US President Donald Trump said Monday the United States would reinstate a blockade targeting Iranian ships and customers while keeping the Strait of Hormuz open to vessels from all other countries.

“We are reinstating the THE IRANIAN BLOCKADE, so named because it is only stopping Iran’s ships or customers from entering or leaving,” he said in a post on Truth Social.

“The Hormuz Strait is OPEN, and will remain OPEN, with or without Iran,” Trump wrote, saying the measure would prevent only Iranian ships or their customers from entering or leaving the waterway.

Scientists Find The First True Sugar Ever Detected in Interstellar Space

The latest discovery in the galactic center strengthens the Milky Way's resemblance to a mouth-watering treat.

Previously, scientists found an ester called ethyl formate drifting between the stars in the inner regions of the galaxy – a compound that contributes to the distinctive flavor of raspberries.

Now astronomers may have found the sugar with which to dust this cosmic comestible.

In roughly the same region of space, scientists have now identified erythrulose – the first true sugar ever found in interstellar space.

You probably wouldn't want to actually eat it. Erythrulose is edible enough, but it's mixed in with a whole bunch of space stuff that is rather less compatible with staying alive (hello, cyanide-bearing molecules).

Fortunately, what wouldn't make a very good snack may have made an excellent ingredient for life's origins.

According to a team led by cosmochemist Izaskun Jiménez-Serra of the Spanish Astrobiology Center, the discovery could help explain where the first biologically important sugars came from before life began on Earth.

"A central question in origin-of-life research is how monosaccharides formed on the primitive Earth, as laboratory experiments under prebiotic conditions yield insufficient concentrations," the team writes in a new paper published in Nature Astronomy.

"Interstellar erythrulose could have contributed to the sugar inventory available for early metabolic and replication processes."

Life as we know it depends on sugars – small, carbon-based molecules that cells use for energy and as raw materials to build larger biological molecules. Sugars also form the backbone of RNA and DNA.

Sugars are also central to prebiotic chemistry – the chemical conditions that give rise to life. However, because scientists still don't know how the first sugars formed, they are often treated simply as starting ingredients in models of prebiotic chemistry.

We've had clues that sugar can form in a space environment. Sugars have been found in meteorites and samples from asteroid Bennu. Simple sugar precursors such as glycolaldehyde and (Z)-1,2-ethenediol have also been detected in space.

ESA welcomes new UK space and defence gateway

His Majesty King Charles III visited the UK’s largest space cluster on 10 July to launch a new initiative designed to shape the future of the space and defence economy.

Neighbouring the European Space Agency’s UK site on the Harwell campus in Oxfordshire, the Space and Defence Gateway was opened by His Majesty at an event attended by ESA Director General Josef Aschbacher, UK ESA astronauts, and several other high-level representatives from ESA, the UK government and the Harwell campus.

The visit provided an opportunity for Josef Aschbacher to present His Majesty with a Union Flag that spent nearly a year aboard the International Space Station.

The Gateway comprises a co-working and events space that will facilitate collaboration between governments, space agencies, academia and industry.

It will concentrate on enabling businesses to secure investment, enabling UK start-ups to refine and scale-up their operations.

The initiative aligns with the principles of the Astra Carta, a global framework designed to encourage sustainability and responsible practices within the space industry.

During the visit, His Majesty was taken on a tour of the Harwell campus space cluster and its vibrant community of public and private enterprises, featuring national research laboratories, sovereign test facilities, start-ups, scale-ups and multinational corporations.

The continued growth of the cluster is supported by several anchor organisations, including RAL Space, the UK Space Agency, the Satellite Applications Catapult – and ESA.

Shenzhou-23 spaceflight mission's three-person crew have successfully tested an upgraded in-orbit mass measurement device at the country's space station as they near their 50th day in orbit while continuing an expanding range of scientific experiments.

According to a video released by the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) , astronauts Zhu Yangzhu, Zhang Zhiyuan and Li Jiaying also carried out several experiments over the past week focusing on space life sciences and human research.

As part of a musculoskeletal loading study, the crew conducted plantar pressure measurements, lower-limb biomechanical tests, and muscle-tendon assessments while running and performing resistance exercises under different load conditions.

The experiments collected data on plantar pressure, joint movement, motion images and muscle parameters to help researchers understand changes in muscle-tendon interactions in space.

The astronauts also used near-infrared brain functional imaging equipment to carry out neuroergonomic experiments involving multiple tasks. Scientists on the ground will analyze the data to examine how the space environment affects astronauts' cognitive control.

The crew continued its routine daily exercise programme to reduce the physiological effects of prolonged exposure to weightlessness.

China launched the Shenzhou-23 crewed spacecraft on May 24. The mission includes a one-year in-orbit stay experiment designed to provide key data for future long-duration human space exploration.

Kiev has stepped up drone strikes on Russian energy infrastructure and civilian targets amid continued setbacks on the battlefield

Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that any Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory will be met with significantly stronger retaliation.

Putin made the remarks on Monday while addressing the ‘All for Victory!’ forum organized by the All-Russian People’s Front, where he discussed the Ukraine conflict and Moscow’s response to Western backing for Kiev.

“Our response will always mirror any strike on Russian territory. We will respond in kind – only several times more powerfully,” Putin said. “The enemy will feel it. They already do, I hope. And they will feel it even more in the future.”

Russia’s strength lies in its ability to overcome “every difficulty and every challenge,” while the “Russophobic” part of the collective West continues to wage a campaign against the country, Putin said.

Despite the pressure, Russia is “developing its economy, strengthening its financial system, modernizing its Armed Forces and expanding its defense industry,” he said, adding that these efforts are already changing “the situation on the battlefield.”

“Our fighters are advancing,” Putin said. “That is why there is no doubt we will achieve victory.”

Ukraine has intensified drone attacks on Russian energy infrastructure and residential areas in recent months amid continued setbacks on the battlefield, launching several hundred UAVs a day on average.

FPV drones, including AI-assisted models, have increasingly targeted passenger buses and private vehicles.

In late June, Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky announced a 40-day pressure campaign, combining long-range strikes and clandestine operations aimed at inflicting economic damage on Russia.

Moscow has condemned the attacks as indiscriminate acts of terrorism intended to distract from Ukraine’s battlefield setbacks, responding with an expanded campaign of long-range strikes.

Most Russian strikes in recent weeks have focused on the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, targeting military-industrial facilities, drone assembly and storage sites, and weapons depots.

President Donald Trump suggested Sen. Lindsey Graham’s (R-SC) sister serve as an “interim Senator” for South Carolina, adding it would be a “fabulous tribute to Lindsey.”

“I recommended, to Governor Henry McMaster, Lindsey Graham’s wonderful sister, Darline, to serve as interim Senator from the Great State of South Carolina,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social. “This would be a fabulous tribute to Lindsey, who loved her dearly!”

Trump’s post comes after Graham’s office announced on Sunday that Graham had died at the age of 71 “from a brief and sudden illness.”

“On the evening of Saturday, July 11, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham passed away from a brief and sudden illness,” the statement from Graham’s office said. “Senator Graham’s family appreciates prayers at this time and asks for privacy during this incredibly difficult period.”

A spokesperson for Graham shared that the “preliminary findings by the Medical Examiner of the District of Columbia” had found that the “cause of death was aortic dissection due to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease,” CBS News reported.

Several Trump administration officials such as Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Markwayne Mullin issued statements remembering Graham.

Iran’s Missing ‘Supreme Leader’ Vows Revenge Against Trump in Written Statement

Mojtaba Khamenei, the official “supreme leader” of Iran and son of late dictator Ali Khamenei,allegedly published a written statement this weekend read aloud on state television vowing “revenge” against the United States.

Khamenei became “supreme leader” in February after President Donald Trump launched “Operation Epic Fury,” which on its first day resulted in the elimination of Ali Khamenei.He has neither been seen in public nor released audio messages since the government declared him the new dictator, prompting extensive speculation that he has been disfigured, severely injured, or otherwise incapacitated. Mojtaba Khamenei’s absence was especially noted last week as formal burial rites for his father took place, attended by three of his brothers but not the alleged head of the country.

In the absence of a functional “supreme leader,” the military and civilian wings of Iran’s government have become embroiled in a power struggle resulting in both sides sending conflicting public messages and disrupting attempted negotiations with the United States. While Iran’s civilian leadership and America signed a “memorandum of understanding” in late June that required Iran to stop disrupting global commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, the terrorist Islamic Republic Guard Corps (IRGC) launched attacks against ships in the last week as the funeral ceremonies continued, targeting ships linked to Iran’s Arab neighbors. Those attacks resulted in a kinetic response from the U.S. government and subsequent IRGC strikes on Kuwait, Bahrain, and other neighboring states.

In the context of renewed hostilities between Washington and Tehran – President Trump announced that the ceasefire had ended this weekend, though talks allegedly continue –Iranian state media dropped the alleged Khamenei statement, threatening to kill all those involved in the conflict that took his father’s life.

“As we bid farewell to your body with tearful eyes and broken hearts, we pledge to safeguard your legacy, to steadfastly traverse the straight path you laid out, to fear no hardships along the way, and to attach our hearts to divine promises and glad tidings as you did,” the Khamenei statement reportedly read, addressing his father.

“We pledge to avenge your pure blood and the blood of all the martyrs of these two wars by taking revenge against the criminal, disgraceful murderers,” the statement continued, without mentioning President Trump or his administration by name. “This vengeance is what our nation is demanding, and this must definitely be done. These criminals, whose names are fully documented from the highest to the lowest ranks, will carry their dream of a peaceful death in bed to the grave.”

“They must know that this action doesn’t depend on my presence or that of any other official. Whether we are here or not, this will be done. Soon, free-spirited people throughout the world will each carry out a part of this divine mission,” the statement predicted.

The statement compared Ali Khamenei to Imam Hussain, the grandson of Muhammad largely considered the third imam of Shia Islam in history. It claimed that “tens of millions” mourned the mass murderer Khamenei throughout the past week, whose body was paraded nationwide. The alleged Mojtaba Khamenei described his father as an inheritor of Hussain’s legacy, writing, “Our nation seeks to take revenge for the blood of Hussain. For years, this great nation has sacrificed its children on the path of Hussain, battling the enemies of Hussain and the enemies of Hussain’s way.”

Ukrainian Drone Strikes Force Russia to Suspend Shipping in Sea of Azov

Shipping in the Sea of Azov has come to a halt as Ukraine intensifies its drone attacks targeting Russian maritime operations, with reports indicating that 90 vessels have been targeted in under a week.

In a significant escalation, Robert Brovdi, the chief of Ukraine’s drone forces, announced on Sunday that Ukrainian units successfully struck 10 tankers and four ferries overnight, along with a major oil refinery in Syzran, a city in Russia.

Brovdi emphasized that Ukraine’s efforts are contributing to the diminishing of Moscow’s so-called shadow fleet, which has been vital for transporting sanctioned oil products globally.

He claimed that this fleet is “noticeably shrinking” and can no longer effectively utilize the Kerch Strait, a critical link between the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea.

The Sea of Azov, which serves as an essential route for shipping oil, grain, and steel to international markets, has faced major disruptions.

On Friday, Russia suspended shipping through the Don-Azov canal, a route connecting the system of Russian rivers to the Caspian Sea.

This closure has effectively crippled a significant export route that once facilitated the transfer of goods via the Kerch and Bosphorus straits.

Former Ukrainian Defense Minister Andriy Zagorodnyuk asserted that the Kremlin has lost control over this vital maritime corridor.

He noted that the blockade impacts both military vessels and those transporting grain reportedly taken from occupied areas of southern Ukraine, particularly through ports such as Berdyansk and Mariupol.

Zagorodnyuk further elaborated that the Caspian Sea lacks direct connections to the world’s oceans, rendering it ineffective for international trade as agricultural products and fertilizers can only pass through limited channels and rivers.

As Ukrainian forces steadily dismantle Russian radar and anti-aircraft defenses, they have been able to conduct long-range strikes on key Russian military infrastructure, including recent attacks on oil refineries up to 2,700 kilometers from Ukrainian territory.

Eyewitness accounts from Syzran on Sunday described the sound of drones followed by explosions, with videos capturing a large fire at the oil refinery— a facility critical for supplying fuel to the Russian military and for export via the Azov-Kerch canal.

Kyiv has ramped up mid-range attacks on land and sea supply routes leading into occupied Crimea, targeting vehicles, vessels, and access points. Russian officials reported a tanker caught fire as it tried to enter the Azov-Black Sea canal.

Additionally, local media reported two significant oil spills off the coast of Taganrog.

Yevgeniya Gaber, a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council, posited that these attacks form part of a broader strategy aimed at isolating Crimea and degrading Russia’s logistical capabilities, essential for sustaining military operations.

She noted that every oil refinery is now vulnerable to strikes, highlighting a comprehensive strategy to neutralize Russian capabilities progressively.

In a stark consequence of the ongoing conflict, Ukrainian authorities report that repeated drone strikes have forced officials in Crimea to declare a state of emergency.

The region is experiencing widespread electricity outages, severe fuel shortages, and a collapse of its tourist sector, leading many residents to travel to Russia in search of essential fuel supplies, creating long lines at petrol stations.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy articulated that these strikes are an integral part of Ukraine’s “long-range sanctions” strategy, launched in response to Russia’s persistent aggression.

In contrast, President Vladimir Putin maintains that his military objectives remain unchanged, focusing on seizing territory in eastern Ukraine, such as the Donbas region.

On the flip side, the conflict continues to escalate, with recent assaults by Russia reported in Ukraine’s central Dnipropetrovsk region resulting in multiple casualties, including fatalities from a bombing in Zelenskyy’s own city, Kryvyi Rih, and a drone attack in Kherson that claimed another life.

TAMPA, Fla. — At the Commander in Chief's direction, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces will resume blockading maritime traffic entering and exiting Iranian ports on July 14 at 4 p.m. ET.

CENTCOM forces will enforce the blockade against vessels transiting to or from Iranian ports and coastal areas. The U.S. military continues to support traffic flow through regional waters for all vessels not violating the blockade.

The resumption of the U.S. blockade against Iran follows the initial implementation from April 13 to June 18. CENTCOM forces redirected more than 140 compliant vessels, disabled nine non-compliant ships, and allowed over 50 commercial vessels supporting humanitarian aid to pass through the blockade during the two-month period.

All mariners are advised to monitor Notice to Mariners broadcasts and contact U.S. naval forces on bridge-to-bridge channel 16 when operating in the Gulf of Oman and Strait of Hormuz approaches.

Trump Administration Cracks Down on Banks Lending To Illegal Aliens 1/2

The Trump administration on Monday announcedsweeping new banking rules aimed at cracking down on lending to illegal immigrants, requiring lenders to consider that borrowers without legal work authorization may pose “elevated credit risk,” a move that supporters say could improve housing affordability for Americans.

The rules require banks and credit unions to account forthe possibility that an illegal immigrant borrower could lose his job, be unable to find lawful work, or be removed from the country before repaying a mortgage, auto loan, credit-card balance, or other debt.

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and the National Credit Union Administration issued the joint guidance under President Donald Trump’s May executive order, “Restoring Integrity to America’s Financial System.”

The agencies urged banks to take in account that illegal immigrants may pose increased risks.Banks were told to identify, measure, and control those risks through their underwriting and loan-monitoring systems.

The new rules make immigration enforcement part of ordinary bank lending decisions.A loan supported by income from unauthorized employment must now be evaluated in light of the U.S. government’s efforts to expand workplace enforcement and removals.

The approach resembles the “transition risk” framework regulators previously applied to climate policy. Banks were expected to consider whether future government action or changing consumer preferences could weaken a borrower or strand an asset. Here, the transition risk is immigration enforcement and the possibility that a borrower’s income disappears before a loan is repaid.Banks were also told to examine their exposure to industries, employers, and geographic regions that could be disproportionately affected by the prevalence of illegal immigrants.

A bank with a large concentration of such borrowers could suffer what the agencies called “correlated credit deterioration,” with many loans weakening at once. Regulators said banks may identify signs of credit weakness in loans to borrowers without work authorization even when payments remain current.

The likely result is tighter credit for illegal immigrants. Banks could demand larger down payments and charge higher rates—or completely reject loan applications—when repayment depends on income from unauthorized work.

Fair-lending law does not stand in the way, according to the administration. The guidance directs banks to consult a June 8 statement from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which instructed creditors that the Equal Credit Opportunity Act expressly provides that “a creditor may take the applicant’s immigration status into account,” along with any additional information needed to determine its rights and remedies regarding repayment.The bureau also advised that lenders relying on income from U.S.-based employment should weigh whether a borrower could lose his job if deported.

The guidance completes the reversal of the Biden administration’s position. In October 2023, the CFPB and the Justice Department’s civil rights division issued a joint statement urging lenders to ignore a potential borrower’s immigration status, a move that encouraged lending to illegal aliens. Critics said the Biden policy blatantly ignored statutes authorizing banks to take into account immigration and work authorization status. In January, the two agencies withdrew it, saying it conflicted with the express language of the Equal Credit Opportunity Act.

The OCC’s participation gives the rules broad reach.Gould said the agency is directly responsible for “the lion’s share of banking system assets” and is refocusing supervision on “material financial risk.”

In a speech Monday marking his first year as comptroller, Gould said lawful customers should be judged on “objective risk,” rather than political beliefs, industry affiliations or “reputational considerations that fall outside sound risk management.”

He also made clear that banks will be expected to act on risks identified by the agency, saying the OCC would demand “greater direct and sustained attention from bank decision-makers and faster remediation timeframes,” particularly at the largest banks.

The housing market may see the largest effects from the new policy. Credit determines how much buyers can bid for homes, and reduced mortgage availability for illegal aliens would lower their purchasing power and relieve price pressure in markets with many illegals.

A recent working paper from economists at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas found that illegal immigration substantially increased local housing demand from 2021 through 2024. An inflow of unauthorized workers equal to one percent of local employment was associated with a 2.2 percent increase in home prices and a 1.4 percent increase in rents. The economists attributed roughly 30 percent of home-price growth and 20 percent of rent growth in the average local market to illegal immigrant inflows during the period. They found little evidence that housing construction increased enough to meet the added demand, undermining a key argument made by proponents of the Biden administration’s open borders policies.

Monday’s action extends the administration’s immigration crackdown into the financial system.

Anti-Corruption Probe Links Kushner Luxury Resort To International Drug Trafficking Network

Since breaking ground on a multi-billion dollar luxury resort in Albania, the Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump-led project has done more to reveal a corrupt Zionist pay-for-play scheme than it has to shed light on one of the jewels of the Earth that had gone unnoticed until it fell into the hands of the pair of real estate scions, at least as their recounting of the tale of how it came into their purview would have others believe. After protests initially overran the construction sites of the development across Albania's Adriatic coast, that civil unrest against the project amplified to such an extent that over 100,000 Albanians took to the streets of their nation's capital, Tirana, as part of a civilian-initiated referendum against the resort. The movement, which has become known as the "Flamingo Revolution" due to the protected wildlife on Sazan Island and the adjacent Albanian mainland coast jeopardized by the Kushner-backed project, has led the country's largest protests since the fall of communism in Albania during the early 1990s. After that civil unrest proved to be enough to effectuate an investigation led by Albania's anti-corruption task force; the early revelations from that inquiry have already put the project's future into doubt, a development that threatens to turn the development from a luxury resort idealized as a city upon a hill into a castle made of sand being swept into the sea.

Albania's anti-corruption investigators have turned their attention to Miami-based businessman Artur Shehu as their probe has gone underway. Investigators have zeroed in on Shehu, who sold property that he owned on Albania's Adriatic coast to the Kushner-led company Atlantic Incubation Partners LLC, and his associates due to links they allege exist between them and an international drug trafficking ring and suspicions that the real estate empire Shehu amassed that he was able to profit from through his sale to Kushner was built through forged property records. Although Shehu's lawyer, Kujtim Cakrani, issued a statement on behalf of his client denying all of the accusations made against him by Albania’s Special Structure Against Corruption and Organized Crime ("SPAK"), Cakrani also acknowledged that the country's anti-corruption agency has issued a warrant for Shehu's arrest on charges that he has laundered money for drug gangs.

SPAK alleges that Shehu used the profits he and his associates made from trafficking cocaine into Europe from South America to build his real estate empire. Albania's anti-corruption prosecutors go on to allege that Shehu falsified land-ownership documents in order to launder that money through his real estate holdings. As a result of those allegations, prosecutors have frozen roughly 110 million euros tied to the sale of the property.

Although SPAK made no direct allegations against Kushner or any of the businesses he helms behind the development of the Sazan Island luxury resort, the accusations made against Shehu are not the first to threaten one of Kushner's real estate projects. In December 2025, just weeks before the company behind the Sazan Island project, Atlantic Incubation Partners LLC, was awarded strategic investor status by the Albanian government, Kushner's investment firm Affinity Partners announced that it had withdrawn itself from a $500 million construction project it planned in Serbia over another anti-corruption probe making similar allegations. Affinity Partners had planned to build a Trump Tower complex encompassing a hotel and luxury apartments in central Belgrade on the site of a former Yugoslavian Army headquarters that was destroyed during a NATO bombing raid in 1999 during the Kosovo War. However, that project fell apart after Serbian Culture Minister Nikola Selakovic and three other officials were indicted on charges of abuse of office and falsification of documents filed by the country’s Public Prosecution Office for Organized Crime (”TOK”).

Vance Remembers Sen. Lindsey Graham: ‘One Of A Kind Figure in Our Politics’

Vice President JD Vance remembered Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) after his office announced he died at the age of 71 “from a brief and sudden illness,” describing Graham as a “one of a kind figure in our politics.”

In a post on X,Vance shared his experiences with Graham, such as how he had gotten into a “shouting match” with him regarding a Ukraine funding bill” and how the next day he found out Graham was supporting legislation Vance “really cared about.” Vance also shared that Graham “had the best sense of humor in the Senate.”

“Lindsey Graham came from humble beginnings and became one of the most powerful lawmakers in the most powerful nation on Earth,” Vance wrote. “His story was afundamentallyAmerican one.”

Vance’s post continued: “Early in my Senate tenure, I remember getting into a shouting match with Lindsey about a Ukraine funding bill at lunch andthen learning the very next day that he was pushing rail legislation I really cared about behind the scenes.
