I like Malibu Express a lot, and I think the films are very solid up till Savage Beach.
While not as glorious as Hard Ticker to Hawaii, I think the rest are better and more enjoyable than most recent action films. The look of the films he made in the 1980s just have that extra appeal to me. Hard Ticket to Hawaii brought everything together perfectly; it is undeniably his magnum opus.
I will say that his fascination with miniature airplanes and remote controlled cars could have been reined it at times. Arlene could have tardwrangled him on that point.
Pat Morita plays the villain in Do or Die, and R. J. Moore, the son of Bond actor Roger Moore, plays the villain in Fit to Kill.
Not yet seen his 1973 film Stacey!. Heard it is a lot like Malibu Express but with a woman as the protagonist. He was working on another film by the time he died, and there is some artwork for a comic book floating around out there.
