Those two departures, which are at least the sixth and seventh people to leave the investing team since the spring of 2016, have essentially stripped a shop with more than $1.2 billion in assets down to a bare-bones operation whose remaining senior full-time employees consist of Royan, CFO Anuja Royan (his sister), and a close ally named Paul Leggett.

That shrinking staff list might explain why the firm also removed the “Team” page from its website about two months ago, along with other tabs. Its entire website now features just a single substantive paragraph of information about the firm.

Forensic analysis suggests that as many as three weapons were fired at the Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday.

The FBI said Sunday that the shooter acted alone.

The first three shots were consistent with alleged weapon A, the next five were consistent with alleged weapon B, and the final “acoustic impulse” was emitted by a possible weapon C, per audio analysis by Catalin Grigoras, director of the National Center for Media Forensics at the University of Colorado in Denver, and Cole Whitecotton, Senior Professional Research Associate at the same institution.

Audio analysis has also confirmed that the gunman was about 360 to 393 feet from the podium, according to forensics expert Robert Maher.

This conclusion aligns with CNN’s analysis that the gunman was on a rooftop 393 to 492 feet from the podium when shots rang out.

The shots exemplify a “crack-pop” sequence, typical when a supersonic bullet passes a microphone, before the “arrival of the corresponding muzzle blast sound,” Maher, who teaches audio forensics at Montana State University, told CNN.

The time between these markers places the shooter 110 to 120 meters from the microphone, Maher said, assuming the bullet is moving at an average speed of 800 to 1,000 meters per second, the equivalent of 2,600 to 3,280 feet per second.

Trump at his campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, was rejected from his high school's rifle team, according to a former classmate. The classmate, Jameson Myers, graduated in 2022 with the gunman, whom the FBI identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, age 20. Myers was a member of the Bethel Park High School varsity rifle team and said he and Crooks were close in elementary school, but not in high school.

Crooks tried out for the rifle team his freshman year, Myers said, but did not make the junior varsity roster. Myers said Crooks did not return to try out for the team for the rest of high school. He called Crooks a "nice kid who never talked poorly of anyone==," and he said, "I never have thought him capable of anything I've seen him do in the last few days."

"When I did speak with him,he just seemed like a normal boy who was not particularly popular but never got picked on or anything," Myers said.

Fellow high school classmate Summer Barkley told CBS Pittsburgh station KDKA that although Crookswasn't popular, he still had a group of friends and was a good student beloved by teachers. She said she didn't see any red flagsthat would lead her to believe he would do something like this.

Another classmate, Jason Koehler, had a somewhat different view, telling KDKA that Crooks as a loner who was bullied for his appearance and wore camo/hunting outfits in class. He said Crooks would often sit in the cafeteria alone before class. He also said Crooks was very COVID-conscious and wore a surgical mask long after they were required.

But Mark Sigafoos, who graduated with Crooks and had two classes with him senior year, said he never saw him bullied. He described Crooks assuper smart and approachable, engaged in class and always volunteering answers. "This is one of the things that is being misconstrued —he was not some type of loner trenchcoat wearer. And I will sayhe was definitely nerdy, for sure, but he never gave off that he was creepy or like a school shooter," Sigafoos said. "He seemed like he wouldn't hurt a fly."
