NEW DELHI (AP) — India’s government on Wednesday approved an ordinance to implement a top court ruling striking down the Muslim practice that allows men to instantly divorce.
The government decision came after it failed to get approval from Parliament a year after the court ruled that the practice of allowing men to divorce by simply uttering the Arabic word for divorce — “talaq” — three times violated the constitutional rights of Muslim women.
Most of the 170 million Muslims in India are Sunnis governed by the Muslim Personal Law for family matters and disputes. The laws include allowing the practice, known as “triple talaq,” whereby men can divorce by simply saying the word three times — and not necessarily consecutively, but at any time, and by any medium, including telephone, text message or social media post.
The government will have another six months to get Parliament’s approval for the ordinance to become law. But in the meantime, those who violate it can be prosecuted under the ordinance.
Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that nearly 22 countries, including neighboring Pakistan and Bangladesh, have banned the practice and appealed to the opposition to approve the Muslim Women Protection of Rights on Marriage Bill.
“The issue of triple talaq has continued unabated,” Prasad told a news conference, adding that the government had recorded 201 such divorces since the Supreme Court struck down the law last year.
“In a secular country like India,” Prasad said, “gender justice was given the complete go-by.”
India’s Muslim Law Board had told the court that while they considered the practice wrong, they opposed any court intervention and asked that the matter be left to the community. But several progressive Muslim activists decried the law board’s position.
After the Supreme Court verdict, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government introduced a bill criminalizing the practice and it was approved in December by the lower house of Parliament, where his party commands a majority. But it couldn’t get the approval of the upper house, where the opposition controls a majority of seats.
The main opposition Congress party is opposing a three-year prison sentence for offenders and wants a parliamentary committee to discuss the issue to reach a consensus. It favors a lesser sentence.
On Wednesday, Congress party spokesman Randeep Surjewala said the government should provide a provision for Muslim women to receive some of their husband’s property following divorce.
In India, triple talaq has continued with the protection of laws that allow Muslim, Christian and Hindu communities to follow religious laws in matters like marriage, divorce, inheritance and adoption.
Muslims make up just 13 percent of India’s population of 1.3 billion, which is 81 percent Hindu, the latest census data shows.
The government’s move Wednesday comes months ahead of general elections next year. Modi’s Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party has been criticized for polarizing Indian voters along religious lines.

In a statement, the operator of the site, the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy (AURA), said it has been cooperating with an ongoing law enforcement investigation of criminal activity that occurred on the site. The organization said it evacuated the site because of a concern that a suspect posed a threat to the safety of staff and residents. AURA has not said what the suspected criminal activity is and said it was reluctant to share news during the shutdown because it did not want to alert the suspect and impede the investigation. The original story, published on 14 September, is below.
Nobody is quite sure what’s going on at the Sunspot Solar Observatory in New Mexico, which was quickly and mysteriously evacuated on 6 September amid reports of a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) probe, and has remained closed. The manager of the mountaintop site, the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy (AURA), today released a statement saying the observatory “will remain closed until further notice due to an ongoing security concern.”
In the wake of the shutdown, Otero County Sheriff Benny House told the Alamogordo Daily News: “The FBI were up there. What their purpose was nobody will say.” Facility employees are similarly in the dark. “We have absolutely no idea what is going on,” says Alisdair Davey, a data center scientist at the National Solar Observatory (NSO). “As in truly nothing, which in itself is just weird.” Messages left with the FBI field office in Albuquerque were not returned.
AURA manages the site for NSO, a National Science Foundation-funded group. New Mexico State University (NMSU) in Las Cruces leads the consortium, including NSO and other universities, that operates the observatory’s Dunn Solar Telescope, which conducts routine observations of the sun used by scientists around the world.
All buildings on the site have been shut down and the staff of approximately 12 have been sent home, says James McAteer, Sunspot director and an NMSU astronomer in Las Cruces. He says shutdown events are not unusual, because remote mountaintop facilities can be closed due to sewage leaks, downed power lines, or snowstorms. But the Apache Point Observatory, located slightly lower down on the same mountain, remains open.
The U.S. Postal Service (USPS), which has a small office on the same site as Sunspot that mostly handles mail deliveries for the observatory, has also been shut down, though spokespeople for the office say the post office being closed is incidental. “Whatever’s occurring there has nothing to do with us,” says Rod Spurgeon, the USPS spokesperson for the New Mexico area. Spurgeon downplayed the idea that the incident could involve any sort of mailed biohazard or bioterror. “I haven’t heard of anything like that going on,” he says. Liz Davis, a public information officer at the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, which handles law enforcement for the USPS, confirms there is “no criminal activity, which is what Postal Inspection Service would be dealing with.”
The Sunspot observatory on Sacramento Peak overlooks Holloman Air Force Base and an observer could potentially see out to the U.S. Army’s White Sands Missile Test range. That has raised questions about possible espionage. “New Mexico is a center of national-security-related science, and for that reason it has also been a prominent venue for foreign espionage,” says Steven Aftergood, director of the Federation of American Scientists’ Project on Government Secrecy. “Spies go where the secrets are, and there are plenty of secrets in New Mexico.”
But, Aftergood says, a solar observatory might not be the best place to conduct such activity. “I imagine most or all of its sensors are directed up.” He wonders if someone at the Sunspot observatory somehow inadvertently spotted a classified satellite or transmission, triggering the shutdown.
That might also explain why the facility has remained closed for so long, Aftergood says; it could take time to interview all relevant personnel, get them to sign nondisclosure agreements, and do background investigations to make sure they are not foreign agents.
While the actual nature of the security issue remains unresolved, the tight-lipped nature of the authorities is only driving more interest. “The mystery is more intriguing than what the ultimate explanation is likely to be,” Aftergood says.

McCabe and Strzok Caught Destroying Evidence During Final Days at FBI; “Huber is Running a Grand Jury”
During their final days of access to FBI files and computers Andrew McCabe and Peter Strzok — before losing their jobs — each allegedly tried to destroy evidence and documents, per well-placed FBI and DOJ sources.
But they were nabbed by a sting operation.
Two of the supposed brightest minds who served the FBI — and led the country’s Intel apparatus — each separately set out to allegedly destroy incriminating evidence before their departures from the Bureau. And neither one had any clue they were being watched.
But FBI Director Christopher Wray had suspected as much and — working with personnel from the Inspector General’s office — set up a sting-like operation to prevent against evidence destruction, both documents and electronic, two FBI sources confirm.
Though at differing times, McCabe and Strzok were under 24-hour surveillance both at the office and outside FBI HQ in Washington D.C. And any documents, files, and databases that were deleted or manipulated by McCabe and Strzok were being recorded and documented by federal agents. The original records were restored after the duo vacated the FBI.
“They had no clue they were being watched,” one FBI source said.
One insider said “there were similar patterns” in what McCabe and Strzok accessed at the FBI prior to their departures.
Were federal agents and the Inspector General running wiretaps on McCabe’s and Strzok’s phones while they were employed at FBI?
“It’s a wise deduction,” one FBI source said.
McCabe was fired by Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Strzok was forced to resign after a brutal public hearing on Capitol Hill. Both lingered at the FBI for much longer than they should have but there was little rush to expedite their departures while the sting operations were up and running. And the targets were playing along.
Now what?
Federal sources said a grand jury has been convened involving McCabe and Strzok — and other former FBI — and the evidence gathered by federal officials during their final weeks at the FBI will be front and center but the grand jury will also be examining other violations during their official tenures at FBI.
“Huber is running a grand jury from what I hear,” a DOJ source confirmed, calling the entire process ‘Hush” given the high-profile FBI-linked players involved. “There is so much to tackle but from what I know, the grand jury is now moving into the witness phase.”
Utah US attorney John Huber was selected by Sessions to examine Republican claims of FBI misconduct and the FBI’s failure to examine Hillary Clinton’s ties to a Russian nuclear agency.
Sessions quietly tapped Huber in 2017 to work with the Justice Department’s inspector general. It appears the Justice Department is taking FBI corruption probes to the next level.
Time will tell.

Trump ordered the DOJ to release the text messages of former FBI Director James Comey, his deputy Andrew McCabe, now-fired special agent Peter Strzok, former FBI attorney Lisa Page and twice-demoted DOJ official Bruce Ohr.
Also ordered released are specific pages from the FBI's FISA surveillance warrant application on former Trump campaign aide Carter Page, as well as interviews with Ohr.
The DOJ and the FBI are expected to submit proposed redactions to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence - which will prepare a package for Trump to sign off on.
"When the president issues such an order, it triggers a declassification review process that is conducted by various agencies within the intelligence community, in conjunction with the White House counsel, to seek to ensure the safety of America’s national security interests," a Justice Department spokesman said in a statement. "The department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are already working with the Director of National Intelligence to comply with the president’s order."
The agencies are likely to cite national security concerns over revealing classified "sources and methods" pertaining to the Russia investigation - which will put them in direct conflict with Trump's order. Trump, as president, has the power to override the agencies and declassify material on his own.
Trump's order to release the documents comes after months of requests from GOP lawmakers, while the DOJ has repeatedly denied their requests for more transparency.

A court in New Delhi on Friday ordered Rajendra Pachauri, former head of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), to stand trial on criminal charges alleging that he sexually harassed a former colleague.
The woman filed a police complaint against Pachauri, 78, in February 2015, and he stepped down from IPCC that month. Women’s rights and legal activists have since charged that authorities have been slow to act on that allegation and complaints that Pachauri harassed other women.
Pachauri, who denies the allegations, faces up to 3 years in prison if convicted.
The woman who filed the 2015 complaint alleged that after she began to work at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in 2013, an environmental think tank in New Delhi where Pachauri was director general, he made “constant requests to have a romantic and physical relationship” with her and kissed and grabbed her inappropriately. When she refused his advances, she says, he threatened to retaliate by not giving her work or transferring her. As a result, she quit in November 2015.
She gave police thousands of text messages and emails allegedly involving Pachauri. In March 2016, police filed a 1467-page charge sheet against him. That same month, TERI decided not to renew Pachauri’s employment.
“The case is absolutely concocted, baseless, without any material, and has been filed to defame Dr. Pachauri,” his lawyer, Ashish Dixit, told ScienceInsider.
What’s more, Pachauri filed a pending defamation lawsuit against another woman, who alleged in 2016 that he sexually harassed her a decade earlier while she was working at TERI. That woman also said she resigned because of the harassment.

All they're trying to do is give cover to Rod Rosenstein. Do you think Jeff Sessions doesn't know they're full of shit? If Rod Rosenstein says "I'm going to wait as requested by Congress", it gives him a tiny, tiny excuse for dragging his feet, which the media will laud as being prudent as POTUS (or Sessions) axes him. If anybody in the Justice Department thinks they have a legal obligation to listen to Congress over POTUS, then they need to be fired immediately because they don't understand the laws they are supposed to be enforcing.
Another thing: where's the threat? Are they threatening to withhold funding from the Justice Department when the Democrats win both the Senate and the House in November? That's what it sounds like, but again, it's a bluff. Only people in the MSM pretend that's likely in this economy. They pretended Hillary Clinton had a 95% chance of winning the Presidency, too.

British Defense Secretary Gavin Williamson has visited Ukraine and toured the eastern part of the country, where Ukrainian officials told him how they are fighting against a “Russian aggression.”
Two regions of Ukraine are divided between rebel-controlled parts and those under control of the central government in Kiev. Sergey Naev, the commander of Ukraine’s military crackdown on the rebels personally told the visiting Briton about his successes and needs and “thanked the government and the people of Britain for supporting Ukraine in her fight with the insidious enemy,” as the Facebook page of his task force put it.
Hearing such things about Russia was probably appreciated by the British secretary, whose anti-Russian stance is no secret. Williamson famously told Moscow to “go away and shut up” shortly after Britain expelled 23 Russian diplomats in the aftermath of the Skripal poisoning and has been relentless in drumming up the specter of Russian aggression to secure extra taxpayer money. At least he seems to be quite happy shaking hands with Ukrainian soldiers. Or maybe it’s just that manly helmet and bulletproof vest that did the trick.
Of course, visiting Ukraine must feel like a great reprieve. There pretty much any foreign official with a grudge against Russia gets a king’s welcome. And Williamson doesn’t even work for the International Monetary Fund, so he didn’t have to twist any arms, pushing for yet another hike of gas prices or subsidy cut.
In Ukraine, the media called Williams a good friend of the country and didn’t ridicule his habit of keeping a giant tarantula in the office or suggest that mounting a few big guns on a tractor is a viable alternative to buying tanks. And if his speech to the local lawmakers is interrupted by Siri, nobody would probably care – the Ukrainian parliament witnessed things much weirder.
And certainly if Williamson were to find some even more rude words about Russia, he would not be grilled for them in a live interview. He’d have a street in Kiev named after him or something.

Philadelphia, PA – The city that has gained a reputation for the egregious civil asset forfeiture practices committed by its police department, will now be forced to dismantle the program altogether, as a result of a lawsuit filed by a family who had their home seized by police after their son was accused of a minor drug crime.
Residents who have been harmed by the Philadelphia Police department’s civil asset forfeiture practices could also receive part of $3 million in compensation. Markela and Chris Sourovelis initially filed a lawsuit in 2014 after their son was caught trying to sell $40 in heroin on the street.
The parents complied with the judge and took their son to a court-ordered rehabilitation treatment. But when they returned home, they found that police had locked them out of their house.
The Sourovelis family’s home was seized by police even though there was no evidence that the parents had any knowledge of their son’s attempt to sell drugs, and there was no evidence that the parents or any other family members had engaged in any kind of drug-related activity deemed “illegal” by the state.
The story received significant media attention as the country was introduced to the horror many Philadelphia residents face, and the district attorney eventually dropped the case against the family. In a statement from December 2014, Chris Sourovelis said he was relieved by the verdict, but was committed to continuing the fight to ensure that other residents were not subjected to the same nightmare.
“After months of uncertainty, my family can finally rest easy knowing that our home is our home again,” Sourovelis said. “I’ve lived in Philadelphia for over 30 years. I never thought it was possible for the police to just show up at my doorstep without notice and take my house when I’ve done nothing wrong. But that’s exactly what happened to me and my family—and we’re not alone. That’s why we’re going to keep fighting for everyone still trapped in Philadelphia’s civil forfeiture nightmare.”
Sourovelis worked with the Institute of Justice to file a new lawsuit a class action lawsuit, which alleged that the city was seizing 300 to 500 homes each year, violating residents’ constitutional rights and illegally creating a profit incentive because the revenue generated by the program was going straight to local police and district attorneys.
To say that the city has a problem is an understatement. While the city of Allegheny, Pennsylvania, filed 200 petitions for civil asset forfeiture from 2008 to 2011, Philadelphia filed 6,560 petitions—in 2011 alone. A report from the Philadelphia Inquirer also found that the city brought in more than $64 million in seized property from 2004 to 2014, which is almost twice the amount raised by cities like Brooklyn, New York, and Los Angeles, California.

A Bozeman, Montana, restaurant has cancelled Donald Trump Jr.’s campaign rally for GOP Senate candidate Matt Rosendale.
They say it’s because they just don’t want to take sides in a political fight.

The rally was to take place on Sept. 25 at Bozeman’s Midtown Tavern.
Trump Jr.’s girlfriend, former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle, is set to join him for the Montana rally, which is currently seeking a new venue, KBZK-TV reported.
Jeff Wilcox, the restaurant’s manager, told the Bozeman Daily Chronicle that the restaurant “definitely [doesn’t] want to take political sides.”
“That’s never our intention,” Wilcox explained. “That’s just not who we are. We just try to stay politically neutral. We’re a restaurant.”
The restaurant reportedly had no indication that the venue booking was for a politics-related event until Rosendale’s campaign announced it on Tuesday.
In a statement, Rosendale said, “We’re excited to welcome Trump Jr. and Kimberly back to Montana. This race is a top priority for the Trump administration and it’s an honor to have them join us on the campaign trail. President Trump is now counting on all of us to win this race so we can help him advance his agenda.”
Shane Scanlon, a spokesperson for Rosendale, said that over 200 people had reserved tickets for the event.
According to KULR-TV, the event is still set for Sept. 25 at an as-yet announced venue.

The Chicago Park District has put a halt to preparations being made for the Obama Presidential Library, until after a Federal court reviews a lawsuit filed by Chicago residents, and Federal agencies assess the transfer of historic public land to a private entity.
But in the meantime, permits and agreements filed by Chicago city officials, and with the Chicago Department of Transportation reveal a sweetheart rent deal that any Chicago renter (or landlord) would certainly envy: the Obama Foundation will pay a mere $10 for a 99-year lease on what is supposed to be a public park.
The Chicago Park District had begun felling trees on land destined to become part of the Obama Library complex, but those preparations ground to a halt Monday after the Chicago Department of Transportation refused to grant a permit, allowing the Park District to move utility lines running through the site until after the Federal lawsuit and Federal assessments have been resolved.
Hearings on the lawsuit, which claims the Obama Library received unprecedented, and potentially illegal, assistance from the state of Illinois, and the city of Chicago, start Thursday. Plaintiffs claim that the Library is being granted part of historic Jackson Park – a huge public green space designed by Frederick Olmsted (the same man who designed New York City's Cental Park, and dedicated for the people of Chicago's recreational use. They also say that plans to move two major arteries, that currently run across Jackson Park, will harm economic growth and isolate residents of Chicago's south side.
Construction also halted on a new athletic field – a project the city claims has no connection to the Obama Library complex. The Chicago Sun-Times reports the city might have misled residents: the Obama Foundation appears to have granted more than $2 million to the city for the new athletic field, because the old one will need to be demolished to make room for Obama's massive complex.
The permitting and construction process became even stranger on Wednesday, when the Sun-Times reported that the City Council was working on a bill that would grant the Obama Library a century-long lease on what is, essentially, public land, for a mere $10, even though the Foundation can afford much more – and Chicago is desperately in need of the money.
"One of the ordinances includes the agreements between the foundation and the city, which includes the foundation paying the city $10 for the 99-year pact; the other ordinance clears the legal way to plow under Cornell Drive from 59th Street to Hayes Drive to be reconfigured as green space on the Obama campus," the Sun-Times says.
That's down from the $1-per-year proposal offered earlier in the process, too.
One of the Library's top critics called the deal infuriating.
"The idea of leasing invaluable, irreplaceable public parkland to a private entity for $10 for 99 years is astounding in this era when public lands and natural resources are under attack in so many places," the head of Jackson Park Watch told local media. "Besides, Chicago’s finances are extremely precarious. Yes, this is symbolic, but symbolism is significant.”
Other Chicago museums are located on public property, but those museums have agreements with the city of Chicago in perpetuity.

Peter Carr is the chief spokesman for Mueller’s team. Emails obtained from the Special Counsel and released Tuesday by Freedom Watch reveal Carr’s out-of-the-office rendezvous and text conversations with the media elite in D.C.
Likewise, Carr admits he is not allowed to use his private cell phone in the office but freely communicates with reporters off hours and weekends on his iPhone, according to texts. But Carr’s cell phone is not listed as an official contact number for the Special Counsel’s media relations office. And according to texts, Carr has only divulged the number to select media clientele.
And is his phone secure? Is discussing details about Mueller’s sensitive and classified Trump investigation in a Starbucks secure?
Carr has made a career as Mueller’s media flack since May 2017, when Mueller was appointed to probe Trump and the White House. Fielding thousands of media requests, mostly via email, Carr offers a patented “no comment” in response to the majority of all press inquiries, per the records released by Freedom Watch. That is to be expected, given he is the spokesman for a group that is investigating alleged crimes.
But Carr’s offsite meetings with media elite are raising eyebrows. Add to the fact Carr also conducted private calls with top media players, according to the released emails. Yet there are no transcripts of Carr’s conversations with the New York Times, Politico, the Washington Post and many others. And there are no records pinpointing how many private meetings the Special Counsel team had with Big Media. Or what was discussed.
Coincidentally, the news organizations linked to the private sit downs with the Mueller team are the same ones that have published leaked Intel and scoops from Mueller’s grand juries.
We are not alleging Carr is leaking grand jury Intel but the Special Counsel has a serious optics and confidentiality problem here. And grand jury leaks have been rampant from Mueller’s team. Someone is leaking. And leaking a lot. These are crimes, however, not simply traditional beltway leaks.
Carr, no doubt, is an affable and quite capable spokesman, having previously proven his worth as GOP Sen. Orin Hatch’s spokesman. But the appearance of impropriety — or conflict of interest — used to be enough to shut down a practice when it comes to criminal investigations — especially a probe seemingly intended to remove the President of the United States from office. And Carr’s emails sure seem to easily meet that standard and likewise easily blur many other lines.
We asked Carr yesterday to explain why he has conducted such meetings.
Carr said via email:
“Thanks, Mike. I appreciate your reaching out. I’d point you to emails similar to one on August 25, 2017, to Eric Tucker at the AP:
‘I’ve been providing an educational briefing for interested reporters – not for attribution, just to help interpret the regulations and other public documents – about how the Special Counsel’s Office operates, what our rules are, etc.'”
That explanation, however, doesn’t pass the smell test, according to Larry Klayman, founder of Freedom Watch who sued Mueller for the emails in a FOIA legal battle. Klayman, who also founded Judicial Watch, said Carr’s meeting with Big Media lays a foundation for grand jury leaks.
And raises many questions about Mueller.
Klayman commented on the “secret” media rendezvous Tuesday night on CrowdSource the Truth’s Patreon show where the Mueller email cache was unveiled. A segment from the full show is below:

He continued, “I hope that she will come forward, and whether that’s publicly or privately, I understand that Chairman Grassley’s offered a private session to protect her privacy if she prefers, or offered a session with staff if she prefers that. I hope that she’ll avail herself of one of those opportunities. But I blame Democrats for this. The games they have played with this nomination have been just unbelievable.”
“The Democrats deliberately withheld this information until this 11th hour, and now they’re continuing to stall and delay. And I just think that it is making a mockery of this process, and they should be ashamed,” Hawley later added.

Flake flashed a yellow light Sunday night on Brett Kavanaugh’s high court bid, telling POLITICO that he won't support advancing the nomination this week if fellow senators don’t do more to hear out a woman accusing the nominee of sexual assault more than three decades ago. Opposition from the Arizona Republican wouldn’t doom Kavanaugh outright, but it already has ratcheted up political pressure on a GOP struggling to keep Trump’s Supreme Court nominee from a full implosion.
Flake is a charter member of the GOP’s anti-Trump caucus, one of only a few senators in the president’s party who freely tee off on the president’s handling of issues from trade to Russia, though they rarely actively undercut his agenda. A woman named Christine Blasey Ford alleges that a drunken 17-year-old Brett Kavanaugh tried to sexually assault her. It’s a near-40 year old allegation. It’s impossible to verify. There are no corroborative witnesses. The other party involved, Mark Judge, said he does not recollect this event ever happening. It’s a he said, she said. Though the point is not to get to the truth. The point is to smear a Trump nominee, cast his as a would-be rapist, and hopefully use the anti-Trump anger to improve the Democratic Party’s position on the Hill this midterm cycle, so by next Congress maybe they can effectively block him. Right now, the Democrats don’t have the votes.

Speaking to MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell at an environmental summit in San Francisco last week, Brown tore into Trump for the president’s controversial tweets about the death toll in Puerto Rico from last year’s Hurricane Maria and urged voters to vote for Democrats in November’s midterm elections in an effort to thwart Trump’s agenda.
“We never had a president who was engaged in this kind of behavior,” Brown said. “I mean he’s not telling the truth; he keeps changing his mind; he’s sabotaging the world order in many respects.”
Brown added: “It’s unprecedented, it’s dangerous, and hopefully this election is going to send a strong message to the country; the Democrats will win…something’s got to happen to this guy, because if we don’t get rid of him, he’s going to undermine America and even the world."
Under Brown, California has become one of the main opponents to the Trump administration’s policies on everything from land use to immigration. But there is perhaps no area where California has been more combative against the White House agenda than the environment.
“California has positioned itself as the center of the Trump resistance,” Jessica Levinson, a clinical law professor at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, told Fox News. “It’s bloody combat.”
Earlier this month, Brown signed two pieces of legislation effectively banning the construction of any new offshore oil and gas pipelines in the state’s waters. The new laws are meant to thwart a Trump plan to open nearly 1.7 billion acres of coastal waters to drilling.
Shortly before the climate conference began last week, the governor also put his signature on legislation phasing out electricity in the state produced by fossil fuels by 2045.
“It’s really extraordinary that the president can deny science like that,” Brown told MSNBC of Trump’s questioning the veracity of climate change. “It’s bad, and how we counteract it is with a climate summit, with normal people respecting the truth, and communicating that with other normal people, and combating the President of the United States in what are lies, distortions, and quite frankly, bizarre behavior."
