Whenever you think about Paris Hilton, you immediately think of controversy and reality TV shows. For years, Paris Hilton has played the part of the dumb blonde with seemingly little effort. She has graced the covers of different tabloids for the wrong reasons.
However, her new documentary This is Paris has shown us that we know nothing about the 39-year-old heiress. The documentary has given fans of the socialite a fresh set of eyes into her personal life and struggles. Despite the praise, not everyone is happy about the documentary and what it has brought out about Hilton, specifically whom she voted for.
On September 14, 2020, Paris Hilton released her new documentary called This is Paris as a YouTube Originals documentary. This is Paris shows how the heiress continues to expand her empire globally and runs her businesses.
It also gave viewers a more intimate never-before-seen side of Hilton. The documentary details how Hilton experienced childhood trauma, which has played a significant role in who she is today. According to Refinery 29, Hilton was physically and emotionally abused when she was a teenager.
The abuse occurred while attending the Provo Canyon School in Utah and has haunted Hilton for most of her life. The 39-year-old notes that the experience ultimately affected her ability to trust those around her, including her friends and family. Hilton breaks down how she played the character of a dumb blonde to avoid her past and because she felt that was what people liked to see.
The documentary was directed by Emmy award-winning director Alexandra Dean who has also directed various other documentaries such as Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story about the titular 1940’s inventor and glamour icon.

In more recent times, documentaries have become an outlet for many celebrities to showcase a different side. Katy Perry, for example, released her 2012 documentary called Katy Perry: Part of Me detailing her work ethic and tour, and Taylor Swift released her Netflix documentary Miss Americana, which received critical praise.
Hilton’s documentary has been received well, with many praising her bravery for coming out with such a bold film showing her otherwise private life. Most of her fans couldn’t believe that someone as wealthy as Hilton went through what she did. Many felt that the documentary changed their view on Hilton’s made-up media persona.
This is Paris has also gotten Hilton additional press, with many now viewing her in a different light than before. However, the popularity of the documentary has resurfaced some of Hilton’s controversial past moves.

Among the things that Hilton shares in her life story was her decision to vote for Trump. According to USA Today, Hilton’s vote for the president was purely out of family ties, and many people are not having it.
When asked why she voted for Trump, the businesswoman laughed and said that she’d known the president since she was a teenager, and it, therefore, felt like the right thing to do. The interviewer also went ahead to ask if she would run for president herself, to which she replied with a laugh stating that she liked the idea.
Many people, however, haven’t taken Hilton’s decision and sentiments lightly. Twitter went into an uproar after the documentary came out, with many noting that her decision was made from the point of privilege and not critical thinking. Many Twitter users noted that voting for someone as harmful as Trump only due to family friendship ties was utterly unreasonable.

Paris Hilton voted for an old friend last week.
Hilton was asked by the Australia’s Channel Ten’s The Project if she voted for President-elect Donald Trump.
Hilton laughed before saying, “I’ve known him since I’m a little girl. So yes.”
When Hilton was asked if she’d consider running for president, she said, “sounds good I like the ring to that,” though she seemed to be joking.
An interview Trump had previously done with Howard Stern resurfaced this fall in which Trump talked about how he found Hilton attractive when he first met her — at age 12.
"Somebody who a lot of people don’t give credit to but in actuality is really beautiful — really beautiful, is Paris Hilton,” he said. “I’ve known Paris Hilton from the time she’s 12, her parents are friends of mine, and the first time I saw her she walked into the room and I said, ‘Who the hell is that?’”
“Did you wanna bang her?” Stern asked.
“Well, at 12, I wasn’t interested,” Trump said, “I’ve never been into that, I sort of always stuck around that 25 category. I saw her at 12 she was beautiful.”

Imagine hearing noises from your little girl's room and when you go to investigate you find a middle-aged man living in her closet. That became a reality for one Florida family, Sunday. The details of this case are stranger than fiction and may disturb some readers.
Police say they arrested an adult male in a 15-year-old child's room after her parents discovered him 'cowering' in the closet. Jonathan Rossmoine, 36, reportedly had first found the girl two years before while on a virtual online chat where users have 3D avatars that they use to interact with one another. Authorities say that Rossmoine had been hiding in the teen's room for at least a month before he was discovered.
Deputies said the man admitted to traveling from Louisiana to Florida after meeting the teen online two years ago. The teen's parents later found the man hiding in their child's closet, and the victim told police he had been living there for about a month. https://t.co/i0M1Onchag
Rossmore, who is from Louisiana, admitted to driving to meet the girl several times. He also admitted to having sex with the teen. The unnamed teen's parents said they searched the daughter's room after "hearing noises coming from the bedroom". That's when they made a terrifying discovery.
Detective Tom Cameron of the Hernando County Sheriff's Office said that Rossmoine and the teen figured he would remain unknown if he simply hid in the teen's room. "He and the young lady came up with the idea that he could just stay in her room if he hid the closet whenever the parents came in," Cameron said. "They kept the bedroom door closed and locked and whenever someone came to the door it gave them an opportunity to run and hide in the closet and open up the door to where maybe she was changing or something."

North Korea has arrested 20 “phone brokers” who arrange calls and money transfers from outside the country in a nationwide crackdown on illegal mobile phone users, sources familiar with the cases told RFA.
The accused — some of whom were moonlighting security officials — were arrested in the Ryangang provincial capital Hyesan, a northern city on the Chinese border, after they were caught arranging phone calls and remittances between North Koreans and their relatives in China and South Korea.

Pennsylvania Counties Confess They Submitted Inaccurate Data to Gov't on Qualified Voters
Several counties in Pennsylvania admit they submitted erroneous information to a government agency regarding eligible voters.
The conservative group, Judicial Watch filed a lawsuit against the state of Pennsylvania and three of its counties in April. The case noted that up to 800,000 registered voters in the commonwealth should have been classified as "inactive."
The group issued a warning earlier this year after discovering the number of registered voters was too high.
Pennsylvania admitted it approved incorrect data to the Election Assistance Commission (EAC) for Bucks, Chester, and Delaware counties. Those counties also reported their own amended figures, which varied from those submitted by the state.
Federal law stipulates that Pennsylvania must confirm to the EAC how many voter registrations were removed from their rolls because the voter died or moved out of the state.

The lawsuit highlighted the unusually low number of removals under the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA).
Judicial Watch compared registration data in the EAC's report to data from the Census Bureau and determined that Bucks, Chester, and Delaware Counties had total registration rates between 96 and 97 percent.
It was noted that the percentage was high for the state of Pennsylvania, especially when compared to the rest of the country. This led to the conclusion that the outdated registrations had not been removed.
"Pennsylvania's voting rolls are such a mess that even Pennsylvania can't tell a court the details of how dirty or clean they are. The simple solution is to follow federal law and take the necessary and simple steps to clean up their voter rolls," said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

Family sues Hawaii nursing home operator after coronavirus-related death of Vietnam War veteran
A wrongful death lawsuit against the operator of the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo has been filed by the sons of Chris Drayer, a decorated Vietnam War veteran who died after contracting in Hawaii’s largest coronavirus nursing home outbreak.
The complaint filed in Circuit Court against Utah-based Avalon Health Care and four of its affiliates by Noah Bennett-Drayer and Daniel Bennett-Drayer alleges the elder Drayer died due to “Avalon’s substandard care and non-existent health safety practices.”
“Chris Drayer did not deserve to die at Yukio. He died because Avalon failed to keep him safe. It is beyond belief that nearly six months after the onset of the worst pandemic in 100 years, a facility caring for the most vulnerable members of our community could fail to practice the most basic of protections for its residents,” Hawaii island attorney Jeffrey Foster said in a news release. “The 26 veterans at Yukio who have died due to COVID-19 appear to have been victims of Avalon’s gross mismanagement and we intend to hold the Avalon entities legally accountable.”
Avalon spokeswoman Allison Griffiths said she couldn’t comment on individual cases due to privacy laws, but that “we mourn every life that has been lost to this historic pandemic as our heroic health-care workers continue to fight to save lives.”
“The health and safety of our residents is always our top priority,” she said.

Attorney General Dana Nessel will no longer enforce Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's executive orders after the Michigan Supreme Court ruled Friday that one of the laws underpinning the orders was unconstitutional.
Nessel's decision comes as Whitmer's team has argued that her orders would stay in effect for 21 days after the ruling, a reference to a 21-day period in which parties can ask for reconsideration.
But opponents have said the 21-day rule doesn't apply to rulings issued in response to a federal certified question as was the case in Friday's Supreme Court decision.

Further, the language of the order, clearly calling all orders issued after April 30 to be unconstitutional seems to support immediate effect.

DNMagasinet released a shocking report on Friday where they uncovered that Jeffrey Epstein was present at a meeting in Strasbourg in 2013 with the then Chairman of the Nobel Committee and billionaire Bill Gates.

Democratic lawmakers and progressive advocates demanded on Friday and into Saturday that the Senate Judiciary Committee postpone Judge Amy Coney Barrett's confirmation hearing for the U.S. Supreme Court after at least three Republican senators tested positive for the coronavirus.
Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) announced his positive result on Saturday morning, a day after two Senate Judiciary Committee members—Sens. Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Thom Tillis (R-N.C.)—were also diagnosed with Covid-19.
Johnson did not attend the White House gathering last Saturday where President Donald Trump announced his nomination of Barrett, but he has been attending lunches with other Republican senators three times per week, including this past week. Lee and Tillis have also been attending the gatherings, suggesting that they may have exposed several of their Senate colleagues. Democratic senators have suspended their in-person lunches in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
The progressive advocacy group Demand Justice was among those who called on the Senate Judiciary Committee to postpone Barrett's hearings, which are set to begin Oct. 13.
"They need to postpone the hearing because voting on Barrett before the election would gravely damage the legitimacy of the Court itself," wrote Susan Hennessey, executive editor of Lawfare. "Rushing to have the hearing under these circumstances just shows that Republicans know they won't have the votes after Election Day."

Johnson's diagnosis calls into question—even if the Senate Judiciary Committee moves forward with a virtual hearing—whether Barrett could be confirmed before Election Day, one month from Saturday.
As CNN reported Saturday, "If the three senators remain out this month, it would effectively prevent Barrett from being confirmed to the Supreme Court until they return, which could be after Election Day during a lame-duck session."
"A lame-duck confirmation is a situation that GOP leaders are eager to avoid in case they lose control of the chamber next month," reported Manu Raju and Lauren Fox. "The fear is that one or two GOP senators may break ranks after seeing the election results and citing the will of the voters."
Two Republican senators—Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) have already indicated they do not support moving forward with Barrett's confirmation process before the election, but have not ruled out a confirmation during a potential lame-duck session should Trump lose to Democratic candidate Joe Biden.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) tweeted late Friday that with at least two Covid-positive Judiciary Committee members, "The Senate cannot safely proceed on the Supreme Court nomination. We must focus on containing this virus to protect members and staff."
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), ranking member of the Judiciary Committee, issued a joint statement Friday along with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), noting the "bipartisan agreement that a virtual confirmation hearing for a lifetime appointment to the federal bench is not an acceptable substitute" for an in-person hearing and calling on committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) postpone the hearing.
"All circuit court nominees have appeared in person during the pandemic, and there is far more at stake for the American people with this Supreme Court nomination, including the Affordable Care Act being struck down and more than seven million Covid survivors being denied health coverage," the lawmakers said. "It’s critical that Chairman Graham put the health of senators, the nominee and staff first – and ensure a full and fair hearing that is not rushed, not truncated, and not virtual. Otherwise this already illegitimate process will become a dangerous one.”

Cop Who Was Not Fired After First Arrest, Arrested Again—for Child Rape—Still Not Fired
Clinton, MD — It is an unfortunate reality in the land of the free that police officers commit crimes against children. In case after case, the Free Thought Project has reported on countless officers who have been arrested for preying on society’s most vulnerable. While there is certainly no shortage of non-cops who abuse children, being a police officer gives many cops the ability to cover their crimes or puts them in positions of authority and trust that allow them to prey on children. All too often, even when they are caught, cops receive special treatment under the law and in their employment.
If your job is to arrest people for DUI and you get a DUI, you should be fired and stripped of your law enforcement license for betraying the trust of the community you serve. Yes, everyone is innocent until proven guilty, but if your job is to enforce the law and you are recorded on another police officer’s dash camera, driving while intoxicated, you need to be fired.
But that did not happen when officer Tristan Thigpen got his DUI in 2018. Instead, he’s been on paid vacation ever since. And, while he was on paid vacation — for violating his oath and betraying the community — he has since allegedly raped a child.
While on paid vacation, Thigpen is accused of sexually abusing a “young child.” During a press conference this week, State’s Attorney Aisha Braveboy announced multiple charges against Thigpen for the alleged repeated sex abuse of a child, who Thigpen knew.
The charges that Thigpen face include:
Sex abuse of a minor
Third-degree sex offense
Second-degree assault
Fourth-degree sex offense
According to prosecutors, the victim was a household member, meaning it could have even been his own child. While they haven’t provided specifics of how they learned of the abuse, officials noted they found out about it through “various law enforcement agencies.”
Braveboy encouraged anyone else who has been a victim of Thigpen to come forward.

House Minority Whip Steve Scalise claimed Saturday that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has thwarted efforts to conduct widespread coronavirus testing on Capitol Hill.
The allegations come as Senate Democrats attempt to use COVID-19 infections circulating between Pennsylvania Avenue and Capitol Hill to delay Amy Coney Barrett's Senate confirmation.
What did Scalise say?
Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.), the ranking member on the House Committee on House Administration has been urging Pelosi to implement "a comprehensive health monitoring system and testing program for our Capitol Hill campus in order to help us do our part to stop the spread of coronavirus."
But she has so far refused to take action, Scalise explained on "Fox and Friends."
"I mean these protocols have been out there and the testing capabilities have been out there for a long time. They were offered to the speaker and she turned it down," Scalise said. "I think it's something that should have been in Congress for a few weeks now. But ultimately that's what the speaker decided to do."

Seattle rioters launch firecrackers INSIDE Starbucks after smashing storefront
A group of activists attacked a Starbucks in Seattle, shattering the coffee shop’s windows and then setting off fireworks inside the building. Police arrived at the scene and ordered the rioters to disperse.
Black-clad protesters threw rocks and other projectiles at the business, while others used implements to destroy the windowed storefront. Video footage shows rioters lighting firecrackers and tossing them into the building. Several loud explosions can be heard as members of the mob cheer. The Starbucks was also sprayed with anti-police graffiti.
Law enforcement moved in and declared the protest a riot, warning the crowd to leave the area or face arrest. Police mounted on bicycles pushed the protesters back while demonstrators formed a wall of shields as they retreated down the street.
Seattle police posted photographs of other acts of vandalism carried out across the city on Saturday night. Authorities said that “multiple arrests” were made after “explosives” were thrown at officers.
This isn’t the first time that the popular coffee chain has been targeted by Seattle rioters. In July, a different Starbucks in the city was trashed by a mob.
Black Lives Matter and Antifa activists have held numerous protests in Seattle, with many of the demonstrations descending into property destruction and violence.
The city briefly became the home of the infamous CHAZ/CHOP “autonomous zone”, which was shut down after widespread lawlessness and violence in the protester-controlled area resulted in several deaths.
