I received my first MyPillow from my dad. He’s one of those people that kind of gets into fads, someone will introduce him to something and it’s the best thing since sliced bread until the next thing comes along. So when he said he’d gotten an amazing new pillow I humored him but didn’t pay attention.

I usually buy a couple of dept store pillows when they’re on sale and when they wear out in a couple of years from cleaning I just replace them with the next sale pillows. Dad told me “his” pillows were on sale so he was going to buy me one. I was due for a new one anyway so I shrugged it off and accepted.

I have to mention, I’m in law enforcement so I need a comfortable sleep. Well, the first night I slept on the MyPillow I woke up to my alarm going off. I set it by habit, but I’m always up long before it ever sounds. I’d had a very physical shift so I didn’t think anything of it. Same the next night. My third night, however, was on my day off so I wasn’t overtired. I went to bed and slept comfortably for a solid eight hours. No tossing around or waking up trying to get comfortable. After two weeks of this, I had to admit my dad was right. It was the best pillow he's ever had, and now I could say the same.

I now have four on my bed, two softer than my two original ones, and plan on getting a body pillow to help provide comfort after wearing my gear all day and sleeping on my side.

It sounds fake, or too good to be true, but trust me… I never take time to write reviews and I’m a real person, not getting anything out of putting this out there other than maybe helping someone else out like my dad did for me. I will never use another pillow again. Also, a huge plus I can just wash them at home.

‘Insufficient Evidence’: Justice Department Closes Probe Into Pennsylvania Discarded Ballots

The Department of Justice on Friday announced it closed an investigation into ballots that were discarded in Pennsylvania.

“After a thorough investigation conducted by the FBI and prosecutors from my office, we have determined that there is insufficient evidence to prove criminal intent on the part of the person who discarded the ballots,” acting U.S. Attorney Bruce Brandler said in a statement. “Therefore, no criminal charges will be filed and the matter is closed.”

Brandler recently replaced David Freed, the former U.S. attorney who last year revealed nine military absentee ballots had been tossed in Luzerne County. Freed resigned on Jan. 1. The U.S. attorney’s office declined to comment at the time about the investigation.

Luzerne County, with a population of about 317,000, sits in northeast Pennsylvania outside of Scranton.

The probe centered on who discarded the ballots, which were mostly for President Donald Trump. Freed also said investigators found four official, bar-coded, absentee ballot envelopes that were empty. Most of the material was found in a dumpster.

“The preliminary findings of this inquiry are troubling and the Luzerne County Bureau of Elections must comply with all applicable state and federal election laws and guidance to ensure that all votes—regardless of party—are counted to ensure an accurate election count,” Freed wrote in a letter to Shelby Watchilla, director of elections for Luzerne County, in September 2020.

He said interviews revealed staffers were improperly opening nearly all envelopes received, even though they weren’t supposed to open military ballots until Election Day. Opening any absentee ballot before then “violates the controlling statutes and is contrary to Pennsylvania Department of State guidance,” Freed said.

Luzerne County Manager David Pedri’s office later said a contractor was to blame for the discarded ballots. The contractor was fired but not charged. Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar, a Democrat, told reporters what happened was “a bad error” and “not intentional fraud.” The county and state didn’t respond to requests for comment.

FBI agents worked with Pennsylvania State Police officers to conduct the investigation. County election officials cooperated with law enforcement, federal officials said.

Trump mentioned the probe several times. He told reporters in Washington last year: “We have to be careful with the ballots. The ballots, that’s a whole big scam. You know they found, I understand, eight ballots in a waste paper basket in some location. They found, it was reported in one of the newspapers that they found a lot of ballots in a river. They throw them out if they have the name Trump on them I guess.”

The Russian Constitutional Crisis of 1993 was a political stand-off between the Russian president Boris Yeltsin and the Russian parliament that was resolved by military force.

The relations between the president and the parliament had been deteriorating for some time. The power struggle reached its crisis on 21 September 1993, when President Yeltsin intended to dissolve the country's highest body (Congress of People's Deputies) and parliament (Supreme Soviet). In response, the parliament declared the president's decision null and void, impeached Yeltsin and proclaimed vice president Aleksandr Rutskoy to be acting president.

On 3 October, demonstrators removed police cordons around the parliament and, urged by their leaders, took over the Mayor's offices and tried to storm the Ostankino television centre.

The army, which had initially declared its neutrality, stormed the Supreme Soviet building in the early morning hours of 4 October by Yeltsin's order, and arrested the leaders of the resistance.

- Presidential rule by decree imposed

- New constitution adopted
