Top 10 names (combined boys + girls) accounted for 9.1% of all births.
Olivia and Muhammad together made up about 1.4% of births.
Muhammad — 5,957 babies (top for the third year in a row; it also led every single month)
Muhammad first topped the boys' list in 2023 (overtaking Noah), held in 2024 (~5,721), and again in 2025 (~5,957). This reflects demographic shifts, including higher fertility rates in some communities and immigration patterns.

Just as the US nighttime strikes were significantly bigger than prior rounds in June, so has Iran's 'retaliation' been bigger - chiefly on Gulf states and American bases there.
In the overnight and Thursday daytime hours, Iranian ballistic missiles and drones have targeted Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and even faraway Jordan. The country is reporting that it has intercepted several missiles, which targeted Muwaffaq Salti Air Base - jointly operated by US and Jordanian forces. Oil prices have persisted above prewar levels on Thursday.
"Jordan has intercepted eight Iranian missiles in its airspace after sirens sounded across the country, according to the armed forces," reports Al Jazeera. "Falling shrapnel did not cause any casualties or material damage, it added."
Following the US bombing of the Islamic Republic for a second consecutive night, which came after Iranian forces sought to enforce its own shipping route and protocol on the Strait of Hormuz (which saw several international vessels attacked), Tehran has newly confirmed it in turn struck "US bases and strategic centers” in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar.
In particular the IRGC has claimed that two US bases in Kuwait and two base in Bahrain were attacked - and the Iranian elite force is threatening more to come. US Central Command (CENTCOM) says the rate of its strikes have grown to about 14 times the number of targets hit in the last late June flare-up in fighting.

The direct answer to the question of where Iran gets its military weapons is multifaceted: primarily, Iran relies heavily on its domestic arms industry, which has grown significantly due to decades of arms embargoes. he Justice Department's top election enforcement official has sent a pointed warning to all 50 states that election administrators can be criminally prosecuted if they knowingly allow noncitizens to vote in the upcoming 2026 election.
Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon sent the letters Tuesday after the U.S. government conducted reviews that found tens of thousands of noncitizens have made it onto state voter rolls, and DOJ prosecuted a handful of foreigners who voted in federal elections illegally, including an Australian citizen earlier this week.
“Every person who votes illegally that cancels your or my vote is one too many for me, and I think it should be for every citizen, because it’s a sacred right,” Dhillon told the Just the News, No Noise television show Wednesday night.
Dhillon's letters give states five days to explain how they will comply with federal voter eligibility laws and identify what steps they will take to maintain “clean voter lists" that remove noncitizens before Election Day.
“Any election officer, including the chief election officer of the state, who knowingly retains noncitizens on the state’s SVRL or facilitates noncitizens in receiving and casting ballots could be subject to criminal liability,” reads the letter sent to Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson.
The warning comes as the Trump administration makes a renewed push to get the Senate to pass the SAVE America Act, which requires proof of citizenship and photo ID to vote.
Dhillon said her office had listed criminal punishments written into federal election laws such as the Voting Rights Act, the Help America Vote Act, and the National Voter Registration Act.

A former police detective involved in the investigations of roughly 250 sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) cases claimed that roughly 50% occurred within 48 hours of a vaccination.
In a video interview today with The Defender, the detective, who gave only her first name, “Jennifer,” said she and her husband were detectives in the police department of a major U.S. city with a population of over 300,000 for a combined seven years, from roughly 2003 to 2010.
Jennifer said she is keeping her last name and city name undisclosed to protect her family. She said:
“The pharmaceutical industry does not want to be threatened by those sorts of secrets coming out. So, I’m a mother of many children, and their safety is my number one priority, my family’s safety. I’m a mama bear before I’m anything else.”
Jennifer said she hadn’t initially questioned the safety of vaccines. But that changed when she noticed a recurrent pattern among the police reports for SIDS cases in her unit.

Kennedy Jr., released a Dietary Guideline for Americans for 2025 through 2030 which looked to encourage prioritizing “high-quality protein, healthy fats, fruits, vegetables and whole grains – and avoiding highly processed foods and refined carbohydrates,” according to a 2025 HHS press release.
Ultra-processed foods have “one or more ingredients that wouldn’t be found in a kitchen,” such as chemical-based preservatives, artificial flavors, or sweeteners like high fructose corn syrup, according to John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Ultra-processed foods also use processing techniques that often “leave the final products bearing almost no resemblance to the original ingredients.”
“Ultra-processed foods are driving our chronic disease epidemic,” Kennedy said in his department’s press release. “We must act boldly to eliminate the root causes of chronic illness and improve the health of our food supply. Defining ultra-processed foods with a clear, uniform standard will empower us even more to Make America Healthy Again.”
Food labeled “natural” has no regulated meaning and could include artificial ingredients, GMOs, and pesticides, according to Moms Across America, a nonprofit educating Americans on health.

Soft Drinks
Soft drinks have extremely high levels of sugar and no fiber or protein to slow that absorption. One 12-ounce can of Sprite has 38 grams of added sugar. Sugar-sweetened beverages can cause blood sugar spikes which lead to increased risk of diabetes, heart disease, and some cancers, Dr. Walter Willett, a professor of epidemiology and nutrition at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, told USA Today.
Ultra Processed Meats
The saturated fat found in some processed meats can lead to a “buildup of plaque in arteries around the body,” which can lead to heart issues, according to the Physicians Committee For Responsible Medicine. Some lunch meats, jerky and hotdogs have cancer-causing compounds in them. These compounds can damage the DNA in the cells which line the colon, “which can lead to the development of cancer cells and over time the growth of large tumors.”

Trump flew out of Ankara on an older Air Force One model due to potential threats from Iran, the New York Times reported, citing unnamed sources.
The change in planes adds ammunition to questions about whether retrofitting the Qatar Boeing 747-8 had been rushed and not given the time needed to ensure sufficient security measures. Lawmakers have said the short timeline might not have been enough to install advanced missile defense systems and other security measures to ensure the president's safety.
President Donald Trump confirmed Wednesday that he was flying back to the United States on the old Air Force One and sending the new one from Qatar to the United Kingdom, stating he is "number one" on Iran's kill list.

The F-16 was a part of the 116th Combat Wing based in Araxos. Whilst training it suffered a mechanical issue and diverted to the nearest airport which was Zakynthos international airport where it seems to have made a gear up landing and then caught fire.

The ministry's Director General for Western Europe, Alireza Yousefi, handed the ambassador a written protest note, accusing London of "deflection" and urging it to stop hosting what Tehran described as "terrorist networks" targeting Iran.

Mark your calendars for August 12, 2026, as this date promises a thrilling celestial event, featuring both a spectacular solar eclipse and a stunning meteor shower, with no special equipment required for viewing.
On that day, the Moon will transit directly in front of the Sun, resulting in a total solar eclipse that will be observable from various regions in North America, the UK, Ireland, and parts of continental Europe.
Following the eclipse, as night falls, Earth will pass through debris from comet Swift-Tuttle, heralding one of the most impressive meteor showers of the year.
During the solar eclipse, the Moon will create the illusion of a “bite” taken out of the Sun. This occurs when the Moon moves between Earth and the Sun, briefly obscuring the solar disc.
The total solar eclipse will be best experienced within a narrow ‘path of totality’ where observers will witness the Sun completely covered, leading to a few minutes of twilight-like darkness.

The path of totality will sweep across parts of Greenland, Iceland, and Spain, making these locations prime spots for witnessing the total eclipse.
Observers in the rest of Europe, northern Africa, and parts of North America, particularly eastern Canada and the northeastern U.S., will experience a partial solar eclipse.
Major cities in the UK, including Glasgow, Belfast, Manchester, and London, will see more than 90% of the Sun obscured. Dublin and Cork in Ireland are expected to see up to 94% and 96% coverage, respectively.
For safe viewing, it is crucial to wear certified solar eclipse glasses, which filter harmful solar rays.
Though it is safe to remove these glasses for a brief moment during totality, they must be worn before and after this rare moment. Special care should also be taken when observing the Sun at sunset during the eclipse.
As the solar event concludes, skywatchers should prepare for the Perseid meteor shower, known for its high meteor count and beautiful fireball displays.
This annual phenomenon occurs from mid-July to late August when Earth travels through the debris trail left by comet Swift-Tuttle, leading to dramatic shooting stars visible across the Northern Hemisphere.
The timing of the Perseid meteor shower coinciding with the solar eclipse makes this occurrence particularly special.

Multiple crews respond to two-alarm fire at NASA Steam Plant

Multiple crews are responding after an overnight fire erupted at NASA Steam Plant in Hampton.
According to officials, crews were dispatched just before 1 a.m. for a fire in the debris pit.
When crews arrived, an officer indicated there was heavy fire inside the structure with flames showing above the roof. Additional resources were then requested.
The incident was marked as a Level 2 working incident and a second alarm was called. Due to the amount for fire and unknown stability of the structure, fire crews utilized a ladder tower to suppress the fire from the exterior.
Once an adjacent portion of the structure was deemed safe, crews were able to place suppression devices inside the building to attack the fire.
Officials say the bulk of the fire was marked knocked down at 2:24 a.m.
All workers inside the building were able to safely evacuate and no injuries have been reported by the workers or firefighters.
10 On Your Side arrived on scene just before 4 a.m. and observed multiple police vehicles blocking a portion of Wythe Creek Road. WAVY was later able to get a closer look of the damage that the fire caused.
“The roof of the steam plant was burnt through in some areas, and the cranes are very badly damaged.
Whether they were destroyed I don’t know that yet but they are very badly damaged,” said Mike Holtzclaw, Hampton’s Communications Cordinator. “It’s significant damage to the plant.”
Crews with Hampton Fire-Rescue provided additional photos the fire showing the aftermath of the fire inside the plant.
Fire crews and resources will remain on scene to continue applying water and foam to ensure that the fire is extinguished. Crews with Hampton’s Public Works Division have been requested for debris movement and removal.
Dominion Virginia Power, Hampton Police Division, and multiple fire agencies are assisting with this operation.
While the fire is being investigated, there is no estimate when the plant will reopen. Holtzclaw tells 10 On Your Side that while the plant is closed, residential garbage will be taken to the landfill.
