REPORT: John Durham Tapped by Sessions in 2017 to Investigate Comey Leak

US Attorney from Connecticut John Durham was tapped by then Attorney General Jeff Sessions in March of 2017 to investigate then-FBI Director James Comey.

According to a new book written by New York Times reporter Mike Schmidt, Sessions in March of 2017 appointed John Durham to investigate James Comey following a report by the New York Times that Comey asked the DOJ to make a statement denying Trump’s accusation that Obama wiretapped Trump Tower — but the DOJ refused.

President Trump also fired off a tweet hammering Obama for wiretapping Trump Tower.

Sessions assigned Durham to open a leak investigation into James Comey. Durham reportedly had his own office and reported directly to Jeff Sessions, angering career officials working under then-DAG Rod Rosenstein.

Schmidt reports in his book that around March 2017, Attorney General Jeff Sessions tapped Durham—then an assistant U.S. attorney in Connecticut—to open a leak investigation into FBI Director James Comey following reporting by the New York Times that Comey had asked the Justice Department to refute Trump’s baseless allegations that former President Barack Obama had ordered the wiretapping of Trump Tower. The investigation reported directly to Sessions. Schmidt adds that Durham’s investigation “unnerved career officials in the deputy attorney general’s office,” which is generally responsible for the department’s day-to-day operations and normally would have overseen an investigation like Durham’s.

The existence of the investigation shows that Durham has been involved with the investigation of Russia-related matters from the very start of the Trump administration, a point the New York Times’s Charlie Savage made on Twitter. It is unclear to what extent Durham’s 2017 inquiry is related to a January 2020 report that federal prosecutors were investigating whether Comey improperly disclosed information to reporters in the spring of 2017.

A year and a half after US Attorney General Bill Barr appointed Durham to investigate the origins of Spygate, he finally filed a criminal complaint against FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith and charged him with one count of making false statements after he altered an email from CIA investigators used to request a FISA warrant and renewals on Trump campaign advisor Carter Page.

Clinesmith plead guilty last month to one charge of making false statements 18 USC 1001 a(3) “makes or uses any false writing or document knowing the same to contain any materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent statement or entry.”

This means John Durham has been closely connected to the Russiagate investigation for 3 years and we’ve only seen one person charged.

Comey has been under investigation by Durham since 2017 and he still has not been indicted.

‘Turning Point for the Nation’: Pro-Life Leaders Urge Trump to ‘Move Quickly’ to Fill Supreme Court Vacancy

Both pro-life leaders and abortion rights advocates are keenly aware the vacancy on the Supreme Court following the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg could mark a crucial moment in the history of the nation and how America views the right to life.

While some pro-life leaders are acknowledging Ginsburg’s role in advancing the position of women in the legal profession, they are eager to have another Supreme Court justice who is a Constitutionalist, and one who views the right to life, including for unborn children, as the most fundamental right protected by the Constitution.

Catherine Glenn Foster, president of Americans United for Life, is urging President Donald Trump to “move quickly to nominate Judge Amy Coney Barrett,” who currently sits on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, to fill the High Court’s vacancy. Foster said:

At this crucial time in the history of our great nation, it is imperative that a respected nominee is selected who will understand that the role of the High Court is to fairly interpret America’s Constitution and laws according to the meaning and intention of Congress and the Framers, and not seek to write their own value judgments into law.

She added Barrett “values upholding the original understanding and blessings of liberty inherent in our cherished Constitution,” and observed it is likely the Court “will be asked to rule on questions fundamental to the functioning of our Republic, including the most important human rights question of our time: the human right to life.”

“We are confident that if appointed to the Supreme Court, Judge Barrett would prove herself a trusted caretaker of the Constitutional protections extended to every human person in America, including human lives in the womb,” Foster said.

The abortion industry, however, does not support the right to life of unborn children. The rights of women to control their bodies and end pregnancies when they choose are paramount to this lobby, which profits from abortion.

Trump Will Name One of These 12 People to the Supreme Court Next Week

On Saturday evening at a rally in Fayetteville, N.C., President Donald Trump announced that he would be naming a successor to the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

“I will be putting forth a nominee next week. It will be a woman,” the president declared. This will likely unleash speculation as to which candidate Trump will choose from his list of potential nominees.

Trump made the announcement shortly after a heartfelt tribute to Ginsburg, a liberal lion of the Court who refused to retire despite fighting pancreatic cancer for more than a decade.

“As we meet tonight, our nation mourns the loss of a legal giant, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg,” the president declared. “Her landmark rulings, fierce commitment to justice, and her courageous battle against cancer inspire all Americans. … She was an inspiration to a tremendous number of people, I say all Americans.”

“Justice Ginsburg’s close relationship with a friend of ours, a friend of mine, Justice Scalia, is also a powerful reminder that we can disagree on fundamental issues while treating each other with decency, dignity, and respect,” Trump added. “Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.”

Three strong possibilities

Since Trump said he will choose a woman, that narrows down the names on his list of potential nominees. Twelve of the 44 names on Trump’s list are women. Of those twelve, 7th Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Amy Coney Barrett is considered the frontrunner.

When Trump was deliberating which nominee to choose when replacing Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, the president told confidants he had big plans for Barrett. “I’m saving her for Ginsburg,” he said, three sources told Axios’ Jonathan Swan last March.

Barrett would be an excellent choice. Not only is she a stellar judge and a pro-life Roman Catholic, but Barrett performed well under fire during her confirmation hearing in 2017. Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) notoriously said, “The dogma lives loudly within you,” suggesting something of a religious test for a federal judgeship.

Democrats have only gotten worse in their readiness to launch inquisitions into the faith of the conservative Christians whom Trump has nominated to federal offices. Many have cited the far-left smear factory the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) to demonize nominees who have spoken at events with Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), an accomplished conservative Christian law firm that the SPLC unfairly demonizes as a “hate group.”

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), Democratic nominee Joe Biden’s running mate and a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, has a history of attacking conservative Christians for their faith and she will likely vociferously attack Barrett in the confirmation hearings.

In fact, Harris previously attacked another woman on Trump’s shortlist, Allison Jones Rushing, a judge on the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals. Rushing clerked for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and she clerked for Neil Gorsuch when he was an appeals court judge. Harris attacked Rushing for her relationship with ADF and asked her whether she thinks “that LGBT rights cannot be reconciled with religion.”

Many commentators are speculating that Trump may pick 11th Circuit Court Judge Barbara Lagoa, a Cuban judge who would become the second Latina member of the Supreme Court after Sonia Sotomayor. Lagoa previously served as a justice on the Florida Supreme Court.

Mark Levin zeroed in on three names, one of whom is not a woman: Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), Barrett, and Rushing.

China is using images of TikTok users to improve its facial recognition capacities, according to American lawmakers and analysts monitoring the unfolding dispute over the social media giant’s U.S. operations. “TikTok is a massive repository of data,” Foundation for Defense of Democracies analyst Emily de la Bruyere, an expert in the links between China’s military apparatus and commercial entities, said of the social media platform. “Facial recognition … is a big part of it.” That concern has contributed to the U.S. hostility to TikTok, which will be expelled from American app stores next week pursuant to a Commerce Department order unveiled Friday. The app, widely popular as a platform for short videos, has the ability to collect precious bulk data to power technological developments with both national security and economic ramifications. “It’s a lot of data that is tagged on shapes and styles of faces that the Chinese government can’t get in the mainland,” Texas Rep. Will Hurd, a Republican member of the House Intelligence Committee, told the Center for Strategic and International Studies in a conversation recorded last week and aired Thursday. “So, all these things are connected.” Such a cache of facial data could have economic and geopolitical value, as Chinese entities could learn to profile populations and socioeconomic groups. “They're figuring out what people who look a certain way want to do with their app, and then, they can improve their pitch to you,” the American Enterprise Institute’s Derek Scissors explained. “‘We have a pattern between your facial structure — which, of course, includes your age, your gender, so on — and what you like to look at, and that's going to help us give you the videos you want to look at, which makes us more competitive.’”

That’s a competition that companies and governments in democratic societies can ill-afford to lose, given that “data will be the fuel of tomorrow,” as a top NATO commander put it earlier this year, powering the development of cutting-edge technologies made possible by the advent of ultra-high-speed, next-generation wireless technology and artificial intelligence. “TikTok is also collecting data on how humans interact with information with visual stimuli, how faces respond to that,” de la Bruyere said. “What sort of things are captivating to like the human imagination or interest, and what's going to keep your attention? So it's not just the facial recognition for us. It's also immense collection of data on human behavior and potential.” The ability to profile such large population groups could create significant opportunities for Chinese propaganda campaigns and influence operations, even election interference. “And Chinese intelligence is certainly sophisticated enough to say, 'I want to target middle-aged white people in swing-state Wisconsin,” Scissors said. The availability of American data to Chinese entities is all the more troublesome given that Beijing already has greater access to data than Western companies do because the authoritarian regime lacks the privacy protections that exist in democratic societies. “It's basically taking something valuable from the United States, commoditizing it, and selling it,” Scissors said. President Trump issued an order requiring TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, to sell its U.S. operations to an American entity by Sunday. The company has resisted that proposal, in part to protect from U.S. custody the algorithms developed and improved with the assistance of the data provided by the roughly 100 million American users of the app, and countered by offering to partner with an American company as a “trusted technology provider” while retaining a majority-Chinese ownership, but that proposal has drawn skepticism from Trump and China hawks. “If we hold American firms to a certain standard on data extraction, and the Chinese can just ignore that, we’re saying to China, ‘Why don't you start three steps up the ladder? And we’ll try to catch you,’” Scissors said.

JUPITER, Fla. — Over the course of this Covid-19 ordeal, a number of outlandish conspiracy

theories have emerged that the virus was produced in a Chinese, Canadian, or American lab.

Conspiracy theories have become an increasingly common part of everyday life in recent

years, but a new study on Covid-19’s origins is disproving this theory. A team of

international researchers have concluded that the novel coronavirus has entirely natural

origins through evolution.

Public genome sequence data on Covid-19, as well as similar viruses, was extensively

analyzed for this study. The results show absolutely no indication that the virus was

produced artificially or in a lab setting.

“By comparing the available genome sequence data for known coronavirus strains, we can

firmly determine that SARS-CoV-2 originated through natural processes,” comments co-author

Kristian Andersen, PhD, an associate professor of immunology and microbiology at Scripps

Research, in a release.

Researchers from Columbia University, the University of Edinburgh, and the University of

Sydney also worked on this project.

Coronaviruses in general are nothing new. The two most recent examples of a new coronavirus

popping up are the SARS outbreak in Asia around 2003 and MERS in the Middle East in 2012.

This new strain, largely being referred to as Covid-19, was only brought to the WHO’s

attention on New Year’s Eve 2019…

…It was this genetic template that allowed the study’s authors to investigate the virus'

origins. They discovered that Covid-19’s receptor-binding domain (RBD), a kind of “grappling

hook” that attaches itself to host cells, had evolved to target a specific molecular feature

of human cells. That feature is called ACE2, and it is a receptor involved in maintaining

regular blood pressure. The research team believe this development was the work of natural

selection, not some type of genetic engineering.

Why? The virus appears to be so efficient at its newly evolved skill, that it is essentially

impossible that modern science could have created such a monstrosity.

Additionally, if some nefarious entity were really attempting to create a deadly virus, they

would have based it off of a known illness-causing virus. Researchers say that Covid-19’s

molecular structure is quite different from previous coronaviruses, and more closely mimics

viruses found in bats and pangolins…

…“It is crucially important to bring an evidence-based view to the rumors that have been

circulating about the origins of the virus (SARS-CoV-2) causing COVID-19,” adds Josie

Golding, PhD, epidemics lead at UK-based Wellcome Trust. “They conclude that the virus is

the product of natural evolution, ending any speculation about deliberate genetic

engineering.”

So, what are Covid-19’s true origins? Two main theories. The first

is that the virus evolved pathogenically through natural selection within a non-human host

and then made the jump to people. If this was the case, it’s likely that the virus evolved

within bats, made the jump to an intermediary host, and then was passed onto a human.

The second theory is that the virus was largely non-pathogenic before making the transition

to humans, and only evolved into it’s current deadly form within the human population.

At this point, researchers believe it’s nearly impossible to determine which of the two

scenarios occurred. That being said, we should all hope for scenario two. If the novel

coronavirus did in fact transfer over to humans already in its fully evolved pathogenic

form, that would raise the chances of further outbreaks in the future.

What do they know? Do they already know who you are? Where you shop? What food you buy?

I will tell you how your revolution will end. You will pull out a half gallon of the same brand of milk you buy ever week at the same corner store, selected according to expiration date. You will take a glass of it to the TV, months before the revolution begins. You will drink it, and the carcinogen put in it will give you a fast moving cancer that will hit just before the revolution begins. How did it get there?

They had already ID’d you as a problem, documented how you bought all your food, figured out when you bought everything, and just before you arrived at the store, a woman pulled a custom made half gallon of your favorite brand of milk, with a super far-off expiration date, out of her over-sized purse and put it on the shelf. And just as she did, in the front door you walked.

You have some learning to do, if you ever want to be dangerous, and capable of protecting freedom. It is OK, I have prepared your starter courses at the bottom of this blog.

It turns out discovering the biggest advance in perhaps the entire history of Political Science was just the beginning of my adventure. Under the Obama regime, the surveillance state quickly identified me and closed in to get on top of me. It became a major topic of this blog, starting long before President Donald Trump found himself buried beneath a massive illegal surveillance operation.

As I began researching it, I found I was not the first person. From Free Republic to 4Chan, telling people you are under surveillance will, from a surprising number of people, elicit an unfazed, “You too? Welcome to the club!” We are our own not-so-secret club.

For decades, people apparently have been running into the same operations on all sorts of Americans, many for seemingly no reason. This operation has grown to the point it now runs coverage, neighborhood by neighborhood, assigning embedded neighborhood informants, living in each neighborhood, to amass files on every American, watching each closely for short periods on regular schedules, using professional intelligence operations and high-end surveillance technology. Today, from what I have seen, I believe even the children of the people in this operation are running surveillance on fellow students in their schools, beginning every American’s file before they are even into their teens.

There is only 0ne agency which runs children in surveillance operations, with parental consent – the CIA. Make of that what you will. Is it CIA? Or is this a private sector, unofficial network? I have no idea.

What you will find here is the archive of my writings on real-world examples of surveillance detection and how the modern surveillance team works and looks. I do not proffer these pages to you lightly. In the immediate term, I will get hit in my house with directed energy weapons, waking me up when I sleep because I offer this resistance to these operations. In the longer term, I will likely end up the Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn of the West, exiled from my homeland and allying with Russia and her intelligence services against the biggest enemy of my nation and her Constitution, her own domestic intelligence services that have been corrupted by Cabal and turned on their fellow Americans. That is, if I am not dead form cancer in the near term.

The Democratic Party line treats voter fraud as little more than a GOP fever dream — yet the party’s presidential candidate Joe Biden spent decades of his career sounding the alarm about it. Biden, the Democratic standard bearer, consistently shared GOP concerns about voter fraud during his 36 years as a United States senator from Delaware. “Should Voters Be Allowed To Register On Election Day? No,” Biden wrote in an op-ed to a now-defunct Wilmington, Del. newspaper in 1977. He even chided President Carter for proposing it. A “reservation I have and one that is apparently shared by some of the top officials within the Department of Justice is that the president’s proposal could lead to a serious increase in vote fraud,” Biden wrote. He has since reversed course. In an internet conversation with 2020 running mate Sen. Kamala Harris this month, Biden said, “When you and I get elected, God willing, we’re going to push hard to make voting, Election Day, a national holiday so people don’t have to take off work. There should be same-day registration.”

Voter fraud has become an increasingly partisan issue in recent years. Republicans have warned that mail-in ballots, same-day registration and lack of voter ID laws create ripe opportunities for liberal mischief. Democrats counter that efforts to curb those things are part of a larger plot by the GOP to suppress voting from poor and minority communities, core Democratic constituencies. “Voter fraud is, by and large, a myth,” said Georgia Democrat and one-time veep candidate Stacey Abrams in April. Sen. Bernie Sanders has called President Trump’s warnings of coming fraud “delusional.” DNC boss Tom Perez has mocked that “you have a better chance of getting struck by lightning” than finding it. Biden has derided White House fears of mail-in ballot fraud as “unfounded,” despite evidence of how easily mailed votes can be tampered with. “He’s already trying to undermine the election with false claims of voter fraud and threatening to block essential COVID assistance if any extra funds go to the U.S. Postal Service,” the former vice president claimed about Trump during an April online fundraiser. “What in God’s name was that about other than trying to … make it very hard for people to vote.”

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Biden worked closely with now-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to stiffen penalties for voter fraud. In 1988 — the same year his son’s drug record was being expunged — Biden introduced the “Anti-Corruption Act,” which McConnell co-sponsored. The bill would have enacted penalties for anyone who deprived anyone of “a fair and impartially conducted election process through the use of fraudulent ballots or voter registration forms or the filing of fraudulent campaign reports.” Biden and McConnell tried again in 1989. Sen. Strom Thurmond was also a co-sponsor of the bill. “Current law does not permit prosecution of election fraud … This bill makes it a federal offense to corrupt any state or local election process,” Biden argued on the Senate floor. McConnell noted in his own floor assessment that it would “raise the maximum penalty for both election fraud and public corruption to 10 years in federal prison and a $10,000 fine.” The 1989 version also died as a standalone bill. Undeterred, Biden tried to shoehorn the voter fraud elements into the Federal Crime Control Act, in 1989 and the National Drug Control Strategy Act of 1990 — they went nowhere. When Biden introduced the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1993, McConnell — his faithful partner on the effort — snuck in voter fraud provisions as an amendment. But the bill died. McConnell introduced the act on his own in 1995 without Biden’s participation — it died again. By the time he served as vice president to Barack Obama, Biden had fully, and publicly, abandoned his former views. “Why, without any proof of voter fraud, have 81 bills been introduced in state legislative bodies … to make it harder for people to vote,” Biden asked an audience at South Carolina’s Allen University in 2014.

BlackRock : Fed Hires BlackRock to Help Calm Markets. Its ETF Business Wins Big

The Federal Reserve's March commitment to deploy billions of dollars to prop up the economy was a boon for the company the Fed hired to help execute its plan: BlackRock Inc., the world's largest asset manager. In response to the pandemic-induced market collapse, the Fed promised to buy corporate bonds and exchange-traded funds that invest in collections of corporate debt. The Fed had never bought ETFs or corporate bonds before. The central bank tapped BlackRock to help advise it and buy the bonds and funds on its behalf, though the central bank retained ultimate authority over what to purchase. The Fed's interventions worked as designed, stoking investor confidence and restoring market function – even before the central bank had bought anything at all. But one side effect was that many of the funds investors poured into were BlackRock's own, making the giant firm an even bigger player in the exchange-traded-fund market. In the days after the Fed's announcement on March 23, traders jockeyed to figure out what funds the central bank might buy, and bought those funds themselves.

BlackRock's share of assets increased in 27 funds Morningstar Inc. analysts deemed potentially eligible for the Fed program. BlackRock's share grew from 51% on March 20 to about 56% on July 23, when the Fed last bought ETFs, according to Morningstar. The funds the Fed ultimately did buy became even more popular with investors, who put $48 billion into them in the first half of 2020, nearly twice the amount that went in the year before. BlackRock funds were especially popular: They took in $34 billion, about 160% more than in the first half of 2019. "The unprecedented actions taken by the Fed during Covid-19 just accelerated the trend where the biggest products get bigger," said Linda Zhang, chief executive of Purview Investments in New York.

A $7.3 trillion asset manager run by CEO Laurence Fink, BlackRock was already the largest provider of these kinds of ETFs, which are commonly used by big institutions to enter and exit markets cheaply. BlackRock President Robert Kapito said that the firm's gains were neither outsize nor surprising.He said the firm's most actively traded corporate bond ETFs draw institutions seeking rapid exposure to markets. This means its market share expands in periods when investors are more likely to take risks and contracts when they become more risk averse, he said. "The success we've seen in recent years is the result of our strategic investments into the business over time," he said. "We've repeatedly gained market share during periods when these investors increase their risk exposure."BlackRock's advisory arm aiding the Fed is separate from BlackRock's asset-management arm, which runs its ETF business. The firm will receive modest compensation for its role assisting the Fed – a roughly $3 million fee for the six months ending Sept. 30, and $750,000 per quarter thereafter, according to BlackRock's contract with the Fed. BlackRock will also collect fees on the small corporate bond portfolio it manages for the Fed. BlackRock isn't charging any fees on ETFs and is rebating fees from its own iShares ETFs back to the Fed. The central bank limited the amount of BlackRock ETFs it would buy. Of the 16 ETFs the Fed ultimately purchased, eight were BlackRock's iShares funds. BlackRock, Vanguard Group and State Street Global Advisors made up 99% of the Fed's ETF portfolio, valued at $8.7 billion as of August. Two remaining funds were managed by smaller competitors DWS and VanEck. The thaw in markets meant the Fed only spent about $13 billion of the up to $750 billion it had designated for corporate-bond and ETF buying.While BlackRock is set to earn a relative pittance from the Fed, it made millions in fees from other investors. "Even if BlackRock waives its fees from the purchases that the Fed is making, the fact that it is associated with this program means that other investors are going to rush into BlackRock funds," said Bharat Ramamurti, a member of the congressional body overseeing the Fed's coronavirus stimulus programs, who also worked for Elizabeth Warren's presidential campaign. "BlackRock obviously generates fees from those flows. So the net result is that this is very lucrative for BlackRock," Mr. Ramamurti said. BlackRock's popular ETF that trades under the ticker LQD saw $8.2 billion of inflows in the first seven trading days after the Fed's March announcement, Morningstar estimates show. The Fed didn't start buying any funds until May. BlackRock charges 0.14% in fees for LQD, or $14 for every $10,000 invested.
