I'm a week late but I finally watched it. Had some goofball moments that reminded me of Moonrunners (1975, it was proto-Dukes of Hazzard) bit this one is much better. Also the ending was as good as it could have been, if a bit muted in comparison with later, more bombastic productions.
The sound design along the movie isn't the best but it's par for the course for a B feature of the era.
There were some noticeable continuity mistakes relating to the car's damage (the most conspicuous being the headlights with the taped crosses in some of the first scenes) but unless you're a plebbitor it's not something that ruins the experience.
It was hard to badgewhores that a conscious man in a car with the windows open would drown to death but I'm willing to suspend disbelief and attribute it to the impact breaking his arms.
All in all, would recommend but only to vintage movie aficionados.
