I was looking for modern Shakespeare adaptations and came across this Bollywood movie called Haider (Hamlet). It's set in the 1990s and the backdrop is Kashmir conflicts.

Apparently the guy who made this has made 2 other Shakespeare adaptations (Macbeth and Othello) too. This was really good though. Not Kurosawa, but pretty good.
