Türkiye arrests over 8,000 in organized crime operations
ürkiye conducted 1,741 operations targeting 625 emerging and organized criminal groups in the first nine months of 2026, resulting in the arrest of 8,170 people, Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi said on Sunday.
Çiftçi said combating emerging criminal groups and intensifying the fight against drugs remained among the Interior Ministry's priorities.
He said criminal networks had increasingly sought to fill the space left by terrorist organizations, describing the groups as “terrorists without uniforms.”
According to Çiftçi, these groups use social media and digital platforms to organize, recruit members, threaten people, open fire on homes, vehicles and workplaces, and extort money.
He emphasized that cutting off their financial resources and apprehending their leaders and members were essential to tackling organized crime.
Authorities seized criminal proceeds worth approximately TL 95 billion ($1.91 billion) in operations targeting emerging criminal groups, including money, real estate and vehicles obtained through illegal activities, Çiftçi said.
The minister added that some criminal group leaders and members flee abroad following police operations but continue directing criminal activities in Türkiye through social media and digital platforms.
Operations against narcotics-related crimes had resulted in the seizure of approximately 39 tons of drugs, 103 million narcotic pills and 20 million cannabis and skunk plants during 2026.

MAPLE GROVE, Minn. (Gray News) - A 29-year-old registered sex offender is accused of pretending to be a teenage girl to try to enroll in a high school.
According to KARE, Maple Grove Police Department was notified by a Maple Grove Senior High School staff member about a person who was trying to enroll at the school as a “homeless youth.” The person, later identified as Makayla Craig, allegedly said they were a 17-year-old named Molly from Oregon.
Craig, who was still claiming to be Molly, allegedly told police they had never attended school before and wanted to “get the full experience.” They also allegedly told investigators they were worried they might get mistaken for “Makayla Craig, a registered sex offender from Oregon.” When it was determined that they were in fact Craig, they were arrested.

As a consequence, Premier Eby’s snap election gamble backfired, and he ended up handing the B.C. Conservative Party a majority government. Lorne Doerkson’s party has gained roughly 64 of the province’s 93 ridings (districts), Eby collapsed to 17. {source} Doerkson will now lead British Columbia’s first Conservative government in nearly 100 years. Shortly after the results became evident, David Eby announced he would step down as B.C. NDP leader.
I’m not going to extrapolate too much into this outcome against the backdrop of a U.S. midterm sentiment; however, it would be foolish not to notice the hidden vote base that turned out for Lorne Doerkson.
There is a pragmatic center who fully understands what can be expected from left-wing political policy.
B.C. Conservative Leader Lorne Doerkson spoke to party supporters in Vancouver, where he thanked his family, his riding of Cariboo-Chilcotin and campaign volunteers. He promised to work as hard as his volunteers as B.C. premier and praised outgoing premier David Eby for his years of service.

Dark Matter in a Simulated Universe
Is our universe haunted? It might look that way on this dark matter map. The gravity of unseen dark matter is the leading explanation for why galaxies rotate so fast, why galaxies orbit clusters so fast, why gravitational lenses so strongly deflect light, and how visible matter is distributed. The featured image from the American Museum of Natural History's Hayden Planetarium Space Show, Dark Universe, highlights one example of how pervasive dark matter might haunt our universe. In this frame from a detailed computer simulation, complex filaments of dark matter, shown in black, are strewn about the universe like spider webs, while the relatively rare clumps of familiar baryonic matter are colored orange. These simulations are good statistical matches to astronomical observations. In what is perhaps a scarier turn of events, dark matter although quite strange and in an unknown form is no longer thought to be the strangest source of gravity in the universe. That honor now falls to dark energy, a more uniform source of repulsive gravity that seems to now dominate the expansion of the entire universe.

Shortly after officials confirmed Craig Spencer had tested positive for the virus after treating Ebola patients in Guinea, Africa, Trump tweeted: "Ebola has been confirmed in N.Y.C., with officials frantically trying to find all of the people and things he had contact with. Obama's fault."
About 7 minutes after that, Trump tweeted, "I have been saying for weeks for President Obama to stop the flights from West Africa. So simple, but he refused. A TOTAL incompetent!"
Trump went in further during a series of tweets.
In one, he made reference to the name Barry Soetoro, which appears on Obama's Columbia University identification card. "I never thought I'd say it in my lifetime, but President Barack Hussein Obama, aka Barry Sotoro, is a far worse president than Jimmy Carter!"

I went on LBC today because they keep calling me a “racist.”

This morning a friend alerted me to the fact that Reform UK’s Robert Jenrick was being asked to defend my tweets live on LBC. What my tweets have to do with a guy I’ve met in passing a handful of times I don’t know, but I agreed to appear on LBC – one of the largest radio stations in country – to have my own say on the matter.
I’ve only been in Britain a few weeks of this year, and the state of the political debate I’ve found to be really quite woeful.
There are some parts that are better. It’s nice, for example, that there is a station like GB News which promotes views besides those of the far left. But even then, Ofcom broadcast regulations force them to air left wing views. Naturally, the leftists that are willing to go on GB News are often the most mental.
But then I’m sure some of LBC’s predominantly metropolitan liberal audience thinks I’m quite mental, albeit on the other side.
Still, it was good to be able to have my say on the matter, and I explained at LENGTH why I’m happy to stand by my characterization of Kemi as a scammer, here.

The spooky season is officially here! To celebrate, we've put together a list of five Halloween-themed skywatching targets that you can enjoy with nothing but the naked eye or binoculars and, of course, clear skies.
Over millennia, the night sky has helped shape human beliefs. In return, we have imprinted our myths, stories and perceptions upon it, seeing monsters and mythology in the twinkling lights of the stars and assigning sinister aspects to innocent cosmic objects.
Many of these ghostly impressions and meanings have survived to the present day. Here are a few of our favorites.
The Pleiades open star cluster
Don't be fooled by their beauty; the blue-white stars of the Pleiades are dripping in spooky lore. Ancient Celtic druids would hold the celebration of Samhain — the precursor to Halloween — when the star cluster reached its highest point in the autumn night sky at midnight.
The veil separating the worlds of the living and the dead was believed to be at its thinnest around this time, granting the departed a brief window to visit the living before the realms separated once again.
The Pleiades appears as a tight collection of six or seven bright twinkling stars to the naked eye, while a pair of binoculars will reveal dozens more of the 1,000-strong star cluster.
Stargazers in the U.S. can find the Pleiades using the three familiar stars of Orion's Belt, which glisten in the eastern sky in the hours preceding midnight.
Trace an imaginary line upward through the trio of stars until you find the bright orange star Aldebaran, which represents an eye of the great bull represented in the constellation Taurus.
The Pleiades can be found glowing less than 15 degrees above! (Reminder: Your clenched fist held at arm's length covers about 10 degrees of sky.)

The 'Demon Star' Algol
Next we turn our gaze to the "Demon Star" Algol — a beautiful binary system that represents an eye of the monstrous Gorgon Medusa, whose severed head is depicted in the constellation Perseus.
The demonic eye appears to "wink" at us every 2.867 days, as one of a pair of co-orbiting stars eclipses the other, making Algol appear 3.3 times dimmer than usual at the climax, or "minima," of each 10-hour eclipse.
Algol won't be eclipsed on Halloween night in 2026, though you may notice its light dim during the surrounding minima on Oct. 29 and Nov. 1, according to Sky and Telescope.
Cetus, the sea monster
The night sky is often described as a sea of stars, so it's only fitting that a monster lurks within its depths.
The constellation Cetus — also known as the sea monster, or the whale — can be found shining in the southeastern sky after sunset in late October, with the circlet of stars representing the monster's head glistening to the right of the Pleiades for viewers in the U.S.
In Greek mythology, Cetus was a mighty sea beast that terrorized the coast of Aethiopia under the command of the god Poseidon, according to the website for NASA's Chandra X-Ray Observatory.
The sea beast was eventually killed by the hero Perseus, who in some tellings used the severed head of medusa to turn Cetus to stone!
Spiderwebs on the moon
Look to the lunar disk in the week surrounding the full moon on Oct. 26 and you may notice a bright network of spiderweb-like patterns surrounding the Tycho, Copernicus and Kepler craters.
Thankfully, these aren't the nests of some colossal moon-dwelling arachnids, but streaks of bright material cast across the lunar surface by the violent impacts that created the bright young craters.
They're best viewed around the full moon phase, when the lunar disk shines opposite the sun in Earth's sky.
Halloween fireballs
Our last pick is going to take a great deal of patience, and a good amount of luck!
Look out for bright, slow-moving meteors belonging to the Taurid meteor shower, which appear to streak away from a patch of sky close to the Pleiades in the constellation Taurus (hence the name).
The Taurids are comprised of two separate meteor showers — the Northern Taurids and Southern Taurids — which are active in late October as Earth passes through the debris trails left by the 3-mile-wide (4.8 kilometers) Comet 2P/Encke.
Taurids are known for producing bright "fireball" meteors, which are often called "Halloween fireballs" because they tend to coincide with the annual celebration.
They're spectacular and can appear anytime after the constellation Taurus rises above the horizon, which is shortly after sunset in October for stargazers in the U.S..
But they're also very rare, so it's best to treat the fireballs as a bonus if you're lucky enough to spot one, rather than a target to plan your nights around, at least outside of the shower's peaks in early November.

Rollins and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Administrator Jared Isaacman signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and NASA that will strengthen USDA’s data quality and help ensure that American farmers and ranchers benefit from and have access to cutting-edge technologies.
Effective immediately, both Departments will work together to guide cooperation on integrating Earth observation, geospatial analytics, and statistical methodologies in support of agricultural statistics and aligned with USDA’s ongoing data and technology modernization efforts.
“American farmers are the best in the world and deserve any solution we can leverage, even when it is out of this world.
I am proud to announce that USDA will now work with Administrator Isaacman and NASA to utilize the full power of technology, research, and development to fortify U.S. agriculture,” said Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins.
“With this unprecedented partnership the Trump Administration is committing to a bright future of research and tech opportunities that will enhance USDA acreage and yield estimation and drive profitability for American agriculture.”
The partnership between the two Departments is long-standing, but new opportunities to improve crop performance for Earth and space-based goals were initiated in December 2025, when President Trump issued Executive Order 14369, “Ensuring American Space Superiority.”
At that time, NASA and USDA began to explore creative new ways to improve American and global agriculture, observe the environment, and contribute to better human health.
“NASA develops some of the most advanced sensing, computing, and analytical capabilities in the world, and we should put those tools to work wherever they can deliver meaningful outcomes for the American people,” said NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman.
“By combining NASA’s Earth observation data and technical expertise with USDA’s knowledge of American agriculture, we can improve the information available to farmers and ranchers, strengthen our understanding of crop conditions and natural hazards, and pursue new high-risk, high-reward ideas that advance both science and American competitiveness.”
The scope of cooperation under this MOU may include, but is not limited to, agricultural statistics, remote sensing science, modeling, geospatial data engineering, and super intelligence/machine learning (SI/ML) supported by the participants.
As priorities evolve, additional areas of cooperation may be identified.
Areas of cooperation include:
Mission/Data Alignment: Regular technical exchanges to align USDA statistical requirements with NASA Earth science missions and data products (e.g., satellite observations, model outputs, and derived geophysical variables).
Data Access & Infrastructure: Discussions on scalable access patterns to NASA archives, cloud‑native geospatial formats, application programming interfaces (APIs), and workflow orchestration that enable USDA production operations.
Methodology & Validation: Joint technical reviews of algorithms for crop condition indicators, yield models, planted/harvested area estimation, and disaster impact assessment, including approaches to bias correction, uncertainty quantification, and validation using statistically sound frames and ground data.
This list is not intended to be exhaustive, and the participants intend to work together to investigate opportunities for collaboration under this MOU.
This effort supports the USDA Data Modernization Plan (PDF, 5.3 MB) launched by Secretary Rollins last month to put Farmers First, reduce unnecessary burdens on producers, and improve the timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of the agricultural data that inform decisions across American agriculture.

Atomic-6’s composite armor designed to withstand 16,000 mph debris impacts has made its orbital debut aboard a satellite.
Atomic-6 has announced that its proprietary Space Armor technology has been deployed into space for the first time.
Installed on a Portal Space Systems’ Starburst-1 spacecraft, the craft was launched aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 during its Bandwagon-5 launch from Cape Canaveral, Florida.
Atomic-6’s Space Armor is a new lightweight composite armor for satellites designed to help them survive impacts from space debris.
Specifically, it is designed to absorb impacts from tiny impactors without creating more debris of its own.
You can liken it to a kind of bulletproof vest for spacecraft. And the need for this kind of protection is only growing.
Currently, the space around our planet is full of junk. Not just dead satellites and discarded rocket stages, but millions of tiny fragments travelling at enormous relative velocities.
Even a tiny fragment can cause catastrophic damage when it hits a satellite at these kinds of velocities. Consider a 3 mm diameter aluminum sphere travelling at 7 km/s (15,659 mph/25,200 kph).
Space debris armor for satellites
If the debris only weighed about 38 milligrams, it could deliver something like 0.93 kilojoules of kinetic energy on impact.
That’s roughly comparable to the muzzle energy of some powerful handgun rounds, although the physics of a hypervelocity impact are very different.
And, just like a bullet, the energy is concentrated into a relatively small impact area. Such small pieces of junk are also impossible to track and therefore avoid.
One solution is to simply clad your spacecraft in armor to take the hit. Various solutions exist today, but one of the most common is something called a Whipple Shield.
Such armor typically consists of an outer sacrificial bumper that is separated from the main craft by space. When hit, the projectile breaks up, melts, and partially vaporizes.
The resulting cloud of fragments spreads the impact over a much larger area, allowing the rear wall to withstand it more effectively. Another rear wall attached to the craft then safely absorbs this cloud of debris.
While effective, this armor can produce more debris of its own, turning a single piece of junk into even more. Such armor also increases the size of a spacecraft and can be bulky.
This is where Atomic-6’s armor comes into its own. Its solution is to provide a means of protecting the craft while also preventing the generation of even more junk.
Proof of the pudding is in the eating
It is also designed to be lightweight and relatively thin. The exact composition of its armour tiles is proprietary, but the company describes using a specialised fibre-to-resin manufacturing process.
That suggests a carefully engineered composite in which reinforcing fibres are embedded in a polymer matrix.
The result is a relatively light material able to prevent penetration while also absorbing secondary debris. It is also described as radio-frequency transparent, meaning it can be applied not only to the main “hull” but also to antennae and other comms equipment.
While Space Armor has already undergone ground-based hypervelocity testing, its deployment aboard Starburst-1 offers an opportunity to assess its performance in orbit.

US Space Command applies gag over Auckland space-watching hub

A space-watching network funded by the Pentagon that has one of three global hubs in Auckland has played a direct role supporting combat operations in the Iran war.
But US Space Command has gagged the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) from giving details about the Auckland hub's activities to RNZ.
While the NZDF has said it retained sovereignty over the hub, it also said it was not authorised to release the information.
"We have received advice from US Space Command that does not change the decision on your request," the NZDF said on Tuesday.
It suggested RNZ, instead of using the Official Information Act (OIA), try using the US Freedom of Information Act.
Earlier in the year information was released under the OIA, that showed the hub in February tracked launches of Chinese military satellites and an Iranian civilian satellite from Russia.
Watching over Iran
Auckland coordinates the Pacific third of the globe for the US-led Joint Commercial Operations (JCO) network.
The JCO is the single biggest collector of monitoring data on commercial rocket, satellite and debris movements in space for the Pentagon.
The head of the JCO, Barbara Golf, recently revealed the network had also accelerated its use of fledgling new powers for the Iran war.
US Central Command asked the Space Force to broaden its monitoring of electromagnetic spectrums when President Donald Trump ordered the start of Operation Epic Fury on 28 February, she said at a tech surveillance conference last month in Hawaii.
"When Operation Epic Fury kicked off, the answer was, 'We want more of that now in every band you can find'. And so we did that pretty much on the bounce this spring to support Centcom as fast as we could.
"So this is an example of a very rapid expansion of the JCO."
They used it to detect sources of electronic attack on US systems such as from Iranian jammers that could disrupt drones.
"Over the next year our intention is to be expanding this into all six ground combatant commands," said Golf.
US Indo-Pacific Command is one of those six.
RNZ has asked if the Auckland hub was involved in the Iran JCO operations. NZDF did not say.
The conflict is closer to the JCO network's Britain-based hub. The third and final hub is in the US.

'I expect it to explode'
Electromagnetic spectrum operations were added to the JCO network just two years ago - an early job was to help protect the Paris Olympics.
"I expect it to explode into one of our most important capabilities for commercial operations," Golf said at the conference.
The NZDF last year denied the Auckland hub had expanded into electromagnetics.
"The NZDF is aware of the … mission area expansions, however, the NZDF itself has not expanded its involvement and remains within its remit as approved by Cabinet for JCO."
RNZ has asked it again if it had expanded more recently.
The Chief of Defence Force oversaw the hub and participation was at the agreement of government, it said in 2024.
Information blocked
In August, RNZ reported on notices the Auckland hub had put out in February 2026.
The notices comprised 24 pages that covered just a few days, released under the OIA to someone else.
They showed the hub coordinated tracking of a Russian launch of two satellites for Iran - for weather and TV broadcasting - that the notice said marked a "significant milestone for Iran's space program and continued Russian-Iranian cooperation in space activities".
A Chinese military satellite was also tracked.
RNZ asked NZDF to release more notices, from March to September, as well as the last two years of activity reports.
But this was blocked. "The NZDF does not have the authority to unilaterally release JCO documentation," it said.
When RNZ asked why the February notices had been released, the NZDF said it "received authorisation to release the three redacted documents".
When RNZ asked Defence to check again with US Space Command to "see if the position has changed" on the new expanded request, it came back and said it hadn't.
RNZ has approached US Space Command. It passed the request on internally and there has not been any comment on why it blocked the release.
'Protect and defend'
Joint Commercial Operations was created by the Pentagon in 2020 primarily to bring commercial data worth about $50 million a year into US Space Command to feed out to combatant commands, but also out to hundreds of agencies and governments in many countries, because space tracking helps avoid debris and with geolocation and other vital space services.
Because the analysis can remain unclassified, the military can also more easily share it with allies.
When the US invited New Zealand to set up the JCO's Pacific cell with Auckland as the hub in 2023, it emphasised this was a "Protect and Defend" mission, and NZ stressed it was for space safety and security.
It has cost New Zealand very little bar a few staff, with US footing the bill.
"New Zealand does not procure any commercial space surveillance sensor data services for the JCO, it is entirely funded by the US," Defence said.

A Cabinet minute in 2023 said the JCO may continue to "evolve in terms of purpose and the technology employed".
NZDF said last month its role in space "is centred on awareness, information sharing, and cooperation with partners".
'Bedrock of space control'
The JCO network's main job is to scan the skies and spectrums to build "space domain awareness" or what the Pentagon calls "the bedrock of space control".
Space domain awareness encompasses space weather monitoring, intelligence gathering but also targeting and battle damage assessment, it said.
The Commander of US Space Command, General Stephen Whiting, said last month the aim was unrestricted freedom of manoeuver in space for the US and its allies.
"The ultimate objective is space superiority," he told the same conference Golf spoke at about Iran.
Another of JCO's jobs was to "predict adversary behaviour", and the network recently expanded not just into electromagnetics but tactical surveillance, reconnaissance and tracking, its reports showed.
Again, the NZDF has denied Auckland was part of that expansion. "Any expansion requires the appropriate permissions" from government, it said.
That has not prevented the NZDF training JCO operators in Japan as part of the Pacific cell.
The US has been stressing 2026 as the Year of Integration in space.
Whiting last month took up the theme.
There was an "urgent need to integrate allied and commercial capabilities, deepen partnerships with industry for space domain awareness, and harness AI and machine learning to outpace adversaries in closing surveillance gaps".
The US and allies had to predict adversarial satellite manoeuvers and detect anomalous behaviors that signalled potential threats.
"We're slashing detection times dramatically, from minutes to seconds in some cases."
Musk's sensors added
Recently, the JCO network added Elon Musk's thousands of Starlink satellites to its commercial sources.
This had led to a "significant increase in successful tracking" of Chinese and Russian launches, said a report by Golf in April.
More broadly, the US recently confirmed a widely known fact that it had put weapons in space. This came six years after it began working on its first official "war plan" for space under Space Command.
Whiting in March told the US House Armed Services Committee the country must accelerate faced with "China's space-enabled kill chains, Russia's pursuit of an on-orbit nuclear anti-satellite … weapon, and the proliferation of advanced ballistic, cruise, and hypersonic missiles".
"Armed conflict in space is not inevitable, and USSPACECOM remains committed to preserving space as a domain for peaceful exploration, economic growth, and expanded human reach.
"Should deterrence fail, however, the integrated space power of our team will provide a decisive advantage in any conflict," he said.

Two civilians were killed and thirteen others wounded in a major attack on the Russian city of Belgorod, regional governor Aleksandr Shuvayev has said.
The death toll from an overnight drone strike has risen to two. One of the injured victims who was hospitalized following the attack has died, Shuvayev added.
Overall thirteen people were injured, according to updated data from regional authorities.
Earlier reports said one person had been killed and 14 injured.
“The enemy launched a large-scale drone strike on residential areas in the center of the city,” Mayor Valentin Demidov wrote in a post on social media early on Sunday.
The raid damaged multiple residential buildings, personal vehicles, and public and commercial facilities, according to the mayor. More than 50 people were forced to seek shelter in temporary housing centers.
Belgorod Region, which borders Ukraine, has been frequently targeted by Ukrainian drone and artillery strikes since the escalation between Moscow and Kiev in February 2022.
Ukrainian attacks inside Russia continue despite renewed diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict, with Moscow announcing plans to resume trilateral talks with Washington and Kiev following Russian President Vladimir Putin’s meeting with US envoy Steve Witkoff on Wednesday.
Oryol Region Governor Andrey Klychkov said that three people were killed in a missile strike on a civilian enterprise, which was carried out during rush hour on Friday.
On the same day, an incursion by Kiev’s UAVs caused the temporary closure of all four of Moscow’s airports, leading to the cancellation and delay of multiple flights.
Russia has accused Ukraine of deliberately targeting civilians and infrastructure to compensate for setbacks on the battlefield, where Moscow’s forces continue to advance.
In response to Ukrainian terrorist attacks, Moscow has intensified long-range missile and drone strikes against Ukraine’s military facilities and infrastructure supporting Kiev’s war effort. The Russian Defense Ministry maintains that it never targets civilians.

AVISMA, a major titanium producer in Russia’s Perm Krai, was reportedly hit by drones early on 25 October. The plant’s titanium alloys are used in military aircraft, engines, missiles, and space technology.
A drone attack damaged an industrial facility in Russia’s Perm Krai early on 25 October, injuring five workers, Ukrainian monitoring channel Exilenova+ reported. Exilenova+ identified the target as the AVISMA chemical and metallurgical plant in Berezniki, around 1,500 km from Ukraine’s border.
The reported strike highlights Ukraine’s ability to reach industrial facilities deep inside Russia that support its military-industrial complex.
AVISMA produces titanium materials used in aviation and aerospace manufacturing, including military aircraft, aircraft engines, missiles, and space technology, according to Exilenova+.
Regional governor Dmitry Makhonin said the industrial facility sustained damage but continued operating normally. He said five workers were injured in the attack.
A target deep inside Russia
Perm Krai lies in Russia’s Ural region, roughly 1,500 km from Ukraine’s border.
The distance places the reported strike far beyond Russia’s border regions, where Ukrainian drone attacks have frequently targeted military and industrial infrastructure.
The reported attack follows a broader Ukrainian campaign against Russian industrial and energy facilities linked to the country’s war effort.
Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed that air defenses intercepted and destroyed 532 Ukrainian drones overnight across 23 Russian regions and over the Sea of Azov, according to Russian state news agency TASS.
The reported interceptions included drones over Perm Krai, as well as regions around Moscow and areas in southern and western Russia. The figures have not been independently verified.
The extent of damage at AVISMA and any impact on its operations have not been independently established.

IDF seriously injures, fails to detain Palestinian accused of attempted ramming attack - report
The IDF seriously wounded a Palestinian man for allegedly attempting to run over soldiers near Hebron, but failed to detain him afterward, Army Radio reported on Sunday afternoon.
According to Army Radio, the incident occured on Friday near Kafr Dura, shortly after the fatal Hebron attack that killed Staff Sergeant Ron Yonatan Roytman and Sergeant Yuval Shai Svilem. Three others were lightly wounded in the attack.
Two terrorists were killed during the confrontation, and the IDF said no additional terrorists were involved.

In a separate Sunday statement, the IDF and Shin Bet announced they had apprehended a suspect allegedly intending to carry out a terror attack along a major road in the West Bank.
The IDF sealed off the homes of the two terrorists who committed Friday's fatal Hebron attack, the military announced on Sunday morning, as part of the ongoing counterterrorism operations taking place in the city.
Staff Sergeant Ron Yonatan Roytman and Sergeant Yuval Shai Svilem were killed in the attack. Three others were lightly wounded in the attack.
Both terrorists were killed during the confrontation.

CENTCOM Commander Visits Strait of Hormuz during Milestone Week
STRAIT OF HORMUZ — The commander of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) visited the Strait of Hormuz, Oct. 25, as U.S. forces reach the milestone of assisting Gulf partners in exporting more than 1.5 billion barrels of crude oil since summer.
Adm. Brad Cooper observed the current operational environment while flying in a U.S. Army CH-47 Chinook over the international waterway. More than 3,000 commercial vessels have successfully transited the Strait of Hormuz with support from CENTCOM forces over the last six months.
"We continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with our Gulf partners and the shipping industry," said Cooper. "This visit underscores our strong commitment to continued freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz."
Momentum has continued to build in recent months since American forces successfully cleared the strait's international shipping lanes of sea mines laid by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
During the trip, Cooper met with the U.S. service members who supported the mine clearance mission. He thanked them for their continued commitment and dedication.
"Today, primary transit routes in the Strait of Hormuz remain free and clear of Iranian sea mines thanks to incredible efforts by our people," said Cooper. "We remain intensely focused on keeping commercial traffic flowing as we work with our teammates in the U.S. interagency, Gulf Cooperation Council, and shipping industry."
In recent months, over 95% of ships navigating the Strait of Hormuz have sailed through safely despite the IRGC's unwarranted aggression, clearly demonstrating that the United States and regional partners control the international waterway.

UFO hunters search for alien encounters on Israel's Mediterranean coast

At a secluded cliff overlooking the sea in Netanya, a group of UFO enthusiasts gathers after dark to investigate mysterious lights, share accounts of unexplained sightings and attempt to contact extraterrestrial beings through meditation
“Is that an airplane light?” I ask the experienced group of UFO investigators standing beside me in the darkness, on a rugged, towering cliff overlooking the Mediterranean Sea at the Iris Nature Reserve in Netanya, a coastal city north of Tel Aviv.
During our filmed interview, I spot a strange point of light on the horizon, moving rapidly from south to north before suddenly stopping in front of us. Within seconds, everyone is trying to figure out exactly what we are seeing.
Yoram Torbatian, 69, an energetic defense industry retiree and enthusiastic UFO investigator, gazes at the sky and announces: “I think we’re seeing the same unidentified flying object I saw and filmed right here on Sept. 3.”
Excitement builds among the local UFO enthusiasts, and everyone begins filming. I ask Torbatian whether he is certain it is not an airplane.
“Ninety percent,” he replies, before addressing the mysterious light with a request: “Our brothers from space, if you could come closer, we’d be happy to see you.”
Lior Abulafia, a veteran wildlife photographer who joined the ynet expedition to Netanya’s so-called Alien Hill, studies his camera screen and struggles to contain his excitement.
“Look at my phone. Do you see the energy it’s changing? Look, it’s like a light show, red, green. What is that? It’s strange.”
“Lior, you have a lot of experience photographing nature. What do you think we’re seeing?” I ask.
“I’ve never seen anything like this,” he replies in astonishment, as our adrenaline reaches its peak.
But not everyone is rushing to declare an encounter with extraterrestrial beings.
Omri Gilkis, 38, a multidisciplinary artist who practices CE5 meditation, a technique whose followers believe can facilitate communication with extraterrestrials, offers a somewhat less exciting explanation.
“If the light is coming directly toward us, it could be an airplane and we’re seeing its headlight. Judging by the angle of the light, I think it’s an ordinary airplane.”
“It was probably an airplane, not an unexplained phenomenon,” Torbatian, the veteran UFO investigator, concludes with disappointment.
And so ends our first encounter with what, for a moment, appeared to be an unidentified flying object in the skies over Netanya.
Netanya’s Iris Nature Reserve UFO hunters
We rewind half an hour. Unidentified flying objects have recently returned to the headlines in Israel, partly following footage of an unusual aerial object spotted near the Lebanese border that raised suspicions of a drone infiltration.
But at Netanya’s Alien Hill, people are searching for something entirely different.
Following accounts from local UFO enthusiasts about bright lights and supposedly unexplained phenomena along the coastline, from Beit Yanai to southern Netanya, we set out after sunset for the mysterious hill beside the Iris Nature Reserve in the southern part of the city.
