the developing parties seem to be at odds with themselves, not enough resources vested in it because reviving a dead ip while almost nobody originally involved with it works at bungie anymore might spell disaster for developers and investors alike, ironically having no faith in the project diverts the resources it needs to become something good.

There's great vision and tonality, I myself like the hyperfuture aesthetic and atmosphere, I unironically enjoy them looking like cyber clowns and the music is just GOOD, it feels like the halo days, or dare I say, the marathon days, but you can tell that they don't really know what to do with any of it, they seem to be trying to build a world of hostility, mistery and wonder for the great and indescipherable otherworldly unknown, but you can tell they themselves don't even know what the fuck lies behind that curtain, they are just building castles in the sky with a group of mismatched developers that I just can tell, want to turn this game into their own retarded gay project, "cyberpunk two", "apex but b e t t e r", or some shit like that.

There's no story out yet and if this doesn't fail at launch you will see a story pumped in in content drip waves, one or two seasons of genuinely interesting but scarce worldbuilding, maybe namedrops here and there, the mjolnir, durandal, pfhor, compilers (already in trailers so they WILL be the next wave of NPC pve enemies), but then,then, a robot will turn out to be queer or some dumb shit like what happened in destiny.

I believe they might be making this game for an audience that simply doesn't exist, they clearly want to captivate zoomers and redditos by making the thing revolve around extraction and androgynous future shit, but they also want to dickride boomers and millenials that know about this from the original works and know the lore could be great if done correctly, they don't understand that both audiences are often times mutually exclusive.

I don’t know if you remember, but there was a really popular game back then called *Whack-a-Mole*. You remember it, right? It was like the next big thing after the “Catch Me” challenge. In *Whack-a-Mole*, moles would pop out of random holes and you had to hit them with a hammer to score points.

Honestly, I used to love that game. But nowadays, with work and life keeping us all so busy, there’s just no time for that kind of fun anymore. So I figured, why not try to find something similar on the Play Store? Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any game that truly captured the experience.

That’s when I turned to Google and searched for an online version. There were tons of websites, but one that really caught my eye was [Player One](https://www.player1.win/). The best part? You can actually *play to earn*! You can challenge other players, participate in tournaments, and even win real money. Sure, the competitive aspect was fun—but for me, it mostly brought back a flood of nostalgic memories.

Best game is Beyond all Reason, for sure.

Its a free open source massive RTS game with multiplayer feature where up to 40v40 players can play in real time. It runs on linux natively (and windows too).

It's definitely not the most overrated game of all time, but some of your points are very valid.

In games like CT, the mechanics are completely meaningless and almost impossible to engage with because of how braindead easy the difficulty is.

Could not care less about if the characters are good or not, story and "character development" are the most overrated aspects of the genre, and are completely meaningless to the gameplay experience. But, you are right, that the gameplay experience is compromised because of a lack of any resistance at all.

There are some cool features like exploration of different worlds being effected by what you've done in the past. Overall, it's one of the most amazing aesthetic experiences of all time, but the actual act of playing it is somewhat meaningless.

It is worth experiencing just for the amazing audio visual experience. It is overrated, but there are some games that are just as guilty of where CT falls short and are yet hailed as the greatest game of all time (OoT and SoTN come to mind.)

There's plenty of side shit in this game. The entire opening of the game can be extended by an hour by fucking around with the carnival. There's multiple time travel side stories. Different endings. And, several secret dungeons.

just do patrols. I leveled three chars to 60 in a day. but that wont get you all the gear, ships and dil for upgrading. plus all the real good stuff is pay walled behind packs that launch three times a year.
