Bahrain says air defenses intercepted Iranian missiles, drones
Bahrain's Defense Force said on Thursday its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed several Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting the kingdom earlier in the day.
The military said Iran was continuing "its systematic hostile approach" through missile and drone attacks targeting civilians in Bahrain and described the attacks as "a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law."
It said all military units remained on high alert and urged the public not to approach suspicious objects that could be remnants of the attacks.
Iran asks UN Security Council to act over US strikes
Iran sent separate letters to the UN Security Council president and UN Secretary General António Guterres on Thursday, accusing the United States of launching widespread military attacks on Iranian territory.
Iran’s UN Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani said the attacks violated the UN Charter, Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and Washington’s international obligations.
He said the strikes also breached Article 2(4) of the UN Charter and Clause 1 of the memorandum of understanding between Tehran and Washington.

Iran says NATO shares responsibility for US-Israeli war
Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson said on Thursday that NATO allies that provided territory, bases or infrastructure for US-Israeli strikes on Iran shared responsibility for the war and its consequences.
Baghaei said NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte’s remarks showed Europe was not impartial in the US-Israeli strikes.
He also accused Rutte of trying to justify NATO’s role through praise for Washington.
Rutte said on Wednesday that new US attacks on Iran were “absolutely necessary” after Washington accused Tehran of violating the ceasefire, adding that the US had to “forcefully react” when Iran attacked ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
He also said NATO allies had supported the earlier US operation in Iran by providing European airports and infrastructure, comments Tehran cited as evidence that Europe shared responsibility for the war.

Strike near Ahvaz in southwest Iran kills three, official says
Three people were killed and several others wounded on Thursday in a strike near Ahvaz, a city in Iran’s southwestern Khuzestan province, a provincial security official said.
Valiollah Hayati, the deputy governor for security and law enforcement affairs in Khuzestan, said a site around Ahvaz was targeted in what he called a US-Israeli attack.

US struck 90 Iranian military targets along coast - CENTCOM
US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Wednesday that US forces carried out another round of strikes against Iran, targeting about 90 military sites along the country’s coastline in an effort to reduce Tehran’s ability to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement, CENTCOM said the strikes hit air defense systems, coastal surveillance assets, missile and drone storage sites, naval capabilities and military logistics infrastructure. It said the latest operation followed strikes the previous night and came after Iran attacked three commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, according to the command.
"CENTCOM forces hit approximately 80 Iranian military targets July 7, including more than 60 Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps small boats, to impose heavy costs for Iran violating the ceasefire by attacking three commercial vessels navigating the Strait of Hormuz," it added.

White House prepares for prolonged Iran exchange over Strait - Axios
The White House is preparing for a possible multi-day or even multi-week exchange of fire with Iran over the Strait of Hormuz, with the duration and intensity of the escalation depending on Tehran’s next moves, Axios reported, citing US officials.
A US official said that parts of Iran’s leadership were unhappy with recent developments and “started shooting,” prompting Washington to respond with a stronger military response. The official said the US was willing to wait for a deal but would not accept an agreement that did not meet its demands, the report added.
The report said the current escalation could last from “a day or two” to “a week or a month,” depending on whether Iran continues attacks on commercial ships in the strategic waterway. It added that a campaign that began with efforts to degrade Iran’s missile capabilities and nuclear program has evolved into an open-ended confrontation over one of the world’s most important energy chokepoints.

IRGC says missile and drone strikes hit US bases in Kuwait and Bahrain
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Wednesday its naval and aerospace forces carried out a joint missile and drone operation targeting US bases in Kuwait and Bahrain, adding that "key infrastructure and facilities at the bases were hit."
The statement said the strikes targeted Arifjan and Ali Al Salem bases in Kuwait, as well as Juffair and Sheikh Isa bases in Bahrain. The IRGC warned that further US attacks would lead to additional responses against American bases in the region.

US CENTCOM announced the completion of its most recent round of strikes against Iran, in which forces struck around 90 Iranian military targets. There were reports of fresh explosions in Bandar Abbas, Sirik and Hormozgan. There have also been reports of explosions in Abu Musa Island and Bushehr. Nour news reported that the attack on Bushehr did not cause any damage to the nuclear power plant.
The IRGC later announced that two US bases in Kuwait and two base in Bahrain were attacked and threatened that response will be extended to other US bases in the region if the US repeats its attacks.
Trump said Iran was just hit very hard and we have many ways to win. He added that he do not know if Iran will honor a deal but Iran wants to make a deal badly.

Just as the US nighttime strikes were significantly bigger than prior rounds in June, so has Iran's 'retaliation' been bigger - chiefly on Gulf states and American bases there.
In the overnight and Thursday daytime hours, Iranian ballistic missiles and drones have targeted Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and even faraway Jordan. The country is reporting that it has intercepted several missiles, which targeted Muwaffaq Salti Air Base - jointly operated by US and Jordanian forces. Oil prices have persisted above prewar levels on Thursday.
"Jordan has intercepted eight Iranian missiles in its airspace after sirens sounded across the country, according to the armed forces," reports Al Jazeera. "Falling shrapnel did not cause any casualties or material damage, it added."
Following the US bombing of the Islamic Republic for a second consecutive night, which came after Iranian forces sought to enforce its own shipping route and protocol on the Strait of Hormuz (which saw several international vessels attacked), Tehran has newly confirmed it in turn struck "US bases and strategic centers” in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar.
In particular the IRGC has claimed that two US bases in Kuwait and two base in Bahrain were attacked - and the Iranian elite force is threatening more to come. US Central Command (CENTCOM) says the rate of its strikes have grown to about 14 times the number of targets hit in the last late June flare-up in fighting.

A former police detective involved in the investigations of roughly 250 sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) cases claimed that roughly 50% occurred within 48 hours of a vaccination.
In a video interview today with The Defender, the detective, who gave only her first name, “Jennifer,” said she and her husband were detectives in the police department of a major U.S. city with a population of over 300,000 for a combined seven years, from roughly 2003 to 2010.
Jennifer said she is keeping her last name and city name undisclosed to protect her family. She said:
“The pharmaceutical industry does not want to be threatened by those sorts of secrets coming out. So, I’m a mother of many children, and their safety is my number one priority, my family’s safety. I’m a mama bear before I’m anything else.”
Jennifer said she hadn’t initially questioned the safety of vaccines. But that changed when she noticed a recurrent pattern among the police reports for SIDS cases in her unit.

NEWARK, N.J. – A resident alien in New Jersey was arrested and charged with illegally voting in a federal election and making false statements while applying for United States citizenship, U.S. Attorney Robert Frazer announced today.
Marian Charitun, 62, of Middlesex County, was charged by criminal complaint with voting by an alien in a federal election, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 611; and procurement of citizenship or naturalization unlawfully, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1425(a). He had his initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael A. Hammer in Newark federal court.
According to documents filed in this case and statements made in court:
In order to register to vote and vote in federal elections, a person must be a United States citizen. Charitun was not a citizen of the United States when he registered to vote in New Jersey. On his voter registration form, however, Charitun falsely certified and attested that he was a United States citizen. After his application to register was approved, Charitun, still without United States citizenship, voted in the November 8, 2022 midterm election that was held in part for the purpose of electing a Member of the United States House of Representatives.
Then, after illegally voting in a federal election, Charitun applied to become a United States citizen by submitting an application for naturalization (an “N-400”). An N-400 requires the applicant to swear under penalty of perjury that the information provided in the application is complete, true, and correct. However, Charitun falsely claimed in his N-400 to have never registered to vote or to have voted in any federal elections.
If convicted, the count of voting by an alien in a federal election carries a maximum penalty of 1 year in prison. The count of unlawful procurement of citizenship or naturalization carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
U.S. Attorney Frazer credited special agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge Stefanie Roddy; Homeland Security Investigations, under the direction of Acting Special Agent in Charge Spiros Karabinas; and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, with the investigation.
This case was brought under the United States Attorney’s Office’s Election Integrity Task Force, a coalition of federal law enforcement partners focused on preserving and protecting the integrity of elections conducted in the District of New Jersey.
The government is represented by Assistant U.S. Attorney Benjamin D. Bleiberg of the U.S. Attorney’s Office’s Criminal Division.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

CHINA HAS REACHED EARTH'S MINI-MOON
Everyone knows that Earth has a Moon. But did you know that it also has a mini-Moon? This week, a spacecraft from China pulled up alongside it.
On July 6th, the China National Space Administration (CNSA) announced that its Tianwen-2 probe has arrived at asteroid 469219 Kamoʻoalewa, a space rock that loops around our planet about once per year.
Snapped from about 20 km away, this 'first contact' photo reveals a house-sized body tumbling once every 28 minutes. That means it's probably a solid object, not a rubble pile that would easily spin apart.
Kamoʻoalewa is not a true moon. It is a "quasi-satellite," tracing lazy corkscrews around Earth while actually orbiting the sun in near-lockstep with our planet. Discovered by the Pan-STARRS telescope in Hawaii in 2016, its name comes from a Hawaiian chant and means, roughly, "oscillating celestial fragment."
This isn't Earth's only mini-Moon; there are at least 7 others. However, Kamoʻoalewa stands out as the most stable. It is expected to remain a quasi-satellite for centuries. That stability made it an attractive target for China's growing space program.
Kamoʻoalewa looks like a chip off of something bigger. But what?
Some researchers believe it is a piece of the Moon, blasted into space by the impact that dug lunar crater Giordano Bruno. Others argue it wandered in from the asteroid belt. Tianwen-2 could settle the debate by bringing a piece of the mini-Moon home.
In the months ahead, the spacecraft will scout sampling sites using cameras and radar. Then comes the hard part: Grabbing material from a rapidly-spinning space rock. Tianwen-2 will try three different techniques: a touch-and-go tag like NASA's OSIRIS-REx, a hover-and-scoop with a robotic arm, and an "anchor and attach" maneuver that would fasten the probe directly to the rock's surface. Mission planners hope one of them will work.
If all goes well, Tianwen-2 will leave Kamoʻoalewa on April 24, 2027China's National Space Dayand drop its sample capsule into Earth's atmosphere in late November 2027. The spacecraft itself won't stop: it will sling past Earth toward Comet 311P/PANSTARRS.

Asylum seeker sought by police after New York mom found dead

An asylum seeker was on the run last night, after a mum was beaten to death in her own home.
The Middle Eastern suspect is now being hunted over the brutal murder in Co Kerry, Ireland, yesterday of an American-born mum of one, who had lived in Killarney for the past five years. She was named locally as Jamey Carney, the mother to a 13-year-old girl. Gardai (police) are set to launch a murder inquiry as early as Wednesday morning.
The asylum seeker suspect, who was known to Ms. Carney, previously lived in France, and there were fears last night that he may now try to flee Ireland after the killing.
"There is a major search for him," a source told us last night.
We have learned the suspect, who is in his 20s, has been living at an IPAS center in Killarney, but knew Ms. Carney and occasionally stayed at her house in the Muckross Road area of the town, where her body was found yesterday afternoon.
He is believed to have been living in Ireland since the middle of 2024 and was an applicant for international protection.
Ms. Carney, who was a native of New York, was found dead in her bed after her young daughter raised the alarm to a family friend at around 1:20 p.m. yesterday when she became concerned for her welfare.
That friend then contacted a man she knew, who immediately phoned gardai. Officers then rushed to the scene, but Ms. Carney, 43, was then pronounced dead in her own bed. Sources tell us Ms. Carney's body had been hidden by a duvet being placed over her.
We have learned that she suffered serious head injuries after being subjected to a brutal attack - and gardai are set to launch a murder inquiry.
"There is no doubt she was murdered," a source said.
Although her body was found at around 1:30 p.m., sources tell us investigators believe Ms. Carney was beaten to death late on Monday night or into the early hours of yesterday, and lay dead in her bed for up to 13 hours.
"It probably happened overnight," a source confirmed.
We have also learned that the sound of an argument between Ms. Carney and a man could be heard in the house late on Monday night.
Ms. Carney was well known in the area, even though she had only been in Ireland for around five years.
Local non-party councilor Martin Grady had provided her with professional assistance in recent years and said the entire community was devastated by her death.
"I knew her well. Everyone is really shocked, " he said.
He added: "She was a loving mother and a very hard worker. I would encourage people to help gardai in this investigation.
"No matter how big or small the information they have, please just give it to the gardai. This is an absolute tragedy."
And fellow councilor John O'Donoghue, of Kerry Independent Alliance, who knew Ms Carney to see, said: "The air has just gone out of the town. It is cloaked in sadness."
Ms. Carney was also heavily involved in the local Palestine support campaign and was well known and respected in the town.
Gardai appealed for witnesses last night. The force said in a statement, "Gardaí and emergency services responded to an incident at a domestic residence this afternoon. A woman, aged in her 40s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
"The State Pathologist has been notified, and a post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course. The scene is currently preserved for technical examination.
"A Senior Investigating Officer has been appointed to lead the investigation. An incident room has been established at Killarney Garda station."
It added: "Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.
"Anyone who was in the Muckross Road area of Killarney between the evening of the 6th and the afternoon of the 7th of July 2026 and who may have camera footage, including CCTV or dashcam, is asked to provide this footage to investigating Gardaí.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact Killarney Garda Station on 064 667 1160, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station. Investigations are ongoing."
Ms. Carney was originally from New York and just a few days ago took to social media to wish fellow Americans happy Independence Day on July 4.
And she also posted how much she enjoyed attending a concert in Dublin by The Cure last week.

Space Force delivers rapid tech awards for commercial industry

The Space Force awarded seven Other Transaction Authority agreements in May and June 2026 and plans to award an additional six in July for a total of 13 awards and more than $500M to a diverse coalition of commercial providers for advanced technology development in support of the Space Combat Power portfolio.
With the recent establishment of Portfolio Acquisition Executives, PAEs now have increased authority to make technology investments that are directly relevant to their most pressing needs for programs in their operational mission area.
“This kind of award illustrates how a ‘tech pull’ strategy enables Space Force capabilities keep pace with the threat,” said Col. Bryon McClain, acting Portfolio Acquisition Executive for Space Combat Power.
This acquisition effort is designed to rapidly integrate advanced commercial capabilities into the national security space architecture while aggressively bolstering the domestic space industrial base.
These efforts are also in partnership with the Air Force Research Laboratory, the Missile Defense Agency and National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and are capitalizing on their expertise and experience in these mission areas.
The selected vendors will immediately begin competing for Task Orders to prototype, test, and field technologies that support joint warfighting operations worldwide.

Saudi Arabia, GCC condemn Iranian attacks on regional states
Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council in separate statements on Thursday condemned Iran’s attacks on Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan and warned against threats to regional security and freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry said the attacks violated the sovereignty of “brotherly countries” and called for an immediate halt to all Iranian attacks on countries in the region.
In a separate statement, the GCC called for the Strait of Hormuz to remain open, rejected any unilateral arrangements and urged guarantees for freedom of navigation without tolls or passage fees.
The council said Iran bore full responsibility for the attacks and that any attack on one GCC member state was a direct attack on all.

An interesting report from Bloomberg following a survey conducted by KPMG of Canadian manufacturers.Keep in mind this is a survey of companies within Canada that do traditional manufacturing of products; this is not a survey of companies that assemble foreign goods for export – there is a substantial difference.
As noted within the report,approximately 10% of Canadian GDP comes from Canadian manufacturing. Within that sector there are multiple companies now planning or considering moving out of Canada into the United States.
Many will claim the trigger for the consideration is based on the potential elimination of the USMCA (CUSMA) trade agreement, and there is truth to that aspect. However, the systemic issues within Canada -including energy policy, regulation and corporate tax burdens- represent the larger problem; the termination of the USMCA is the straw that breaks their back.
The domestic hurdles to manufacturing, are thebigger issues that cannot be negotiated awayin U.S-Canada trade agreements. Specifically, the low-price and stable energy policies are the core consistencies that are no longer present in Canada; that fundamental cannot be easily fixed.

In the overnight and Thursday daytime hours, Iranian ballistic missiles and drones have targeted Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and even faraway Jordan. The country is reporting that it has intercepted several missiles, which targeted Muwaffaq Salti Air Base - jointly operated by US and Jordanian forces. Oil prices have persisted above prewar levels on Thursday.
"Jordan has intercepted eight Iranian missiles in its airspace after sirens sounded across the country, according to the armed forces," reports Al Jazeera. "Falling shrapnel did not cause any casualties or material damage, it added."
Following the US bombing of the Islamic Republic for a second consecutive night, which came after Iranian forces sought to enforce its own shipping route and protocol on the Strait of Hormuz (which saw several international vessels attacked), Tehran has newly confirmed it in turn struck "US bases and strategic centers” in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar.
In particular the IRGC has claimed that two US bases in Kuwait and two base in Bahrain were attacked - and the Iranian elite force is threatening more to come. US Central Command (CENTCOM) says the rate of its strikes have grown to about 14 times the number of targets hit in the last late June flare-up in fighting.

Senator Mitch McConnell has been hospitalized since June 14. Speculation about his health has spread in recent days.
Gov. Andy Beshear of Kentucky sent a letter to Senator Mitch McConnell on Wednesdaydemanding that he update his constituents on his health as rumors swirlabout the Republican senator’s condition after his hospitalization last month.
Mr. McConnell, 84, has been in the hospital since June 14, when medics were called to his Washington address to respond to a report of an unconscious individual. A worker later informed his supervisor over emergency radio that CPR was “in progress.”
Mr. McConnell’s staff members have not disclosed what prompted his hospitalization or what treatment he is receiving. On Tuesday, several Republicans said they had spoken to Mr. McConnell for about 20 minutes each.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — The Southern Poverty Law Center, best known for monitoring hate groups, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to federal charges that it defrauded donors by not disclosing that some of the money would be used to pay informants in extremist organizations.
Attorney Abbe Lowell entered the not guilty plea on behalf of the organization to a superseding indictment that adds details about the charges first announced in April.
The Justice Department has accused the SPLC of funding extremist groups while publicly claiming it was working to dismantle them. The SPLC has denied wrongdoing and said the informant program provided critical intelligence about the work of the groups — information it regularly provided to law enforcement agencies.
The SPLC has accused the Justice Department of carrying out a vindictive prosecution as part of a retribution campaign against President Donald Trump’s perceived political enemies.
The superseding indictment alleges that $4.1 million in donations were used to pay informants inside extremist groups. Prosecutors said some of the money was used for recruiting new members and purchasing Ku Klux Klan robes and materials for cross-burning ceremonies.
The indictment said the paid informants included KKK members and white nationalists who initially approached the SPLC for help leaving the extremist organizations but were offered monthly payments and expense reimbursements.
The brief Tuesday arraignment was conducted remotely. The case is scheduled to go to trial in October.

John Deere says farmers and ranchers will have greater access to the diagnostic software and repair tools needed to maintain and repair their equipment under a new agreement that resolves the company's long-running antitrust case with the Federal Trade Commission and five states.
Announced July 8, the settlement formalizes access for farmers and independent repair providers to the same repair resources already available to its authorized dealer network. The agreement closes the FTC lawsuit filed in early 2025 while placing Deere under regulatory oversight for the next 10 years.
The case, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, had accused Deere of using its proprietary software tools and dealer network to monopolize the repair markets for its large tractors and combines.
According to the plaintiffs — including attorneys general in Illinois, Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin — Deere's practices have forced farmers to rely exclusively on its authorized dealers for critical repairs, limiting competition and driving up costs. At the center of the lawsuit was Deere's Service ADVISOR, a software tool available only to authorized Deere dealers. The plaintiffs argued that this tool is essential for diagnosing and repairing electronic issues in modern Deere equipment and that a stripped-down version made available to customers and independent repair providers, known as Customer Service ADVISOR, lacked critical functionality.
The settlement "is good news for our customers and for the future of how Deere equipment is supported," said Denver Caldwell, vice president of aftermarket and customer support for John Deere. "Producers and equipment operators demand flexible and world class capabilities enabling the maintenance and repair of their machines; we are and will continue to deliver on that expectation."
Under the settlement, Deere must make available to farmers and independent repair providers software capabilities that allow them to read and reset fault codes, reprogram electronic components, restart equipment following emissions-related shutdowns, and access technical manuals and troubleshooting information. The agreement also requires Deere to make future repair tools available as they are introduced across its dealer network and prohibits retaliation against customers or independent repair shops that use those resources.

On June 1 2026, Federal Premium Ammunition announced that the U.S. Army had officially licensed the patent for Peak Alloy ammunition. Federal Premium Ammunition developed the cartridge due to solicitations by the U.S. military; it and premiered it in February 2025 in a cartridge known as 7mm Backcountry.
Traditional ammunition is made from brass cases, which tap out at around 60,000 PSI – any more than that and a brass case would rupture. However, Peak Alloy provides a much stronger, safe case design that allows pressures of more than 80,000 PSI.
High-pressure rounds are designed to give our soldiers better range and a flatter shooting profile, overall, in order to make them more lethal on the individual level.
The military is investing heavily in high-pressure ammunition. For example, the replacement of the M4A1 with the M7 and M8 rifles was based on using a high-pressure 6.8mm cartridge.
To make the M7 cartridge work, the military used a hybrid case type that combined a stainless steel base with a brass case using an aluminum locking washer. But this case type is complicated, expensive, and more difficult to produce than traditional cartridges. It also has more failure points, and it is unsure how much water resistance it offers.
In contrast, Federal’s Peak Alloy doesn’t uses a traditional one-piece case made from a steel alloy.
Steel cases have been used for decades, particularly in Eastern Europe, as they were traditionally cheaper to produce. However, Peak Alloy’s design is different than that of older steel ammunition.
The alloy portion of the cartridge gives it some of the same benefits as brass, namely, it can be easily reloaded, and both expands and contracts inside the chamber creating a seal for better pressure and allowing it to be extracted with ease.
Peak Alloy uses a fast-burning gunpowder to generate the additional pressure. By weight alone, you can improve the velocity of a projectile with less gunpowder as long as it burns faster.
BENEFITS OF HIGHER-PRESSURE CARTRIDGES
The higher pressure curve allows projectiles fired from Peak Alloy to reach higher velocities. When we combine higher velocity with modern projectiles, we increase the projectile’s effective range, its terminal effects on target, and penetration against cover.
There are a number of benefits to using Peak Alloy and high-pressure cartridges. First, they are compatible with shorter barrels and suppressor-configured rifles.
With a traditional 5.56mm round, the gunpowder requires about 20 inches of barrel to reach peak potential because the gunpowder is still burning throughout the barrel’s length.
But if you use a fast-burning gunpowder, you don’t need as long a barrel to reach higher velocities. This allows you to achieve better performance with shorter barrels.
Peak Alloy could potentially be used for the M7 and M8 rifles, creating a simpler projectile case.
The Army’s procurement of Peak Alloy covers rounds up to .50 caliber, allowing the branch to use the technology for any small arm in its arsenal. With SOCOM seeking an M855A1+ cartridge for the HICAR program, it wouldn’t be surprising if Peak Alloy becomes part of that equation.
This technology could also be applied to rifles and machine guns, specifically in the gap between 5.56mm and .50 BMG.
Peak Alloy might be the missing link that makes these high-pressure rounds work – and work with greater simplicity. It’s an exciting new bit of technology, and I’m curious to see how the Army will apply it and what we will see in the near future.

Alien mystery is back on the agenda in Washington, after former NASA Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) study member Mike Gold claimed that US officials are now actively working on declassifying previously secret UFO material and urged investigators to scour NASA's vast space archives for unreleased footage.
In an interview with journalist Ross Coulthart, Gold said the next phase of disclosure would reach well beyond the three public 'tranches' of records already released under President Donald Trump.
The UFO and alien research community, which has complained that each new cache of government documents has looked more like a re-packaging exercise than a genuine lifting of the veil.

Instead, he described them as the 'low-hanging fruit' of transparency, in which already‑known or easier‑to‑release material was packaged up for public consumption while more contentious files remained behind the classification wall.
'There's not a fourth tranche coming. There's an entire process... working on declassification,' Gold said, suggesting that the conversation inside government has shifted from whether to release records to how far and how fast officials can go.
His choice of words matters; 'process' is bureaucratic code for something grinding forward but resisting firm deadlines.
Gold did not promise a dramatic alien reveal on a particular date, or new crash‑retrieval documents ready to drop.

The Czech Republic remains skeptical about NATO’s strategy of continued military support for Ukraine, to which it does not contribute financially, Prime Minister Andrej Babis said as he left the bloc leaders’ summit in Ankara, Türkiye on Wednesday.
Babis’ party won last year’s election on a nationalist platform that included reversing the Ukraine aid policy championed by his predecessor, Petr Fiala, and urging a diplomatic resolution of the conflict with Russia instead.
The declaration approved by NATO leaders in Ankara this week highlighted apledge of €70 billion ($80 billion) in military equipment, assistance and training for Ukraine in 2026, with a similar amount expected the following year. The money is not a new package, but rather past commitments, including the European Union’s “loan” approved in April.The Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovakia opted out of the mechanism.
We are not at war. Ukraine is at war,” Babis told reporters on Wednesday, when asked whether NATO’s increasing spending would pressure Moscow to negotiate, adding, “I don’t know, time will tell.” The prime minister said discussions during the summit focused on weapons rather than peace.
Babis said the Czech Republic intended to reach the required NATO level of 2% of GDP level for military spending next year, but also needed money for healthcare, raising police salaries, and other domestic priorities.
Kremlin calls US backing of Ukrainian escalation delusional
Ukraine is seeking additional Western funding to ramp up long-range kamikaze drone attacks on Russian oil refineries, tankers and other targets. During a US-Ukrainian meeting on the sidelines of the NATO summit, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio claimed the escalation “creates the space to negotiate the end of this war,” with President Donald Trump endorsing his reasoning.
Commenting on the American remarks on Thursday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the US leadership was basing its policy on “delusions that escalation and military pressure leads to a peaceful settlement track.” The approach may prolong hostilities, but would also prompt Russia to “create a bigger buffer zone” with Ukraine, he warned.
Czech coalition strained by aid payment
The aid issue caused tensions in the Czech ruling coalition just before the summit, after Foreign Minister Petr Macinka announced the transfer of an unspecifiedsum to PURL, a NATO fund through which European members pay for American weapons intended for Kiev.
Parliament speaker Tomio Okamura, a vocal critic of Ukraine, blasted the move for going against the coalition agreement, but Babis sided with Macinka, saying the money had been allocated by the Fiala government and could not be returned to the budget.The prime minister said the one-off small contribution to purchase interceptor drones was preferable to a direct transfer to the Ukrainian government.

The president of Argentina will present a series of legislative proposals aimed at reforming the Central Bank. The goal is to relaunch the administration and get past the nearly four-month crisis in which it has been mired.1/2
Javier Milei is looking to deepen his unconditional alignment with Donald Trump. The president of Argentina follows the geopolitical viewpoints of the U.S. leader, has made Trump’s friends and enemies his own,and even signed a free trade agreement with him, having visited the United States 17 times since his election. And now, Milei seeks to adopt the same mechanism for ordering a halt to public spending when budget appropriations run out or expire — a process known in the United States as a government shutdown.
“We are working on bringing about a shutdown of the executive branch — or more accurately put, of the political system,” Milei announced on Tuesday. “When the budget runs out, you can’t spend any more, and the government shuts down,” the far-right president explained, adding he would submit such a measure to Congress as a bill.
That initiative will be part of a package of reforms that Milei looks to move forward in a kind of relaunch of his administration. With it, the president wants to get back control, and get past the nearly four-month crisis in which his administration has been mired, which revolves around the corruption investigation of Manuel Adorni, his former cabinet chief who is among his closest allies. Adorni wound up resigning from his position 10 days ago, amid a judicial siege and immense public disapproval.
On Monday, Milei’s administration presented its financial plan for this and next year in the intention of calming markets prior to the country’s payment deadlines of over $45 billion. Then on Tuesday, the president announced he would be promoting the shutdown mechanism, along with other measures, to limit public spending, while he continues to take a chainsaw to the government in pursuit of financial surplus, the guiding principle of his economic plan.
He announced details of that plan on the streaming network Neura, after celebrating the Argentinian soccer team’s World Cup tournament win. The initiative, he shared, is linked to an ongoing project to reform the country’s Central Bank statute, to guarantee its “independence” from political powers, and prohibit it from issuing new currency to finance the treasury.
The project, Milei said, is “interrelated” with others that are currently being developed, such as amendments to the capital markets law, a new “fiscal amnesty” program (the government’s term for the legalization of undeclared money or assets), the deregulation of the insurance market, and changes to tax structures. “It is a set of reforms designed to make amends for 91 years of political fraud against law-abiding Argentinians,” Milei stated. On Tuesday afternoon, he led a meeting on details of the bill at the president’s official residence in Olivos, on the outskirts of Buenos Aires, where he met with Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo; Minister of Deregulation, Federico Sturzenegger and the head of the Central Bank, Santiago Bausili.
“It is going to prohibit, explicitly and subject to criminal penalties, the violation of the Central Bank’s independence by requiring it to finance the government,” said Milei. He compared the issuance of currency to sustain public spending with a criminal act, and argued it should besubject to penalties, saying, “fraud and counterfeiting are criminal offenses.”

The far-right leader seeks to reverse changes introduced in 2012 to the Central Bank’s charter. At that time, under Cristina Kirchner’s presidential administration, the “primary and fundamental” function of the bank to “preserve the value of currency” was changed for a more ample mission: “to promote monetary stability, financial stability, employment and economic development with social equity.” According to Milei, that multiple aim constitutes “an insult to the intellect.”
In the United States, government shutdown takes place when Congress fails to pass public spending bills or temporary funding authorizations in a timely and proper manner. At such a point, state governments must suspend non-essential activities in light of a lack of funds to sustain them. The last time this took place was between October and November of last year, when the Trump administration remained under partial closure for 43 days, the longest shutdown in the country’s history.
Argentina’s current system does not provide for the suspension of government activities if there is no budget law in effect. In fact, Milei governed during the first two years of his term, 2024 and 2025, with no Congress-approved budget.
In the South American country, the absence of a budget law entails an extension of the previous year’s distribution of funds, with adjustments stipulated by the executive branch. When Milei releases the text of his legislative proposal, the reach of his reform will become more clear, including whether the government will become inactive without an approved budget, as it does in the United States.

Restoration work began after the president saw “door dings in the pillars” and ordered up repairs, the interior secretary said.
President Trump has begun his latest White House construction project: repairs to the iconic columns of the historic building’s front entrance.
Workers have set up scaffolding by the North Portico columns, and on Thursday they dropped a covering over the side closest to the West Wing as the work got underway.
A statement from the White House described the construction as standard restoration work, including stone repair.
In a recent interview on “The Katie Miller Podcast,” Doug Burgum, the interior secretary, said Mr. Trump had ordered the repairs after seeing damage to the pillars.
At the White House, you see the scaffolding on the North Portico right now,” Mr. Burgum said.“President Trump comes out to greet a world leader, he sees door dings in the pillars and says, ‘Look at all this stuff that needs to be repaired.’”
“It’s all historic renovation work,” he added. “We’re restoring the plaster, and not just at the door level —all the way up to the crowns of those towers.”
Mr. Trump has undertaken a Washington construction spree unlike any president before him,proposing at least 18 major construction projects with a potential cost of more than $1 billion.Much of it has been contentious, as Mr. Trump has skirted or tried to run roughshod over the normal review processes and sometimes bypass laws that would seemingly block him.
The columns join several other projects Mr. Trump has begun at the White House. None has spawned more fury than his sudden demolition of the White House’s East Wingto make way for a large ballroom. Work on that has already turned much of the White House grounds into a construction zone.
The construction on the columns appears set to be more modest. Rodney Mims Cook Jr., the Trump-appointed chairman of the Commission of Fine Arts, which advises on construction in Washington,has said he recommended changing the Ionic columns of the White House to a more ornate Corinthian design, which he described as the highest order in classical architecture. But he said Mr. Trump rejected that idea.

Another corrupt Illinois Democrat family caught with their hands in the till.
Urbana Democrat State Representative Carol Ammons and her husband, Champaign County Clerk Aaron Ammons, were indicted Tuesday by a federal grand jury on multiple felony counts including wire fraud, false statements, and conspiracy to obstruct justice.
The indictment lays out a brazen scheme where Ammons allegedly used her campaign committee, Friends of Carol Ammons, to issue overpayments and then took cash kickbacks disguised as “gifts.”
At the same time, she used her position as a state lawmaker to steer massive state grants to friendly nonprofits that then put her daughter Titianna Ammons on the payroll, WCIA reported.
According to the federal indictment:
Carol Ammons allegedly caused campaign funds to be paid to herself and family members through excess checks and then received cash kickbacks to hide the scheme. She also falsely reported expenditures to the Illinois State Board of Elections.
She helped secure over $1.6 million in state grants for nonprofits including:
Bridgewater Sullivan Community Life Center ($612,000 grant) — where daughter Titianna was paid more than $60,000 as Program Director (Ammons even helped draft her employment contract).
Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center (over $1 million in grants) — where Titianna was paid nearly $10,000 as a digital marketing coordinator.
Another grant to Hood Vote that also funneled money to the daughter.
Prosecutors say Ammons and her daughter received financial benefits in excess of $100,000 through this web of campaign misuse and grant steering between 2017 and roughly 2023.
This latest indictment comes just one month after Carol Ammons’ daughter Titianna Ammons was federally indicted in June 2026 on three counts of wire fraud for allegedly collecting COVID-era unemployment benefits while she was being paid by her mother’s campaign and serving as a Champaign County Board member.
The indictment gets even uglier. Carol Ammons is accused of lying to an FBI agent in 2024 about her knowledge of the conflicts.
Her husband Aaron Ammons allegedly engaged in witness tampering, telling a potential witness the actions were “nothing illegal,” directing them to “muddy the waters” with investigators, using code words, and even passing notes that were later destroyed.
They are charged with conspiring to obstruct the federal investigation.

(Bloomberg) — The UK and France’s plans to de-mine the Strait of Hormuz were dealt a setback after a fresh attacks on vessels passing through the waterway, days after Oman granted the European powers permission to help clear its southern route.
British and French mine-hunting vessels and forces are positioned to begin a limited de-mining operation in Omani waters when a military order is given, according to officials from the two European countries, who asked not to be identified as the plans haven’t been made public.
That’s after a diplomatic breakthrough was achieved in persuading Oman to endorse the mission, announced by the UK and France on July 4.
The timing remains unclear, with some officials saying before the early Tuesday attack on Qatari-owned liquefied natural gas carrier that the operation could begin as soon as this week. Others warned it won’t start imminently due to complexities and need for more stable conditions.

The officials say that’s in part due to the sensitive timing, with some concerned that the move risks antagonizing Iran. The Islamic Republic is observing a weeklong mourning period for late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and despite an interim agreement with the US in June to end their four-month war, Iran continues to insist it should retain control of the trade chokepoint.
Oman notified Iran of the diplomatic progress, while the UK and France are communicating with the US, the officials said.
Informal discussions on Iran and the Strait of Hormuz are expected to take place between leaders at the NATO summit in Turkey this week, they said.
A formal operation to de-mine the waterway could help reassure shipowners and insurers that the world’s most important energy transit passage is safe to use, though occasional attacks such as Tuesday’s have heightened unease about safety.
Iran effectively closed the strait when the US and Israel began airstrikes on the Islamic Republic in late February, and future management of the chokepoint — including fees — has become a major negotiation topic in ongoing peace talks.
Industry groups have cautioned that even though a ceasefire between the US and Iran remains in place, the presence of mines is a major risk for ships.
Two routes are available when transiting Hormuz, one that runs close to Iran and another that hugs the Omani coastline. The Omani route was recently widened to allow for traffic to both enter and exit Hormuz simultaneously, though it’s unclear how the widening occurred. At least two mines have reportedly been spotted close to that corridor since it came into use.
Iran has repeatedly said that it won’t let vessels transit Hormuz without its permission, and some ships recently diverted north to exit the Persian Gulf through Tehran’s waters, rather than the Oman corridor.
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi told Iran state TV on June 29 that mine-clearance in the area is the sole responsibility of Iran and “we have warned the Omanis that other countries have no right to interfere in this matter.”
The UK-France statement on Oman was intentionally vague. They said Muscat had agreed to “work closely” to “support” their efforts to “restore freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and provide shipping with the reassurance needed to transit through the Strait.”
One official said that Oman agreed to provide military protection to British and French forces, which was behind President Emmanuel Macron’s decision to return French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle to its home port after a near two-month deployment near the strait.
The operation — which would be confined to Omani territorial waters — would act as a pre-cursor to the broader multinational mission the UK and France have been preparing to escort ships through the strait once a permanent peace deal is reached. Europe wants to conduct the wider mission — which would require its minehunting vessels to enter Iranian waters — in coordination with Iran.

Although Donald Trump’s defenders describe the Russia hoax and other efforts to frame the president as a "grand conspiracy," RealClearInvestigations has learned that the man now leading the probe of that scandal is pursuing multiple conspiracy prosecutions that are smaller and more manageable, according to several sources with direct knowledge of the probe.
Since taking over the Justice Department’s far-flung investigation in April, veteran prosecutor Joseph diGenova and his team quickly concluded that combining all of the alleged wrongdoing, which ranges from falsifying evidence and committing perjury to leaking classified information and obstructing justice, into one unified plot and trying them together as a single case would be unmanageable.
“You’d have 50 defendants in the courtroom,” said a well-placed source familiar with diGenova’s thinking.
Joseph diGenova is leading the first holistic probe of Russiagate scandal.
Before diGenova took over the investigation two months ago, its contours were ill-defined as it lurched ahead in fits and starts for more than a year. But according to the sources, diGenova is tackling the case with a new, disciplined focus and in so doing is giving it the direction it’s lacked.
But this is a change in tactics, not the theory of the case. The sources say his operating assumption is that Trump’s enemies in the 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign, the Obama and Biden administration, some Democrats in Congress, and their like-minded accomplices across several government agencies – including the CIA and the FBI – joined in one continuous conspiracy over almost a decade to deny Trump his civil rights, derail his political campaigns, and undermine his presidency.
Holistic Review
Where other investigators have looked at specific pieces of the effort Trump’s defenders now call "Russiagate” after its original origins, diGenova is launching the first holistic look at the entire scandal. A well-placed source said it is looking at events from June 2015 when Trump first came down the golden escalator at Trump Tower to announce his candidacy through the 2022 FBI raid at Mar-a-Lago after he left office.
Insider sources provided RCI with an exclusive look into the specially assigned prosecutor’s office and its recent legal maneuvers.
They said two separate grand juries in South Florida are now collecting and hearing evidence in what could become a series of conspiracy cases brought against people who served in the highest reaches of government, including former CIA Director John Brennan, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, and former FBI Director James Comey.
Since much of the government’s alleged corrupt anti-Trump activity took place in 2016, prosecuting the cases as conspiracies is the only way to get around the five-year federal statute of limitations.
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche tapped diGenova, a longtime denizen of Washington, D.C., who was a U.S. attorney during the Reagan administration, to helm the sprawling investigation into what Blanche views as a series of baseless and seditious prosecutions and impeachments of Trump. The acting attorney general has created a special position for diGenova with the title “counselor to the attorney general.”
DiGenova has moved into an office in Fort Pierce, Fla., where one federal grand jury is actively hearing evidence in the case. Another grand jury has been convened in Miami, where Jason Reding Quinones, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, is based. He is said to be working closely with diGenova.
DiGenova and his team are confident that the jury pool and judges in South Florida will give them a fair hearing, as opposed to Washington, D.C., where they are no longer utilizing a third grand jury.
“It’s dead in D.C. Everything is in South Florida now,” a red jurisdiction more sympathetic to Trump, said a senior U.S. official briefed on the matter.
As a former federal prosecutor and independent counsel, diGenova is known for using grand juries, which are comprised of 16 to 23 citizens who hear a prosecutor’s case, to aggressively collect evidence by issuing subpoenas for documents and witnesses.
The sources say a fresh round of grand jury subpoenas is expected to go out in early July.

Israeli officials shared intelligence with the United States regarding an alleged Iranian assassination plot against President Donald Trump, sources told the Wall Street Journal on Thursday, which comes amid renewed tension with the Middle Eastern country.
The president declared a ceasefire with Iran was "over" on Wednesday after Iran attacked three commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz earlier this week. The U.S. has since retaliated against Iran over the attack.
Details regarding the assassination plot were not immediately clear and the Israeli embassy in Washington has declined to comment to the Wall Street Journal. But the White House referred the outlet to comments the president made on Wednesday.
“They want to take out the U.S. leader—me,” Trump said on his way to the U.S. from Turkey. “I’m on every list. I saw this morning, I’m on every single one of their lists. And so far, I guess I’ve been a little bit lucky, but that maybe doesn’t last very long.”

A top official in New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s administration planned to meet with Iran’s UN envoy before the meeting was canceled following State Department intervention, City Journal reported.
Ana María Archila, commissioner for international affairs, was scheduled to meet Amir-Saeid Iravani, Iran’s permanent representative to the United Nations, on July 7 at 2 United Nations Plaza, alongside two other senior officials in the mayor’s international affairs office, according to the report.
City Journal reported citing a State Department official that the department had not been informed of the planned meeting and later met with the Mamdani administration to clarify acceptable conduct.

As news of the payout spread online, many fans questioned why the men's World Cup earnings should be shared before the women even begin their tournament.

The Wall Street Journal in a Thursday evening report says that Israel has provided fresh intelligence to the White House indicating just such a Tehran-linked plot. The timing is quite curious and interesting given it comes just as the warring sides standing on the brink of returning once again to full-scale war:
Israel shared new intelligence with the U.S. that it said indicated a fresh Iranian plan to kill President Trump, people familiar with the matter said, a finding that would mark an escalation in the war between Washington and Iran.
Iran for years has vowed openly to retaliate against Trump for the assassination of Qassem Soleimani, who was a top general in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, in the president’s first term.
The Israeli embassy in Washington declined to comment. Iran’s Mission to the United Nations didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. The White House referred The Wall Street Journal to comments the president made on Wednesday.
The Israelis have remained deeply dissatisfied with terms laid out in the previously agreed-to MoU, and so have every incentive to goad Washington further into the conflict. Certainly many within the US administration know this, and so might be taking this new 'intelligence warning' - which was leaked rather quickly to major media - with the appropriate degree of skepticism.
Meanwhile the US says it is still engaged in 'technical talks' with Iran, despite the past days of tit-for-tat bombings. "Technical talks between the US and Iran are continuing, according to a US official, following two days of clashes that threatened to shatter an already fragile ceasefire between the two nations," reports Bloomberg, also late in the day Thursday. "The US is still committed to finding a solution with Iran, the official said Thursday, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss the matter."
So it appears there's still hope that things might not spiral further. As for the alleged assassination plot, this isn't the first time Iran has faced such accusations, and each time Tehran officials have vehemently denied them.

The new units, based in Quantico, Virginia, and Twentynine Palms, California, will experiment with new technologies and develop training for deploying Marines.
The Marine Corps is standing up two new organizations focused on drone warfare at its major training bases on the East and West coasts. Based at Marine training hubs at Twentynine Palms, California, and Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, the two units will develop and test drone tactics, technology, and training for Marines headed to real-world deployments.
Both new units are part of the Marine Corps’ full court press to adapt to new battlefield realities as small, inexpensive drones become prolific in war zones.
The two units will have different missions. The Virginia group will be an experimental counter-drone team within the Weapons Training Battalion, testing new technologies and tactics. The California-based unit will develop doctrine and training courses for instructors to train and certify fleet units with upcoming real-world deployments.
Dubbed the Marine Corps Robotics Integration Group, the West Coast unit will be based at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center at Twentynine Palms. The group will develop training and certification requirements for deploying units on using and defending against unmanned systems, said Maj. Hector Infante, a spokesman for Training and Education Command.
“The Marine Corps Robotics Integration Group provides the institutional framework necessary to rapidly integrate validated capabilities into standardized training,” Maj. Gen. Mark H. Clingan, the commanding general at Twentynine Palms, said in a statement. “The battlefield continues to demonstrate that small unmanned aircraft systems are no longer niche capabilities; they are indispensable tools for reconnaissance, precision strike, force protection and survivability.”
In Virginia, the new counter drone team will experiment with the constant stream of new technologies and techniques around unmanned vehicles in use around the world, according to a Wednesday news release on the team,
The team was conceived as a counterpart to the Marine Corps’ attack drone team, which was established last year at Quantico, the news release says.
Both the attack team and counter drone team, the release said, will feed their results to the robotics group at Twentynine Palms to inform their training plans.
The two new units are part of an overall effort in the Marines to bring drones to line units. Other programs have included equipping Marines headed to the Middle East with an advanced system to help them shoot down drones and training Marines how to dig trenches that can protect them from small quadcopters.

The top official in the Zohran Mamdani administration’s Office for International Affairs made plans to meet with Iran’s ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations.
Commissioner Ana María Archila was scheduled to meet with Amir-Saeid Iravani, Iran’s permanent representative to the United Nations, at 2 United Nations Plaza, alongside two other senior officials in the Mayor’s Office for International Affairs on July 7 at 11 a.m.—this according to screenshots of a calendar invitation reviewed by City Journal and confirmed by a source connected to the international affairs community and another familiar with Archila’s office. Another official within the State Department also confirmed awareness of the Mamdani administration’s impending engagement.
The meeting between Archila and Iravani was called off after the State Department—which was not informed ahead of time—met with the Mamdani administration to clarify acceptable conduct, according to the State Department official. City Journal learned that Commissioner Archila allegedly did not inform Mayor Mamdani of the meeting; she was reprimanded for the move and directed to cancel the meeting according to the source familiar with the office.
“This meeting did not and will not take place,” a spokesperson with the Mayor’s Office for International Affairs said in a statement. The Iranian mission did not return multiple requests for comment.
The development is a continuation of Commissioner Archila and the Mamdani administration’s ongoing use of public resources to advance an agenda that extends well beyond New York City. On April 16, a message seen by City Journal was sent to staff within the Mayor’s Office for International Affairs asking them to prioritize diplomatic engagement in part based on whether foreign officials “are . . . in political alignment/leftist.” The message confirms previous reporting by El País, noting that Archila has “focused . . . on deepening relations with foreign leaders who share Mamdani’s worldview.”
New York City officials did not originally envision the Mayor’s Office for International Affairs as a means of shaping foreign policy. Its purpose is to exchange best practices with other global cities, bring foreign businesses to the city, and support city government’s relationship with the entire diplomatic community residing in New York City, without regard to political ideology or party.
That makes Archila, who has no prior diplomatic experience, an unusual choice. Mamdani appointed her as commissioner after she had had an exhaustive career in activism and served as co-director of the progressive Working Families Party, whose official position is that the war in Iran “can and must be stopped.”
The Mamdani administration has been notably vocal on foreign policy. The mayor himself has spoken out about U.S. and Israeli strikes against Iran, describing them as a “catastrophic escalation in an illegal act of war of aggression.” He has also been frequently and explicitly critical of the state of Israel, an opposition he says is based on dislike for any state that “privileges one religion over another”—a description that also covers the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The administration’s international ambitions have not been limited to public comments. Last month, Mamdani intended to meet with leftist Colombian President Gustavo Petro. The meeting was called off after the State Department declined to issue a visa following Petro’s attendance at a rally hosted by Mamdani in September. Archila’s international meetings include a two-day trip to Barcelona in April to participate in a conference hosted by the Party of European Socialists.
That Archila’s meeting was even contemplated raises questions about her judgment and the administration’s priorities. The office’s loosely defined mission is to promote a more “equitable and inclusive society” and strengthen New York City’s position as a global leader. It’s more than a stretch to suggest that a meeting with representatives of a country with whom the United States is engaged in hostilities, and with whom it has no diplomatic relations, would help achieve those ends.

It confirms that even shorter-term surveillance of location data can constitute a search, because it can still reveal “a wealth of detail about a person’s familial, political, professional, religious, and sexual associations.”

Thats called "flat hatting". You are supposed to be 500 feet and above over populated areas unless you have express permission to do so. (VFR route, formal Fly over etc). When I saw this I said to myself "man I hope that was a cleared fly by".. Essentially thats joy riding in a 30M helo..

An Arncliffe man who ran an organised crime syndicate that profited from human trafficking between Australia and Indonesia has today been sentenced to six years and five months’ imprisonment, with a non-parole period of four years and five months.
The man, now 45, is the first Australian to be convicted for trafficking in children after he facilitated the transportation of a 17-year-old from Indonesia to Sydney to engage in sex work in 2024.
A 32-year-oldSydney man has also been sentenced to two years and eight months’ imprisonment for his role in transporting the syndicate’s victim throughout Sydney to engage in forced labour.
The two-year investigation into the human trafficking syndicate – known as Operation Mirani – began in December 2022, after the AFP received intelligence that foreign nationals were arriving in Australia and being forced into sexual servitude in breach of their visa conditions.

President Trump on Thursday fired the three remaining members of the Election Assistance Commission ahead of the 2026 midterms.
Two Democrat commissioners Thomas Hicks and Benjamin Hovland were fired over email.
The lone Republican commissioner, Christy McCormick, resigned.
The firings left the independent commission with no commissioners.
The firings come after the Supreme Court ruled that a US president has the authority to fire heads of independent agencies in the executive branch.
Reuters reported:
U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday terminated the members of the Election Assistance Commission, the independent, federal commission that assists election administration officials nationwide, according to one person familiar with the decision and two other people briefed on the terminations.
The remaining three commissioners of the four-member bipartisan commission were forced out of the commission on Thursday in different ways. The one Republican appointee resigned and the other two Democratic appointees were notified of their termination via an email by the White House Presidential Personnel Office.
“On behalf of President Donald J. Trump, I am writing to inform you that your position as Commissioner of the Election Assistance Commission is terminated, effective immediately. Thank you for your service,” the email, seen by Reuters, said.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The Election Assistance Commission serves as a “national clearinghouse of information on election administration,” accredits testing laboratories and certifies voting systems, and maintains the national mail voter registration form developed by the National Voter Registration Act of 1993, according to the commission’s website.

Administration officials said the 7,100% increase prompted a closer review by the White House Anti-Fraud Task Force and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
CMS, led by Administrator Mehmet Oz, said it identified about 4,200 suspicious transplant claims totaling $224 million through May. Since March, the agency has denied 96% of claims submitted in that category.
Speaking in Milwaukee, Oz said the sharp rise in billing posed a significant financial threat.
“That’s a lot of money,” he said. “And that bankrupts not just hospital systems and physician groups, but it causes major problems across the entire system.”

Federal immigration agents are now working alongside state troopers at commercial truck weigh stations across the country as the Trump administration intensifies its crackdown on illegal commercial drivers, according to U.S. Border Czar Tom Homan.
Appearing on Fox News on Tuesday, Homan said the Department of Homeland Security is partnering with the U.S. Department of Transportation and state law enforcement agencies to identify commercial drivers who are operating trucks with improperly issued commercial driver’s licenses.
“We’ve got a lot of people we’re looking for,” Homan said. “Actually, some states we’re actually working weigh stations with the troopers, trying to get these people as they’re coming through.”
Homan said more than 28,000 non-domiciled commercial driver’s licenses have been revoked nationwide and acknowledged that obtaining driver records from some states has complicated enforcement efforts.
"We’re working very closely with many states,” Homan said, adding that DHS is coordinating with Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy while the Department of Justice pursues legal action against jurisdictions that refuse to share driver information.

Mexico’s top diplomat, Roberto Velasco Alvarez, announced a series of legal actions against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and private migrant detention centers in response to the deaths of migrants in custody, as well as during raids.
The announcement comes just one day after, as Breitbart Texas reported, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum threatened legal action following this week’s shooting of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston. In that case, federal agents shot at Salgado after he allegedly used his vehicle to ram a police vehicle and then tried to run over an ICE agent during an operation to apprehend him. Sheinbaum claimed that the only thing that Salgado did wrong was not having legal status.
“The President has instructed us to take blunt actions in response to these tragedies,” Velasco said during a news conference. “The reality is that Lorenzo Salgado They took his life agents from ICE.”
