial Chimney. They both immediately get attacked and pulled back to her planet (or possibly earth in a very far future), and he discovers that she tried running away because her world is one big Mad-Max desert completely deprived of water after some catastrophic event rendered it barely habitable (and everybody wants a piece of her because of it). He'll have to face months of learning to face greedy dictators, familiar faces, giant floating LED Lamps, and the tremendous horrors kids in Somalia face every day, while Lala Ru slowly learns to feel empathetic for humans again after they've been literally using her up dry for eons.

It's as every-bit as awesome sounding as it looks. I'm just looking for your opinions on this "one-of-a-kind" flare of sci-fi (with a slight pinch of "magic") goodness.

It's pretty interesting to watch once you get past the ridiculous premise, and the poorly done romance.

Speaking of which, I'd be interested if they pulled of a lot more reverse-isekai's.

Like an Elf who gets pulled into Iceland, and immediately becomes a Citizen because they have a real law there that says so (look it up, I'm not kidding).

Or a friendly rebellious Leprechaun who decides to finally leave his underground borough to "the forbidden side", and receives the biggest culture shock when he finds Modern Ireland is nothing like what it was 300 years ago (before it was forbidden to go out, and hand away shoes every full moon). The entire reason they shut themselves out could be the fear that the "Stealers Talún Inbred ón taobh eile den Mhuir" would execute them in the name of god, and take their gold or something.

Or maybe one of those Strong Warrior Dwarves who somehow ends up sent to the future (From whence it was just different enough to be considered a different world. The kind that can be used for Planet of the Apes parodies.) to the Modern-day Balkans where he ends up finding out that the world ain't so different 500 years in the future (considering he's sent to about a decade after the war collapsed most of the economy). A story about learning to appreciate the simple in life, and what not...

But I'm just throwing out free ideas because I'm bored as all hell...
