New Sara Carter: Powell Files Stunning Motion Against Gleeson: It’s A ‘wrap-up smear’ against Flynn.

Sidney Powell, the defense attorney for Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, filed a scathing response in the court Wednesday against federal Judge John Gleeson’s amicus brief, which asked the court to reject the Justice Departments request to drop all charges against Flynn. Powell’s motion is powerful and contains a lengthy time-line revealing the stunning evidence discovered by DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz, as well as, the litany of new evidence uncovered by U.S. Attorney Jeffery Jensen, who was appointed by the Justice Department to conduct an independent review of Flynn’s case.

Powell argues in her brief that the “irony and sheer duplicity” of Gleeson’s accusations “against the Justice Department now—which is finally exposing the truth—is stunning.”

Gleeson submitted his lengthy brief on July 10, on behalf of D.C. Federal Court Judge Emmet G. Sullivan, who appointed him as the amicus and is refusing to drop the case against Flynn. He is doing all this despite the fact that both the Justice Department and defense agree the charges should be dropped against President Donald Trump’s former National Security Advisor.

Powell also pointed out in her filing Wednesday that Gleeson’s filing on behalf of Sullivan is a “wrap-up smear” against Flynn.

“It demonstrates the difference between a Department of Prosecutions and a Department of Justice,” Powell argues in her conclusion regarding Gleeson’s amicus. “It shows how the Department of Justice, as the government’s representative in every federal criminal case, has the power to walk into courtrooms and ask judges to remedy injustices. For these reasons and those stated in our other briefs, the only lawful action this court can take is to dismiss the case with prejudice on the Government’s motion and vacate the plea.”

Further Powell states in her motion, that Gleeson’s “Amicus elides the reality of the egregious government misconduct of the FBI Agents—particularly that of [former FBI Director James] Comey, {Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew] McCabe, [former Special Agent Peter] Strzok, [Former FBI Attorney Lisa] Page, [FBI Special Agent] Joe Pientka, [former FBI Assistant of Counterintelligence Bill] Priestap and others who met repeatedly to pursue the targeted “take-out” of General Flynn for their political reasons and those of the “entirety lame duck usic.” Much of this has been revealed in the December 19, 2019, IG Report, the 86 pages of newly produced exonerating material produced by U.S. Attorney Jensen, filed in the Government’s Motion to Dismiss (ECF No. 198), and hundreds of the texts between Strzok and Page demonstrating abject bias.”

NORAD Jets Scrambled In 8th Russian Bomber Intercept Off Alaska This Year

At a moment "World War 3" happens to be trending on Twitter, there's been another major US-Russian 'intercept' incident of Alaska's coast.

For those keeping count, Tuesday's night's intercept involving NORAD F-22 Raptors and others including KC-135 Stratotankers and US surveillance aircraft marks the eighth such incident involving Russian planes coming close to North American airspace this year alone.

It also marks the fourth wave of Russian bombers making an approach near Alaska in a mere week.

“NORAD F-22 Raptors, supported by KC-135 Stratotankers and an E-3 Airborne Warning and Control System, successfully completed two intercepts of Russian bomber aircraft formations entering the Alaskan Air Defense Identification Zone last night,” the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) said in a tweet.

Like a similar incident a week ago involving two waves of four Russian aircraft each, including long-range Tu-95 nuclear-capable bombers, this latest intercept involved a significant group of multiple aircraft, among them Su-35 fighter jets and a Russian surveillance plane.

“For the eighth time this year, Russian military aircraft have penetrated our Canadian or Alaskan Air Defense Identification Zones and each and every time NORAD forces were ready to meet this challenge,” NORAD Commander General Terrence J. O’Shaugh said in a statement.

The Russian warplanes reportedly stayed in international airspace, but came within just over 30 miles of US territory, according to reports.

The tense encounters are becoming more frequent of late, not only over the Bering Sea, but over the Mediterranean, Baltic, and Black Sea regions as well.

The man, the meme, the legend behind this trend is Karl Marx, who developed the theory of communism, which advocates for workers’ control over their labor (instead of their bosses). ‘Invasion’: Dozens More Illegal Boat Migrants Brought Ashore at Dover

Some 70 illegal boat migrants reached Britain on Tuesday, as the number of Channel migrant crossings have set an annual record, despite being only halfway through the year.

The illegal migrants attempted to cross the English Channel despite the foggy condition, before being brought ashore by UK Border Force. The crossings bring the total number of illegal boat migrants recorded this year to have reached British shores to over 2,000, a new record, compared to 1,890 for the whole of last year.

On Tuesday, two of the estimated 70 migrants attempted to row their way across the Channel from France in a small fibreglass canoe.

Since the national lockdown was introduced on March 23rd — restricting the movement of British citizens in order to contain the spread of the Chinese coronavirus — approximately 1,620 migrants have sailed from camps in France to the UK, despite reports of COVID outbreaks in Calais and Dunkirk.

Once escorted to the Port of Dover, migrants are given masks by immigration officials, yet are rarely tested for the disease, according to the Daily Mail.

In response to the crossings, a Coast Guard spokesman said: “HM Coastguard has been coordinating search and rescue responses to incidents off Kent today, working with Border Force, Kent Police and other partners.”

“HM Coastguard is only concerned with preservation of life, rescuing those in trouble and bringing them safely back to shore, where they will be handed over to the relevant partner emergency services or authorities,” he added.

Leaked documents obtained by Breitbart Texas demonstrate an intricate weave of corruption featuring former Tamaulipas state officials who allegedly worked with the Gulf Cartel and Los Zetas. Several politicians, including two former governors, face criminal charges in the U.S.

Another one of the witnesses, Jesus Rodrigo Andrade Gallegos, claimed Governor Hernandez would meet with Gulf Cartel brass at the Maeva Hotel in Tampico. The witness also claimed that Governor Hernandez would consume drugs during those gatherings and, in a few instances, was rushed to a nearby private hospital called Beneficencia Espanola when he overindulged. The documents also show that Hernandez denied the allegations made by Andrade Gallegos.

Atlanta Authorities Release New Photos of Wendy’s Arson Suspect

The Atlanta Fire Department has released new photos of one of two female suspects in an arson investigation after a Wendy’s restaurant was set on fire during protests over the shooting death of Rayshard Brooks. Brooks was shot and killed on June 12 after seizing control of an officer’s stun gun and fleeing during an arrest attempt in the parking lot of the Wendy’s. According to a police account, Brooks turned and fired the stun gun at Atlanta Police officer Garrett Rolfe, who shot and killed Brooks. The incident, which is being investigated, sparked protests, which became unruly Saturday night, leading to the restaurant being gutted and set ablaze.

In a press conference Tuesday, chief fire investigator James Oliver said the fire was started by several people, using items that included fireworks and a “homemade blowtorch.” Oliver said there are multiple suspects in the case and that investigators only have “quality photos of two of them,” adding that he believes both suspects are white females. Oliver said the State Arson control board has offered an additional $10,000 reward in the case, bringing the total to $20,000 for information leading to arrests.

Roughly 150 protesters marched Saturday night around the Wendy’s restaurant outside where Brooks was shot after police tried to handcuff him for being intoxicated behind the wheel of his car at the restaurant drive-thru. Brooks was cooperative during more than 30 minutes of conversation before things rapidly spun out control. He wrestled with officers, snatched one of their stun guns and pointed it at one of them as he ran through the parking lot. The officer who shot Brooks in the back was fired, and prosecutors are weighing charges against him and another member of the force. The incident prompted the resignation of the city’s Police Chief Erika Shields, who in a statement said, “It is time for the city to move forward and build trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve.” The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said that Brooks, who was seen on body camera video sleeping in a car blocking the Wendy’s drive-thru, failed a sobriety test.

Moderna Executive Stakes Trimmed Even Before Latest Lockup Lifts

Moderna Inc. executives have been continuing a slow unwind of their positions - even though a lockup remains in place until Thursday.

After a $1.3 billion share sale in May, the vaccine developer’s second cash raise this year, early investors and Moderna management were once again restricted from selling shares. On June 18, those insiders will get a fresh chance to cash in on Moderna’s stratospheric rise, but similar to the prior offering, a handful of the company’s executives have already taken advantage of another way to sell: 10b5-1 trading plans.

The plans let insiders trade their shares at predetermined times or prices. These types of arrangements have faced scrutiny in the past over their potential to aid executives in getting around insider-trading laws. It’s not clear if the shares recently sold are subject to the lockup.

Chief Executive Officer Stephane Bancel has sold about 293,000 shares since the start of the year, though he still holds a 1.9% direct stake valued at more than $460 million. President Stephen Hoge has sold 11,000 shares since the start of the year; his less-than-1% stake is worth roughly $127 million. Chief Medical Officer Tal Zaks appears to have sold off his entire equity stake by May 5 and has been exercising options since then.

After the May lockup expiry, top holder Flagship Pioneering Inc., a firm started by Moderna’s co-founder and Chairman Noubar Afeyan, distributed 10 million shares to investors, leaving it with an 11% stake worth $2.6 billion today.

The latest lockup expires ahead of a late-stage study that’s expected to begin in July along with the tantalizing prospect of the Cambridge, Massachusetts-based firm being one of the first to develop a viable vaccine for the coronavirus pandemic that has swept across the globe.

With the stock price more than tripling this year Moderna has offered investors the second-best return of any company in the Nasdaq Biotechnology Index. The top spot belongs to another vaccine developer, Inovio Pharmaceuticals Inc. Its shares have more than quadrupled in 2020, though Inovio has yet to bring a product to market in its years as a publicly traded company. A Moderna spokeswoman didn’t immediately respond to an email seeking comment. An outside representative for Flagship declined to comment on plans ahead of Thursday’s lockup expiry.

Job cuts are part of a broader restructuring program to cut annual costs by $4.5 billion by 2022

HSBC (HSBC), the largest bank in the U.K., said it will carry on with a plan to cut 35,000 jobs. The restructuring was originally announced in February but was postponed due to the emergence of the coronavirus pandemic.

The London-based lender has a global workforce of 235,000. At its peak, HSBC once boasted some 300,000 employees.

HSBC will also freeze almost all external hiring and seek to fill available vacancies internally.

“We could not pause the job losses indefinitely - it was always a question of ‘not if, but when’,” said Chief Executive Noel Quinn.

“I know that this will not be welcome news and that it will create understandable concern and uncertainty, but I want to be open with you about the reality of the current situation,” Quinn added in an internal memo.

Quinn said the job cuts were necessary now in light of falling profits and challenging economic forecasts. The chief executive has also ordered senior executives to identify more ways to cut costs in the second half of 2020.

The majority of the cuts will likely take place in the back offices at Global Banking and Markets, which includes HSBC’s investment banking and trading segments.

Japan stuck with $1.6bn bill after scrapping Aegis Ashore system

As Japan prepares to officially halt deployment of the Aegis Ashore missile defense system, it faces the question of what to do about previously signed contracts with the U.S. worth 70% of its estimated total procurement costs.

Defense budgets through fiscal 2019 included 173.2 billion yen ($1.6 billion) in related contracts. Japan has signed a $320 million-plus contract with Lockheed Martin for radar systems, while the physical installations are being purchased through the U.S. government.

The total cost of planned procurements for the two batteries, including the radars and other components such as launch equipment, comes to about $2.3 billion. Having such a huge deal evaporate is unlikely to sit well with the U.S., which has under President Donald Trump pushed Japan to make big defense purchases.

Defense Minister Taro Kono told a lower house national security committee Tuesday that Tokyo and Washington would "properly discuss" the matter but made clear that Japan would be on the hook for some expenses. "We don't expect the expenditures to be zero. I apologize," he said. The fiscal 2020 budget earmarked more than $90 million for procurement of launch equipment. The remaining $600 million-plus for the installations that has not yet been budgeted will be put on hold. Because of the limited number of players in arms manufacturing, prices tend to run high, and contracts are often paid out over several years. This is the case with Aegis Ashore. Payments for previously signed agreements are included in each year's defense budget in much the same way as loan repayments. Japan is procuring everything but the radars and launch equipment through Washington's Foreign Military Sales program, which usually requires payment in advance rather than in exchange for goods received. Tokyo has paid about $115 million toward Aegis Ashore-related FMS purchase agreements.

The Defense Ministry estimates the total cost of the project, including 30 years of operating expenses, at roughly $4.2 billion. Kono cited the cost of necessary overhauls as a major factor behind the suspension. At one of the planned installation sites, the Defense Ministry had initially offered assurances that booster rockets carrying interceptors would fall within a Ground Self-Defense Force training ground rather than nearby residential neighborhoods. But it has since become clear that this cannot be guaranteed without significant modifications. Kono put the cost at more than $1.8 billion.

With negotiations with local authorities at both sites going nowhere, the government has not budgeted for land development and building construction for the batteries, for fear of a further backlash. And the government's cost estimates do not include missiles, which reportedly carry a price tag of nearly $30 million each. Adding in that expense could push the total cost of the project into the tens of billions of dollars, by some estimates.

In 2017, when the project was still in the decision-making stage, the ministry put the cost of each Aegis Ashore installation at about 80 billion yen. This was cheaper than a cutting-edge Aegis-equipped ship, which was one of the ministry's selling points for the land-based batteries.

The Aegis Ashore project has highlighted issues with Japan's defense procurement system. The price and delivery date of purchases through the FMS program are set at Washington's sole discretion, which has contributed to Tokyo's swelling defense spending. Japan's defense budget topped 5.3 trillion yen in fiscal 2020, a sixth straight record high.

The Aegis Ashore deployment was a top-down decision by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Trump, who has pressured Japan to make pricey defense purchases to rebalance a bilateral relationship he has decried as unfair.

Relying on American-made gear carries risks, as any flaws could leave gaps in Japan's defenses that Tokyo cannot address on its own.

"If we don't make [defense equipment] in Japan, this sort of thing will keep happening," former Defense Minister Gen Nakatani said Tuesday in a meeting of Abe's Liberal Democratic Party.

Air France, a subsidiary of the Air France-KLM Group, is preparing to cut 8,300 jobs by offering staff incentives to leave the airline voluntarily.

Bloomberg reported that the measure was designed to prevent a political backlash since Air France-KLM received a massive 11 billion euro ($12.4 billion) taxpayer-funded bailout from the French and Dutch governments.

Air France will reportedly seek to eliminate 300 pilots, 2,000 cabin crew and 6,000 ground staff – amounting to 17% of its workforce.

The restructuring is part of a strategic review ordered by Air France Chief Executive Officer Ben Smith and will come in the wake of thousands of job cuts announced by other major European air carriers, including British Airways and Deutsche Lufthansa.

However, job cuts at Air France could be politically risky since the French government alone is providing 7 billion euros ($7.9 billion) of the aforementioned state bailouts. By offering “voluntary” terminations and avoiding enforced firings, Smith hopes to pacify unions and French government officials.

Junior Transport Minister Jean-Baptiste Djebbari said on Wednesday that any changes at the airline should be achieved “without social suffering.”

Under terms of the bailout, Air France, which employs about 46,000 people, also agreed to cut domestic capacity by 40% by the end of next year and to reduce its carbon emissions.

Mexico: The Evolution Of The Drug Wars And The Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación

Amidst the escalating violence and chaos of the drug wars in Mexico over the last two decades, one group has emerged as the dominant force amongst the numerous cartels and other organized crime and illegal armed groups – the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generaciòn.

Notwithstanding some important differences, there are also many parallels between the situation with respect the emergence and proliferation of powerful drug cartels and the explosion of related violence, crime and corruption in Mexico and Colombia. From relatively humble beginnings, both countries saw the emergence of a small number of centralized cartels which came to control the lion’s share of the drug trade within a short period of time.

During the 1980s, most of the drug trade in Mexico (mainly marijuana, cocaine and opium at that time), and from there to the US, was controlled by the Guadalajara Cartel under the leadership of Miguel Angel Felix Quintero, who managed to arrange a pact with other groups to avoid competition and disputes. In Colombia the burgeoning cocaine production was almost entirely under the control of the cartels based in Medellin (ostensibly under the leadership of Pablo Escobar) and Cali (headed by the Orejuela brothers) respectively. Towards the end of the decade Mexico became the main transport corridor for cocaine from Colombia to the US, and cooperation between the cartels in each country increased.

Following violent disputes and increasingly successful joint operations against the leadership of the cartels in both countries, from the early 1990s the main cartels were broken up and fragmented into smaller groups which were more difficult to identify and confront. Despite the widely acclaimed successes in capturing or killing the most prominent figures, the overall volume of production and trade of illegal drugs was not significantly affected.

Over time, the main cartels once again grew in size and capacity due to the vast revenues generated, sometimes cooperating to allocate market share, specific activities and regions, sometimes engaging in extremely violent and destructive feuds to take over or eliminate their rivals. In Colombia, the paramilitary groups and insurgent groups came to dominate the drug trade during the 1990s.

Irrespective of whether illicit drug production and distribution has been controlled by a small number of large ‘cartels’ or illegal armed groups or a large number of smaller gangs, overall levels of production and supply have not been significantly affected notwithstanding the vast quantities of resources dedicated to the drug wars by the US and other countries in the region.

The Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación has been well placed to adopt this strategy, its superior firepower enabling it to annihilate smaller groups in many areas and assume responsibility for imposing social order and control in areas where State security forces are unable or unwilling to do so, its vast revenues enabling it to provide employment, fund community projects and run extensive propaganda campaigns.

In areas where their presence is strongest, cartels and other illegal armed groups have moved beyond controlling the illegal markets as such to controlling every aspect of the lives of the residents in the area, imposing ‘taxes’ on businesses and specific social or economic sectors or transactions and supporting politicians willing to collaborate with them (and brutally murdering those who refuse to collaborate). Their rule is achieved primarily through terror and exemplary punishments or, alternatively, random massacres demonstrating incredible acts of cruelty and brutality to demonstrate their power and impunity and dissuade any thought of resistance or non-collaboration.

In Colombia, the antecedents of such events can be traced directly to the counter-insurgency doctrine, practiced by the Colombian ruling classes in rudimentary form over many years and ‘perfected’ by the US as its direct and indirect participation in Colombia’s social and armed conflict increased, particularly during and since the 1960s. As with the cartels and paramilitary groups in Colombia, their counterparts in Mexico have also benefited enormously by recruiting extensively from the security forces and infiltrating them directly. Although the links between local and national political and economic elites, landlords and ‘public security forces’ (or private security companies and militias) are not as direct and explicit in Mexico as in Colombia, and tend to be obfuscated by the high levels of more generalized violence, illegality and corruption, in many cases similar trends can be discerned in the sense that acts of exemplary brutality by illegal armed groups designed to terrorize and forcibly displace or control particular communities in rural and remote zones often benefit local and national elites, rarely oppose or confront them, and often take place without the slightest interference by the police or military even in zones where they have been deployed in force.

According to an April 2019 report of the University of San Diego’s Justice in Mexico project:

“The ability of organized crime groups to thrive hinges critically on the acquiescence, protection, and even active involvement of corrupt government officials, as well as corrupt private sector elites, who share the benefits of illicit economic activities.”

In this way, the violence associated with the drug trade (and in Colombia with the long-running armed conflict) overlaps with many traditional sources of disputes, such as over land (typically between landlords and small holders) and natural resources (between companies and rural and Indigenous communities). Invariably the illegal armed groups end up serving the interests of the landlords and agribusiness corporations, usually with cover provided by politicians, police and military personnel.

The most recent splintering of the large DTOs into competing factions and gangs of different sizes began around 2017 and continues today. The proliferation of smaller and more specialized crime groups has made the crime situation even more diffuse and the groups’ criminal behaviour harder to eradicate. Moreover, often the various smaller organizations resist the imposition of agreements to limit violence. The growth of rivalries among a greater number of organized crime and illegal armed groups has produced continued violence, notwithstanding that these smaller and more fragmented groups are “less able to threaten the State and less endowed with impunity.”

The older, large DTOs tended to be hierarchical, often bound by familial ties and led by high profile cartel kingpins. In many cases however they have been replaced by flatter, more nimble organizations that tend to be loosely networked. The larger groups that remain, of which the Cartel Jalisco-Nueva Generación (CJNG) is currently widely reported to be the largest and most powerful, are also increasingly resorting to the outsourcing of certain aspects of production, trafficking and other activities. The ascendency of the CJNG in recent times has been facilitated by the relative decline of the once all-powerful Sinaloa cartel whose notorious chief, Joaquin Guzmán Loera (“El Chapo”), received a life sentence in a maximum-security US prison in July 2019.

The Cartel Jalisco-New Generation

The report completed by the Congressional Research Service in 2019 (Mexico: Organized Crime and Drug Trafficking Organizations) describes the emergence and subsequent expansion of the Cartel Jalisco-New Generation:

Originally known as the Zeta Killers, the CJNG made its first appearance in 2011 with a roadside display of the bodies of 35 alleged members of Los Zetas. The group is based in Jalisco state with operations in central Mexico, including the states of Colima, Michoacán, Mexico State, Guerrero, and Guanajuato. It has grown into a dominant force in the states of the Tierra Caliente, including Guerrero and Michoacán. Reportedly, it has been led by many former associates of slain Sinaloa DTO leader Ignacio “Nacho” Coronel, who operated his faction in Jalisco until he was killed by Mexico’s security forces in July 2010. CJNG has early roots in the Milenio Cartel, which was active in the tierra caliente region of southern Mexico before it disintegrated in 2009. The group is a by-product of the Milenio Cartel’s collapse and was allied with the Sinaloa federation until 2014.

Cartel Jalisco-New Generation reportedly served as an enforcement group for the Sinaloa DTO until summer 2013. Analysts and Mexican authorities have suggested the split between Sinaloa and CJNG is one of the many indications of a general fragmentation of crime groups. Ruben Oseguera Cervantes, alias “El Mencho,” a top wanted fugitive by the DEA, is the group’s current leader. The Mexican military delivered a blow to the CJNG with the July 2013 capture of its leader’s deputy, Victor Hugo “El Tornado” Delgado Renteria. In January 2014, the Mexican government arrested the leader’s son, Rubén Oseguera González (also known as “El Menchito”), believed to be CJNG’s second-in-command. However, El Menchito, who has dual U.S.-Mexican citizenship, was released in December 2014 due to lack of evidence in a federal case. Captured again in late June 2015, El Menchito was again released by a judge. On July 3, 2015, he was rearrested by Mexican authorities; he is being held in the Miahutlan, Oaxaca, maximum-security prison. (He was finally extradited to the US early in 2020.)

In 2015, the Mexican government declared CJNG one of the most dangerous cartels in the country and one of two with the most extensive reach. In October 2016, the U.S. Department of the Treasury echoed the Mexican government when it described the group as one of the world’s “most prolific and violent drug trafficking organizations.” According to some analysts, CJNG has operations throughout the Americas, Asia, and Europe. The group allegedly is responsible for distributing cocaine and methamphetamine along “10,000 kilometers of the Pacific coast in a route that extends from the Southern Cone to the border of the United States and Canada.”

Bolton's Book Revealed In Coordinated Leaks, Claims Trump Asked Xi Favor, Dems Fumbled Impeachment

An anti-Trump book written by Former National Security Adviser John Bolton has leaked to the New York Times, the Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal.

In it, the disappointed Iran war hawk says that House Democrats should have conducted a broader probe into President Trump beyond Ukraine, "for a variety of instances when he sought to intervene in law enforcement matters for political reasons."

Mr. Bolton describes several episodes where the president expressed willingness to halt criminal investigations “to, in effect, give personal favors to dictators he liked,” citing cases involving major firms in China and Turkey. “The pattern looked like obstruction of justice as a way of life, which we couldn’t accept,” Mr. Bolton writes, adding that he reported his concerns to Attorney General William P. Barr.

Mr. Bolton also adds a striking new allegation by saying that Mr. Trump overtly linked trade negotiations to his own political fortunes by asking President Xi Jinping of China to buy a lot of American agricultural products to help him win farm states in this year’s election. Mr. Trump, he writes, was “pleading with Xi to ensure he’d win. He stressed the importance of farmers, and increased Chinese purchases of soybeans and wheat in the electoral outcome.” -NYT

UK House of Lords votes to force nearly-unlimited abortion on Northern Ireland

The country's own assembly had rejected the regulations.

The United Kingdom’s House of Lords voted overwhelmingly Monday to impose abortion-on-demand onto Northern Ireland, despite the will of her people and elected representatives.

Last year, the UK Parliament voted to repeal Sections 58 and 59 of Northern Ireland’s 1861 Offences Against the Person Act, which forbid both women and doctors from committing abortions. Complicating the issue was the fact that Northern Ireland’s assembly had been suspended for more than two years.

But the assembly has since reconvened, and on June 2 voted to reject the proposed replacement regulations, which would allow abortion up to 24 weeks and abortions up to birth on the basis of “disability.”

That didn’t matter to the House of Lords, however, which voted 355-77 approve the regulations, Catholic News Agency reported. The issue must now be voted on by the House of Commons, which is slated for Wednesday.

“We now have a functioning Northern Ireland Assembly. Abortion is a devolved matter. The assembly voted to reject these regulations on June 2,” argued independent Lords member Nuala O’Loan. “I ask you to listen to the people of Northern Ireland. Listen to our assembly. Do not approve these regulations."

Monday’s vote “made a mockery of democracy,” added independent Lords member David Alton. “The political elites wonder why people have become so alienated and disillusioned with them - this evening’s proceedings should give them the answer.”

Faithwire’s Will Maule noted that Northern Ireland saw just 13 abortions from 2016 to 2017, whereas England and Wales saw an estimated 200,000. In just two months after repeal taking effect, March 31 to May 22, Northern Ireland saw 129 abortions.

“Seventy-nine percent of the people in Northern Ireland who responded to the public consultation rejected the government’s proposals regarding the abortion regime,” says the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children.

China will cancel the debt of several African countries in the form of interest-free government loans and will accelerate the construction of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) headquarters, Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Wednesday, amid the global coronavirus disease epidemic.

"China will start ahead of schedule the construction of the Africa CDC headquarters this year. China will work with Africa to fully deliver the health care initiative adopted at the FOCAC Beijing Summit, and speed up the construction of China-Africa Friendship Hospitals and the cooperation between paired-up Chinese and African hospitals," president Xi said during the Extraordinary China-Africa Summit on Solidarity against COVID-19 in Beijing.

He also outlined the process of debt cancellation for a number of African countries.

"Within the FOCAC [Forum on China-Africa Cooperation] framework, China will cancel the debt of relevant African countries in the form of interest-free government loans that are due to mature by the end of 2020. For those African countries that are hardest hit by the coronavirus and are under heavy financial stress, China will work with the global community to give them greater support, by such means as further extending the period of debt suspension, to help them tide over the current difficulty," Xi promised, adding that Beijing hopes other countries and financial institutions follow suit.

China and Africa have been enjoying a mutually beneficial partnership in various areas for decades, with the FOCAC serving as the main platform for facilitating cooperation between Beijing and its partners on the continent.

Antony Sutton has been persecuted but never prosecuted for his research and subsequent publishing of his findings. His mainstream career was shattered by his devotion towards uncovering the truth. In 1968, his Western Technology and Soviet Economic Development was published by The Hoover Institute at Stanford University. Sutton showed how the Soviet state's technological and manufacturing base, which was then engaged in supplying the North Vietnamese the armaments and supplies to kill and wound American soldiers, was built by US firms and mostly paid for by the US taxpayers. From their largest steel and iron plant, to automobile manufacturing equipment, to precision ball-bearings and computers, basically the majority of the Soviet's large industrial enterprises had been built with the United States help or technical assistance.

Professor Richard Pipes of Harvard said in his book, Survival Is Not Enough: Soviet Realities and America's Future (Simon & Schuster;1984): "In his three-volume detailed account of Soviet Purchases of Western Equipment and Technology . . . [Antony] Sutton comes to conclusions that are uncomfortable for many businessmen and economists. For this reason his work tends to be either dismissed out of hand as 'extreme' or, more often, simply ignored."

The report was too much and Sutton's career as a well-paid member of the academic establishment was under attack and he was told that he "would not survive".

His work led him to more questions than answers. "Why had the US built-up it's enemy? Why did the US build-up the Soviet Union, while we also transferred technology to Hitler's Germany? Why does Washington want to conceal these facts?"

Sutton, following his leads, proceeded to research and write his three outstanding books on Wall Street, FDR, the Rise of Hitler, and The Bolshevik Revolution. Then, someone sent Antony a membership list of Skull and Bones and "a picture jumped out". And what a picture! A multigenerational foreign-based secret society with fingers in all kinds of pies and roots going back to 'Illuminati' influences in 1830's Germany.

Explosive leaked text messages have revealed Victorian MP Anthony Byrne once suggested he wanted a Labor colleague decapitated with his “head cut off and then I am going to p*ss on his corpse”.

In an extraordinary act of political payback over the 60 Minutes secret tapes scandal that has rocked the Labor Party and destroyed Victorian powerbroker Adem Somyurek’s career, the sacked minister has dumped a treasure trove of text messages from the federal MP he believes played a role in setting him up.

Mr Somyurek was sacked from the Andrews government ministry this week, after 60 Minutes broadcast audio of him describing a female minister as a “psycho b*tch” and suggesting he wanted to knock her head off.

But in Mr Byrne’s own texts to Mr Somyurek, he uses decapitation references – twice – to express his displeasure with two Labor colleagues.

During the exchanges he suggests a political decapitation should be arranged for former Victorian powerbroker Alan Griffin.

“Griffin has tried to f**k me on a redistribution.....this is a cluster fk,’’ he wrote in November, 2017.

“I want Griffin destroyed. I want his head cut off and then I am going to p*ss on his corpse.’’

The leaked texts will place fresh pressure on Labor leader Anthony Albanese to strip Mr Byrne of his role as deputy chair of Parliament’s powerful standing committee on intelligence matters.

Lawyers for Gen. Michael Flynn, the defendant in an increasingly complex and multilayered prosecution case related to the Trump-Russia investigation, argued in a new filing today that the ex-judge called in to argue against dropping that case has engaged in a "flagrant personal and partisan assault" against the general.

The lawyers further argued that the judge overseeing Flynn's case had "no authority" to call in former Judge John Gleeson as an amicus curiae instead of dismissing the case per the federal government's request.

Flynn plead guilty in 2017 to lying to FBI agents during an interview pursuant to the then-burgeoning Trump-Russia inquiry. He withdrew that guilty plea earlier this year; the Justice Department last month subsequently dropped its case against him and asked the D.C. District Court to do the same.

But the judge in charge of Flynn's case, Emmet Sullivan, declined to do so, instead calling in Gleeson to file an opinion arguing against the motion to dismiss.

Army Offers Big Bonuses, Races to Sign 10,000 New Recruits in 3 Days

The U.S. Army plans to offer hefty bonuses some up to $40,000 to new recruits who sign up for nine skill specialties the service still needs to recruit before the end of the fiscal year.

The bonuses are part of the final push to meet the Army's end-strength goal of 485,000 by Sept. 30. Recruiting officials hope to sign up 10,000 new recruits alone during the service's first nationwide virtual hiring campaign scheduled for June 30-July 2.

"We are going after 10,000 ... over these three days," Maj. Gen. Frank Muth, commander of Army Recruiting Command, told defense reporters today during a phone-in discussion.

The three-day event which will include all Army senior leaders as well as recruiters is an attempt to make up some ground the Army lost after its decision to temporarily shutter its recruiting stations and shift to 100% virtual recruiting in mid-March to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus.

The Army had just begun to recover from a recruiting shortfall in fiscal 2018, when it missed its goal by 6,500 soldiers. The service surpassed its recruiting goal for fiscal 2019 after launching a broad recruiting strategy that targeted 22 major cities and leveraged social media to connect with Generation Z.

The Army needs to recruit somewhere between 63,000 and 67,000 recruits by Sept. 30, Muth said, adding that the exact number will depend on the Army's retention numbers.

In late April, the Army increased its retention goal by 2,000 after surpassing its original retention goal of 50,200 in early March. It quickly reached 51,000 after that. Many soldiers decided to reenlist rather than face an uncertain future in a civilian job market that's still struggling under the effects of COVID-19.

"We are doing very well on retention," said E. Casey Wardynski, assistant secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs, who added that the service has already retained 52,700 soldiers.

The Army still needs to recruit soldiers into ten military occupational skill specialties.

The Army is offering bonuses of up to $40,000 or student loan reimbursement up to $65,000 to soldiers that sign up for nine of the top 10 MOSs, depending on factors such as the MOS selected and the length of the contract, Army officials said.

Here is a list of the 10 ten MOSs eligible for bonuses:

The Army is also offering a special bonus of up to $2,000 for the three-day nationwide virtual hiring campaign "if you sign up in these days," Muth said.

Turkish diplomat Volkan Bozkir has been elected president of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly, current president Tijjani Muhammad-Bande said on Wednesday.

“His Excellency Mr. Volkan Bozkir of Turkey is elected as the president of the General Assembly of the 75th session,” Muhammad-Bande said.

Volkan was the only candidate running for the position that begins with the start of the 75th session on 15 September.

Muhammad-Bande also went on to announce that India, Mexico, Norway and Ireland are going to be a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council. This bid was lost by Canada, who tried to quest the seat for the second time.

"Having obtained the majority of the members present and voting and the greatest number of votes, India, Ireland, Mexico and Norway are the elected members of the Security Council for a two-year term beginning on 1 January, 2020," Muhammad-Bande said.

UN General Assembly and Security Council are two key organs organs of the United Nations. UNGS members meet every September, as this year's meeting is scheduled to take place in New York on 15-30 September.

Rwanda Approves Legislation Allowing Russia to Build Nuclear Facilities

The government of Rwanda approved a plan on Monday to build a center of nuclear science and technologies aimed at promoting economic growth, the Russian state atomic company Rosatom announced on Tuesday.

In a plenary session of the Rwandan Chamber of Deputies on Monday, lawmakers approved legislation ratifying a recent agreement between Rwanda and Russia on the joint cooperation in the construction of the Centre of Nuclear Science and Technology in the African country.

The agreement, signed in the Russian city Sochi in October, will reportedly allow for scientific research and “practical application” of nuclear technologies that the country’s Ministry of Infrastructure hopes will advance several sectors of the economy including agriculture, health, education, sciences, and industry.

Rwanda’s Minister of Infrastructure Claver Gatete explained that his government was only beginning the process of employing nuclear energy applications for “peaceful purposes,” such as the preservation of foods using nuclear technology and improving security devices in vehicles.

“If we do not have skills in such areas, we have a big problem,” he argued. “That is why we want to build the prerequisite skills, which requires laboratory and trained people.”

The deal did not go down without debate, with the chairman of the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda, Dr. Frank Habineza MP, admitting his concern of sufficient evidence that the “negative impacts that overweight the benefits,” citing issues of waste management and the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster.

“Why do we spend money on something that will kill us and has waste effects?” he asked lawmakers. “This is a bomb that can blow and kill us in millions and have a lasting impact on the community and neighbors. How are we going to account for this to the next generation?”

MP Damien Nyabyenda, who tabled the legislation, cited the new jobs and other benefits it could bring to the economy, as well as the various international agreements that have already been signed to meet the necessary standards of waste management in line with regulations set out by the International Atomic Energy Agency.

“Already the first batch of 50 Rwandans are doing masters in nuclear sciences and will return here to implement the project to improve agriculture research, food and medicine storage, including geological studies,” Nyabenda said. “Yes, few countries have nuclear in Africa but we as Rwanda are sovereign and can do what is beneficial to us without looking to others that is why we choose to buy in the project.”

“Rwanda has a plan to do a feasibility study on how to monitor and implement the projects and its impact—in case of an accident,” he added.

Rosatom is the world’s biggest nuclear company in terms of foreign custom, with 36 countries including Bangladesh, Belarus, China, Egypt, Finland, Hungary, India, and Turkey, all having purchased their technology. It is also the largest supplier of electricity in Russia.

Last week, the organization also announced it had agreed to a deal with Ethiopia to help develop its nuclear infrastructure. It is currently also in talks with South Africa about the possibility of building more nuclear reactors, although President Cyril Ramaphosa recently put these plans on hold.

Justice Department Official Plans To Resign After Signing Bolton Lawsuit, Email Says

The Department of Justice’s chief of the Civil Division announced plans to resign after signing a lawsuit over former National Security Adviser John Bolton’s forthcoming book, according to a staff email.

Joseph H. Hunt announced Tuesday in a staff email his intent to resign and leave July 3, according to The New York Times, which obtained the message. Hunt’s email came hours after signing the Trump administration’s lawsuit, alleging Bolton’s upcoming book contained classified information and breached his contract, according to the DOJ complaint.

Hunt’s motives for the decision to resign are unclear, reported TheNYT.

“I have the utmost respect and admiration for you because I have personally witnessed the manner in which you have carried out your responsibilities,” Hunt’s email said.

Hunt has been the DOJ chief of the Civil Division since 2018, a department that defends the Trump administration against lawsuits, reported TheNYT.

The Trump administration’s lawsuit against Bolton came after President Donald Trump suggested Monday that Bolton will face legal problems if he proceeds with publishing the memoir.

Hunt is the third DOJ official to resign within the past week. Others included head of the Criminal Division Brian A. Benczkowski and Solicitor General Noel J. Francisco, according to The NYT. Previously, Hunt was chief of staff under former Attorney General Jeff Sessions and has been with the DOJ since 1999.

The Department of Justice did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation in time for publication.

A US Marine has died in a parachute jumping exercise at the Fort Benning Army installation in Georgia, officials confirmed Wednesday.

The Associated Press (AP) has received the name of the Marine but is withholding on announcing the name until a formal statement is released by military officials regarding the incident.

In a statement to AP, the US Marine Forces Special Operations Command confirmed that the incident is under investigation. Four Defense Department officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, also confirmed to the outlet that the Marine was participating in the Army's Basic Airborne Course, which is part of special operations training in the Marine Corps.

One seat on the council remains open.

Mexico, India, Ireland and Norway were elected to the United Nations Security Council on Wednesday, but the 193 UN member states must return on Thursday to continue voting to fill one more vacant seat after there was no clear winner.

Canada lost out to Ireland and Norway in a hotly contested election that included Ireland enlisting the help of U2 singer Bono and taking UN ambassadors to a U2 concert and Canada taking envoys to a Celine Dion concert.

Mexico and India were elected unopposed. Kenya and Djibouti were competing for the final seat, but there was no clear winner.

To ensure geographical representation, seats are allocated to regional groups. But even if candidates are running unopposed in their group, they still need to win the support of more than two thirds of the UN General Assembly.

The new members will start their two-year term on the 15-member council on Jan. 1.

After operating virtually since March amid the coronavirus pandemic, diplomats - wearing masks and social distancing - returned to the General Assembly hall on Wednesday to cast their secret ballots at allotted times.

They also elected - unopposed - Turkish diplomat Volkan Bozkir as the president of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly. He will take up the role later this year.

The Security Council is the only UN body that can make legally binding decisions like imposing sanctions and authorizing the use of force. It has five permanent veto-wielding members - the United States, Britain, France, China and Russia.

The Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone has made a lot of incoherent demands since they took over the city of Seattle, but their demand for “race-based’ healthcare might be the most laughable.

They don’t just want more blacks as doctors and nurses. They want those black doctors and nurses to only treat black people.

This is illegal in so many ways it’s hard to count.

Race-based health care, while having gained support, presents legal and practical challenges to implementation. Proponents say it’s one way to start closing disparities in health care, but it could take years and require changes to the education system to fill the shortage of black doctors, and CHAZ’s demand that black doctors be employed for the specific purposes of treating black patients isn’t quite legally sound.

“Isn’t quite legally sound”? Newsweek is being kind. It’s idiotic and people who advocate such nonsense need help.

If black people want a black doctor, that should be their choice. But we should gently point out that the human body is pretty much the same whether you’re white or black or some other color.

It’s true that blacks are susceptible to some diseases that whites aren’t. But anyone who paid attention in medical school knows this to be true and doesn’t need a handbook on exotic diseases to figure it out.

The question of medical outcomes relating to race is a question of quality of care, not skin color.

However, patients are within their legal right to choose their doctor and physicians and researchers support increasing opportunities for black patients to see black doctors. It’s not a new concept and data shows there’s merit to racial concordance between doctors and patients. Black people are more likely than white people to die at an early age from chronic conditions such as heart disease, stroke and diabetes, in part, because they aren’t being screened and treated, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Whether it’s because blacks feel more comfortable talking about their health with a black doctor is unclear. But there is apparently a correlation between the race of a doctor and better health outcomes.

A 2018 National Bureau of Economic Research random clinical trial in Oakland, California, found black patients who saw black doctors were more likely to pursue diabetes and cholesterol screenings than those who saw non-black doctors. Based on the Oakland study’s findings, researchers estimated black doctors could reduce the black-white gap in cardiovascular-related deaths by about 19 percent.

So do we force black patients to see black doctors? Do we prevent white patients from seeing black doctors? We need more doctors regardless of color but recruiting black medical students is already being done. There is a legal obligation of medical schools to diversify their student bodies — and they’re still having trouble filling positions.

Wanting to be a doctor demands an interest in science, as well as anatomy, chemistry, and other scientific disciplines. It’s not happening in our public schools now. STEM studies are out of favor. Until there is more interest by black students in wanting to be doctors, CHAZ will be very disappointed.

U.S.-led coalition warplanes had conducted a simulated attack run in the 55 km zone around al-Tanaf Garrison, the coalition’s Special Ops Joint Task Force announced on June 16.

In an official statement, the coalition said the simulated attack run was conducted by F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jets on June 13.

“Coalition air assets provide immediate threat response in support of our Syrian partners as they continue the disruption of Daesh terrorist cells,” the statement reads.

Photos of the simulated attack showed several F-15Es armed with air-to-air missiles and guided bombs flying over the 55 km zone.

The U.S.-led coalition and its proxy, the Revolutionary Commando Army, hold drills in the 55 km zone on a regular basis. On April 29, live drills were carried out in the region with the participation of the coalition’s M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS).

The coalition claims that these drills are aimed against ISIS remnants around al-Tanaf. Nevertheless, they appear to be designed to intimidate Damascus and its allies.

Pelosi to Hold Vote on Making Far Left Washington DC a State

As Tucker Carlson once said, every action by the Democrat Party is meant to give the party more power.

Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats will vote in Congress to make the District of Columbia a state.

This comes after a wave of looting and arson across the city.

Democrats want to reward the District of Columbia.

Of course, this would mean two new radical far left senators in the US Senate.

House Democrats announced Tuesday evening that they will hold a vote June 26 on making the District of Columbia the 51st state.

Over 200 Democrats have signed on to the legislation amid nationwide protests that have consumed Washington, D.C. over the past few weeks, pitting the district’s Democratic Mayor, Muriel Bowser, against President Donald Trump over the best response.

The response to protests in D.C. over the killing of George Floyd have led prominent Democrats to criticize the fact that the district has no voting representation in Congress and call for its residents to be granted the same representation as Americans who reside in the 50 states, The New York Times reported late Tuesday.

We are in the process of conducting this investigation. Although we have made significant progress in the case, we have not completed our work. Our goal in every officer involved shooting case we are requested to review, is to complete a thorough, impartial investigation before we submit the file to the respective District Attorney’s Office.

NBC News reporter Adele-Momoko Fraser claimed Tuesday that she did not “collaborate” with an activist organization — despite initially calling its efforts “collaboration” — on a story about Google banning the libertarian website ZeroHedge from its ad platform and threatening the conservative website The Federalist with the same fate unless it removed its comment section.

Fraser originally reported that both The Federalist and ZeroHedge were barred from Google’s ad platform after NBC News’ “Verification Unit” presented the technology giant with research from a left-wing group, the Center for Countering Digital Hate, which calls on digital advertisers to financially blacklist conservatives websites, including Breitbart News.

However, a Google spokesperson dispelled part of the report. “The Federalist is not currently demonetized. We do have strict publisher policies that govern the content ads can run on, which includes comments on the site. This is a longstanding policy,” said the spokesperson.

The Federalist has temporarily deleted its comment section to remain on Google’s ad platform.

In a Tuesday tweet publicizing her report, Fraser originally wrote: “NEW — from @NBC_VC. Thanks to @SFFakeNews [Stop Funding Fake News] and @CCDHate [Center for Countering Digital Hate] for their hard work and collaboration!”

Hours after the admission, Fraser claimed that she did “not collaborate on the research itself” and accused Google of misstating that The Federalist had been banned from its ad network.

The parsing of this denial — merely that NBC News did not assist with “research” on the targeted news sites — does not answer critics’ charges that Fraser herself may have intended to bring about their financial downfall. Sean Davis, a co-founder of The Federalist, told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson that, from his perspective, NBC “partnered with a foreign left-wing group in Europe to go after us and to use Google to go after us.”

Mollie Hemingway, Senior Editor at the Federalist, excoriated Fraser for her denial, satirically paraphrasing the social media post to allege it was merely damage control. “[W]hen I explicitly thanked these shady foreign groups for their ‘hard work and collaboration!’ in a conspiracy I led to silence and punish media organizations I personally oppose, I didn’t realize how poorly it would go for me and so now I’m trying and failing to walk it back,” Hemingway wrote to Fraser.

Publix Supermarkets has reportedly banned Black Lives Matter garb in the workplace. The company received backlash after a teenage employee in Florida said he was sent home for wearing the letters “BLM” written on his face mask.

According to the boy, a district manager has since contacted him to explain their position.

“He doesn’t know if they’re pro or con on the issue, (says) that I am endangering myself and everyone who works there,” stated Quinton Desamours. “There is an employee that has a comic strip on his mask, so it seems like they just didn’t like the message I was trying to portray.”

Publix defended its decision by saying the move was in line with current policy. According to a statement from the company, it rejects racism and believes diversity makes the company better.

However, current dress code guidelines reject any attire not associated with the chain’s brand.

Facebook Will Close Political Advertising ‘Loophole’ Before Election

Social media giant Facebook has reportedly closed what it considers to be a loophole in its political advertising system ahead of the 2020 U.S. presidential election. When Facebook users post an election ad to the platform, it will now include a “paid for by” label in the same manner as when a campaign pays for the ad to appear on the site.

Reuters reports that social media giant Facebook stated this week that it would attach labels to political ads shared by users detailing who paid for the ads in an attempt to show greater transparency on the platform.

Since 2018, political ads on the platform have had a “paid for by” label attached them, but this label disappeared when users shared the ads on their own newsfeed, which many believe undermined the purpose of the label and allowed “misinformation” to be spread.

Now, all political ads will retain the “paid for by” label regardless of where they’re shared. Sarah Schiff, a Facebook product manager overseeing the change commented: “Previously the thinking here was that these were organic posts, and so these posts did not necessarily need to contain information about ads

Schiff stated that the company considers it important to disclose if a post “was at one point an ad.” State news media outlets received a similar label earlier this month which disclosed the funding of the organizations, but that label also sometimes disappears when a post is shared by a user.

Facebook is now facing demands to do more to combat fake news before the U.S. presidential election on November 3. Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden called on Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg last week to reverse the firm’s decision to exempt political ads from fact-checking.

Zuckerberg stated in a recent USA Today op-ed that Facebook will display a Voting Information Center at the top of U.S. users’ news feeds. The firm will also be aiming to help 4 million people register to vote, doubling its goal for the 2016 election.

Amazon Studios has purchased the rights to an untitled documentary on voting rights which prominently features failed Georgia Democrat gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams.

Variety reports:

Following a theatrical run, the film will be released on Amazon Prime Video later this year. It’s directed by Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning filmmaker Liz Garbus and Lisa Cortés. Abrams is a producer along with Garbus, Cortés and Dan Cogan.

Abrams ran as the Democratic party’s nominee in the 2018 gubernatorial election in Georgia and was the first Black woman to be a major-party gubernatorial nominee in the United States. She narrowly lost to Republican Brian Kemp, who was accused by Abrams of voter suppression activities after he refused to resign as secretary of state while campaigning for governor.

“Raising the alarm about voter suppression is critical to the integrity of our democracy,” Abrams said in a statement. “The failure of state leaders in Georgia and other states across the country to protect the rights of voters, as seen in the 2018 election and 2020 primaries, must be exposed and it must be stopped. Justice in our criminal justice system and the sacred right to vote are not equal for all Americans and we must find a way to change these systematic inequalities. As the 2020 election approaches, this documentary will help voters realize the power of their voices, and it will inspire them to overcome the obstacles of voter suppression.”

Stacey Abrams lost the race for governor by roughly 55,000 votes and has since repeatedly blamed the result on “voter suppression” efforts allegedly from Kemp. Multiple high-profile Democrat candidates have even gone as far as to assert that Abrams should be leading the state today.

In the wake of her draft, Abrams launched a voter protection advocacy group in 20 states called Fair Fight 2020 and has advocated for vote-by-mail schemes for November’s presidential election.

“Vote by mail is the safest way to vote,” Abrams recently told MNSBC. “I would say almost every state has the capacity to vote by mail. The challenge is that in a lot of states you have to have an excuse. In fact, Governor Kay Ivey of Alabama, today or yesterday, said that she wasn’t in favor of removing the excuse. The reality is everyone has an excuse — COVID-19. We need to be certain that even if things have tampered down by then, we have to prepare for it not to be so. That means we have to start planning now for the November election.”

In addition to pushing vote-by-mail initiatives, Abrams has undertaken an unprecedented public lobbying campaign to be former Vice President Joe Biden’s running mate. However, the presumptive Democrat nominee’s campaign has yet to reach out to her for the vetting process, Abrams admitted to CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last Wednesday.

Bixler said she decided to come forward after talking about the alleged attack with her husband.

"As soon as I started to justify Danny's actions, he (her husband) looked at me, stunned, and said, 'This is rape and it's not OK,'" she said. "It was the first time someone had agreed with me."

After the taped interview aired, Bixler appeared in front of the studio audience to discuss the aftermath of reporting her alleged assault. She said the church's ethics officer assigned her a lengthy ethics programs to find out "what I did to deserve this." And it was compounded by Masterson's celebrity.

"My job as his girlfriend was to give myself to him whenever he wanted," Bixler said. "I cannot say 'no.' I lay there and take it."

"Because celebrity in Scientology in everything," Remini replied.

In an Aug. 13 letter quoted on "Scientology and the Aftermath," the Church of Scientology said, "Ms. Bixler never once told the Church about her accusations, and the Church never retaliated against her for making the claim."

"I’m not going to fight my ex-girlfriend in the media like she’s been baiting me to do for more than two years," Masterson said in a statement shared with USA TODAY last week. "I will beat her in court — and look forward to it because the public will finally be able learn the truth and see how I’ve been railroaded by this woman."

Also in the studio audience for "Scientology and the Aftermath" was Bobette Riales, another plaintiff in the lawsuit. She said she came forward after seeing the response Bixler received for speaking out against Masterson.

"I knew a lot of things were wrong in our relationship," she said. "Never once did it occur to me that he was doing this to other girls."

In a letter dated Aug. 12 that was quoted on the show, an attorney for Masterson wrote, "It would be extremely reckless to rely on Ms. Riales as a source. Ms. Riales, who dated Mr. Masterson for a period of time in the early 2000s, only recently took to Twitter to accuse Mr. Masterson – for the first time ever – of 'repeatedly rap(ing)' her during their relationship."

The two other plainiffs in the lawsuit were not interviewed because of their desire to remain anonymous.

Besides the focus on Masterson, the finale also talked with other ex-Scientology members about allegations that the church has thwarted attempts to report sexual assault and violence to authorities.

The series concluded with Remini and Rinder addressing the studio audience, which consisted of former church members.

"Victims of Scientology are not a bunch of weirdo crackpots, but are real people who came into Scientology either because they were children to begin with or they wanted to help," Rinder said. "Scientologists are generally good people who want to help other people and that's how they get trapped."

After the airing of the series finale Monday, the Church of Scientology said in a statement to USA TODAY, "For three years, A&E profited from broadcasting Leah Remini’s lies, distortions and exhortations to hate. These resulted in threats, violence, and the brutal murder of a Scientologist in Australia in January 2019. Prior to committing his heinous act, the murderer spouted vicious anti-religious propaganda, incited by A&E and the Leah Remini series."

The incident the church refers to is the Jan.3 fatal stabbing of a church member by a 16-year-old. The Sydney Morning Herald reported the boy was on church property because his mother was going through a “purification ceremony.”

"When we first started out the Aftermath series, we wanted to give a platform to those who wanted to tell you what's happened to them, their pain," Remini said in the finale.

She ended with this: "Rest assured, Scientology, that this is not the end, this is just the beginning."

Dirty Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard Is Under Investigation for Funneling $140,000 in Atlanta Funds to Supplement His Salary

Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr. announced charges on Wednesday afternoon in the death of Rayshard Brooks last weekend at a Wendy’s restaurant in Atlanta.

Brooks was killed by police after resisting arrest, wrestling with the police, punching one officer in the face, stealing the officer’s taser and then firing on the officers.

DA Howard, Jr. says officials spoke to three witnesses and reviewed eight videos of the attempted arrest and shooting.

And then he added this: Rayshard Brooks was never notified he was under arrest(?) Brooks.

DA Howard charged the officer who shot Brooks with felony murder and other charges.

But DA Paul Howard is not without scandal.

The Fulton County District Attorney is under investigation for funneling at least $140,000 in Atlanta funds to supplement his own salary.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reported in May:

The GBI has opened an investigation of Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard and his use of a nonprofit to funnel at least $140,000 in city of Atlanta funds to supplement his salary, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Channel 2 Action News have learned.

The criminal investigation comes at a time when Howard, Fulton’s DA since 1997, is being challenged in the Democratic primary for reelection and is facing allegations of sexual harassment, which he strongly denies.

In a statement issued Monday, Howard predicted he will be cleared of any wrongdoing.

“This is not the first time what would be considered as an administrative matter for other Georgia elected officials is turned over to the GBI for investigation when it involves the Fulton County district attorney,” he said. This was in reference to the agency’s 2014 investigation of Howard’s use of money forfeited by criminals to pay for galas and dinners for his staff and their families.

In that GBI probe, prompted by media reports, “I was totally exonerated,” Howard said. As for the ongoing investigation, he said, “(I)f the facts are followed, it is my expectation that the result will be exactly the same.”

Howard said the timing of this investigation, weeks away from the June 9 primary, “is not lost on me.”

Howard is also facing a state ethics complaint for not disclosing he was a chief executive of the nonprofit, People Partnering for Progress, in personal financial statements. On April 15, the Georgia Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission charged Howard with a dozen disclosure violations, most of them involving PPP.

Paul Howard is NO FAN of the police.

Death of Arizona Man from Chloroquine Ruled an Accident

Maricopa Country medical examiner says Gary Lenius's death was accidental

The death of an Arizona man who ingested a lethal dose of fish tank treatment in March has been ruled an accidental overdose by the county medical examiner’s office, according to a copy of the report obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

Gary Lenius, 68, passed away on March 22, after he and his wife drank a fish tank additive that contained the drug chloroquine. The story drew national attention after the man’s wife, Wanda Lenius, said she and her husband ingested the substance because President Trump had praised chloroquine as a promising treatment for coronavirus. She subsequently told the Free Beacon that she had added a teaspoon of non-medicinal chloroquine powder, which is used to treat parasites in fish tanks, into glasses of soda that she and her husband drank.

The Mesa Police Department’s homicide unit has been investigating Lenius’s death since March. Detective Teresa Van Galder, who is handling the case, said the investigation is ongoing, but she does not expect that her findings will differ from the medical examiner’s office.

"I am still waiting on some other things to return prior to the investigation being officially completed," Van Galder told the Free Beacon. "Unless I come across something I do not already have, I do not foresee the finding of the OME changing." The Free Beacon reported that homicide detectives were investigating Lenius's death after Val Galder requested a recording of the Free Beacon‘s interview with Wanda Lenius.

In the wake of Gary Lenius's death, friends told the Free Beacon that they found it difficult to imagine the retired mechanical engineer ingesting the toxic chemical of his own volition. They also described a rocky relationship between Lenius and his wife, who was charged with domestic domestic assault decades ago but found not guilty. The Free Beacon also reported that Wanda Lenius had been a donor to Democratic causes.

Dr. William T. Stano III, a pathologist at the Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner, found that Lenius died from "ingestion of a non-prescription chloroquine phosphate as prophylaxis against COVID-19 infection," according to his June 10, 2020 report. He listed the manner of death as "accident."

"Upon emergency personnel arrival to [the Lenius's] residence, the decedent had an altered level of consciousness and was subsequently transported to a local medical center where he was pronounced dead in the emergency department (ED) shortly after arrival," wrote Stano.

"Based on the autopsy findings and all other investigative information, including medical records, received to date and as available to me, it is my opinion that the decedent died of an acute drug toxicity involving chloroquine," wrote Stano. "It is further my opinion that the manner of death is accident."

"As with all death investigations, opinions expressed herein are amenable to change should new, reliable, and pertinent information come to light," the report continued.

Lenius’s toxicology tests showed he had 17,000 nanograms per milliliter of chloroquine in his blood at the time of his death, indicating that he had ingested around 20 times the typical treatment dose.

Time and again throughout the coronavirus pandemic you've heard it. As public health authorities and state and local elected officials blanketed the nation with restrictions on public mobility and assembly, work and worship, they waved aside doubts and objections with the assurance that they were simply following the “data and the science”; this as if data are always complete, reliable, transparent and unambiguous, and scientific opinion is always monolithic, settled, and immune to challenge.

In reality, “the data and the science” pertaining to the new coronavirus have been partial, often ambiguous, sometimes arbitrary and misleading, even fraudulent — and continually shifting. Mistakes, of course, were inevitable when trying to understand and contain an unfamiliar, complex and highly contagious new virus. But when recurring expert error is coupled with an expectation that the public should mutely maintain an unquestioning faith in the claims of “the data and the science” — as has often been the case during the pandemic — the result may be a severe erosion in the credibility of public health authorities. Here are 10 things the public health establishment got wrong:

1. Threat level: On Jan. 21, the day the first COVID-19 case in the U.S. was confirmed, National Institutes of Allergies and Infectious Diseases director Anthony Fauci appeared on conservative Newsmax TV and said: “Obviously, you need to take it seriously and do the kind of things the CDC and the Department of Homeland Security is doing. But this is not a major threat to the people of the United States, and this is not something that the citizens of the United States right now should be worried about.”

By April 1, CDC Director Robert Redfield would be saying, “This is the greatest public health crisis that has hit this nation in more than 100 years.”

2. Masks: “Seriously people — STOP BUYING MASKS!” So tweeted Surgeon General Jerome Adams on Feb. 29. “They are NOT effective in preventing [the] general public from catching #Coronavirus, but if healthcare providers can't get them to care for sick patients, it puts them and our communities at risk!” The CDC initially said, “If you are sick, you should wear a facemask when you are around other people (e.g., sharing a room or vehicle) and before you enter a healthcare provider's office." But "if you are NOT sick," it added, "you do not need to wear a facemask unless you are caring for someone who is sick (and they are not able to wear a facemask).” That link now leads to the declaration with a subheading in large letters: “Cover your mouth and nose with a cloth face cover when around others.”

3. Asymptomatic transmission: Dr. Maria Van Kerkhove, head of WHO’s emerging diseases and zoonosis unit, said at a June 8 news briefing, “From the data we have, it still seems to be rare that an asymptomatic person actually transmits onward to a secondary individual,” adding, “It’s very rare.” She explained the importance of this for policy purposes. “What we really want to be focused on is following the symptomatic cases,” Van Kerkhove said. “If we actually followed all of the symptomatic cases, isolated those cases, followed the contacts and quarantined those contacts, we would drastically reduce” the outbreak.

After a backlash that “sent shock waves throughout the world”, according to a CNBC report and sparked a “furious scientific debate,” according to The Washington Post, Kerhove executed a 180 within a day. “We don’t actually have that answer yet,” she said. “I wasn’t stating a policy of WHO or anything like that.”

4. Mortality rate: WHO’s initial mortality rate for COVID-19 was 3.4%, more than an order of magnitude higher than seasonal flu, which is usually pegged at about 0.1%. But recently the CDC put its “best guess” figure at 0.26%. That's still higher than the seasonal flu but far lower than the 0.67% death rate of the “Asian flu” of 1957-1958 (H2N2), which, according to the CDC, killed an estimated 223,000 Americans and 3 million worldwide adjusted to today’s populations. That pandemic led to no panic in the U.S., no suspensions of civil liberties, no worldwide recession.

This is an extremely important piece describing the competing factions of CIA and NSC in the early days after WWII, and how American Intelligence was split over loyalties to Roosevelt doctrine and Churchill doctrine.

It may be the biggest light-bulb moment for me since Q started, because it reveals the foundation of the [DS] as it manifests in US government, via Kissinger's ultimate control over policy. Gets into the founding of the CFR and the Trilateral commission, and explains why it is always the British who seem to be pulling the strings of our policies.

"NSC-68 would be drafted the same year, declaring that the U.S. was in the moral equivalent of war with the Soviet Union and called for a massive military buildup to be completed by 1954 dubbed the “year of maximum danger”, the year JIC-502 claimed the Soviets would achieve military superiority and be able to launch war against the U.S. This proposed military buildup would increase the defense budget from $10 billion to $40 billion from 1950-53.

During this same period another security doctrine was drafted, titled “NSC-75: A Report to the NSC by the Executive Secretary on British Military Commitments”. The report concluded that if the British Empire collapsed, and Britain could no longer carry out these deployments, in defending the “free world” against the Soviets, the U.S. would not be able to carry out its current foreign policy, including NSC-68.

It was thus concluded in the report that it would be more cost-effective to aid Britain in saving its Empire!

If you were ever wondering why the CIA was constantly found paired with British Intelligence, starting from its very inception, in a series of coups in countries they had no reason to be in, now you know why.

The U.S. had gone from an explicit mission to end imperialism worldwide under Roosevelt, to actively supporting and upholding British colonies and vassal states under Truman!

This was all done under the pretence of protecting the “free world” from the evil boogeymen Soviets, whom Churchill decided to be labelled such in his Iron Curtain Speech. And thus, the interests of the British Empire were safeguarded by an abiding American stooge, as long as the narrative that all Russians were villains was believed."

Forty-nine percent of U.S. voters don't trust public health officials understand how to defeat the coronavirus, according to a new Just the News Daily Poll with Scott Rasmussen. The poll found that 45% of American voters do trust that public health officials really understand the coronavirus and what policies are needed to overcome it.

"Voter confidence in public health officials is decidedly mixed – 45% express some confidence and 49% a lack of confidence," Rasmussen said. "But most of the responses are lukewarm. Only 13% are Very Confident and 18% Not at All Confident."

On Wednesday, Just the News reported about an erosion of public trust, including 10 things the public health establishment got wrong about coronavirus. Given how politicized every aspect of the pandemic has become, I expected to see a partisan gap."

Rasmussen noted, however, that there is a difference when it comes to Independent voters. Only 35% of these voters are even Somewhat Confident that the public health officials know what policies are needed to overcome the pandemic.

Just the News Daily Poll respondents were asked “How confident are you that public health officials really understand the coronavirus and what policies are needed to overcome it?" They replied as below:

13% Very Confident

32% Somewhat Confident

31% Not Very Confident

18% Not At All Confident

6% Not Sure

The national survey of 1,200 registered voters was conducted June 11-13, 2020 by Rasmussen, a polling veteran. Margin of sampling error: +/- 2.8% for full sample.

Atlanta DA Dean Howard Said Taser is a “Deadly Weapon” Just Two Weeks Ago – Today He Said Rayshard Brooks Shooting a Taser at Cops Was “Not a Threat”

Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr. announced charges on Wednesday afternoon in the death of Rayshard Brooks last weekend at a Wendy’s restaurant in Atlanta.

Brooks was killed by police after resisting arrest, wrestling with the police, punching one officer in the face, stealing the officer’s taser and then firing on the officers.

DA Howard, Jr. says officials spoke to three witnesses and reviewed eight videos of the attempted arrest and shooting.

Eleven charges were announced including felony murder by the officer involved in the shooting of Rayshard Brooks.

And then Paul Howard added this: Rayshard Brooks was never notified he was under arrest(?) and was “never a threat.” WTH?

Brooks resisted arrest, beat cops, stole a taser and fired it at police!

Just two weeks ago Paul Howard said tasers were deadly weapons when six police officers used them on violent protesters.

I did a deep dive on this guy today and my conclusion is that he is no "hero" for TRUMP, for self-defense, or for 2nd amendment rights. Yes, the mob was out to get him and yes, it appears that the guy who was shot pulled a knife, but this was only after the asshole Baca entered the crowd not once, but three times, and each time assaulting a female with escalating violence. Despite media reports, Baca was not part of the militia, so he was acting as a "lone" provocateur. Moreover, the first two times that he was ejected from the crowd, he called someone, as if he were getting instructions. Also after he shot the one guy, he plops down on the ground and immediately calls someone. When the police arrive, he tells them that his father is with BCSO sheriff's office, even though they make an official statement that his father retired in 2001! The Police report says that he was working as “a freelance process server and skip tracer,” which I would assume means that he has ties to the local justice system. Interestingly, the DOJ has just awarded a $1.4M grant to BCSO to combat violent crime under the federal program "Operation Relentless Pursuit" which includes an increase in federal agents to the seven cities along with a financial commitment of up to $71 million in federal grant funding to hire new officers, pay overtime and benefits, finance federally deputized task force officers, and provide mission-critical equipment and technology. BCSO says it will use the funding for advanced training for task force officers, to purchase equipment to reduce violent crime and to get both marked and unmarked surveillance vehicles."

Also, someone should dig on Scott Williams the guy who was shot. His friend of 10 years, Marsia Demarco, who was present for the shooting has ties to local MEDIA.

Atlanta, GA — The head of Atlanta’s police union confirmed Wednesday that officers from the Atlanta Police Department in Zones 3 and 6 walked off the job Wednesday afternoon.

Vince Champion, southeast regional director of the International Brotherhood of Police officers, said that police officers had stopped answering calls midshift, in response to charges against Officer Garrett Rolfe who is accused of murdering Rayshard Brooks in Atlanta.

“The union, we would never advocate this. We wouldn’t advocate a blue flu,” Champion said. “We don’t know the numbers. Apparently we’re learning that command staff are asking outlying counties for support and aren’t getting it.”

Decaturish has calls out to public affairs officers in Gwinnett, DeKalb and Cobb counties for confirmation. A message to the spokesperson for Atlanta Police was not immediately returned.

A spokesperson for APD called reports of a walkout “inaccurate.”

“Earlier suggestions that multiple officers from each zone had walked off the job were inaccurate,” the spokesperson said. “However, the department is experiencing a higher than usual number of call-outs with the incoming shift. We have enough resources to maintain operations and remain able to respond to incidents throughout the city.”

Zones 3 and 6 cover south Atlanta, where Rolfe killed Rayshard Brooks after a June 12 DUI arrest turned into an altercation. Rolfe fired three bullets at Brooks as he fled with a taser in hand. Video of the shooting suggests Brooks pointed the taser at officers as he fled.

A protest the next day descended into vandalism and the arson of the Wendy’s restaurant where the shooting occurred. Police and state fire officials have offered a reward for tips leading to the arrest and prosecution of the arsonists.

Champion accused Paul Howard, Fulton county’s district attorney, of lying about what is happening in a press conference earlier today when Howard suggested that officer Devin Brosnan had turned state’s evidence and is testifying.

“The attorney for the officer said that’s not true two minutes later, and said he’s not pleading guilty and not offering state’s evidence,” Champion said.

This is a developing story and will be updated when more information is received.

The SA — Sturmabteilung, meaning ‘assault division’ — also known as the Brownshirts or Storm Troopers, was a violent paramilitary group attached to the Nazi Party in pre-World War Two Germany.

The SA was instrumental in the Nazi’s rise to power and played a diminished role during the Second World War. The Brownshirts are infamous for their operation outside of the law and their violent intimidation of Germany’s leftists and Jewish population. It was the SA’s thuggish vigilantism, independence from the regular army, and anti-capitalist sentiments of its leader, Ernst Röhm, that were ultimately its undoing.

Hitler launches the SA

Hitler formed SA in Munich in 1921, drawing membership from violent anti-leftist and anti-democratic former soldiers in order to lend muscle to the young Nazi Party. Recognizable by their brown uniforms, similar to those of Mussolini’s Blackshirts, the SA functioned a'''s a ‘security’ force at Nazi rallies and meetings, using threats and outright violence to secure votes and overcome Hitler’s political enemies.

The Beer Hall Putsch

Ernst Röhm became the leader of the SA after taking part in the Beer Hall Putsch in 1923, a failed coup against the Weimar government in which Hitler lead 600 Brownshirts into a meeting between the Bavarian Prime Minister and 3,000 businessmen. Röhm had fought in the First World War, reaching the rank of captain, and later joined the Bavarian division of the Freikorps, a virulent right wing nationalist group active during the early years of the Weimar Republic.

The Freikorps, which officially came to an end in 1920, were responsible for the murder of prominent leftists like Rosa Luxemburg. Former members made up a large part of the initial ranks of the SA.

The growth of the Brownshirts'''

After the Beer Hall Putch, the SA took part in violent street clashes with communists. Its ranks swelled into the thousands during the 1920s and into the 1930s.

Though Röhm left the Nazi Party — and Germany — during the later half of the 1920s, he returned to lead the Brownshirts in 1931 and watched its numbers swell to 3 million within only 2 years. The SA’s violence against Jews and communists was unbridled, yet some of Ernst Röhm’s interpretations of Nazi ideology were literally socialistic and in opposition to Hitler’s, including supporting striking workers and attacking strike-breakers.

The Night of the Long Knives

In his bid to secure powerful support and rise to power, Hitler sided with big business instead of Röhm and his pro-working class supporters. On June 30, 1934 the Night of the Long Knives erupted in a bloody purge among the SA ranks, in which Röhm and all senior Brownshirts, either deemed too socialist or not loyal enough for the new Nazi Party, were arrested by the SS and eventually executed.

SA leadership was granted to Viktor Lutze, who had informed Hitler of Röhm’s seditious activities. Lutze headed the SA until his death in 1943.

The shrinking role of the SA

After the purge, the SA diminished both in size and importance, though it was still used for violent actions against Jews, notably Kristallnacht on the 9 – 10 November, 1938. After the events of Kristallnacht, the SS took over the position of the Brownshirts, who were then relegated to the role of a training school for the German military.

Mistrust of the SA by the SS prevented the Brownshirts from ever regaining a prominent role in the Nazi Party. The organisation was officially disbanded in 1945 when Germany fell to the Allied Powers.

G-7 calls on China to reconsider Hong Kong security law

BERLIN (AP) - The Group of Seven leading economies is calling on China to reconsider plans to impose a national security law in Hong Kong, according to a joint statement issued Wednesday.

The national security legislation is aimed at curbing secessionist activities that Beijing says fueled monthslong anti-government protests in the semi-autonomous Chinese territory.

In their statement, foreign ministers from the G-7 nations voiced "grave concern regarding China's decision to impose a national security law on Hong Kong," adding that it would breach the territory's Basic Law and Beijing's international commitments. "It would jeopardize the system which has allowed Hong Kong to flourish and made it a success over many years," they said. "Open debate, consultation with stakeholders, and respect for protected rights and freedoms in Hong Kong are essential."

The G-7 members are the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United Kingdom. "We are also extremely concerned that this action would curtail and threaten the fundamental rights and freedoms of all the population protected by the rule of law and the existence of an independent justice system," the foreign ministers said in their statement, which was also signed by the EU's top diplomat.

"We strongly urge the Government of China to reconsider this decision," the G-7 added.

Former National Security Adviser John Bolton Shares His Take on Putin-Trump Relations

John Bolton is expected to share his revelations from inside the White House in the upcoming book, "The Room Where It Happened", after having been picked by Trump to be his National Security Adviser.

As his tell-all book, that has caused a federal lawsuit, is about to come out, John Bolton gave an exclusive interview to ABC's Martha Raddatz that will be aired on Sunday. In a sneak peek, the former national security adviser - hand picked by Trump - shares his opinion on the relationship between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.

He said that he thinks Putin can "play him [Donald Trump] like a fiddle", going on to note that Russian president "sees that he is not faced with a serious adversary". Bolton also called Putin "smart" and "tough", outlining that Trump does not enjoy understanding international security issues, which puts America in "a very difficult position" against the Russian leader.

“Dealing with arms limitation treaties on strategic weapons, dealing in many, many other international security issues, are things far removed from his [Donald Trump's] life experience,” said Bolton.

In another ABC teaser, Bolton, when asked "Is the President lying?", answers "Yes, he is, and it's not the first time either". It is unclear from the video which lies the host is referring to.

Bolton's book "The Room Where It Happened" is set to be released next Tuesday and is a tell-all on POTUS' foreign policy decision-making, which apparently annoyed Trump, who expressed hopes that Bolton would have criminal problems if he goes on with the publication. Shortly after the president's statement, US Department of Justice filed a lawsuit to block the book from release, claiming that it contains "classified information", a claim that Bolton's representatives have disproved.

SOUTH FULTON, Ga. - Police in the City of South Fulton say they are investigating after a 6-year-old was shot and killed on Wednesday evening.

It happened around 6:50 p.m. in the 2600 block of Fox Hall Lane S. South Fulton police said officers responded to the scene to find a 6-year-old boy dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

The details surrounding the deadly shooting were not immediately known.

As of 10 p.m., police say no one was taken into custody.
