In 1979, Chick Publications printed the first in a series of highly controversial comics based on the life of ex-Jesuit priest, Alberto Rivera. Once converted to Christ, Alberto began exposing the Vatican's most closely guarded secrets. His information shocked the world. The following are the seven publications that tell his story:

"Alberto" (1979) – The testimony of former Jesuit priest Alberto Rivera – how he found Christ and began to expose Rome's innermost secrets.

"Double Cross" (1981) – After his salvation, Alberto is a hunted man. No Jesuit can leave his order alive! He reveals the infiltration of Protestant organizations, and warns of false "brethren" in our midst. (The Vatican planned the infamous Jonestown massacre in Guyana in 1978. Jim Jones was a Jesuit under that secret oath with instructions from Rome to commit mass murder in order to discredit Christian camps.)

"The Godfathers" (1982) – This is the book the Catholic press is afraid to mention. Alberto tells how the Roman Catholic Institution, as the "Mother of Abominations" (Rev. 17), has caused many wars throughout history.

"The Force" (1983) – This comic reveals how the Vatican is using it’s occult force to deceive millions. The Vatican is the "habitation of devils" described in Rev. 18:2.

“The Four Horsemen” (1985) – Here's a clear description of how the papacy fulfills Bible prophecies of the antichrist described in Rev. 6:1-8.

"The Prophet" (1988) – Learn how the papacy helped start Islam, only to have this new daughter rebel against her. You'll understand the Arab's place in Bible prophecy.

Just like the Roman Empire

1. Moral Decay.

In the 2nd Century BC, Polybius wrote of a decline in moral virtue that led to the fall of the Republic. The same affliction appeared to damage the empire. The original ideals, values, and traditions upon which Rome was founded declined and were replaced by a notion that life was cheap and depravity, gluttony, and cruelty were the norm.

2. Government too Big

As is the case with all great empires, Rome was founded on a strong economic foundation. By its peak in 117 AD, the empire spanned approximately 1.5 million square kilometers and was inhabited by around 130 million people. Trade was crucial to the growth of the Roman economy and its outstanding transport system allowed a huge variety of goods to be imported across its borders. However, governing the empire was an expensive task with enormous military, administrative and logistical costs. A combination of several factors resulted in hyperinflation, heavy taxes, a localization of trade and ultimately, a crippling financial crisis.

3. Decline of the Military.

The power of the empire was supposed to be based on an active military which became a problem when the empire’s military strength waned.

4. The Split Empire

When Diocletian became emperor in 284 AD, he realized that it was no longer possible for one man to rule the vast empire. He made Maximian his co-emperor sometime in 285 AD with Empire split into east and west
