RUSH: — and the reopening plans across the country. It’s a… Look, I know you don’t want to get political in the midst of this national fight to defeat this thing.

RUSH: But for somebody like me, Mr. VP, you look at Florida with the job Governor DeSantis is doing. He’s just doing a phenomenal job. Governor Kemp is doing a great job. You go to some of these blue states where these governors seem to have a political desire to inflict pain on your administration rather than get their states reopened. I’m not asking you to comment on that, but how do you coordinate with this new guidance from the CDC to reopen when you have some states that aren’t interested in it?

THE VICE PRESIDENT: Well, look, we’re coordinating with all the governors. As you point out, when we were only 30 days into 45 days to slow the spread, the president said, “Look, we want states to be ready — just as soon as they can safely do it — to open up America again,” and that’s why a month ago we released those guidelines, the CDC guidelines that came out yesterday and we’ll continue to produce in the future.

We’re gonna give confidence to businesses and communities to begin to go back to work. But I have to tell you that part of what we want to do is make sure the American people know what’s going on. As I sit here today, even though we are dramatically increasing testing, Rush — because of the public-private partnership the president launched months ago — we just cleared 10 million tests that have been done in this country.

RUSH: Phenomenal. It’s phenomenal.

THE VICE PRESIDENT: Yeah, when the president tapped me to lead the Coronavirus Task Force, Rush, we had done 8,400 tests total because of the arcane, slow system at CDC and public labs. The president reinvented testing in America. We’ve now done 10 million tests. We’re averaging around the country about 300,000 tests a day, I’m told. And even though we’re increasing testing, the number of positive cases of coronavirus are still going down around the country —

RUSH: Yeah, I was just talking about that. That’s a great phenomenon that’s happening.

THE VICE PRESIDENT: It’s an incredible phenomenon, and it’s one that we’re determined to make sure the American people understand. We’re testing more, but it was about three weeks ago that we had about 40,000 cases in a single day. About ten days ago it was about 35,000. I don’t have my charts in front of me, but it’s been under 20,000 in recent days.

I mean, what the American people have done at great sacrifice — and make no mistake about it, this has been tough on families and businesses large and small and communities of faith, that the American people did it and are doing it. And because of that, even though we’re testing so much more, the actual cases are coming down, and, most importantly, fatalities continue to trend down around the country even while you have states across America that are opening up again.

And I think every American should be encouraged by that. We continue to listen to state and local authorities about the way to practice social distancing and act in a safe and responsible way, but the president knows it, I know it, you know it. America works when America is working. The American people want to get back to work, and they want to do that in a safe and responsible way. And it’s happening, Rush. It’s happening all across America as we speak.

Mayo Clinic Expects To Lose $900 Million In Revenue This Year

With the novel coronavirus placing a hold on elective procedures and procedures deemed “nonessential”, the nation’s leading care clinic says they’re bleeding millions of dollars. The Mayo Clinic, based in Minnesota operating hospitals across the country, says it expects to lose a total of $900 million in revenue this year, according to the New York Times.

The clinic has already furloughed workers and cut their pay, but it hasn’t been enough. According to the Times, Mayo made a net profit of $1 billion last year.

The report states: “The future offers little relief, at least until the pandemic subsides and the economy recovers. The Mayo Clinic will have to rely more heavily on low-income patients enrolled in the Medicaid program, as others will be hesitant to travel across the country, or the world, for care. ‘It’s uncontrollable,’ said Dennis Dahlen, the clinic’s chief financial officer.”

Defections in the House: Several Dems to vote 'no' on $3T coronavirus bill

Several Democrats are bucking their party and voting against Speaker Nancy Pelosi's $3 trillion coronavirus relief bill in the House on Friday.

Some moderate members in swing districts including Reps. Abigail Spanberger of Virginia, Joe Cunningham of South Carolina, Kendra Horn of Oklahoma and Cindy Axne of Iowa ripped the massive measure as a one-sided partisan bill that is going nowhere.

And there's resistance in the most liberal wing of the party, too, where some say the $3 trillion measure isn't big enough. Rep. Pramila Jayapal, a leader of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, said her "no" vote was "difficult" but the bill fell short on ensuring Americans continued to get paychecks and had access to health care.

At least one Republican, Rep. Peter King of New York, is bucking the GOP and supporting the legislation that will give nearly $1 trillion to state and local governments reeling from coronavirus budget holes.

“I can be as much a red state person as anyone. But now we're talking about survival. And this is no place for politics. There's a lot in the bill that I disagree with, but Mitch McConnell refuses to bring up aid to state and local governments. New York will absolutely collapse if that aid money is not there,” King told Fox News.

The Democratic Party defectors first appeared during a vote Friday morning when 14 Democrats voted against their party on a procedural resolution, including moderates, progressives and the liberal freshman squad: Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., and Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass.

Across U.S. Academic System, Documents Show

Group urges Trump admin to investigate Doha's funding of propaganda

Qatar is spending billions of dollars to infiltrate the American education system as part of a propaganda effort that legal advocates say violates federal statutes and warrants a full-scale investigation, according to a nonpublic memorandum sent from an investigative group to the State Department and obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

The Qatar Foundation (QF), a state-controlled entity tasked with promoting the country's interests, has spent at least $1.5 billion since 2012 to fund a range of educational initiatives at 28 universities across America, making it one of the education system's most prolific foreign funders, according to information obtained by the Lawfare Project, a U.S.-based legal group that has been petitioning American universities to turn over information about their financial relationships with Qatar.

Foreign funding of American universities has been a concern for some time, with countries such as Qatar, Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, and others injecting billions into their budgets. The Education Department found in late 2019 that several schools failed to report more than $1.3 billion in foreign funds. Qatar's emergence as one of the leading foreign funders has generated concerns about anti-Israel and anti-Semitic bias working its way into the classroom.

The Lawfare Project's investigation, which has been provided to the Trump administration, "reveals considerable Qatari infiltration in the American education system and the media," according to a copy of the investigative materials viewed by the Free Beacon. "This infiltration, funded and organized through QF and [Qatar Foundation International], has turned American universities and primary and secondary school teachers into de facto agents of the Qatari government, conveying its political (and anti-Semitic) views to students and the general population without any acknowledgment of the origins of these views."

Major universities have declined to provide the Lawfare Project with detailed information about their financial relationships with Qatar, leading the group to call for a Trump administration investigation into these schools—including at the University of North Carolina and Duke University, which have both been at the forefront of controversy over foreign funding. The Lawfare Project maintains Qatar is violating the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), which requires people and entities acting "as an agent of a foreign principal" to register with the American government and disclose foreign influence in the domestic political process. Legal experts with the group also maintain the schools should be subject to FARA disclosure.

Israeli deliberations about annexing parts of the West Bank should be part of discussions between Israel and the Palestinians on the Trump administration’s peace plan, the US State Department’s chief spokesperson said Friday.

The comments by Morgan Ortagus, made during a phone briefing with Israeli reporters, came after US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo made a lightning trip to Jerusalem Wednesday for talks with Israeli leaders on a number of issues.

Pompeo did not specifically address questions during the trip about whether the US would support Israel unilaterally advancing annexation after July 1, as the coalition agreement between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Blue and White chairman Benny Gantz allows the new government to do, but said Jerusalem has “the right and the obligation” to decide if and when it wants to annex.

Director of National Intelligence Announces Changes to Election Security Briefings

WASHINGTON, D.C. –Today, the ODNI announced that the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC) will lead all intelligence-based threat briefings to candidates, campaigns, and political organizations under the U.S. Government’s notification framework. Bill Evanina, the Director of the National Counterintelligence and Security Center, will serve as the IC’s leader to this critical effort.

“US elections are the foundation of our nation’s democracy. We are committed to supporting this Administration’s whole-of-government effort to secure the 2020 election,” said Evanina.

This change represents an important improvement and simplification to the threat notification process. The IC will continue to work in partnership with FBI and DHS to identify and integrate threat information, and Evanina and the elections team will act swiftly to deliver the timely and thorough assessments to those affected by potential malicious influence.

President Trump Says Production Will Begin Even Before Final Approvals

14 coronavirus vaccine candidates are being evaluated

130 therapies are in trials with 450 others in the planning stages

Half the country has lifted stay-at-home orders

President Trump said Friday the possible candidates for a coronavirus vaccine have been narrowed to 14 and manufacture will begin before final Food and Drug Administration approvals are given. Trump said he's hoping a viable vaccine will be available before the end of the year.

In addition to vaccine development, some 130 therapies for COVID-19 are undergoing trials, with 450 others in the planning stages.

By early afternoon Friday, the virus had killed more than 86,200 Americans.

"When a vaccine is ready the U.S. government will deploy every soldier and plane available to deploy it," Trump pledged in an announcement in the Rose Garden.

Trump characterized the $10 billion search for a coronavirus vaccine as the "most aggressive in history" and likened it to the Mahnattan Project, which saw the development of the atomic bomb during World War II.

"Tremendous strides are being made," Trump said.

Trump hailed Americans for continuing to take precautions against the pandemic, adding that whether or not a vaccine is developed, America has to get back to work.

"Vaccine or no vaccine, we're back. We're starting the process," he said.

Trump noted the U.S. now is conducting 350,000 coronavirus tests a day.

The announcement came as states began easing stay-at-home orders with half the country already open for business.

Economic experts have warned Americans likely won't feel comfortable returning to business as usual until effective treatments and a vaccine against COVID-19 are developed, with medical experts warning reopening the economy too rapidly will lead to a spike in cases and deaths.

Infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci said earlier this week it was unlikely a vaccine would be available in time for schools to start in the fall while Dr. Richard Bright, former head of the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority, said Thursday even if a vaccine were available, the U.S. is ill-equipped to distribute it.

Trump told Fox Business Thursday he is prepared to use the military to distribute the vaccine once it is available.

"You know, it's a massive job to give this vaccine. Our military is now being mobilized so at the end of the year we're going to be able to give it to a lot of people very, very rapidly," Trump said.

Studies are showing Ivermectin is effectively curing COVID-19, even with just a single dose! Obviously humans have to be very careful scaling the dose from a 1250lb horse to a 170lb human, the usual human dose is about 18milligrams, or 1 gram of 1.87% horsepaste, or 170/1250 of the dose which is intended for the 1250lb horse. But how can any mathematical risk compare with having to face the disease alone, with no effective antiviral and with Doctors not wanting you anywhere near their surgery or staff? Although the FDA is aware of studies using the drug, it is not telling the public that Ivermectin is an apparently effective anti-COVID drug which has been approved by at least one other country (Peru) for use in COVID-19 therapy as an equivalent to HCQ. Ivermectin has been approved for use in humans for decades, being distributed for free by Merck in African and South American countries to fight parasitic diseases. In the USA Ivermectin is sold as "Stromectol" and we give it to kids for the hair-mites they get in their hair at school. The same dose is effective in COVID (150-200 micrograms/kilogram).

Prestigious medical journal calls for electoral defeat of Trump

One of the oldest medical journals in the world said that President Trump must lose reelection if the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is to regain its effectiveness. "Americans must put a president in the White House come January, 2021, who will understand that public health should not be guided by partisan politics," states an unsigned editorial in the Lancet, a British medical journal. "A strong CDC is needed to respond to public health threats, both domestic and international, and to help prevent the next inevitable pandemic."

The editorial accuses Trump of "marginalising and hobbling" the CDC. "The Trump administration's further erosion of the CDC will harm global cooperation in science and public health, as it is trying to do by defunding WHO." It further states that the CDC was once the "pillar of public health and globally respected ... [but] funding to the CDC for a long time has been subject to conservative politics that have increasingly eroded the agency's ability." It blames not only cuts by the Trump administration, but also by the administrations of Presidents Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush. This is not the first time that the Lancet has courted controversy or waded into politics. In 1998 it published a paper that suggested a link between the measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine and autism. The paper was retracted in 2010 after heavy criticism. During the 2014 Israel–Gaza conflict, the Lancet ran an "Open letter for the people of Gaza," signed by over two dozen doctors and scientists, "denouncing ... the aggression of Gaza by Israel." The letter made no mention of aggression by Hamas.

Americans with tax issues aren't getting their coronavirus stimulus checks. They suspect the IRS is delaying payment

WASHINGTON – Kimberly Dyer was counting on her $1,700 stimulus check to help pay her bills after her work hours were reduced and her salary was cut in half because of the coronavirus pandemic.

But the check hasn’t arrived, even though the Internal Revenue Service’s “Get My Payment” tracking app says she’s eligible.

Neither has the $5,129 tax refund she is owed. The IRS has notified her that her 2019 tax returns are under review.

Dyer, a single mother and a social worker, suspects the two missing checks are connected. Hundreds of members of a Facebook group she created for people who haven’t gotten their stimulus check soon realized they had something else in common. They, too, have tax returns that are under audit or review.

“That’s what made us realize this is why we haven’t gotten our stimulus check yet,” said Dyer of Spring Hill, Tenn.

More than 130 million people have received stimulus checks totaling more than $200 billion since the government started distributing the payments under the CARES Act, a new federal law designed to reinvigorate the economy amid the coronavirus pandemic, the IRS said last week. More than 150 million payments will eventually be sent out, the agency said.

People who are eligible for a stimulus check are supposed to receive the money even if they owe back taxes. The IRS says on its website that stimulus payments won’t be reduced or offset because the recipient owes federal or state debts, except in cases involving past-due child support. The website doesn’t say, however, whether stimulus checks will be delayed until issues with a recipient’s taxes have been resolved.

The Treasury Department, which is overseeing the distribution of the checks, did not respond to multiple requests for comment on whether the IRS is delaying some checks because of unresolved issues with a recipient’s past tax returns.

While there have been numerous reports of glitches preventing some recipients from receiving a stimulus check, tax experts said they have not heard of checks being delayed because of an issue with a recipient’s past tax returns.

TOKYO (Kyodo) - Japan's most powerful business lobby on Thursday called on member companies to introduce a four-day workweek and seek flexible ways to hold upcoming shareholders' meetings as part of guidelines on how to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.

The Japan Business Federation, known as Keidanren, and about 80 other industrial groups compiled guidelines for reducing the risk of virus infection in the workplace, as the government the same day lifted a state of emergency for 39 of the country's 47 prefectures, a move that will restart economic activity. Major business regions such as Tokyo and Osaka, however, will remain under the state of emergency.

The federation recommended the introduction of a four-day workweek and the promotion of teleworking as well as flexible business hours and working shifts as ways to ease congestion on public transportation.

The business lobby also urged companies to consider ways to hold shareholders' meetings without them gathering, such as by allowing them to exercise voting rights beforehand. Many Japanese companies hold shareholders' meetings in late June.

Companies were also advised to suspend nonessential business trips and conduct meetings and interviews or seminars with job seekers online.

"The partial lifting of the state of emergency is a big first step toward normalization of public lives and the resumption of economic activities," Hiroaki Nakanishi, chairman of the Japan Business Federation, said in a statement. "But there is still a need for the thorough implementation of infection prevention measures."

Hitachi Ltd. said its employees have been asked to work from home until now but they will start working at the office a day or two a week. Toshiba Corp. will seek to introduce a four-day workweek for plant workers.

Shiseido Co. said it will resume over-the-counter sales at department stores and other commercial facilities.

Major department store operators and restaurant chains have decided to resume operations or extend opening hours at some outlets after closure requests have been lifted.

Millions Starving Due to Rothschild's Scamdemic

The poor in Uganda have been hit hard by the lockdown due to Covid19 scamdemic. The Uganda government has tried to distribute some food aid but still millions of Ugandans are starving. They have not received any aid.

The world is undergoing panic and fear due to a Coronavirus hoax designed to enslave humanity.

In my home country, Uganda, very many people have been greatly affected due to the lockdown whereby it is very difficult for them to meet their daily basic needs including food and other life essentials.

The move to Uganda lockdown came after its first confirmed case of Coronavirus on March 22nd. Since then, up to now (May 15th) my homeland has been under lockdown.

Here, there are lots of sufferings among the local people as most of them live in poverty lacking means to fully sustain themselves.

According to the revised Version of the Uganda National Household Survey (UNHS) report issued on Feb.19th 2017, it is estimated that 21.4% of Ugandans live in poverty. That is 8 Million Ugandans living in poverty.

While the Sept 2017 report indicated that 27.7% of Ugandans live in poverty. That is 10 Million Ugandans living in poverty. The biggest share of Uganda's population is rural based with 76% and as such estimated to account for 89% of the poverty rate in Uganda. Therefore, poverty is at a very higher rate n rural areas than in urban areas.

Also according to the National Food Security Assessment in Jan 2017, 10.9 Million Ugandans were experiencing an acute food insecurity situation of which 1.6 Million Ugandans are in a crisis situation (unable to meet basic dietary needs).

My homeland, Uganda is one of the world's most impoverished and least developed countries. Many Ugandans live in inadequate and over crowded dwellings in slums mostly without clean water, proper sanitation or electricity.

In Above the Law, provided in advance of its release, Whitaker described a department that was more political under Obama than any department since President Richard Nixon’s, one that sought to promote the efforts of partisans such as FBI chief James Comey, who has since been fired by Trump. “What Holder is advocating for,” he wrote, “is a government full of Jim Comeys: government officials determining on their own what the Constitution demands, deciding which laws to prosecute and which to ignore, selectively releasing information to the media about Americans under investigation, and held accountable neither to the chief executive nor to voters.” And as Obama’s “wingman” at the department, added Whitaker, Holder built a team that would remain after he left and that would eventually shut down a probe into Hillary Clinton’s email scandal at the State Department and eagerly build up an investigation into alleged Russian collusion with the Trump campaign in the 2016 election. “There’s no doubt that Russia tried to influence the 2016 presidential election,” he wrote in the book from Regnery Publishing. “But the political meddling within our own government, within the Justice Department, and within the intelligence community poses a far greater threat to Americans than any Russian internet troll farm. Without the rule of law, without respect for the Constitution, without honest administration in the Justice Department, we don’t have a republic,” he added.

The book is an indictment by a true insider of the “deep state” of liberal bureaucrats trying to protect their own and ignore Trump’s election. It also highlighted the double standard of Obama-era officials, especially on recusals from cases they had an interest in. One that jumped out was of the case and conviction of former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn. The book noted that the judge who accepted Flynn’s guilty plea of lying to the FBI was a friend and neighbor of discredited FBI official Peter Strzok, who texted with his FBI lover about hoping Trump did not become president. Strzok did not recuse himself, and Judge Rudolph Contreras did only later. In several passages, Whitaker wrote about how Holder and his successors refused to investigate Obama-era scandals, such as the IRS's targeting of conservatives and a case against the New Black Panther Party, and he recalled how Holder successor Loretta Lynch met with former President Bill Clinton before ending the department’s probe of the Hillary Clinton emails. “As longtime professional staff of the Justice Department privately acknowledged to me, the arrogance characteristic of the Obama administration, personified by his first attorney general, Eric Holder, created an above-the-law culture inside the Justice Department,” wrote Whitaker.
