The Making of A Pandemic

Remember the Swine Flu scare of 1976, when the U.S. government warned the country that Swine Flu, transmitted from pigs to people, could be a pandemic killer? Washington decided that everyone should take the vaccine to prevent a nationwide outbreak. Soon after, four thousand people out of forty-six million sued the government for $3.5 billion resulting from negative health effects from the vaccine. If hindsight is 20/20, then such a fraud could not possibly happen again, could it?

The Hegelian Dialectic

People have short attention spans. Since the Swine Flu (H1N1) fiasco of 1976, the media has created several opportunities to raise the level of fear against invisible viruses. From SARS to H5N1 (Bird flu), experts claim these viruses could possibly be transmitted from animals to humans, including pigs, poultry, snakes and bats (coronavirus), but they do not know for sure. Allegedly, these “severe acute respiratory syndromes” can only be controlled by vaccines.

At the same time, vaccine mandates have been beta-tested on several populations, including healthcare workers, the elderly, and children who attend public school in California and NYC, with little resistance. Has the fear of pandemics been a distraction from mandates, the removal of rights, and the end of a free society?

By connecting the pandemic dots, it becomes easy to see the Hegelian Dialectic of “Problem-Reaction-Solution” playing out, by design and by disclosure, but not by coincidence. That is; as long as people buy into the propaganda and allow it to transpire.

On January 24th, 2020: the first scare of the Wuhan Coronavirus, a SARS-like virus, was reported out of Wuhan, China. The first cases were declared in China, the day before The Year of the Rat. Rats are known for spreading viruses. All mainstream news media were reporting 26 people had been confirmed dead from the virus.

On Jan 25th 2020: China confirmed 38 cases of the coronavirus, worldwide, outside of mainland China, on the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Rat, and Lunar New Year.

Timeline: Building the Story

In July 2015, a U.S. patent for “an attenuated coronavirus” (SARS-CoV) was filed, and subsequently granted in November 2018 to the CDC. According to a summary of this patent, this attenuated coronavirus was designed to be used as a vaccine…

The present invention provides a live, attenuated coronavirus comprising a variant replicase gene encoding polyproteins comprising a mutation in one or more of non-structural protein(s) (nsp)-10, nsp-14, nsp-15 or nsp-16. The coronavirus may be used as a vaccine for treating and/or preventing a disease, such as infectious bronchitis, in a subject.

February, 2017: China’s very first biosafety-level-4 lab is located just 20 miles away from where this outbreak supposedly originated. The Wuhan lab cost 300 million yuan (US$44 million). An article published in the Journal Nature reported that this lab would be “studying the pathogen that causes SARS”. Scare tactics do one thing well; they distract us from something more insidious. In our time, the making of a killer pandemic is a distraction as freedoms are lost. Fox stonewalls pro-life group from running ‘abortion survivors’ ad on Super Bowl Sunday

The pro-life group claims the network gave them the ‘runaround’ for six months.

January 28, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) – The pro-life group that created the powerful abortion survivor TV ad played at the March for Life last week is calling out Fox Sports Network for stonewalling them and refusing to approve their ad to run in a slot on Super Bowl Sunday this coming weekend.

Faces of Choice, a new non-profit whose ad featuring 14 survivors of abortion was shown at the March for Life, say they have been “given the runaround” by the network for six months.

The ad, which features the faces and stories of abortion survivors, is designed to raise awareness of the survivors of abortion who all univocally make it clear that they are persons and not a "choice." Faces of Choice applied to run a 30-second version of the ad. The ad doesn’t mention abortion. Faces of Choice says it has been carefully produced so that it is appropriate for the Super Bowl audience.

Lyric Gillett, founder of Faces of Choice, told LifeSiteNews she has invested thousands of dollars and hundreds of working hours after the network approved her storyboard for the advert months ago.

Gillett told LifeSite that the application was originally made in July, but that over the following months, members of the Fox legal department made a series of further inquiries without ever approving the application. Gillett said that they had answered every question the legal team asked and provided all necessary documentation.

“We were one of the very first people to submit anything to them. We met every single stipulation that they asked for and every time we met the line they moved the line further to request something else,” Gillett told LifeSite.

Gillett says that she was initially advised that they would be informed if the application was successful in October 2019. But no answer was given. “We were told over and over again ‘you’re going to get an answer’, but we never got anything,” she said.

Trump Admin Says Israel Has Accepted Plan for Palestinian State

Israeli leaders have agreed to a framework for a Palestinian state that would see the new country more than double in size with its capital located in Eastern Jerusalem, according to information provided by the White House.

The Trump administration unveiled on Tuesday its long-anticipated plan to achieve peace between Israel and the Palestinians. The plan, which White House officials say has already been agreed to by Israel, would see the Jewish state freezing for four years all construction in contested territories that could be used to form a new Palestinian state.

Under Trump's plan, a Palestinian state "will more than double the size of the land currently used by the Palestinians" and include areas in Eastern Jerusalem. Jerusalem will remain Israel's capital city and under its control, according to the White House.

"Israel has now agreed to terms for a future Palestinian State," the White House announced in informational materials outlining the peace framework. "Israel has agreed to a four-year land freeze to secure the possibility of a two-state solution."

"President Trump secured agreement from both Prime Minister Netanyahu and opposition leader Lieutenant General Benny Gantz to come to Washington, where they agreed to use this Vision as a basis for negotiation," the White House wrote in the latest materials outlining the new plan. "For the first time in this conflict, President Trump has reached an understanding with Israel regarding a map setting forth borders for a two-state solution."

Under the plan, which has already been dubbed dead on arrival by leading Palestinian factions, "Jerusalem will stay united and remain the capital of Israel, while the capital of the State of Palestine will be Al-Quds and include areas of East Jerusalem."

"Beyond territory, the Vision provides for Palestinian use and management of facilities at the Haifa and Ashdod ports, Palestinian development of a resort area on the north shore of the Dead Sea, and continued Palestinian agricultural activity in the Jordan Valley," the White House materials continue.

The plan envisions a scenario where "neither Palestinians nor Israelis will be uprooted from their homes," though it remains unclear how this goal will be achieved on the ground.

The White House emphasized portions of the plan that focus on protecting Israeli security interests. To this end, unlike past proposals, the plan "does not ask Israel to take additional security risks and enables Israel to defend itself by itself against any threats."

U.S. ambassador to Israel David Friedman told reporters the plan marks "a huge advancement in the peace process."

Coronavirus Virus- Is Motive Profit or Depopulation (or both)?

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation co-hosted a pandemic exercise in late 2019 that simulated a global coronavirus outbreak.

They also just happen to fund the group who owns the patent to the deadly virus and are working on a vaccine to solve the crisis.

On June 19, 2015, the UK government-funded Pirbright Institute filed an application for a patent for the live coronavirus, which was approved on Nov 20, 2018.

Suspiciously, a Pirbright Institute "primary funder" is the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Specifically, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation donated $189,232 to the Pirbright Institute in a 2013 grant looking "to improve our understanding of, and effective use of, current control tools and measures (including vaccines) against peste des petits ruminants and foot and mouth disease, two serious diseases affecting livestock that are widespread in developing countries."

Then, in November of 2019, the Pirbright Institute's website published an article focusing on the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's funding of "a Livestock Antibody Hub" to the sum of $5.5 million.

Outbreak Emanates From Chinese City With Controversial Lab

The deadly virus, called the Wuhan coronavirus based on the Chinese city it emanated from, comes just years after a controversial lab was opened in Wuhan to work with the world's most dangerous pathogens.

As of January 15, the virus made its way to America with a man carrying the illness from Wuhan, China to Washington state.

Now, a report out of Texas on Thursday claims officials at the Brazos County Health District are investigating a suspected case of the coronavirus.

At the time of writing this article, the death total has reached 25 and the estimated number of people infected with coronavirus in Wuhan is around 4,000.

Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Look To Develop Coronavirus Vaccine

But don't worry, the same globalists who own the patent to the virus and predicted its rise are "scrambling to develop vaccines for the deadly Wuhan coronavirus."

According to Business Insider, "A coalition backed by Bill Gates is funding biotechs" who are attempting to develop a coronavirus vaccine.

Is this illness being intentionally spread so governments worldwide can join forces in the name of stopping the virus, or so groups like the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation can step in and become saviors, or is it all just a massive coincidence?

Unpacking Laura Ingraham’s bombshell report on Eric Ciaramella, the Bidens, and Ken Vogel

A secret meeting at the White House. A NY Times story that never ran. A concern about Hunter Biden and Burisma. At the heart of it all is the alleged whistleblower, Eric Ciaramella.

There’s blowback that comes from invoking the name of the alleged Ukrainian whistleblower, Eric Ciaramella. Doing so will get you silenced by YouTube, banned by Facebook, fired from Fox News, or scolded by Adam Schiff. At NOQ Report, we believe the truth is the truth. Hiding it only diminishes discourse; in today’s contentious political atmosphere, discourse is the last thing that needs to be diminished.

Fox News host Laura Ingraham delivered a blockbuster segment that brought old conspiracy theories into the realm of verified facts surrounding the Obama White House, Hunter Biden, Burisma, Ukrainian officials, and a suppressed NY Times story. And at the center of it all is Ciaramella who is quickly proving to be much more than a guy who (allegedly) blew the whistle about Ukraine. It would seem he’s been involved since well before President Trump ever spoke to Ukrainian President Zelensky, which lends credence to my speculation that his complaint is as much (or more) about protecting himself as it is about protecting Joe Biden and taking down President Trump. Here’s the report by Ingraham followed by analysis:

Ingraham, like all Fox News employees, is forbidden from even saying Eric Ciaramella’s name. Her segment was still easy to follow, but here’s a breakdown with commentary about what was revealed, and we’ll even insert the appropriate name.

A White House meeting that Ciaramella may have had a hand in setting up on January 19, 2016, included Ukrainian prosecutors. They wanted to move forward with investigations into Burisma, the energy company that had Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, on their board. According to White House logs, Ciaramella signed in several who likely attended the meeting, including Jeffrey Cole, Anna Iemelianova, Nazar Kholodnitsky, Catherine Newcombe, Svitlana Pardus, David Sakvarelidze, Artem Sytnyk, Andriy Telizhenko, and Andris Razans.

NY Times reporter Ken Vogel, who has long-said there is more to the Burisma-Biden story than we’re being told, inquired with the Department of Justice regarding the meeting.

In the email, Vogel wrote, “We are going to report that [State Department official] Elizabeth Zentos attended a meeting at the White House on 1/19/2016 with Ukrainian prosecutors and embassy officials as well as … Eric Ciaramella from the NSC … the subjects discussed included efforts within the United State government to support prosecutions, in Ukraine and the United Kingdom, of Burisma Holdings, … and concerns that Hunter Biden’s position with the company could complicate such efforts.”

But the story never ran. Whatever Vogel had discovered, it either turned out to be nothing (unlikely since he started the email by stating, “We are going to report that…”) or it was quashed by the editors. The email was sent a week after Joe Biden had announced he was running for president. Vogel has not answered our request for comment thus far.

Democrats in the impeachment hearing are currently arguing that the reason former Ukraine Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin was fired under pressure from then-VP Joe Biden is because he was not investigating Burisma and was therefore corrupt. But their argument is disingenuous as subsequent people who filled his role also declined to investigate Burisma. When we consider Ingraham’s report into the equation, two things become clear: The Democrats’ Burisma narrative is failing and Eric Ciaramella was deeply involved outside of being the whistleblower.

Whether Ciaramella is the whistleblower or not

(he is),

this new information makes it crystal clear that he needs to testify about the Ukraine coverup, whether as a fact-witness for the impeachment trial or by a Senate committee.

After the defense team concluded its argument Tuesday, Senate Republicans huddled in a senators-only meeting to discuss witnesses and the path forward. McConnell and several Republicans warned that moving ahead with one witness could lead to a number of new witnesses — and there would be no clear path out of the trial, according to a source familiar with the remarks.

A source in the room said McConnell made clear to senators that Republicans don't currently have the votes to block witnesses, but underscored that it is still a work in progress as several GOP senators remain noncommittal on their votes. A Senate GOP source said leadership came away from the meeting more confident they would be able defeat the witness vote.

"We're in a better place than we were, no question," said one Republican senator in the room.

The situation in the Senate Republican conference remains fluid. Two Republican senators, Mitt Romney of Utah and Susan Collins of Maine, have signaled they want to hear from witnesses, including Bolton. Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska says she is "curious" about Bolton's testimony.

But there's no sign of a fourth GOP senator expressing support for witnesses at this point, though several Republicans remain on the fence.

"I think the facts are all out there," said Senate Majority Whip John Thune of South Dakota. "I don't think that anything that he's going to say changes the facts ... I think people kind of know what the fact pattern is."

GOP congressman asked former Ukraine minister about Eric Ciaramella, CIA officer alleged to be whistleblower

A conservative Republican in Congress raised the name of the CIA officer accused of being the Ukraine whistleblower during a congressional hearing about Puerto Rico last month.

Rep. Louie Gohmert of Texas asked Natalie Jaresko, Ukraine’s former finance minister, who is now executive director of the Financial Oversight and Management Board for Puerto Rico, whether she had any involvement with National Security Council officials in her previous post. He cited an April 2016 meeting at a Le Pain Quotidien restaurant close to the White House between Eric Ciaramella, another White House official, and Ukrainian parliamentarian Olga Bielkova.

A Foreign Agents Registration Act filing shows that the meeting was arranged by Doug Schoen, a longtime Hillary Clinton ally and registered foreign lobbyist for Ukrainian billionaire Victor Pinchuk. The same day, Schoen arranged for Bielkova to meet with David Kramer, who flew to Britain in 2016 to meet former MI6 spy Christopher Steele, author of a dossier containing incendiary allegations about President Trump.

Jaresko was testifying before the House Natural Resources Committee on Oct. 22 about Puerto Rico’s debt. An American-born Ukrainian investment banker, she was Ukraine's minister of finance between 2014 and 2016.

Last week, attorneys for the whistleblower who submitted a complaint about Trump's July 25 call with Ukraine's president, prompting the impeachment process to begin, declined to confirm or deny that their client was Ciaramella, 33, a career CIA analyst. After it was reported that Ciaramella was the whistleblower, attorneys Mark Zaid and Andrew Bakaj told the Washington Examiner in a statement: "We neither confirm nor deny the identity of the Intelligence Community Whistleblower."

During the October hearing, Gohmert asked Jaresko: “I'm curious, in your position there in Ukraine — were you aware of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko dispatching Olga Bielkova or any other Ukrainian official to the U.S. in order to conduct an influence campaign on the 2016 election here in the United States?”

Jaresko replied she had no “knowledge of that” after she attempted to explain she was only at the hearing to testify about the Puerto Rico board. But Gohmert said her “credibility is an issue” and asked again if she had knowledge of Poroshenko sending Bielkova to the U.S. and how that trip was funded. She responded she did not have answers to either question, noting the trip did not occur when she was minister of finance. “Well, you were there," Gohmert said.

Chairman Raul Grijalva interjected, accusing Gohmert of pursuing conspiracy theories and straying from the subject of the hearing, the Puerto Rico board. Gohmert shot back at the Arizona Democrat, “My clock is still running as the chairman is eating up my time, lecturing me, and trying to cover up this matter,” he said.

The Texas Republican continued: “Well, let me ask you, Ms. Jaresko, are you aware of Ukrainian parliamentarian Bielkova April 12, meetings with Liz Zentos and Eric Ciaramella of the Obama and National Security Council?”

Jaresko said she was not aware of any meetings between them. According to Jaresko, she became the executive director of the Financial Oversight and Management Board of Puerto Rico by being recruited by the members of the board “based on her experience as minister of finance in both the fiscal area and the debt restructuring that I did in Ukraine.”

The day she became finance minister, she was granted Ukrainian citizenship and lived in Ukraine from her initial posting in the U.S. State Department as the economics officer in 1992 until she left and took her current post in 2017.

Gohmert told the Washington Examiner, “Specifically, I asked about an April 12, 2016, meeting between Ukrainian parliamentarian Olga Bielkova and Liz Zentos and Eric Ciaramella of the National Security Council, in which energy issues were discussed. I thought it was prudent to ask Ms. Jaresko on the record and under oath about this meeting, since the time frame and subject align with the concerning reports of Joe Biden and Hunter Biden’s dealings in Ukraine.”

The congressman added: “She said she had no knowledge of this meeting. Ms. Jaresko has previously said of Joe Biden’s relationship with Ukraine: ‘Joe’s role was unique and valuable and will be very hard to duplicate.’ If that is true, then the significance of a meeting like this one cannot be understated.”

Schoen arranged Washington meetings for Bielkova on behalf of Pinchuk. These included the one with Ciaramella and his then-boss Zentos, now political and economic chief at the U.S. Embassy in Tblisi.

Schoen, a Democratic operative who began foreign lobbying work for Pinchuk for $40,000 per month beginning in 2000, arranged April 2016 meetings for Bielkova with national security professionals, including Ciaramella, at the behest of Pinchuk. Schoen’s filing under the Foreign Agents Registration Act stated he didn’t attend these meetings personally and that the topic of the meetings was “the Ukrainian progress in energy reform during the past year and what steps must be done in the future to increase energy independence.”

In 2004, Schoen introduced Pinchuk to Bill and Hillary Clinton.

Bielkova met with Ciaramella and his colleague, Liz Zentos, then the director for Eastern Europe on the National Security Council, on April 12, 2016, at Le Pain Quotidien, on 17th Street N.W., a block from the White House. The same day, Bielkova also met with State Department official Michael Kimmage and, separately, with Kramer of the McCain Institute. Kramer figures prominently in the Trump-Russia saga — he met with Steele in December 2016 at Heathrow Airport to obtain a copy of the British ex-spy’s unverified dossier and provided information from it to over a dozen journalists after the presidential election.

Pinchuk, the powerful Ukrainian oligarch and billionaire whom Schoen works for, is the founder of Interpipe Group, one of Ukraine’s largest steel producers, EastOne Group, a large London-based international investment firm, and StarLightMedia, Ukraine’s largest broadcasting conglomerate. Pinchuk’s father-in-law is Leonid Kuchma, the Ukrainian president from the mid-1990s through the mid-2000s. Kuchma was widely seen as corrupt, and he controversially privatized and sold a state-run steel factory to Pinchuk in what was considered by some as a sweetheart deal. Pinchuk was a member of Ukraine’s parliament at about the same time and has continued to use his money and connections to remain active in politics in Ukraine and abroad.

He secretly provided $4 million for a 2012 report carried out by former Obama White House counsel Greg Craig and his law firm, written at the behest of the Kremlin-linked government in Ukraine about the country’s controversial prosecution of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, who was tried under President Viktor Yanukovych, a close ally of Paul Manafort. Schoen testified in the trial this summer, and Craig was found not guilty of misleading investigators about his actions in Ukraine this September.

Pinchuk was the founder of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, Ukraine’s largest philanthropic group, which, among other donations, gave an estimated $10 million to $25 million to the Clinton Foundation. The Clintons have traveled on Pinchuk’s private plane, and Pinchuk attended former President Bill Clinton’s 65th birthday party in Los Angeles in 2011. Pinchuk’s foundation also donated $150,000 to the Donald J. Trump Foundation in 2015 for Trump to appear by video at a Kyiv conference.

In Guantanamo testimony, CIA waterboarder says he threatened to cut throat of 9/11 mastermind’s son GUANTANAMO BAY, Cuba

The man seen as the architect of the CIA’s enhanced interrogations program, who personally waterboarded Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, threatened to cut the throat of the alleged 9/11 mastermind's son if another attack occurred inside the United States.

Mohammed, 55, was dubbed “KSM”and described as “the principal architect of the 9/11 attacks” in the 9/11 Commission Report. The man who waterboarded him, Dr. James Mitchell, who was hired by the CIA in the wake of the al Qaeda terrorist attacks that killed nearly 3,000 Americans, sought to defend his actions during a two-week-long pretrial military court hearing in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

“I said that if there was another catastrophic attack in the United States — one — and I find out about it — two — and you had information about it — three — and another American child died — four — I will cut your son’s throat,” Mitchell testified on Monday, claiming he sought legal advice from a CIA attorney known in court only as “PJ1” before threatening the captured terrorist.

Mitchell, 68, dressed in a dark suit with a white shirt and a blue and silver tie, claimed he was advised that “if it was a threat of imminent harm then that would not be legal” but a “conditional threat” would be — and he emphasized the four conditions in the threat he made to Mohammed.

The admission seems to match a heavily redacted section of a 2004 CIA inspector general report stating that “an experienced agency interrogator reported that … [redacted] interrogators said to Khalid Sheikh Mohammed that if anything else happens in the United States, ‘We’re going to kill your children.’ … With respect to the report provided to him of the threats, [redacted] that report did not indicate that the law had been violated.”

The 2014 Senate Intelligence Committee report on the CIA’s interrogation program also includes a reference to the incident and seems to indicate that the CIA attorney who gave Mitchell the green light worked for the CIA’s Counterterrorism Center and “later told the inspector general that these threats were legal so long as the threats were ‘conditional.’”

The Senate report states that “according to the CIA interrogator, during KSM’s first day at Detention Site Blue, Swigert and Dunbar first began threatening KSM’s children.”

Detention Site Blue is believed to be a CIA black site in Poland. "Swigert" was a pseudonym for Mitchell, while "Dunbar" was a pseudonym for Mitchell’s business partner, Dr. Bruce Jessen, who will testify later this week.

“Dunbar had nothing to do with this,” Mitchell said from the witness stand, slipping into calling him by his codename after repeatedly calling him “Dr. Jessen” for a week.

Mitchell testified that his motivation was to "stop them from killing thousands of other people,” and “the bulk of Americans are grateful for the sacrifices that Dr. Jessen and I took to keep them safe.”

David Nevin, a gray-haired and bespectacled defense attorney for Mohammed, grilled Mitchell about his actions while Mohammed, dressed in a white tunic with a camouflage jacket and dyed-red beard, followed closely from the defense table a couple dozen feet away.

Mitchell disputed the notion that the threats to Mohammed’s children began immediately upon Mohammed's arrival at the black site in early March 2003, after being captured in Pakistan days prior. He blamed the alleged falsehood on a man known in court as “NZ7” but referred to by Mitchell as “the preacher,” a man he says was an “acolyte” of “NX2,” also called “the new sheriff” by the CIA psychologist.

“This was one of the new sheriff’s acolytes who was working to move me out of the interrogation process,” Mitchell testified. “This man exaggerated some aspects of this.”

In his testimony, as well as in his 2016 book Enhanced Interrogation, Mitchell outlined a rivalry with “the new sheriff” and condemned what he saw as abusive treatment of detainees by him and those the man trained.

Mitchell, Jessen, and “the preacher” waterboarded Mohammed together.

During roughly three weeks in March 2003, Mohammed was subjected to at least 15 waterboarding sessions totaling at least 183 water pours across his mouth and nostrils. He was also bounced off a flexible wall and subjected to facial slaps, attention grabs, stress positions, standing sleep deprivation for 6 1/2 days, and other harsh interrogation methods.

“I had every reason to believe that it was legal,” Mitchell said of waterboarding. “If it’s illegal, I’m not going to do it.”

He said the methods were approved by the president and were briefed to the National Security Council, approved by the Justice Department, briefed to Congress, and that the method followed the military’s Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape program. Mitchell said during his testimony that he didn’t want to violate the conventions on torture.

Mitchell said the threat to one of Mohammed’s two sons came at the end of the waterboarding sessions, not before, when the CIA psychologist wanted to transition the terrorist out of enhanced interrogations and “into full debriefing mode."

“When we moved from EIT's to no EIT's, I wanted an emotional flag” for that moment, Mitchell testified. He chose as his flag the “conditional” threat against Mohammed’s child.

“It is, in retrospect, distasteful. … He killed eight children in the Sept. 11 attacks,” Mitchell said to Nevin, who kept pushing the CIA psychologist on whether he had intended to scare Mohammed.

“I would hope that he would fear killing children,” Mitchell said, adding, “that was the only time I made that threat to him,” and “he threatened to kill my family,” too.

“Look over there,” Mitchell said, turning his gaze to Mohammed. “He’s smirking.”

“Do you understand that threatening that would instill fear?” the presiding judge, Col. W. Shane Cohen, eventually jumped in to ask.

“Yes, I do,” Mitchell answered.

But Mitchell denied other accusations level at him.

Nevin again referenced the Senate report that stated that, after one interrogation session, “the detention site personnel hung a picture of KSM's sons in his cell as a way to [heighten] his imagination concerning where they are, who has them, [and] what is in store for them.’”

Mitchell said this was not true and blamed the false claim on the “new preacher” — mixing his nicknames for “the preacher” and “the new sheriff.”

“We didn’t have a picture of his sons. … This is the first time I’m reading this,” Mitchell said. “The entire crew would’ve been sent home if we’d hung pictures in his cell. I will be 100% responsible for the things I did and 0% responsible for the things I didn’t do."

Nevin asked Mitchell whether he’d threatened that Mohammed’s interrogations might last for half a century.

“Didn’t you write the number 50 on the inside of Mr. Mohammed’s cell?” the lawyer asked.

“Absolutely not,” the CIA psychologist retorted. “First I’ve heard of it. If we’d heard of someone doing that, we’d have sent them home.”

In his sessions with Mitchell, Mohammed confessed to the murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl. Later, he admitted to planning assassination plots against presidents and a pope and is suspected of taking part in other terror attacks. Those include the 1993 World Trade Center bombing that killed six people, Richard Reid’s “shoe bomber” 2001 attempt to blow up an airliner, and the 2002 Bali nightclub bombing in Indonesia that killed 202 people.

Mohammed, a close ally of al Qaeda founder Osama bin Laden, is being tried in a death penalty case alongside four co-defendants. These include his nephew, Ammar al Baluchi; alleged 9/11 hijacking trainer Walid bin Attash; 9/11 facilitator Ramzi bin al Shibh; and al Qaeda money man Mustafa al Hawsawi. The defense teams are seeking to throw out confessions the five men made to FBI "clean teams" at Guantanamo Bay.

During the Monday proceeding, Nevin asked about Mitchell's interactions with the alleged trainer, Attash. “Did you point to the blood on the walling wall and tell Mr. bin Atash it was Mr. Mohammed’s blood?” Nevin asked.

“No, I didn’t talk to you about that stain on the wall. No,” Mitchell said, directing his comments to bin Attash directly. “I don’t know whether it was blood. It was a stain on the wall.”

The new finance minister of Ukraine, Natalie Jaresko, may have replaced her US citizenship with Ukrainian at the start of this week, but her employer continued to be the US Government, long after she claims she left the State Department. US court and other records reveal that Jaresko has been the co-owner of a management company and Ukrainian investment funds registered in the state of Delaware, dependent for her salary and for investment funds on a $150 million grant from the US Agency for International Development. The US records reveal that according to Jaresko’s former husband, she is culpable in financial misconduct.

The US Government money has come from the US Agency for International Development (USAID). Reports promised by the website on the impact of its funding operations in Ukraine and Moldova between 1997 and 2005 are missing. The financial report for WNISEF for 2003, the first publicly available, reveals that a USAID grant to the fund amounted to $150 million, with a letter of credit commitment of $141.7 million; $113.6 million had been disbursed by the end of 2003. Asset value was dropping that year, while management salaries, business travel and other expenses were rising. The fund was lossmaking — $4.3 million in the red in 2002, $5.1 million lost in 2003.

The latest available report from WNISEF is for 2012. It can be read here. Invested asset value in 2012, though up on 2003, was falling from the year before, 2011. Investment income for 2012 came to $1.2 million, down 43% on the previous year. The management kept helping itself to more pay, but cut business travel. Still, the bottom line was a loss of $6.4 million, compared to a gain in 2011 of $401,662.

Jerry Falwell Jr. and West Virginia governor urge Virginia counties to secede, join West Virginia

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — In what they acknowledged is a long-shot bid, West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice and Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr. urged unhappy Virginia counties Tuesday to secede and join a neighboring state where Democrats aren't in charge.

Both Justice, a Republican in a state where the GOP dominates the legislature, and Falwell, whose university is in Lynchburg, said the invitation to join West Virginia sends a valid message.

“If you're not truly happy where you are, we stand with open arms to take you from Virginia or anywhere where you may be," said Justice, who's running for re-election. “We stand strongly behind the Second Amendment, and we stand strongly for the unborn.”

Democrats took full control of the Virginia statehouse in November for the first time in a generation and pledged to enact gun control measures, roll back abortion restrictions, and prohibit discrimination against LGBTQ people.

Their agenda sparked a conservative backlash. This month tens of thousands of gun rights activists flooded the state Capitol and surrounding area in protest, some donning tactical gear and military rifles.

“What's happening in Virginia right now is a tragedy in the making,” Falwell said. "Democratic leaders in Richmond, through their elitism and radicalism, have left a nearly unrecognizable state in their wake.”

Lawmakers in West Virginia have introduced formal resolutions inviting parts of Virginia to join their state.

One resolution targets Virginia's Frederick County, but was met with a shrug from the county's leader. The other casts a wider net to all Virginia's counties, saying the “government at Richmond now seeks to place intolerable restraints upon the rights guaranteed under the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution.”

“We saw their way of life under attack and we wanted to offer assistance,” said Del. Gary Howell, a West Virginia Republican who sponsored one of the resolutions.

The announcement from Falwell and Justice drew laughs from both sides of the aisle in Virginia.

“What are they doing, a comedy routine?” said Sen. Emmett Hanger, R-Augusta.

“Preposterous,” said Senate Majority Leader Dick Saslaw, D-Fairfax.

Saslaw added that Justice should be focused on solving West Virginia’s high poverty rate and “not screw around in Virginia.”

A spokeswoman for Virginia's Democratic governor, Ralph Northam, dismissed the idea, saying: “As always, Jerry Falwell’s words speak for themselves.”

The process by which such a breakup could occur is murky, but Falwell said lawyers have told him counties in Virginia would first need to conduct petition drives. Then a referendum would be held, and if successful, the proposal would go before Virginia's General Assembly.

Rick Boyer, a Virginia conservative activist attorney and former local elected official, is helping with the "Vexit" push. He said a growing movement of conservative Virginians is serious about leaving a state that he said doesn't respect their rights.

"This isn't street theater; we fully intend to do everything we can to see it through," Boyer said.

University of Virginia law professor Richard Schragger, whose work includes a focus on the intersection of constitutional law and local government law, said the move would require the consent of Congress and both states.

“It’s certainly a long shot,” he said, laughing.

Liberty is the nation's highest-profile evangelical college. It has expanded from a tiny Baptist school into a touchstone institution for evangelicals. Falwell and Justice are both ardent supporters of President Donald Trump.

US charges Harvard scientist with lying about China ties

Chinese researchers in Boston also accused of being foreign agents.

A Harvard University department chair and two Chinese nationals who were researchers at Boston University and a Boston hospital were charged on Tuesday for lying about their links to the Chinese government. The charges are part of an aggressive effort by U.S. authorities to block what they say are Chinese efforts to stealing American scientific and technological advances. "This is a very carefully directed effort by the Chinese government to fill what it views as its own strategic gaps," said Andrew Lelling, U.S. Attorney for the District of Massachusetts, as he revealed the charges in a news conference.

Prosecutors charged Charles Lieber, chair of Harvard University's Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, with lying about his participation in China's Thousand Talents Plan, which aims to attract research specialists working overseas. Two Chinese researchers were charged with being agents of a foreign government. They were Yanqing Ye, a Boston University robotics researcher who prosecutors said lied about being in the Chinese army, and Zaosong Zheng, a cancer researcher at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center who was arrested last month allegedly trying to smuggle research samples out of the country.

Prosecutors said Ye is a lieutenant in the Chinese People's Liberation Army, which she did not disclose when she obtained a visa to enter the United States. She is accused of passing information on research conducted at Boston University to China's government. Zheng was arrested last month at Boston Logan International Airport as he tried to leave the United States with 21 vials containing sensitive biological samples in his baggage. He planned to return to China to continue his research there, prosecutors allege.

Joe Bonavolonta, in charge of the FBI's Boston field office, said Lieber had received millions of dollars from the Chinese government and that he lied about that to federal investigators and officials at Harvard.

According to a court filing, Lieber made materially false, fictitious and fraudulent statements to the U.S. Department of Defense about his role in the plan, and to the National Institutes of Health about that role and also his affiliation with Wuhan University of Technology in China.

Lieber was charged with one count of making false statements to a U.S. government agency, according to court records. He was not charged with anything related to traditional espionage, Bonavolonta said, adding that investigators were trying to determine if anything other than money motivated his actions.

Harvard and Boston University said through spokespeople that they were cooperating with investigators.

"The charges brought by the U.S. government against Professor Lieber are extremely serious," Harvard said in a statement. "Professor Lieber has been placed on indefinite administrative leave."

Lieber was arrested on Tuesday. Efforts to reach him were unsuccessful.

Beth Israel officials could not be reached for immediate comment.

Lieber, Ye and Zheng are the latest in a series of academics the United States has criminally charged for their dealings with China.

In August, federal prosecutors charged a University of Kansas researched for failing to disclose ties to a Chinese university.

Police Officer Who Patrolled Playgrounds & Parks Accused Of Transporting Child Pornography

Greenbelt, Maryland – A federal grand jury has indicted Anthony Michael Mileo, age 54, of Huntingtown, Maryland, on the federal charge of transportation of child pornography. The indictment was returned on January 22, 2020, and was unsealed at his initial appearance yesterday. Mileo is an officer with the Maryland National Capital Park Police Department.

According to the indictment, on May 28, 2019, Mileo transported child pornography by computer. Mileo previously faced related charges in Calvert County, but those charges were dismissed in favor of federal prosecution.

If convicted, Mileo faces a mandatory minimum of five years in federal prison and a maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison for transportation of child pornography. Actual sentences for federal crimes are typically less than the maximum penalties. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after taking into account the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors. At his initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Greenbelt, U.S. Magistrate Judge DiGirolamo ordered that Mileo be released under the supervision of U.S. Pretrial Services.

Not every part of the intelligence community, however, has reached such lofty heights as offering lesson plans for schoolteachers. Here are a few lesser-known arms of United States intelligence:

National Underwater Reconnaissance Office

It took thirteen years for the public to learn about the existence of the National Reconnaissance Office, by way of a short piece in the Washington Post. The National Underwater Reconnaissance Office, on the other hand, remained a secret for twenty-nine years. Where the NRO began as a joint CIA-U.S. Air Force agency, the NURO is the intersection of the CIA and U.S. Navy.

The agency was pivotal during the Cold War, enabling the United States to spy on the Soviet Union using submarines and by tapping undersea communication lines. Its most famous operation (so far) is Project Azorian, in which a ship called the Glomar Explorer was constructed to retrieve a sunken Soviet submarine.

Special Collection Service

Sometimes the Utah Data Center isn’t enough and the NSA needs to get hands-on in foreign countries. To do this, it calls upon the men and women of the Special Collection Service, a joint CIA-NSA signals intelligence agency. The SCS is charged with placing high-tech bugs in impossible locations. To do this, the service can send in Special Collection Elements that are equipped with gear that would make Q jealous—umbrellas that unfold to parabolic antennas, satellite transmitters disguised as simple laptops, and lasers that can read conversations by recording the vibrations of windows.

And they’re not just bugging hotel rooms in Prague. They’re also on the ground in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Pakistan, tapping communications infrastructure and spying on terrorist training camps. As John Pike of the Federation of American Scientists put it, “When you think of NSA, you think satellites. When you think CIA, you think James Bond and microfilm. But you don’t really think of an agency whose sole purpose is to get up real close and use the best technology there is to listen and transmit. That’s SCS.”

Alliance for Securing Democracy is a Deep State Who's Who

The Alliance For Securing Democracy is popping up in the mainstream press during the President Trump impeachment saga to offer supposed expertise on Russian disinformation. Though presented in the mainstream media as a credible source of punditry, Alliance For Securing Democracy is actually a group of bipartisan anti-Trump neocon/neoliberal operatives closely linked to the Deep State. The Alliance For Securing Democracy was recently cited in the Washington Post article “Russian spies hacked Ukrainian gas company at heart of Trump impeachment trial, company says,” by Ellen Nakashima, and the New York Times article ‘Chaos Is The Point’: Russian Hackers and Trolls Grow Stealthier in 2020.” The group clearly exists to push the narrative that Russians and other disinformation agents are influencing the 2020 election as Democrat allies gear up to push for increased censorship of pro-Trump information on the Internet, and it also seems to find time to criticize President Trump’s trade policy. The group has a new 2.0 version of its “Hamilton 68” dashboard for monitoring supposed Russian influence online.

The group’s Advisory Council includes former Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol, Hillary Clinton campaign boss John Podesta, Bush Homeland Security chief Michael Chertoff, John McCain operative David Kramer (who infamously circulated the discredited anti-Trump Christopher Steele dossier in the nation’s capital), Obama’s Russia ambassador Mike McFaul, and Hillary Clinton’s State Department deputy chief of staff Jake Sullivan (who testified that he used non-secure email along with Clinton), in addition to various other statist Intel-World radicals and former government officials. The group has over 175 individual and foundation donors, and lists six of them on its “Supporters” page, including Democracy Fund founded by ebay founder Pierre Omidyar, the Sandler Foundation, and the Bernard and Anne Spitzer Charitable Trust named for Eliot Spitzer’s parents.

San Francisco official in charge of cleaning up city's filthy streets arrested

The head of San Francisco Public Works, which is in charge of cleaning up the city’s feces-filled streets, has been arrested by the FBI on suspicion of public corruption.

San Francisco Public Works Director Mohammed Nuru was arrested Monday alongside Nick Bovis, the owner of a popular sports bar in Fisherman’s Wharf, Lefty O-Doul’s. Sources told NBC Bay Area that Nuru was arrested on suspicion of accepting bribes for airport concession contracts.

Both Nuru and Bovis were released on bond following their arrest.

As the top official in charge of the $312 million city public works budget since 2012, Nuru was tasked with cleaning up San Francisco streets, which critics note remain cluttered with feces, trash and used needles amid a homelessness crisis.

The Siege of Boston (Jan-March 1776) is the next major battle literally right after Lexington/Concord (pic related):    

In the days after the Lexington Alarm, 20k New Englanders (i.e. think of the record breaking 175k New Englanders who had tickets for the NJ rally tonight) composed of loose citizen militias, which was the nucleus of the Continental Army, descended onto Boston, laying siege to the city and successfully surrounded/contained the British Army. 

When Washington arrived in Boston, he was shocked by the disorganized state of his New Continental Army - at that point composed of in-cohesive bands of citizen militia, who lacked all organization/discipline/training. He is forced to make a difficult administrative decision. Washington wants to expel the surrounded British Forces by force, taking the fight to them head on. A plane carrying about 210 U.S. citizens evacuated from Wuhan, China—the epicenter of the deadly coronavirus—has landed in the U.S. after it was diverted Tuesday to California’s March Air Reserve Base "for the logistics that they have," an official said.

The plane was initially headed to Ontario International Airport in California.

Curt Hagman, the chairman of the San Bernandino County Board of Supervisors and a commissioner at the airport, said on social media that the CDC had informed him of its decision to divert the flight.

"Ontario International is one of the repatriation airports for the west coast and we are always prepared to receive our citizens abroad in times of emergencies," Hagman said in a video posted to his YouTube channel. "We were prepared but the state department decided to switch the flight to March Air Force Base for logistics that they have."

The aircraft had reportedly been chartered by the American government to fly out diplomats from the U.S. Consulate in Wuhan, as well as other citizens.

North Korea likely played a role in Middle Eastern missile strikes

A detail generally overlooked in all we’ve been reading about the misfired Iranian missile that brought down the Ukraine airliner with 176 people aboard: It was most likely made in North Korea and sold to Iran or made in Iran from a North Korean design and technology.

The relationship between North Korea and Iran revolves around the export to Iran of thousands of short- to mid-range missiles over the past 20 to 30 years. They’re the type that Iran also ships to Syria and the anti-Israel groups Hezbollah and Hamas. The missiles Iran fired at U.S. bases in Iraq in a show of vengeance for the killing of Gen. Qassem Soleimani would also have been North Korean.

The relationship goes deep into the history of the region. President George W. Bush, in the first State of the Union address of his presidency in January 2002, four months after the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon, described an “axis of evil” binding North Korea, Iran and Iraq, then ruled by Saddam Hussein. Iraq’s membership in that infamous grouping may have ended when Bush ordered U.S. troops into Iraq the next year on the basis of phony reports about a weapons of mass destruction program, but Iran and North Korea have long been in cahoots on nukes and missiles.

North Korea has hundreds of advisers on the ground now in Iran providing “technical support and training on a variety of systems and capabilities,” says Bruce Bechtol, who’s been watching North Korea ever since serving as a Marine in South Korea, then an intelligence analyst in the Pentagon and a faculty member at Marine Corps University in Quantico, Va. Bechtol, the author of numerous books and articles on North Korea’s leadership and military structure, says the North has shipped Scud, Rodong and Musudan missiles to Iran and the technology for the intercontinental Taepodong.

“North Korea is the seller and Iran is the buyer,” says Bechtol, but that’s not all. The two also collaborate on nuclear technology originally acquired from Abdul Qadeer Khan, the Pakistani nuclear physicist known as the “father of the Pakistan atomic bomb.”

A national hero for his role in arming Pakistan against its historic foe, India, already a nuclear power, A.Q. Khan made a fortune selling nuclear secrets to Iran and North Korea before he was finally arrested and confined to his estate in the Pakistan capital of Islamabad. Iran has yet to fabricate a nuclear warhead but has had teams of scientists, engineers and technicians on hand in North Korea witnessing all six of the North’s underground nuclear tests, last staged in September 2017, as well as numerous missile tests.

The bond between Iran and North Korea confronts the United States with a serious question that has yet to come up amid all the speculation about U.S. policy toward both countries. Much as President Donald Trump would like to calm fears of an impending war with Iran and come to terms with North Korea on its nukes, he does not appear to be aware of the de facto alliance between the two. Everywhere Iran supports militias and front groups around the Middle East, North Korean advisers are there too telling them how to fire those missiles.

But how do these missiles get to Iran? A few may go by boat, eluding capture by the U.S. Navy and others committed to stopping the traffic, but the easiest, safest, swiftest route is by air. The planes have to go through Chinese air space, possibly stopping in China, and also may be landing in Pakistan. China has long been providing military aid to Pakistan, through which it’s building a road across the Himalayas all the way to the Arabian Sea. Both Pakistan and China count on Iran as a major source of oil. China in turn provides North Korea with virtually all its oil. As Muslim countries, Pakistan and Iran have been on good terms for years.

The enduring nature of the Tehran-Pyongyang axis, however, does not mean that a wider war is inevitable in either the Middle East or northeast Asia. Protests in Tehran may force the government to pull back, to avoid conflict, while Kim Jong Un focuses on economic issues. If Kim does have a “strategic new weapon,” however, it’s certain that Iranian and North Korean scientists and engineers are working on it and both sides will have it. That’s assuming such a fearsome weapon really exists.

WASHINGTON—Republican leaders said they don’t currently have enough votes to block witnesses in President Trump’s Senate impeachment trial, people familiar with the matter said, after his legal team concluded its efforts to counter Democrats’ charges that the president abused power and obstructed Congress.

On the third and final day of presentations by the Trump legal team, lawyers tried to cast doubts on the importance and credibility of allegations by former national security adviser John Bolton about the president’s motives for freezing aid to Ukraine. Republicans had hoped to wrap up the trial with an acquittal of the president by this week, but Democrats have said Mr. Bolton should appear under oath to offer a firsthand account of the president’s motivations for freezing aid to Ukraine—a matter at the heart of the impeachment case.

At a meeting of all Republican senators late Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) said the vote total wasn’t where it needed to be on blocking witnesses or documents, the people familiar with the matter said. He had a card with “yes,” “no,” and “maybes” marked on it, apparently a whip count, but he didn’t show it to senators.

Sens. Cory Gardner of Colorado, Martha McSally of Arizona and Thom Tillis of North Carolina, who face competitive races in the fall, addressed their colleagues in the meeting, people familiar with the matter said. Mr. Gardner said a longer trial would lead to more Democratic attacks, according to a spokesman, and Mr. Tillis called impeachment a sham. Ms. McSally’s office said she doesn’t comment on what happens in private meetings.

An administration official said the White House was optimistic it would get the necessary votes by Friday. “We are still in the game,” the official said.

During Tuesday’s proceedings, the president’s lawyers argued that House managers hadn’t established their case that Mr. Trump abused power and obstructed Congress and said the accusations fell short of the threshold needed to remove a president from office, particularly in an election year.
