What do auroras look like from above? Behold! From the ground, auroras dance high above clouds, frequently causing spectacular displays. From space, they look a bit different. As the International Space Station (ISS) circles the Earth every 90 minutes, it sometimes sees auroras below that are active on the night side. A one-hour time-lapse video showing auroras from above was captured about two weeks ago from the orbiting ISS. The ISS and all objects in low Earth orbit will pass well above green auroras but just a bit above red glowing auroras. The auroras' electron and proton streams are too thin to be a danger to the ISS, just as clouds pose little danger to airplanes. From orbit, as magnetic fields change, auroras can appear to squiggle and crawl like giant snakes. The featured one-minute video was captured by French astronaut Sophie Adenot of the ISS Expedition 74 crew.

==Slovakia was not the only NATO state that refused to participate in the bloc’s latest military aid package for Ukraine••, the country’s president, Peter Pellegrini, has said.

During the summit in Ankara, Türkiye last week, NATO members pledged to provide Kiev with €70 billion ($80 billion) in military equipment, training, and other assistance this year andto sustain at least the same level of financial support in 2027.

In an interview with broadcaster TA3 on Sunday,Pellegrini rejected claims that Bratislava was alone in declining to contribute to the packageduring the gathering in the Turkish capital.

“That is simply not the case. The Hungarian Prime Minister [Peter Magyar] spoke clearly on this matter, stating that Hungary would not provide any military or financial aid to Ukraine. The Czech Prime Minister [Andrej Babis] expressed the exact same position right at the negotiating table and there were other prime ministers, who also will not participate in those 70 billion,” he said.

“Slovakia was not alone in this attitude. Our position is that we will not help with weapons or financially participate in the further arming of Ukraine,” the president stressed.

Overall, Pellegrini described the NATO summit as “constructive,” but expressed regret that it focused on boosting military aid to Kiev and strengthening its air defenses and the ability to hit targets deep inside Russia,while “very little, if any, time has been devoted to when and how to start diplomatic negotiations.”

“There is no purely military solution to this conflict.If this continues, it will be a war of attrition for several years, in which thousands of innocent people and tens of thousands of soldiers will be dying every month,” Pellegrini said.

After Robert Fico returned as Slovak prime minister in October 2023,Bratislava halted military supplies to Kiev. It also consistently criticized EU sanctions against Russia and called for a diplomatic solution to the Ukraine conflict.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova last week described the NATO summit as “humiliating” for Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky.

“He once again rolled out his usual wish list, begging for missile and air defense systems… while touting Ukrainian military’s terrorist capabilities.NATO members offered no meaningful response to these appeals,” Zakharova argued.

Moscow has repeatedly warned against Western military and financial support for Ukraine, arguing that it only serves to prolong the conflict without altering its outcome, while also increasing the risk of a direct clash between Russia and NATO.

Skywatchers are in for an exciting week as celestial events unfold, marked by the transition from a new moon to a delightful crescent and the commencement of the annual Perseid meteor shower.

Starting with a new moon on Tuesday, July 14, this week brings numerous opportunities to explore the night sky.

The new moon will occur at 5:43 a.m. EDT, positioning the moon between Earth and the sun with its illuminated side facing away from us.

'Make America Great Again' (MAGA) supporters appear to be the most enthusiastic voting bloc ahead of the 2026 midterm elections, according to a new poll.

The HarrisX survey found that Trump/MAGA Republicans were the most likely to say they were "definitely going to vote" in the 2026 congressional midterm elections on November 3: 75 percent of MAGA respondents expressed that enthusiasm while 70 percent of Republicans gave the same response and 63 percent of Democrats.

Voter enthusiasm ahead of an election is often viewed as an early indicator of turnout strength and campaign engagement, although self-reported voting intention does not necessarily translate into actual turnout.

The U.S. midterms will decide whether President Donald Trump's GOP retains control of one or both chambers in Congress, or if the Democratic Party will be able to win back lost voters after the 2024 presidential election. The midterms are not just about who governs the country, but how effectively they can do so; unified control can make it easier for a party to bring in sweeping policy changes, and a more divided government can halt that process.

MAGA Republicans Express Highest Voter Enthusiasm In Poll

The Harris Poll, which was conducted between July 9 and 10, and surveyed 1,019 registered voters, found that 85 percent of Trump/MAGA Republicans reported that they were likely to vote in the 2026 midterms (combining the categories of "definitely going to vote" and "probably going to vote.") The poll had an overall margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.

Meanwhile, 78 percent of Democrats gave the same response, as did 78 percent of traditional Republicans and 63 percent of Independents.

Democrats and Independents also had higher percentages of voters claiming they were "definitely not going to participate." Seven percent of Democrats and Independents indicated that they did not plan to cast ballots in the midterms, while only 1 percent of MAGA supporters and 4 percent of traditional Republicans said the same.

Those who reported they were generally unlikely to vote (combining the "definitely not going to participate," and "probably not going to participate" categories) were most likely to be Independents (16 percent), followed by Democrats (13 percent), traditional Republicans (9 percent) and Trump/MAGA Republicans (4 percent).

Of the 1,019 registered voters HarrisX surveyed, 196 of respondents classified themselves as Trump/MAGA Republicans and 183 said they were traditional Republicans.

Now, astronomers using archival data from NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope and supportive observations from NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope have finally located their first stellar-mass black hole in this cluster.

Discovering the first of this missing black hole population will help refine current theories on black hole formation within environments such as Omega Centauri. The team’s findings published Monday in The Astrophysical Journal Letters.

Omega Centauri is composed of 10 million gravitationally bound stars.

Though the astronomical community previously found evidence with Hubble that an intermediate-mass black hole lurks at its center, models suggest this star cluster should also contain about 10,000 smaller, stellar-mass black holes.

This notable population of black holes evaded detection in previous observational studies, which used the radial velocity method or looked for radio and X-ray emission from material falling onto black holes.

This new discovery features a different approach, known as astrometry, to measure very small movements of stars over time.

By sifting through more than 20 years of Hubble archival data and pulling in recent Webb data to further refine their astrometric measurements, the team located a star orbiting an invisible object so hefty that it has to be a black hole.

Dubbed oMEGACat BH-2, it is the first stellar-mass black hole detected in Omega Centauri, and it has some surprising qualities. oMEGACat BH-2 has a lower-than-expected mass and, with its visible star companion, the black hole-star duo has the longest orbital period of any black hole binary system known to date.

“With Hubble and Webb data, we were able to see the motion of the visible main sequence star that is part of this binary, which is about 18,000 light-years away in the dense environment of Omega Centauri,” said Matthew Whitaker of the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, lead author of the paper.

“The precision of these measurements is incredible, down to a fraction of a pixel on Hubble and Webb’s detectors. It would not have been possible to find this black hole without these two space telescopes.”

Dubbed oMEGACat BH-2, it is the first stellar-mass black hole detected in Omega Centauri, and it has some surprising qualities. oMEGACat BH-2 has a lower-than-expected mass and, with its visible star companion, the black hole-star duo has the longest orbital period of any black hole binary system known to date.

“With Hubble and Webb data, we were able to see the motion of the visible main sequence star that is part of this binary, which is about 18,000 light-years away in the dense environment of Omega Centauri,” said Matthew Whitaker of the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, lead author of the paper.

“The precision of these measurements is incredible, down to a fraction of a pixel on Hubble and Webb’s detectors. It would not have been possible to find this black hole without these two space telescopes.”

Scientists Find The First True Sugar Ever Detected in Interstellar Space

The latest discovery in the galactic center strengthens the Milky Way's resemblance to a mouth-watering treat.

Previously, scientists found an ester called ethyl formate drifting between the stars in the inner regions of the galaxy – a compound that contributes to the distinctive flavor of raspberries.

Now astronomers may have found the sugar with which to dust this cosmic comestible.

In roughly the same region of space, scientists have now identified erythrulose – the first true sugar ever found in interstellar space.

You probably wouldn't want to actually eat it. Erythrulose is edible enough, but it's mixed in with a whole bunch of space stuff that is rather less compatible with staying alive (hello, cyanide-bearing molecules).

Fortunately, what wouldn't make a very good snack may have made an excellent ingredient for life's origins.

According to a team led by cosmochemist Izaskun Jiménez-Serra of the Spanish Astrobiology Center, the discovery could help explain where the first biologically important sugars came from before life began on Earth.

"A central question in origin-of-life research is how monosaccharides formed on the primitive Earth, as laboratory experiments under prebiotic conditions yield insufficient concentrations," the team writes in a new paper published in Nature Astronomy.

"Interstellar erythrulose could have contributed to the sugar inventory available for early metabolic and replication processes."

Life as we know it depends on sugars – small, carbon-based molecules that cells use for energy and as raw materials to build larger biological molecules. Sugars also form the backbone of RNA and DNA.

Sugars are also central to prebiotic chemistry – the chemical conditions that give rise to life. However, because scientists still don't know how the first sugars formed, they are often treated simply as starting ingredients in models of prebiotic chemistry.

We've had clues that sugar can form in a space environment. Sugars have been found in meteorites and samples from asteroid Bennu. Simple sugar precursors such as glycolaldehyde and (Z)-1,2-ethenediol have also been detected in space.

ESA welcomes new UK space and defence gateway

His Majesty King Charles III visited the UK’s largest space cluster on 10 July to launch a new initiative designed to shape the future of the space and defence economy.

Neighbouring the European Space Agency’s UK site on the Harwell campus in Oxfordshire, the Space and Defence Gateway was opened by His Majesty at an event attended by ESA Director General Josef Aschbacher, UK ESA astronauts, and several other high-level representatives from ESA, the UK government and the Harwell campus.

The visit provided an opportunity for Josef Aschbacher to present His Majesty with a Union Flag that spent nearly a year aboard the International Space Station.

The Gateway comprises a co-working and events space that will facilitate collaboration between governments, space agencies, academia and industry.

It will concentrate on enabling businesses to secure investment, enabling UK start-ups to refine and scale-up their operations.

The initiative aligns with the principles of the Astra Carta, a global framework designed to encourage sustainability and responsible practices within the space industry.

During the visit, His Majesty was taken on a tour of the Harwell campus space cluster and its vibrant community of public and private enterprises, featuring national research laboratories, sovereign test facilities, start-ups, scale-ups and multinational corporations.

Shenzhou-23 crew successfully tests upgraded in-orbit measuring device

Shenzhou-23 spaceflight mission's three-person crew have successfully tested an upgraded in-orbit mass measurement device at the country's space station as they near their 50th day in orbit while continuing an expanding range of scientific experiments.

According to a video released by the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) , astronauts Zhu Yangzhu, Zhang Zhiyuan and Li Jiaying also carried out several experiments over the past week focusing on space life sciences and human research.

As part of a musculoskeletal loading study, the crew conducted plantar pressure measurements, lower-limb biomechanical tests, and muscle-tendon assessments while running and performing resistance exercises under different load conditions.

The experiments collected data on plantar pressure, joint movement, motion images and muscle parameters to help researchers understand changes in muscle-tendon interactions in space.

The astronauts also used near-infrared brain functional imaging equipment to carry out neuroergonomic experiments involving multiple tasks. Scientists on the ground will analyze the data to examine how the space environment affects astronauts' cognitive control.

The crew continued its routine daily exercise programme to reduce the physiological effects of prolonged exposure to weightlessness.

China launched the Shenzhou-23 crewed spacecraft on May 24. The mission includes a one-year in-orbit stay experiment designed to provide key data for future long-duration human space exploration.

“I recommended, to Governor Henry McMaster, Lindsey Graham’s wonderful sister, Darline, to serve as interim Senator from the Great State of South Carolina,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social. “This would be a fabulous tribute to Lindsey, who loved her dearly!”

Trump’s post comes after Graham’s office announced on Sunday that Graham had died at the age of 71 “from a brief and sudden illness.”

“On the evening of Saturday, July 11, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham passed away from a brief and sudden illness,” the statement from Graham’s office said. “Senator Graham’s family appreciates prayers at this time and asks for privacy during this incredibly difficult period.”

In the absence of a functional “supreme leader,” the military and civilian wings of Iran’s government have become embroiled in a power struggle resulting in both sides sending conflicting public messages and disrupting attempted negotiations with the United States. While Iran’s civilian leadership and America signed a “memorandum of understanding” in late June that required Iran to stop disrupting global commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, the terrorist Islamic Republic Guard Corps (IRGC) launched attacks against ships in the last week as the funeral ceremonies continued, targeting ships linked to Iran’s Arab neighbors. Those attacks resulted in a kinetic response from the U.S. government and subsequent IRGC strikes on Kuwait, Bahrain, and other neighboring states.

In the context of renewed hostilities between Washington and Tehran – President Trump announced that the ceasefire had ended this weekend, though talks allegedly continue –Iranian state media dropped the alleged Khamenei statement, threatening to kill all those involved in the conflict that took his father’s life.

“As we bid farewell to your body with tearful eyes and broken hearts, we pledge to safeguard your legacy, to steadfastly traverse the straight path you laid out, to fear no hardships along the way, and to attach our hearts to divine promises and glad tidings as you did,” the Khamenei statement reportedly read, addressing his father.

“We pledge to avenge your pure blood and the blood of all the martyrs of these two wars by taking revenge against the criminal, disgraceful murderers,” the statement continued, without mentioning President Trump or his administration by name. “This vengeance is what our nation is demanding, and this must definitely be done. These criminals, whose names are fully documented from the highest to the lowest ranks, will carry their dream of a peaceful death in bed to the grave.”

“They must know that this action doesn’t depend on my presence or that of any other official. Whether we are here or not, this will be done. Soon, free-spirited people throughout the world will each carry out a part of this divine mission,” the statement predicted.

The statement compared Ali Khamenei to Imam Hussain, the grandson of Muhammad largely considered the third imam of Shia Islam in history. It claimed that “tens of millions” mourned the mass murderer Khamenei throughout the past week, whose body was paraded nationwide. The alleged Mojtaba Khamenei described his father as an inheritor of Hussain’s legacy, writing, “Our nation seeks to take revenge for the blood of Hussain. For years, this great nation has sacrificed its children on the path of Hussain, battling the enemies of Hussain and the enemies of Hussain’s way.”

TAMPA, Fla. — At the Commander in Chief's direction, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces will resume blockading maritime traffic entering and exiting Iranian ports on July 14 at 4 p.m. ET.

CENTCOM forces will enforce the blockade against vessels transiting to or from Iranian ports and coastal areas. The U.S. military continues to support traffic flow through regional waters for all vessels not violating the blockade.

The resumption of the U.S. blockade against Iran follows the initial implementation from April 13 to June 18. CENTCOM forces redirected more than 140 compliant vessels, disabled nine non-compliant ships, and allowed over 50 commercial vessels supporting humanitarian aid to pass through the blockade during the two-month period.

The Trump administration on Monday announcedsweeping new banking rules aimed at cracking down on lending to illegal immigrants, requiring lenders to consider that borrowers without legal work authorization may pose “elevated credit risk,” a move that supporters say could improve housing affordability for Americans.

The rules require banks and credit unions to account forthe possibility that an illegal immigrant borrower could lose his job, be unable to find lawful work, or be removed from the country before repaying a mortgage, auto loan, credit-card balance, or other debt.

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and the National Credit Union Administration issued the joint guidance under President Donald Trump’s May executive order, “Restoring Integrity to America’s Financial System.”

The agencies urged banks to take in account that illegal immigrants may pose increased risks.Banks were told to identify, measure, and control those risks through their underwriting and loan-monitoring systems.

The new rules make immigration enforcement part of ordinary bank lending decisions.A loan supported by income from unauthorized employment must now be evaluated in light of the U.S. government’s efforts to expand workplace enforcement and removals.

The approach resembles the “transition risk” framework regulators previously applied to climate policy. Banks were expected to consider whether future government action or changing consumer preferences could weaken a borrower or strand an asset. Here, the transition risk is immigration enforcement and the possibility that a borrower’s income disappears before a loan is repaid.Banks were also told to examine their exposure to industries, employers, and geographic regions that could be disproportionately affected by the prevalence of illegal immigrants.

A bank with a large concentration of such borrowers could suffer what the agencies called “correlated credit deterioration,” with many loans weakening at once. Regulators said banks may identify signs of credit weakness in loans to borrowers without work authorization even when payments remain current.

The likely result is tighter credit for illegal immigrants. Banks could demand larger down payments and charge higher rates—or completely reject loan applications—when repayment depends on income from unauthorized work.

Fair-lending law does not stand in the way, according to the administration. The guidance directs banks to consult a June 8 statement from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which instructed creditors that the Equal Credit Opportunity Act expressly provides that “a creditor may take the applicant’s immigration status into account,” along with any additional information needed to determine its rights and remedies regarding repayment.The bureau also advised that lenders relying on income from U.S.-based employment should weigh whether a borrower could lose his job if deported.

The guidance completes the reversal of the Biden administration’s position. In October 2023, the CFPB and the Justice Department’s civil rights division issued a joint statement urging lenders to ignore a potential borrower’s immigration status, a move that encouraged lending to illegal aliens. Critics said the Biden policy blatantly ignored statutes authorizing banks to take into account immigration and work authorization status. In January, the two agencies withdrew it, saying it conflicted with the express language of the Equal Credit Opportunity Act.

The OCC’s participation gives the rules broad reach.Gould said the agency is directly responsible for “the lion’s share of banking system assets” and is refocusing supervision on “material financial risk.”

In a speech Monday marking his first year as comptroller, Gould said lawful customers should be judged on “objective risk,” rather than political beliefs, industry affiliations or “reputational considerations that fall outside sound risk management.”

He also made clear that banks will be expected to act on risks identified by the agency, saying the OCC would demand “greater direct and sustained attention from bank decision-makers and faster remediation timeframes,” particularly at the largest banks.

The housing market may see the largest effects from the new policy. Credit determines how much buyers can bid for homes, and reduced mortgage availability for illegal aliens would lower their purchasing power and relieve price pressure in markets with many illegals.

A recent working paper from economists at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas found that illegal immigration substantially increased local housing demand from 2021 through 2024. An inflow of unauthorized workers equal to one percent of local employment was associated with a 2.2 percent increase in home prices and a 1.4 percent increase in rents. The economists attributed roughly 30 percent of home-price growth and 20 percent of rent growth in the average local market to illegal immigrant inflows during the period. They found little evidence that housing construction increased enough to meet the added demand, undermining a key argument made by proponents of the Biden administration’s open borders policies.

Monday’s action extends the administration’s immigration crackdown into the financial system.

Vice President JD Vance remembered Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) after his office announced he died at the age of 71 “from a brief and sudden illness,” describing Graham as a “one of a kind figure in our politics.”

In a post on X,Vance shared his experiences with Graham, such as how he had gotten into a “shouting match” with him regarding a Ukraine funding bill” and how the next day he found out Graham was supporting legislation Vance “really cared about.” Vance also shared that Graham “had the best sense of humor in the Senate.”

“Lindsey Graham came from humble beginnings and became one of the most powerful lawmakers in the most powerful nation on Earth,” Vance wrote. “His story was afundamentallyAmerican one.”

U.S. Central Command utilized three Corsair unmanned surface vessels to strike a submarine and ship maintenance facility at the Bandar Abbas naval base in Iran, marking the “first time American forces have employed sea drones in combat operations,” CENTCOM confirmed on X on Monday.

The latest round of strikes by the U.S. comes after it revoked a license on July 7 that allowed Iran to sell oil. U.S. President Donald Trump declared the ceasefire between the two nations — which began on April 8 — to be over, but ceded that Iran had agreed to continue to negotiate.

The U.S. military said it hit dozens of Iranian military targets on Sunday, which included the first-ever combat use of Corsair USVs to assist in degrading Iran’s ability to continue to attack commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.

Built by Saronic, the Corsair is a 24-foot USV that has a range of over 1,000 nautical miles and a payload capacity of 1,000 pounds while surging at 35 knots.

According to the company, “it supports a variety of missions including ISR, surface surveillance, and logistics in both permissive and contested environments.

Its embedded AI stack and open architecture allow rapid integration of sensors and autonomy software, making it a flexible platform for modern naval and defense applications.”

While it is the USVs first display in combat, the U.S. Navy has been testing and utilizing Corsair vessels for various missions over the past two years.

Just last month, two soldiers were picked up by a Navy-operated Corsair USV after their Army AH-64 Apache helicopter crashed during a patrol operation near the Strait of Hormuz.

The unique mission marked the first publicized use of the craft outside of testing.

“The surface drone that assisted in last night’s rescue of the Apache crew off the coast of Oman was a U.S. Navy Corsair unmanned surface vessel operated by U.S. 5th Fleet’s Task Force 59,” Capt. Tim Hawkins, a U.S. Central Command spokesperson, said in a statement in June.

“The Task Force began fielding these drones in theater in late March.”

In January 2024 the Navy stood up Unmanned Task Group 59.1, nicknamed “The Pioneers,” to focus on the deployment of unmanned systems in maritime operations teamed that can be teamed with specialized operators to “bolster maritime security across the Middle East region,” according to a press release.

Unmanned Task Group 59.1 is under the aegis of Task Force 59 in the U.S. Fifth Fleet Area of Operations.

At the time, Lt. Luis Echeverria, the commanding officer of the Navy’s Bahrain-based Pioneers, was assigned to “stress-test” unmanned surface vessels.

According to previous Navy Times reporting, a handful of unmanned vessels were launched from Aqaba, Jordan, into the Red Sea with a broad-edged surveillance mission: to observe the “pattern of life” in the region and increase maritime domain awareness.

With the latest Corsair attacks on the Iranian port, that mission has shifted to incorporate strikes.

A hostile drone struck an offshore oil drilling platform in Kuwaiti territorial waters on Sunday, injuring one worker and causing material damage, while three northern land border centres were also attacked, Kuwait’s military said.

The incidents took place during a fresh exchange of strikes between Iran and the United States, following heightened tensions over shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

In a statement, Major General Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi, spokesperson for Kuwait’s Ministry of Defence, said three northern land border centres were hit in what he described as a “criminal aggressive attack.”

The attacks caused material damage, but no casualties were reported at the border sites.

The ministry said a hostile drone also targeted an offshore drilling platform operated by Kuwait Oil Company in Kuwaiti territorial waters. The attack damaged the platform and injured one worker, who is receiving medical treatment.

The relevant authorities immediately began responding to the incidents in coordination with other government agencies, the ministry said.

The General Staff of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces said it remains fully prepared and has taken all necessary measures to protect the country’s security and territory.

The incidents took place as Iran launched attacks on Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Jordan, which Tehran said were in response to repeated U.S. “aggression.”

Earlier, Kuwait said it had intercepted hostile aerial targets after they entered its airspace. Explosions were heard during the interception operations.

The offshore facility targeted in the attack is a Kuwait Oil Company drilling platform located in Kuwaiti territorial waters.

Offshore drilling platforms are important energy assets used for oil production, making their security a key concern in the Gulf, one of the world’s most important oil-producing regions.

Kuwaiti authorities have not identified who carried out the attacks. Investigations are underway, and the armed forces said they remain on high readiness while monitoring the security situation and protecting the country’s border and energy infrastructure.

The government said it is banning the Islamic Movement of the Companions of the Right, or IMCR, also known as Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamia.

It also banned Iran´s powerful paramilitary Revolutionary Guard as a threat to national security. Committing sabotage on behalf of the groups will be punishable by up to life imprisonment after Parliament approves the legislation, which the government expects to take place by the end of the week.

Security Minister Angela Eagle said in a statement that the IMCR has claimed seven attacks in the U.K. The group had said online that it was responsible for a string of arson attacks on Jewish sites in London in recent months, including fires at synagogues and Jewish charity ambulances, as well as a Persian-language media organization critical of Iran´s government. No one were injured in the blazes.

“Sitting behind IMCR were members of Iran´s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Qods Force, who almost certainly directed IMCR attacks across Europe,” she said. Quds, or Jerusalem, Force is the Guard´s expeditionary unit.

The group sprang up online earlier this year and has also claimed responsibility for synagogue attacks in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Law enforcement officials and intelligence experts say Iran-backed proxy groups are behind a growing number of attacks in Europe, most targeting the Jewish community and Persian-language media critical of Iran´s Islamic government.

They typically work by recruiting members of criminal groups to carry out sabotage and other attacks.

Authorities said Monday that Britain is also designating the GRU Volunteer Corps, a group controlled by Russia´s military intelligence agency, as a national security threat.The U.K. says the group conducts foreign intelligence collection and hostile covert operations on behalf of the GRU.

Authorities said the new measures will make it easier for police and intelligence agencies to tackle what they call “thugs for hire,” or anyone supporting the proxy groups.

“We have already taken tough action against the Iranian regime and those linked to it, and against Russian operatives and networks targeting our country. These new powers will make it easier to prosecute and lock up anyone carrying out their dirty work here in Britain,” Prime Minister Keir Starmer said in a statement.

The bans come under a new U.K. law that took effect last week, giving the government powers to tackle proxy organizations carrying out hostile activity on behalf of foreign states.

Earlier this month, two Romanian men were given prison sentences over the stabbing of a journalist from a Persian-language television station, an attack the judge said was carried out on behalf of the Iranian state.

There was no immediate comment from Iran.

The European Union in January listed the Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization over Tehran´s bloody crackdown on protests. (Why are they including Russia in this?)

Nobody knows Henry Cuellar better than Donald J. Trump. I studied his records, learned about his financing, and listened to his two wonderful daughters beg me to help the mother and father that they love. The office of former Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad rejected reports alleging that Israel’s Mossad had recruited him for a regime-change plan and that he had later been placed under house arrest.

In a statement, the office said The New York Times’ “Hollywood-style claims” did not merit a denial and described the newspaper as “known for publishing fake news and fabricating lies.”

It also accused the newspaper of being willing to publish fabricated articles and reports in exchange for payment.

“The man who really counts in the world is the doer, not the mere critic — the man who actually does the work.”

Theodore Roosevelt could have been describing Lindsey Graham.

I first came to know Lindsey not as Sen. Graham, but as Col. Graham, a man who regularly stepped away from his role as a senator to put on an Air Force uniform, go down range and train Afghan military lawyers.

He wanted to hear directly from the troops, see the mission with his own eyes and bring that ground truth back to Washington.

Lindsey didn’t just talk a big game about supporting our troops. He backed up every word with 33 years of service in the Air Force, eight years as a congressman and 23 years as South Carolina’s senator and elder statesman.

At every step, he fought to give our men and women in uniform the best training, the best equipment and every advantage over the enemy.

Regardless of party, Sen. Graham was fearless in asking hard questions to ensure we were serving those who served us.

I admired that instinct in him: Never make policy from a conference room when Americans are carrying it out in the field. Go there. Ask the uncomfortable questions. Listen to the sergeants and junior officers.

Then come home and do something about what they told you.

Lindsey Graham knew good from evil — and stood up for America every time

That hasn’t always been a popular way of writing policy. But Lindsey did not particularly care if it ruffled feathers or whose ointment he’d be the fly in.

He was there to do the work.

It was the same way when we served on the Hill together.

After the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, Lindsey and I introduced resolutions in the Senate and House calling on the State Department to designate the Taliban for what they were: a foreign terrorist organization.

We pushed to freeze the regime’s assets and to deny it access to international funding.

We also demanded answers when reports emerged that the chairman of the Joint Chiefs had allegedly promised to warn his Chinese counterpart in advance of an American attack.

It’s a testament to how effective Lindsey was that it wasn’t long before Gen. Mark Milley himself felt compelled to sit down with us in an attempt to explain himself.

These were hills Lindsey was willing to die on.

He was clear-eyed about America’s enemies, fiercely protective of the constitutional chain of command and unwilling to let Washington legislate away our future.

Lindsey brought a Gamecock’s fighting spirit to every cause he believed in.

He was yet another convert to President Donald Trump and became one of his fiercest and most loyal allies.

Here’s how to honor Sen. Lindsey Graham’s unmatched patriotic legacy

He lived for a judiciary that serves the Constitution, the Founders’ intent and the American people.

He fought tooth and nail for President Trump’s Supreme Court and was fuming mad at the mistreatment of Brett Kavanaugh.

In a sentence: He was eminently comfortable being in the minority. And, there were few arguments Lindsey lost.

He believed four things must always be true: America must lead, our allies must know we will stand with them, our enemies must fear the consequences of testing us, and our troops must never be sent into harm’s way without the tools they need to win.

Our foreign-policy successes are rooted in those beliefs, and they’ve already paid dividends.

The MSM would not be reporting on fraud in the 2020 election, unless they absolutely had to.

MS NOW would not make that up. The only reason they are reporting on it, is so they can get in front of it to convince their sheep that Trump is going to be lying.

They are panicking. They are desperate to preemptively establish the narrative that the intelligence Trump and his team are going to reveal, is not real, hence why they are using the phrase “Trump will CLAIM”, as if to say his claims are not based on actual intelligence or the result of all the investigations.

The MSM would not make up a story about foreign influence in the 2020 election, and if they did, the Trump White House would call it out as fake news. The MSM would not draw attention to this whatsoever, unless they had no choice, because they know it’s coming.

This address to the nation perfectly lines up with the FBI deadline for the ongoing raid in Fulton County, which is Friday.
