COVID Outbreak Confirmed At Nursing Home Despite Staff, Patients Being Vaccinated

As new COVID cases tumble across North America, sleepy British Columbia has just reported a new outbreak of the virus at a nursing home in the province where both staff members and patients had already been vaccinated.

According to the CBC, a new outbreak of COVID-19 has been declared at the Cottonwoods Care Center, located in the Interior Health region. BC's provincial health officer first acknowledged the outbreak yesterday.

During a live news conference about the outbreak, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry emphasized being vaccinated doesn't mean transmission will be stopped and that precautions must remain in place for seniors and care homes. Dr. Henry said two staff members and 10 residents have tested positive at the Cottonwoods facility, which is a long-term care home with 221 publicly-funded beds. Henry said that all staff and residents at the home were offered immunizations and that there was very high uptake of the vaccine. She said some of the cases were among people who had received two doses of the vaccine.

"You can have transmission even when people are fully vaccinated," she said. "The illness seems to be milder and doesn't transmit as much [and we] won't see rapid explosive outbreaks."

Despite the outbreak, Dr. Henry said the province will offer new guidance by the end of month that will allow for increased visitation at long-term care homes like this.

Increasingly, people around the world are questioning how and why outbreaks can still occur among populations with high vaccination rates. In Israel, where a spate of post-vaccination reactions and deaths were documented and reported as the tiny Mediterranean Country scrambled to be the world leader, the Jerusalem Post has just published an explainer piece entitled "Why would someone fully vaccinated still catch corona?"

In the article, the writer identifies four reasons why an individual might test positive and/or be severely sickened.

There are several reasons why one might develop COVID-19 after vaccination, according to Prof. Jonathan Gershoni of the Shmunis School of Biomedicine and Cancer Research at Tel Aviv University.

The first reason is that the clinical trials for Moderna and Pfizer indicate that the vaccine is 95% efficient in protecting against the disease meaning, according to Johns Hopkins University, that about one out of 20 vaccinated people may not be protected and could still get sick.

The efficacy of protection is calculated based on the number of people who were actually infected in the clinical trials, not on the total number of those that were vaccinated.

It should also be noted that 95% efficacy does not mean that 5% of the people in the Pfizer clinical trial caught coronavirus. According to an article published by Live Science, the percentage was much less - around 0.04%.

The second reason is variants.

The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines were developed based on the original coronavirus strain as discovered and genetically sequenced in Wuhan, China. Since then, the virus has replicated and mutated into thousands of different variants, some of which might render the vaccine less effective.

"We know in Israel that now, the majority of infections are from the UK variant," Gershoni said.

While these vaccines have already proven to be highly effective against the UK variant, they are not as effective against the South African strain, Gershoni said. Furthermore, he added, there could be other variants that are even more vaccine resistant.

The third reason is that immunity is “a numbers game,” the scientist explained.

The disease - or the vaccine - causes our bodies to develop antibodies against the virus. But if someone has an extremely high viral load and sheds that potent load, it is possible that this large amount of virus could break through the existing protection and infect the person. In this case though, it would likely only cause a mild disease.

The fourth and final reason, each person is unique and has her or his own molecular immunological makeup.

"We know some people have a tendency to be very robust and stand up to infections, and other people can be a bit more sensitive," Gershoni said. “When talking in terms of vaccinating five million people in Israel, you are seeing the full spectrum of people with various levels of immune competence.”

But he cautioned that when we talk about “breakthrough infections,” sometimes people were infected before they got their second dose or even their first.

A senior-level law enforcement source in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) told Breitbart Texas they received verbal orders from within the agency limiting their ability to speak freely about the growing crisis along the border.

The official with knowledge of the restrictions spoke under the condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to speak on the matter. “The situation with media relations now is night and day compared to the last administration, The official said. “We have been advised not to speak on immigration issues at the border and to rely on DHS’s Office of Public Affairs and the Whitehouse Press Office to handle messaging.”

The verbal order applies to senior law enforcement leaders within DHS and has no formal expiration date. It comes as the administration is struggling to manage the growing crisis caused by changes in border security and immigration policies leading to a spike in illegal crossings at the border.

As local communities along the border continue to grapple with the release of migrants into their communities, the administration is facing criticism even amongst their own ranks, Breitbart reported.

U.S. Representative Henry Cuellar (D-TX) said in a recent interview on the Fox News Channel, “I can tell you this, those numbers of people that are being released, they’re purposely withholding that information.”

“I now know that they’re bringing people from McAllen over to Laredo, processing them in Laredo, and they’re going to release them in my community,” the Laredo congressman said. “I’ve seen this before, don’t let the local communities know what you’re doing, where they’re starting to bring people in from the valley, process them in Laredo, release them at a bus station. And, again, I’ve seen this before in the past.”

The verbal order delivered through DHS channels is designed to prevent senior leaders from shedding light on the immigration situation that currently plagues the administration. On Saturday, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and Biden’s director of the Domestic Policy Council, Susan Rice, visited several Texas cities to see the situation along the border first hand.

Members of the press were not allowed to be present during the delegation’s visit to Border Patrol stations and a Health and a Human Services unaccompanied children’s detention facility.

Harvard University is developing a web application that will show where “gender inclusive restrooms” are located across campus. The project titled, “The Gender Inclusive Restroom Mapping” hopes to prevent discrimination and anxiety for gender nonconforming individuals who aren’t able to find the appropriate restroom on campus. Harvard also stated that it is a “public health concern.”

According to the Harvard Crimson, the university created four separate working groups that will help with the project. The signage, inventory, mapping technologies, and promotion/communication working groups collaborated to determine the location of restrooms across campus and consulted with groups to promote awareness.

The Government’s War on Free Speech: Protest Laws Undermine the First Amendment

It’s a given that the government is corrupt, unaccountable, and has exceeded its authority.

So what can we do about it?

The first remedy involves speech (protest, assembly, speech, prayer, and publicity), and lots of it, in order to speak truth to power.

The First Amendment, which is the cornerstone of the Bill of Rights, affirms the right of “we the people” to pray freely about our grievances regarding the government. We can gather together peacefully to protest those grievances. We can publicize those grievances. And we can express our displeasure (peacefully) in word and deed.

Unfortunately, tyrants don’t like people who speak truth to power.

The American Police State has shown itself to be particularly intolerant of free speech activities that challenge its authority, stand up to its power grabs, and force it to operate according to the rules of the Constitution.

Cue the rise of protest laws, the police state’s go-to methods for muzzling discontent.

This afternoon we were alerted that the Verkada security camera system that monitors main entry points and main thoroughfares in a handful of Cloudflare offices may have been compromised,” San Francisco-based Cloudflare said in a statement. “The cameras were located in a handful of offices that have been officially closed for several months.” The company said it disabled the cameras and disconnected them from office networks.

Representatives of Tesla and other companies identified in this story didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment. Representatives of the jails, hospitals and schools named in this article either declined to comment or didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.

A video seen by Bloomberg shows officers in a police station in Stoughton, Massachusetts, questioning a man in handcuffs. The hackers say they also gained access to the security cameras of Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, where a gunman killed more than 20 people in 2012.

Also available to the hackers were 330 security cameras inside the Madison County Jail in Huntsville, Alabama. Verkada offers a feature called “People Analytics,” which lets a customer “search and filter based on many different attributes, including gender traits, clothing color, and even a person’s face,” according to a Verkada blog post. Images seen by Bloomberg show that the cameras inside the jail, some of which are hidden inside vents, thermostats and defibrillators, track inmates and correctional staff using the facial-recognition technology. The hackers say they were able to access live feeds and archived video, in some cases including audio, of interviews between police officers and criminal suspects, all in the high-definition resolution known as 4K.

Kottmann said their group was able to obtain “root” access on the cameras, meaning they could use the cameras to execute their own code. That access could, in some instances, allow them to pivot and obtain access to the broader corporate network of Verkada’s customers, or hijack the cameras and use them as a platform to launch future hacks. Obtaining this degree of access to the camera didn’t require any additional hacking, as it was a built-in feature, Kottmann said.

The Department of Defense on Tuesday agreed to keep thousands of National Guard troops stationed at the U.S. Capitol until late May, extending a posting that began after rioters overwhelmed law enforcement on Capitol Hill two months ago.

KEY FACTS

The Pentagon extended the National Guard’s deployment in the nation’s capital to May 23, per a request from the U.S. Capitol Police, the Pentagon said in a statement.

Prior to this extension, the Guard’s mission was set to end on Friday.

About 2,300 troops will remain posted, half the number currently stationed at the Capitol.

Over the next two months, the Pentagon promised to “work with the U.S. Capitol Police to incrementally reduce the National Guard footprint as conditions allow.”

BIG NUMBER

25,000. That’s how many National Guard troops were initially approved to guard the Capitol in mid-January. The number of troops has gradually decreased since then as governors call back their Guard troops and the Capitol’s security needs become less complex.

KEY BACKGROUND

In the days following the Capitol breach, scores of National Guard troops from around the country poured into Washington, D.C. The troops were tasked with preventing a repeat of the Jan. 6 violence during President Joe Biden’s inauguration, former President Donald Trump’s impeachment and other sensitive events. Since then, troops have stuck around to guard against lingering threats, though fears of violence largely haven’t materialized.

CHIEF CRITIC

Some members of Congress have criticized Capitol officials for keeping Guard troops and razor wire fencing in place for months, arguing these measures are intimidating and no longer necessary. Plus, state officials and lawmakers from both parties have questioned the cramped, spartan conditions some troops have been forced to contend with while on duty. At one point in January, troops were seen resting on concrete floors in parking garages, though they were quickly allowed back into the Capitol after bipartisan outrage.

TANGENT

Some officials have called for Capitol security to remain tightened indefinitely, fortifying the building against another attack. This week, a security review by retired Lt. Gen. Russel Honoré suggested hiring hundreds of extra Capitol Police officers and creating a quick reaction force under the D.C. National Guard’s auspices.

Its chances aren’t looking good in the Senate, with the big hurdle of the filibuster.

The US House of Representatives has officially passed a sweeping, bipartisan labor bill, the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act. Cheered by unions and disliked by businesses, the bill likely cannot pass the Senate without filibuster reform.

The bill passed the House Tuesday night on a vote of 225-206. The bill gained the support of five House Republicans, and was co-sponsored by three Republicans: Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick of New York, and Chris Smith and Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey.

If enacted into law, the PRO Act would be one of the most dramatic changes to US labor law in decades. One of the bill’s most significant provisions is a policy that would override state right-to-work laws that weaken unions by letting unionized workers not pay dues. It would also create tougher penalties for employers who interfere in employees’ efforts to unionize.

Should these penalties work as designed, they would remove a major barrier to unionization, Stuart Appelbaum, president of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union, told Vox in a recent interview.

“It’s the workers facing an uneven playing field when they try to assert their right to form a union,” Appelbaum said. “The employer has all sorts of opportunities to intimidate workers and to interfere with their desire to have a fair choice.”

A Florida judge on Monday ordered a psychological evaluation for the man accused of sexually assaulting two stuffed dolls — including an Olaf from “Frozen” — in a Target store.

He admitted his dirty deed to cops, saying he did “stupid stuff” and “nutted” on the Olaf.

Meader’s father told cops his son has a history of this type of behavior, the arrest record said.

As a juvenile, Meader allegedly performed “sexual acts with stuffed animals” in a Clearwater Walmart, according to a police report obtaibed by The Smoking Gun.

Cody Meader, 22, was appointed a psychologist by the circuit court judge ahead of a hearing next month to determine his competency to stand trial, The Smoking Gun reported.

Meader, who is charged with criminal mischief and exposure of sexual organs, allegedly targeted the toys in a St. Petersburg store in October 2019.

He first found a stuffed unicorn and allegedly dry humped it in view of a Target loss prevention officer, according to police and court documents.

The suspect then grabbed an Olaf stuffed animal — of the wildly popular PG-rated Disney movie “Frozen” — and “dry hump[ed]” it “until he ejaculated,” an arrest affidavit said.

In 2020, the Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI) was the first medical conference to go virtual, with two days advance warning, when news of infections resulting from a Biogen Inc. conference with about 150 attendees made it abundantly clear that SARS-CoV-2 was circulating, well, probably everywhere.

At that time, there were “about 350 cases in the whole United States, and most of those were on cruise ships,” reminisced Sharon Hillier, CROI 2021 program committee chair and professor of obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive sciences and microbiology and molecular genetics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

A year later, confirmed U.S. cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection stand at just over 29 million, with half a million deaths. And while the global death toll of the HIV pandemic is an order of magnitude greater than that of COVID-19, the sheer speed by which the virus spread, remaking life across the globe, means that the world has “seen nothing like this since the influenza pandemic of 1919,” National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Tony Fauci told the audience at the CROI opening plenary.

Fauci, and others, spent time at the meeting dissecting how it is possible to learn from each pandemic for the other.

Fauci’s N’Galy-Mann plenary lecture, titled “Lessons from the Concurrent HIV/AIDS and COVID-19 Pandemics: A Two-Way Street,” looked at the high-level picture, but also delved into details like the identification and use of broadly neutralizing antibodies (bnAbs) for each disease.

Marina Caskey, professor of clinical investigation at the Rockefeller University, told the audience in her plenary lecture on “HIV-1 bnAbs: looking ahead” that SARS-CoV-2 was in some ways easier to target than HIV, because “highly potent neutralizing antibodies can be elicited soon after infection [with SARS-CoV-2]… this is in contrast to what we had seen with HIV.”

But the technologies and methods that were developed in the search for anti-HIV bnAbs facilitated the search when SARS-CoV-2 came around, with the result that it took less than a year for the FDA to give emergency use authorization for two antibody cocktails, bamlanivimab/etesevimab (Eli Lilly and Co./Junshi Biologics Co. Ltd./Abcellera Biologics Inc.) and REGN-Cov2 (casirivimab/imdevimab, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc.).

Fauci said the concept of treatment as prevention, first applied in HIV, is also proving to be useful in SARS-CoV-2.

At the meeting, clinical trial results showed that both bamlanivimab as a monotherapy and REGN-CoV2 could prevent disease when given as postexposure prophylaxis.

Meagan O’Brien, senior medical director of early clinical development and clinical experimental sciences, reported interim results from another treatment as prevention study, this one for household contacts of SARS-CoV-2-infected individuals. The interim data showed that a subcutaneous injection of REGN-CoV2 within 96 hours of exposure reduced the risk of infection for exposed household members by 50%, and reduced viral load and disease severity in individuals that did become infected.

Myron “Mike” Cohen, director of the Institute for Global Health and Infectious Diseases at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, reported on the results of the BLAZE-2 trial, which used rapid response teams to treat nursing home residents with bamlanivimab as soon as a facility had reported one case.

Compared to placebo, treatment with bamlanivimab reduced the incidence of “mild or worse” COVID-19 in prophylactically treated patients by roughly 80%, and SARS-CoV-2 infection by roughly 70%. Cohen called the results “provocative and compelling” proof of concept that “passive immunity can prevent infection and prevent progression to disease.”

NAVAL AIR STATION WHIDBEY ISLAND, Wash. (AP) — First lady Jill Biden arrived at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island late Tuesday morning, part of her tour of military bases to meet with service families.

Reports: Trump's name will appear on coronavirus stimulus checks

In what is being called an unprecedented move, the stimulus checks many Americans will receive due to the economic effects of the new coronavirus pandemic will include President Donald Trump's name. That's according to reports by the Washington Post, New York Times and Bloomberg News.

The Post reports it will be the first time a president's name appears on an IRS payment. The addition was made after Trump suggested it to Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, the Post and Times reported.

Various officials, including a Treasury Department spokeswoman cited by Bloomberg, are denying a report by the Post that the addition of Trump's name could delay the checks by several days. The Post was citing unnamed senior IRS officials in that inference. 

Trump's name will reportedly appear in the memo section on the left side of the check and say "President Donald J. Trump." The Times reports this is because Trump is not legally authorized to sign such checks.

The addition of Trump's name will only appear on physical checks that are mailed out. This is not for direct deposits which Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said are expected to start arriving in some 80 million Americans' bank accounts by Wednesday. Those are people who have given their bank account information to the IRS.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) says he witnessed people crossing the Texas-Mexico border Tuesday and said Mexican drug cartels are flooding the border with women and children to overwhelm the Border Patrol to make it easier to smuggle drugs into the country.

The governor visited the Texas-Mexico border Tuesday to highlight security efforts amid a mounting humanitarian crisis.

The visit comes after Saturday's announcement of "Operation Lone Star," a plan by the state to fill the gaps in border security left by the federal government. Operation Lone Star "integrates DPS with the Texas National Guard and deploys air, ground, marine, and tactical border security assets to high threat areas to deny Mexican cartels and other smugglers the ability to move drugs and people into Texas," a news release said.

After taking an aerial tour of the border Tuesday morning, Abbott landed in Mission and addressed the media with a fiery speech where he said he was able to witness several illegal border crossings that were designed by cartels to overwhelm the U.S. Border Patrol and make it easier to move in drugs and move out cash and guns.

Abbott then said it was reprehensible that the federal government had not yet provided COVID-19 vaccines to Border Patrol members who are on the front lines.

"What I'm about to tell you is maybe one of the most reprehensible things I've heard this whole time," Abbott said. "The Biden Administration is not providing vaccinations for the Border Patrol. We have Border Patrol officers whose lives are on the line on a daily basis, an hourly basis, and the Biden Administration will not step up and provide those Border Patrol officers with the vaccinations they need. The Biden Administration should surge vaccines to Texas to all men and women on the Border Patrol this week and ensure that every Border Patrol officer in the state of Texas will be vaccinated this week. Anything less than that is the epitome of inhumanity."

…More than 3,200 unaccompanied migrant children are being housed in Customs and Border Protection holding facilities, two sources confirmed to NBC News. The New York Times, citing internal CBP documents, first reported that the number of detained children "tripled in the last two weeks."

Accused madam Ghislaine Maxwell is enduring “grotesque” conditions while behind bars in Brooklyn that “amounts to torture,” her brother complained Wednesday.

“No human being should have to go through what she’s been put through,” Ian Maxwell, 64, told the BBC in his first broadcast interview in more than 30 years.

“It is really degrading … this is not the way that a democratic country should be running its prison system,” he said of conditions in the Metropolitan Detention Center.

“It’s grotesque and in that respect it amounts to torture,” he insisted.

The Porn Industry as Jewish Anti-Fascist Activism & Cultural Terrorism

Following a series of instances in which porn websites were discovered to be hosting videos depicting the rapes of underage girls (in some cases the platforms refused to take the videos down), some 2 million have since signed a petition to take down a variety of porn sites and prosecute their executives for human trafficking (this scandal recently culminated in a boycott of Pornhub by Mastercard and Visa). In response to increasing anti-pornography sentiment, gaslighting mainstream media publications and academic journals have launched a campaign to smear the anti-pornography movement for encouraging “antisemitism” and “antisemitic conspiracy theories.”

In an article exposing the “the Far-Right Roots of #NoNutNovember,” Rolling Stone describes a large segment of the anti-pornography movement as “a creepy little smorgasbord of insecurity-driven hate with anti-Semitism, misogyny, and homophobia all rolled up in one,” fuelled by the “conspiracy theory that Jews dominate the porn industry and use pornography as a way to control white men.” The article also claims that “anti-masturbation ideology has historically been used as a tool by fascist figures to gain social control” by manipulating sexually repressed men through social shame. The New York Times has also brought attention to this dangerous “conspiracy theory,” which they believe is contributing to “the recent surge in hate crimes.” Antisemitism watchdogs and Jewish newspapers like the Jerusalem Post went apoplectic when an Al-Jazeera affiliate claimed that Jews created and control the porn industry because they “hate Christ.”

Kristoff Kerl summarizes the issue in the Studies in American Jewish Literature journal. According to Kerl, the ludicrous “fantasy” of a Jewish conspiracy behind pornography, which is irrationally promoted by far-right hate groups, is as follows: Jews use porn to “erode the allegedly ‘natural’ order of white supremacy,” to “subvert. . . Christian sexuality,” to engineer a “porn-caused change in sexual orientation. . . [and cause a] crisis of reproduction for the ‘white race,’” to promote miscegenation and “increase the sexual lusts of men of color or Jewish males for white women,” and finally, as “a technique of psychological warfare” to tranquilize and pacify white men.[1]

Doth the lady protest too much?

The answer is yes, despite the protestations of the above articles to the contrary. All these antisemitic “fantasies” can be proven. Even more, all these claims can be proven, straight from the horse’s mouth, by citing gloating Jewish pornographers. Many of these claims originated with Jews themselves, not anti-Semites. Many Jewish pornographers and scholars openly admit that Jews engage in the production and dissemination of pornography to subvert and destroy gentile culture. First, let us establish the enormous Jewish presence within the porn industry so that any claims to the contrary can be dismissed from the get-go.

Porn as a Jewish Industry

Kerl acknowledges in his article that the most notorious pornographers in American history — Ruben Sturman and Steven Hirsch — are Jewish. Known respectively as the “Walt Disney of Porn” and the “Donald Trump of porno,” the two have both possessed the title of being the top distributor of pornography in America. Sturman built his porn empire while evading the FBI, and after dying as the stereotypical greedy Jewish mobster in federal prison, he passed the family business onto his son, David. Hirsch is still alive. He owns Vivid Entertainment, the largest porn network in the world today.

Seth Warshavsky, a Polish-American Jew known for pioneering internet pornography, is called “the public face of online porn.” David F. Friedman founded the Adult Film Association of America. William Margold was a porn director, activist, and director of the Free Speech Coalition, a trade-association for advocating on behalf of the adult film industry. Paul Fishbein, Irv Slifkin, and Barry Rosenblatt own AVN Media, and Mark Spiegler owns Spiegler Girls (Spiegler also allegedly owns the domain for the pedophile website NAMBLA, according to leaks from the now-defunct Porn Wikileaks). More notable Jewish studio owners and adult industry magnates are Seymore Butts, John Stagliano, Phil Harvey, Joe Francis, Winston Wolf, Gary Cremin, Bruce J. Friedman, Cable Rosenberg, Mike Kulich, and Greg Lansky (Mark Collett has a summary here).

The party said it had received a formal complaint against Patrick Grady and that "due process" would now take place.

Video footage shot Monday at the San Ysidro crossing port in Tijuana, Baja California state—just south of the California border—showed a group of migrants, some of them wearing the "Biden Let Us In" t-shirts.

While it's unclear where the migrants got the shirts, similar shirts are available on several websites.
