Daniel Andrews has set up a so-called 'ring of steel' around Melbourne to stop residents heading to regional Victoria where coronavirus restrictions have been finally relaxed.

Although there are no actual fences, police will use checkpoints at major highways, automatic number plate recognition and extra patrols at bus and train stations to catch city dwellers trying to escape strict lockdown.

Five million Melbourne residents, who are stuck in one of the world's longest lockdowns, will be slapped with a $4,957 fine for breaching public health rules if they dare to leave.

The isolation of Australia's second biggest city is similar to the lockdown of Wuhan, the Chinese metropolis of nine million where coronavirus was identified late last year.

Wuhan was shut down on 23 January as all flights, trains and buses in and out were cancelled and steel fences were set up outside apartment buildings to keep residents in their homes.

The lockdown was lifted in April after 11 weeks, four weeks fewer than Melbourne's shutdown is due to last.

It comes as Victoria recorded only 28 new cases of coronavirus on Thursday - its lowest daily total since 24 June.

Officers say they will check cars with caravans and fishing rods as well as increase patrols at camp sites and national parks to catch any city residents who have escaped.

There will also be increased checks at popular holiday destinations such as the Mornington Peninsula where many well-heeled Melburnians have second homes.

On Wednesday major checkpoints were set up on the Princes Freeway at Little River heading to Geelong and the Calder Freeway near Sunbury on the way to Bendigo.

Premier Andrews is desperate to stop coronavirus spreading from Melbourne to the regions, which have suffered significantly fewer case numbers and were removed from lockdown on Wednesday night.

He said: 'Whether you want to call it a ring of steel or a border or whatever the term, the key aim is very simple: only those who have to go to regional Victoria and have a lawful reason to go to regional Victoria can go to regional Victoria.

'We've got to be inflexible on this.'

He added: 'The police are not mucking about. If you are from Melbourne and you are in regional Victoria and do not have an appropriate excuse, you will be fined.

'Victorians have given a lot but we need to guard the low numbers in regional Victoria.

'Anyone who thinks they might take a punt on heading to regional Victoria and not getting caught, I think your odds are very poor.'

Skarlatos has backing from top Washington Republicans like House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Sens. Tom Cotton and Ted Cruz

Alex Skarlatos, the Army National Guard veteran who helped stop a 2015 terror attack on a Paris-bound train, is now taking on the challenge of trying to unseat long-time Oregon Democratic Rep. Peter DeFazio.

DeFazio has held the seat in the state’s 4th congressional district for 33 years, but the race, just weeks before Election Day, shows signs of being competitive.

The 27-year-old Skarlatos has effectively matched DeFazio in fundraising numbers – $ 1.3 million to $1.7 million, according to the most recent federal filings. And in the 2016 presidential race, Democrat Hillary Clinton barely defeated President Trump in the district, which suggests a similar number of Republican and Democratic voters.

“So in this way, Skarlatos is running in a district where he at least has a chance, but going against an incumbent is an uphill battle," Oregon State University political science professor Christopher Stout recently told local ABC News affiliate KEZI-9.

Skarlatos also has exceptional name recognition for a first-time candidate, having played himself in the 2018 Clint Eastwood film “The 15:17 to Paris.”

The film depicts the attempted attack on the Amsterdam-to-Paris train in which Skarlatos and three others overpowered an armed terrorist. Skarlatos, who as a guardsman was deployed in Afghanistan, was also a contestant on "Dancing with the Stars.”

Skarlatos recently told FoxNation that his rural district has suffered economically since the timber industry went away and that “the incumbent Democrat is not doing anything to help us.”

Amid months of violent protests led by liberal-leaning groups in Portland that have destroyed businesses and government property, and have been connected to at least one fatal shooting, Skarlatos has tried to portray DeFazio as a moderate turned progressive.

“I’m running for Congress because it's time we have someone who will stand with southern Oregon – the loggers, veterans, moms, dads and families trying to make ends meet,” says Skarlatos, who has endorsement from top Washington Republicans including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Sens. Tom Cotton, Arkansas, and Ted Cruz, Texas.

The DeFazio campaign rejects the argument that the candidate has moved to the left and supports the defunding of police departments, as many of those leading protests against police brutality have demanded.

“Congressman Peter DeFazio is as Independent as Oregon,” the campaign told KEZI-9. “He’s taken on Wall Street, big drug companies, and special interests – to stand up for working people and expand affordable healthcare. DeFazio has always fought to tip the scales back in favor of hard-working Oregonians.”

Jerry Harris of the Netflix show “Cheer” has been arrested on production of child pornography charges, the U.S. Attorney’s office in Chicago said Thursday.

Harris allegedly asked for pornographic images and videos from two 14-year-old boys, according to the complaint filed Thursday. The boys’ parent found the photos and videos on one of the teen’s phones, the complaint stated.

One of the teens, between December 2018 and March 2020, allegedly sent Harris more than a dozen photos and videos depicting the minor’s private areas. Harris allegedly sent similar photos and videos back, the complaint stated.

In one in-person encounter, Harris allegedly solicited oral sex from one of the teens in a bathroom at a cheerleading event they attended, the complaint stated.

USA Today reported FBI agents executed a search warrant Monday afternoon at a home in Naperville as part of the investigation.

Harris gained national prominence when he was featured in Netflix’s “Cheer” docuseries.

USA Today reported the criminal investigation is based on allegations reported separately to police by Varsity Brands, a private company that dominates the cheerleading industry and handles everything from uniform sales to major competitions. In Aug. 1 letters to police in Florida and Texas, Varsity’s chief legal officer, Burton Brillhart, said the company learned of “inappropriate sexual conduct” allegations against Harris and reported the information to authorities as required by law.

“As a result of the recent allegation, we have barred this person from having any affiliation with Varsity Brands or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates, now and in the future,” he wrote.

Brillhart’s letters describe Harris as a former employee who was not working for Varsity at the time of the incidents. In May 2019, Harris posted on social media that he was working for the National Cheerleaders Association, a Varsity brand. That summer, he posted photos and videos of himself coaching athletes at NCA camps.

On September 16th, Ukrainian member of parliament Andriy Derkach and former prosecutor Konstantin Kulik continued releasing evidence on the US Democratic party, primarily Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden and their partners in Ukraine.

This time there were fewer “Poroshenko-Biden tapes” and more investigations into how money was stolen.

The main facts that Derkach revealed circulate around how Joe Biden’s son – Hunter Biden managed to acquire $3.5 million.

Derkach and Kulik showed the scheme according to which the gas company Burisma, where the son of the US Vice President Hunter Biden worked, was laundering money.

The money that was in cash in Ukraine was withdrawn to the West under fake contracts and there deposited on the accounts of Burizma in the Latvian subsidiary of Privatbank.

The total amount is approximately $10 million each month in total.

Payments were made from Latvia to Western lobbyists of the owner of Burizma, ex-Minister of Ecology Nikolai Zlochevsky.

In particular, Derkach and Kulik believe, Rosemont Seneca, a company controlled by Hunter Biden, received $3.5 million. Another million euros “fell” to ex-President of Poland Alexander Kwasniewski.

Derkach published the testimonies of a former SBU (Security Service of Ukraine) officer Vitaly Mikhailyuk. He was recommended as a person who worked for the Technova company, which rented a number of thermal power plants in Ukraine.

According to Derkach, its leadership – businessman Anatoly Shkriblyak – agreed on the appointment of “overseers” from former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko’s ally Igor Kononenko. After introducing schemes like Rotterdam +, the group began to make massive profit.

Expensive coal was purchased from South Africa or Pennsylvania, which doubled utility tariffs on paper. In reality, the fuel was purchased from the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics (DPR/LPR) or through Russian firms.

Derkach named Elena Mazurova as one of the managers of this scheme from the people of Kononenko, whom NABU now suspects of giving a bribe for closing a criminal case against the owner of Burizma Zlochevsky.

The bribe itself was in the amount of approximately $6 million, while the total sums are upwards of $50 million.

Separately, Derkach spoke of how American “investment” was provided to re-certify rosecutors under Ruslan Ryaboshapka. The United States allocated $7 million to this end.

Raytheon Technologies (RTX) will cut 15,000 jobs due to the ongoing aviation crisis – nearly double the number of layoffs the aeropace and defense company announced in July.

The job cuts will hit the company’s corporate headquarters in Waltham, Massachusetts, its jet engine-making division Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, Connecticut, and its aviation and military equipment manufacturing unit Collins Aerospace in Charlotte, North Carolina.

During a web conference with Morgan Stanley analysts, Raytheon CEO Greg Hayes said the cuts will reduce Pratt & Whitney’s workforce by 20% while Collins Aerospace’s staff will be trimmed by 12%.

“These cost actions include the elimination of more than 15,000 positions across our commercial aerospace and corporate organizations,” Hayes said.

The moves are part of a plan to cut $2 billion in costs this year.

Hayes warned more cuts might be forthcoming.

“Given the slope of the recovery, I think the folks have taken a more aggressive look at head count, and we’re really pushing through trying to exceed that $2 billion,” Hayes told the Morgan Stanley conference. “We’re going to look for additional savings this year.”

Hayes also emphasized that the process of closing factories and moving production activities will be a long drawn out affair and involve consultations with labor unions.

“We don’t want to screw anything up but we want to make sure that when this pandemic does end whenever that is that we’re actually in a position to have a lower cost structure than when we started,” Hayes said.

"Air travel is likely to lag until such time people have trust, faith, and confidence they can safely travel," Brian Marks, an economics professor at the University of New Haven, was quoted as saying by WFSB in Hartford, Connecticut. "Raytheon's announcement suggesting they may not see a return of the commercial airline aspect of their business until 2023 is not a surprise.”

Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO) told Breitbart News during an exclusive interview on Wednesday that the American people are the “victims” of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) “extortion” of coronavirus aid.

Buck spoke to Breitbart News as Pelosi continues to hold up coronavirus aid to the American people and small businesses suffering from the effects of the pandemic. The speaker’s hardline tactics and unwillingness to negotiate with President Donald Trump and congressional Republicans has led to many coronavirus aid programs such as the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) to languish. Pelosi’s refusal to find a middle ground with the president has led to many rank-and-file Democrats revolting against the House leader.

Buck told Breitbart News that he applauds the president for refusing to give in to Pelosi’s brinksmanship-style negotiations, which he said would lead to leftist carveouts, such as a bailout of California’s pension system.

“I think the strategy is to try to portray the president as unable to lead during this difficult time and get things through Congress, and that is unfortunate because the people who are suffering because the workers and the small business people and the folks are going to have a very difficult time coming back from this,” the Colorado conservative told Breitbart News. “But I applaud the White House on not caving that Nancy Pelosi is making. I think Speaker Pelosi would love to have the California pension system paid off and all kinds of other things. It is just extortion, and, unfortunately, the victims are the American people.”

Pelosi has tried to get another round of coronavirus aid along the lines of her $3 trillion, 1,815-page HEROES Act that contains numerous leftist carveouts, including bailouts of state and local governments, mandatory early voting and mail-in ballots, and elimination of the limitations on the deductions for state and local taxes (SALT). The SALT deduction primarily benefits wealthy, mainly Democrat states.

Buck said that America cannot continue spending itself further into debt and that the country must reopen if it wants to revitalize the country’s economy.

“I think the key is to recognize that we are $30 trillion in debt right now, and we can’t keep going in this direction, and we have to be responsible with how we spend federal dollars. Speaker Pelosi has no desire to be responsible, and I’m not just talking about her freezer of ice cream or her haircuts; she is just unable to stop the spending, and she will bleed this country dry if we don’t draw the line somewhere,” he said.

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Pennsylvania’s highest court gave the Democratic Party a series of victories Thursday, including one allowing repairs to glitches and gray areas in the battleground state’s fledgling mail-in voting law and another that kicked the Green Party’s presidential candidate off the November ballot.

The state Supreme Court, which has a 5-2 Democratic majority, granted the Democratic Party’s request to order a three-day extension of Pennsylvania’s Election Day deadline to count mailed-in ballots. And it ruled that the Green Party’s candidate for president did not strictly follow procedures for getting on the ballot in November and cannot appear on it.

Ballots that are eligible to be counted must be postmarked by the time polls close and be received by county election boards at 5 p.m. on Nov. 6, three days after the Nov. 3 election. Republicans have opposed changing that deadline.

Most states make Election Day the deadline, but 18 states — about half of which backed President Donald Trump in the 2016 election — have a post-Election Day deadline.

The court’s ruling also authorized the use of satellite election offices and drop boxes by counties.

Areas with heavy concentrations of registered Democratic voters, Philadelphia and its heavily populated suburbs, are planning to use satellite election offices and drop boxes to help relieve the pressure from an avalanche of mailed-in ballots expected in the presidential election.

Republicans had sought to outlaw the use of such drop boxes or satellite election offices, saying they are not explicitly authorized under state law.

In a slightly earlier decision Thursday, the high court along the same partisan lines reversed a ruling by a Republican judge in a lower court on the candidacy of Green Party presidential nominee Howie Hawkins.

The court’s two Republicans agreed the Green Party did not meet the law’s requirements, but, in a dissenting opinion, said it might be possible to allow the Green Party to fix it retroactively.

The Hawkins and Biden campaigns did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Democrats have long gone to court to keep Green Party candidates off the ballot, worried that they will siphon otherwise liberal voters in close contests against Republicans in the politically polarized state.

In this case, Democratic party activists challenged what they said were disqualifying irregularities in how the Green Party filed affidavits for the presidential candidate that is supposed to accompany paperwork with at least 5,000 voter signatures to get on the ballot.

A 2019 state law greatly expanded access to mail-in balloting in Pennsylvania and, fueled by concerns over the pandemic, more than 3 million voters are expected to cast ballots by mail in the Nov. 3 election.

That’s more than 10 times the number who voted by mail in Pennsylvania in 2016′s election, when President Donald Trump’s 44,000-vote victory over Democrat Hillary Clinton in Pennsylvania helped propel him to the White House.

Polls show a tight race between Trump and Democrat Joe Biden in Pennsylvania. Losing Pennsylvania could prove fatal to Biden’s chances of defeating Trump. No Democrat has won the presidency without winning Pennsylvania since Harry S. Truman in 1948.

The high court’s rulings come as Gov. Tom Wolf, a Democrat, and the Republican-controlled Legislature are at a stalemate over some of the issues, less than seven weeks before the election.

To a great extent, they are clashing over how to prevent vast numbers of ballots from being discarded and how to head off the specter of a presidential election result hanging in limbo on a drawn-out vote count in Pennsylvania.

The court also upheld the state’s poll-watcher law, which Trump’s campaign had sought to invalidate in federal court.

Under that law, poll watchers — a political party-appointed volunteer who sits inside of a polling place to monitor Election Day activity for perceived irregularities — must be a registered voter from the county.

Republicans say they are unable to must enough poll watchers in Philadelphia, where one in five of Pennsylvania’s Democratic voters live. Democrats charge that lifting the long-standing restriction would open the floodgates to voter intimidation in polling places.

Suspect Arrested in Slaying of 17-Year-Old Staffer of GOP Challenger of Ilhan Omar

On Monday two Lacy Johnson aides were shot standing outside a convenience store when one or more shooters opened fire. It was a drive-by shooting. The 17-year-old staffer later died at the hospital.

Republican Lacy Johnson is running against radical Democrat Ilhan Omar.

The 17-year-old outreach coordinator for Lacy’s campaign, Andre Conley, was killed Monday outside a gas station in north Minneapolis.

Young Andre Conley was the 59th homicide victim in the city this year.

Homicides have spiked in Minneapolis since the George Floyd leftist riots.

According to reports Andre Conley was the city’s 59th homicide victim this year and the ninth homicide victim under 18-years-old.

An eyewitness said Andre Conley was murdered when a green truck pulled up and started shooting. The two GOP staffers were hit in the shooting.

A witness rushed over to Andre to offer aid but a woman told him to not move the body.

Andre lay face down on the pavement while people milled around outside the convenience store.

Now this… A suspect was arrested on Thursday morning.

A suspect was arrested on Thursday morning in connection with the murder of a teenage staffer for Lacy Johnson, the Republican challenger to Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minnesota). The shooting is not believed to be politically motivated.

The suspect was taken into custody after a high speed pursuit, according to the Minneapolis Police Department. Officers attempted to pull them over, but they fled, leading to the car chase which ended with the suspect crashing their vehicle.

In a big announcement this week, the Caribbean nation of Barbados is planning to walk out of the Commonwealth and remove Queen Elizabeth II as the head of state. The Queen is the “constitutional monarch” of Barbados since her independence on 30 November 1966, per the Royal Family’s official website. As the sovereign, she is the personal embodiment of the Barbadian Crown. Although the person of the sovereign is equally shared with 15 other independent countries within the Commonwealth of Nations, each country’s monarchy is separate and legally distinct.

10:18 am EDT: In afternoon testimony, Carey Shenkman, a lawyer and expert on the history of the Espionage Act, laid out what defense attorney Mark Summers called the “incomprehensible and confusing” Espionage Act. Shenkman spoke the repressive political conditions in the United States when the Espionage Act was adopted, with President Woodrow Wilson’s administration suppressing strong opposition to U.S. entry into the First World War.

Many Americans back then still took to heart George Washington’s admonition in his farewell address not to become entangled in Europe affairs–and conflicts. “Why, by interweaving our destiny with that of any part of Europe, entangle our peace and prosperity in the toils of European ambition, rivalship, interest, humor or caprice?,” Washington wrote.

Wilson, an admirer of the Klu Klux Klan, also admired putting people in prison for speech. He tried to get censorship into the Espionage Act but was defeated on that by just one vote in the Senate. In his signing statement on the Act, he said: ““Authority to exercise censorship over the press … is absolutely necessary to the public safety.”

Instead he got a Sedition Act passed that made it a crime to be disloyal to the flag among other symbols of the state. Numerous journalists were prosecuted, not for unauthorized possession and dissemination of defense information, but for urging readers to resist the draft.

Shenkman briefly took the court through various efforts by subsequent administrations to try to indict journalists for publishing classified material. Franklin Roosevelt tried to get the Chicago Tribune prosecuted for information it published about the Battle of Midway; Richard Nixon empaneled a grand jury in Boston to prosecute two New York Times reporters for publishing the Pentagon Papers; Nixon also went after Beacon Press f0r publishing the Senator Mike Gravel edition of the Papers.

Gravel was worried Nixon would prosecute him, for while he had immunity to disclose the classified Papers during a legislative act he was criminally liable for publishing them as a book. Nixon thought better of indicting a sitting senator, given the other problems he was having.

All these and other attempts failed to bring back an indictment because of the inherent conflict the Espionage Act has with the First Amendment–until Julian Assange. Shenkman showed how such attempts at prosecutions always involved the U.S. president and were inherently political–a key point for the defense.

On cross examination, prosecutor Clair Dobbin tried to undermine Shenkman’s impartiality, portraying him as a member of “Mr. Assange’s legal team” when he worked for the late Michael Ratner of the Center for Constitution Rights when Ratner was helping Assange with a UN panel that decided he was being arbitrarily detained in the Ecuador embassy.

BHP on Thursday told the inquiry that representatives of the Banjima traditional owners "raised concerns in the field" ahead of the Section 18 application last October, and also wrote to the WA Government in April saying they were opposed to archaeological sites being damaged.

Section 18 of WA's Aboriginal Heritage Act legalises the destruction of Aboriginal sites, and the state's Aboriginal Affairs Minister Ben Wyatt has since started a review of the act.

BHP's David Bunting said the concerns were first raised when mine planners, heritage staff and traditional owners were in the field discussing the potential heritage impacts ahead of the company's application.

"At that time the traditional owners raised their thoughts on the significance of those sites and also talked about mitigation around those sites," Mr Bunting said.

"You're right that concerns were raised at that time."

However, he added the Banjima representatives said they did not object to the Section 18 application being lodged.

DHS lies again about REAL-ID

As it’s been doing for years, the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is still lying about the state of compliance by states with the Federal REAL-ID Act of 2005.

The latest DHS whopper is this DHS press release issued September 10, 2010:

The DHS claims that “All U.S. States [Are] Now Compliant” with the REAL-ID Act. But as we’ve noted many times before, the REAL-ID Act explicitly and unambiguously requires that to be “compliant”, a state must “Provide electronic access to all other States to information contained in the motor vehicle database of the State.”

How many states do that today? At most, 28, not all 50, as shown in the map below:

The only mechanism available for states that want to share their drivers’ license databases is the outsourced “State to State” (S2S) system operated by the American Association of Motior Vehicle Administators (AAMVA), a private contractor not subject to the Federal or any state Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) or other laws proviidng transparency and accountability for government agencies. Despite the misleading name, S2S is not a mechanism for messaging directly from state to state. It’s a centralized system which depends on a central national ID database, SPEXS, aggregated from state drivers’ license and ID data.

Here’s the latest list released by AAMVA of states that are particpating in S2S. Each particpating state has uploaded information about all drivers’ licenses and state ID to SPEXS. Together these 28 states include substantially less than half the U.S. population:

The Netflix star has been arrested on production of child pornography charges, per the U.S. Attorney’s office in Chicago, according to a report by the Chicago Sun-Times. A criminal complaint filed on Thursday alleges that Harris had asked for pornographic images and videos from two 14-year-old boys, adding that the boys’ parents found the photos and videos on one of the child’s phones.

“Law enforcement was recently contacted by the parent (Individual A) of two 14 year old male children (Minors 1 and 2) regarding allegations that an individual named Jerry Harris had contacted Minor 1 and Minor 2 online and repeatedly solicited child pornography images and videos from Minors 1 and 2,” read the complaint.

“Minor 1 stated that between December 2018 when Harris first contacted him online, and March 2020 when Minor 1 stopped speaking to Harris, at Harris’ request, Minor 1 had sent Harris over a dozen photographs and videos of Minor 1 depicting Minor 1’s penis and anus,” the affidavit continued. “Minor 1 stated that Harris sent Minor 1 photographs of HARRIS’ penis, as well as videos of HARRIS masturbating. Minor 1 informed Harris that he was 13 years old in their initial online encounter.”

The affidavit further stated that the underage teen reported “one in-person encounter” between Harris and the minor, in which the Netflix star “solicited oral sex from Minor 1 in a bathroom at a cheerleading event both Harris and Minor 1 attended.”

“Minor 1 also reported a second attempt by HARRIS to meet Minor 1 for an in-person sexual encounter when Minor 1 was at a cheer competition that HARRIS also attended,” the complaint read.

The affidavit also states that Harris admitted to asking one of the underage teens to take photos and videos of his “penis and buttocks and to send the photos and videos to Harris through Snapchat, knowing that [the minor] was 13 years old.”

“Harris further admitted to engaging in ongoing Snapchat conversations with [the minor] beginning in December 2018 and continuing through March 2020,” continued the complaint, adding that the Netflix star “acknowledged to law enforcement that he in fact received such photos and videos” from the underage teen.

A 39-year-old man allegedly part of a child sex ring which “passed around” a two-year-old girl in exchange for drugs has been charged with 104 offences including bestiality with dogs and child rape.

The former Townsville child care worker’s alleged victims included children at the child care centre where he worked, his own children and siblings.

He also allegedly drugged and raped the children of drug-addicted women he met through online dating sites, according to the Townsville Bulletin.

His alleged victims were aged from babies up to 16-year-olds plus one adult, and his alleged crimes date from 1995 – when he was in his mid-teens – up to his arrest in July this year.

Police also charged the man, who comes from Townsville suburb of Pimlico, with four charges of bestiality, drug charges, indecent treatment and the production of child pornography.

Townsville Child Protection and Investigation Unit officer-in-charge Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Miles said the man allegedly sought out “vulnerable” women via dating sites to take advantage of their children.

Police will allege he gained the trust of the women, before he drugged and raped their children.

Detective Miles said he also allegedly used one of the woman’s dogs in some of the sexual acts.

Pizzagate

This conspiracy theory was a precursor to QAnon, but it has recently regained momentum and become intertwined with QAnon.

Originating during the 2016 presidential campaign, this falsehood claimed that emails exposed by Wikileaks showed Democrats with ties to Hillary Clinton had been running a child-sex ring from the basement of a Washington, D.C. pizzeria.

None of it was true, but that didn't stop a North Carolina man from traveling to D.C. to investigate the matter for himself. He fired his rifle in the restaurant before he was arrested and later imprisoned. No one was injured.

The Deep State

A common claim among QAnon conspiracists is that a shadowy network of politicians and bureaucrats secretly collaborate to control the government behind the scenes.

While this claim takes many forms, it generally centers on the suggestion that a cabal of powerful elites is manipulating the world.

For some, the fantasy of a Deep State is a pillar of their belief system regarding government, business and entertainment.

Trump himself has promoted the concept many times, including most recently to assert that a "deep state, or whoever,"at the Food and Drug Administration was "making it very difficult for drug companies to get people in order to test the vaccines and therapeutics" for COVID-19.

A man in Wisconsin recently discovered an animal brain wrapped in aluminum foil while searching for sea glass along Lake Michigan.

James Senda revealed to local station Fox6 that he discovered the brain at Myers Park in Racine County on Tuesday morning. The brain was wrapped up alongside a flower and paper bearing a foreign language, which appeared to be money.

"I don't really know how to explain it, it didn't register … I was just like, 'What is this? I came across this square package, wrapped in aluminum foil, and around it, it had a pink rubber band,” Senda told the station.

"Curiosity got to me, so I popped it open and it looked like a chicken breast - kind of. It took a little bit for it to really [register] of what was going on; it was a brain,” he added.

Senda was so surprised by his discovery, he even asked some nearby city employees on the beach for their opinion.

“They’re like, ‘Yeah, that’s a brain,’” he recalled.

"I'm personally glad I'm the one that found it instead of somebody else," Senda told local outlet CBS58. “There's kids that play here. I mean, I mentally can take it, I can handle it. But who knows some people may not be able to handle it like I did."

Senda called the police to inform them of his bizarre discovery.

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's office later confirmed that the brain does not belong to a human but rather to an animal. However, it has yet to determine what type of animal the brain came from.

James Lee Carr Identified, Arrested for Allegedly Shooting Federal Officer

Sixty-eight-year-old James Lee Carr was arrested Wednesday afternoon for allegedly firing the shots that wounded a security officer outside a federal courthouse in Phoenix, Arizona.

Fox 10 Phoenix reports the car in the photo was gray Cadillac allegedly driving by Carr.

The suspect was described as “wearing a full-brimmed hat, driving a silver Cadillac sedan westbound on Washington Street on the north side of the courthouse,” when he allegedly opened fire on a courthouse security guard who was inspecting a UPS truck before allowing it to enter the courthouse gate.

Carr allegedly fired a handgun, hitting the officer in his bullet-proof vest. The officer returned fire, striking the Cadillac roughly eight times.

Carr fled the scene and, a short time later, allegedly called his brother and confessed that he had carried out the shooting. AZ Central reports Carr allegedly told his brother “he wanted to die because he shot the security guard.”

After the confession Carr’s brother, son, and ex-wife went and located him at Verde Park with a rifle and revolver allegedly lying beside him. The son took away the guns and the ex-wife called 911 to report Carr’s location.

Police took Carr into custody and tested his left hand for firearm residue. As they did, Carr allegedly said, “That’s not the hand I shot with.”

ABC 15 reports that Carr’s ex-wife’s nephew described him as someone who “wasn’t a violent guy…[but] suffered from mental illness.”

Phoenix city councilman Sal DiCiccio posted a tweet suggesting Carr was a Black Lives Matter supporter, but Carr’s nephew denied the allegation and contended his actions had “nothing to do with Black Lives Matter or anything like that.”

The Department of Education has informed Princeton University that it is under investigation following the school president's declaration that racism was "embedded" in the institution.

President Christopher Eisgruber published an open letter earlier this month claiming that "racism and the damage it does to people of color persist at Princeton" and that "racist assumptions" are "embedded in structures of the University itself."

According to a letter the Department of Education sent to Princeton that was obtained by the Washington Examiner, such an admission from Eisgruber raises concerns that Princeton has been receiving tens of millions of dollars of federal funds in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which declares that "no person in the United States shall, on the ground of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance."

Fed Releases Scenarios For Second Bank Stress Test, May Extend Dividend, Buyback Limits

Moments ago the Fed announced two "hypothetical" scenarios for a second round of bank stress tests which will be held this year and whose results will be unveiled by the end of the year, marking the first time the Fed has examined banks more than once in a single year. The exams will show how lenders would be impacted by unemployment spiking as high as 12.5%, or well above the post Covid-shock level it’s at today. More importantly, the Fed also said that is considering extending the constraints on dividend payments and share buybacks imposed on US banks into the fourth quarter.

The Fed said it will decide whether to prolong the limits, which are scheduled to expire on Sept 30, by the end of September. Naturally, any extension through the end of the year would disappoint banks, as JPMorgan has already indicated it might resume buybacks in the fourth quarter if allowed to by regulators. On the other hand, cynics view the combination of unprecedented 2nd stress test and reappraisal of shareholder friendly activity as a smokescreen that will give the Fed a chance to announce an all clear, and having covered its back, it will then greenlight a return to normal buyback and dividend activity which was limited in June when it restricted banks from increasing their investor payouts above second-quarter levels and banning all buybacks.

In June, following pressure from lawmakers who argued banks shouldn’t be paying dividends during a pandemic, the Fed released the results of its first stress test which found that all large banks were sufficiently capitalized but in light of the heightened economic uncertainty, the Fed required banks to take several actions to preserve their capital levels in the third quarter of this year.

The Fed also said that as part of the second stress test, large banks would be tested against two scenarios featuring severe recessions to assess their resiliency under a range of outcomes. The stress tests will help to ensure "that large banks are able to lend to households and businesses even in a severe recession."

The test will evaluate the resilience of large banks by estimating their loan losses and capital levels—which provide a cushion against losses—under hypothetical recession scenarios over nine quarters into the future.

"The Fed's stress tests earlier this year showed the strength of large banks under many different scenarios," Vice Chair Randal K. Quarles said. "Although the economy has improved materially over the last quarter, uncertainty over the course of the next few quarters remains unusually high, and these two additional tests will provide more information on the resiliency of large banks."

The two hypothetical recessions in the scenarios feature severe global downturns with substantial stress in financial markets. The first scenario—the "severely adverse"—features the unemployment rate peaking at 12.5 percent at the end of 2021 and then declining to about 7.5 percent by the end of the scenario. Gross domestic product declines about 3 percent from the third quarter of 2020 through the fourth quarter of 2021. The scenario also features a sharp slowdown abroad.

Judge Bruce Roth set bail this week at $1 million each for Lancaster, Pennsylvania far left rioters.

On Tuesday, Judge Roth hit several protesters in the pocketbook, setting their bail at $1 million each.

Lancaster, Pa., police arrested more than a dozen people and one juvenile after riots broke out about 3 a.m. on Monday, prompting police to fire tear gas to disperse the leftist mobs.

Twelve adults — Jamal Shariff Newman, 24; Barry Jones, 30; Frank Gaston, 43; Yoshua Dwayne Montague, 23; Matthew Modderman, 31; Talia Gessner, 18; Kathryn Patterson, 20; Taylor Enterline, 20; T-Jay Fry, 28; Dylan Davis, 28; Lee Alexander Wise, 29; Jessica Marie Lopez, 32 — face a slew of felony and misdemeanor charges, including arson, riot, institutional vandalism and criminal conspiracy.

But after an outcry from far left radicals and their parents Judge Dennis Reinaker reduced their bail on Thursday.

Reinaker reduced bail to $50,000 or $100,000 depending on the offense.

Politicians and criminal justice advocates alike expressed confusion and anger earlier this week when bail was set at $1 million for protesters facing charges of arson, vandalism and rioting, among others.

Judge Dennis Reinaker on Thursday lowered their bail to $50,000 or $100,000, depending on the individual and what they are accused of. The judge cited public opinion and several of the protesters’ petitions for modification in his decision.

Reinaker acknowledged the $1 million bail was set on the “spur of the moment,” but said “these are all serious matters we are dealing with,” according to a news release from the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office.

Bail was originally set by Magisterial District Judge Bruce Roth.

First Deputy District Attorney Travis Anderson was not opposed to modifying bail, but asked that some protesters receive “substantial monetary bail” to be held responsible for their actions, according to the district attorney’s office.

The Democrat-dominated US House of Representatives has voted for a resolution against terms such as “Chinese virus.” Nothing was said about blaming Russia for everything, or giving additional coronavirus relief to Americans.

Criticizing President Donald Trump for using terms such as “Chinese virus” to refer to the Covid-19-causing pathogen, Democrats insisted his rhetoric has increased “discrimination” against Asian-Americans. Their resolution, sponsored by Rep. Grace Meng (D-New York) all the way back in March, passed on Thursday in a 243-164 vote.

Republicans condemned the resolution as partisan posturing and an attack on the president. Peter Nygard's son fears dad will flee Canada before sex assault investigation is complete

Peter Nygard's son says he fears his father will flee Canada before it's determined whether or not criminal charges can be laid in connection with allegations of sexual assault, leaving no way to bring the fashion mogul back to face his accusers in the future.

CBC News is not using the first name of the man — who is one of Nygard's 10 children — in order to protect the identities of his two brothers, who recently filed a lawsuit claiming Peter Nygard hired a "known sex worker" to have sex with them when they were underage. The son says people could easily identify his brothers if his name is made public.

The 79-year-old fashion designer is under investigation in Canada, the U.S. and the Bahamas for allegations of sex crimes. In February, the FBI raided Nygard's New York headquarters and two grand jury subpoenas have been issued for Nygard company records.

No charges have been laid in any of the investigations and it's not known if any of them are complete. Nygard has consistently denied he has sexually abused anyone, and maintains the allegations are fabrications as part of a conspiracy to malign his reputation.

"It's been really difficult to deal with," Nygard's son said in an exclusive interview with CBC News.

Judge rejects bid to oust Santa Clara County DA from concealed-gun permit corruption case

A court Thursday rejected a defense bid to disqualify Santa Clara County District Attorney Jeff Rosen’s office from prosecuting a corruption case involving concealed-gun permits issued by the sheriff’s office.

Superior Court Judge Eric Geffon handed down the ruling after a hearing in a San Jose courtroom, and soon after denied a defense motion to seal now-public transcripts of the grand jury proceedings in the case.

Joe Wall, attorney for South Bay litigator and political fundraiser Christopher Schumb, argued in a motion filed last month that his client’s friendship past financial support for Rosen — and plans to call on Rosen as a defense witness — posed an insurmountable conflict of interest.

Rosen had repeatedly said the state Attorney General’s office deemed there was no conflict. Ultimately, Geffon sided with deputy attorney general Sharon Loughner — in court to oppose recusal — in deciding that emails illustrating the friendship between Rosen and Schumb were not sufficient grounds to disqualify Rosen’s office.

“I don’t believe the evidence before the court supports a finding of a conflict of interest,” Geffon said.

In court filings, Rosen downplayed his relationship with Schumb. He also stated that he returned $1,500 in campaign contributions from him in August 2019 after his office served a search warrant on Schumb and made him a formal subject of a conspiracy and bribery investigation, that culminated in him being indicted along with three other defendants: sheriff’s Capt. James Jensen, attorney Harpaul Nahal and gun-maker Michael Nichols.

Wall’s disqualification motion was accompanied by a trove of emails between Schumb and Rosen, and sometimes Chief Assistant District Attorney Jay Boyarsky, showing a chummy relationship and references to Schumb’s fundraising for Rosen’s re-election. Rosen did acknowledge 125 personal emails involving Schumb between 2015 and 2019, but noted in his filing that they had one email in 2019, seemingly to indicate their contact had tapered off by the time Schumb came under investigation.

“Thank you and Jill again for opening up your home and hosting a lovely event for my re-election,” Rosen writes to Schumb in a June 29, 2013 email with the subject line “Just Getting Started.” “I appreciate it very much. You’re a good and generous person.” In a May 22, 2016 email, Rosen wrote to Schumb: “Thank you very much for all your advice, counsel support and encouragement. I’m very glad that you’re in my corner.”

As recently as February 2018 — two months before Schumb is alleged to have taken part in the alleged crimes — Rosen was writing to Schumb seeking advice for repairing an heirloom Swiss watch.

“For Mr. Rosen to deny there was a friendship defies logic. It’s absurd,” Wall said in court Thursday. “His role in this case taints our criminal-justice system … All we’re asking for is a fair playing field.”

… Schumb, Nahal, Nichols and Jensen are scheduled to return to court next week to continue their arraignment. All four were indicted on felony conspiracy and bribery charges that allege they plotted with Christian West, former CEO of the executive security firm AS Solution, and AS manager Martin Nielsen to get the firm up to a dozen concealed-carry permits for their agents in exchange for $90,000 in donations to committees supporting Sheriff Laurie Smith and her 2018 re-election campaign.

When the four indicted defendants first appeared in court together Aug. 31, West pleaded guilty to two conspiracy counts, on the agreement they are downgraded to misdemeanors for his cooperation with prosecutors. Nielsen and another AS manager testified before a criminal grand jury that they both were in line for similar consideration.

Judge issues nationwide injunction against Postal Service changes

A judge issued a nationwide injunction to temporarily halt changes to U.S. Postal Service policies that have delayed mail delivery across the country ahead of a presidential election expected to see record numbers of mail-in ballots.

Judge Stanley Bastian, an Obama appointee, called the changes “a politically motivated attack on the efficiency of the Postal Service” that created “a substantial possibility many voters will be disenfranchised,” according to The Associated Press.

Bastian, who is based in Yakima, Wash., concluded that harm to the public "has already taken place" and said the 14 states that sued showed "this attack on the Postal Service is likely to irreparably harm the states’ ability to administer the 2020 general election," The Washington Post reported.

Bastian ruled from the bench Thursday and said he'd release a written order, as requested by states, later Thursday or Friday, according to news reports. The scope and duration of the injunction were not initially clear as the judge said more detail would come in the written order.

The Postal Service endured nationwide criticism after implementing changes in July that many blame for slower mail delivery.

Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, a donor to President Trump, announced the suspension of some changes, like the removal of blue mailboxes and mail processing machines, but other adjustments remained in place, prompting 14 states to sue the administration and the Postal Service.

The states sued to stop the new so-called "leave behind" policy, which instructs trucks to leave facilities promptly whether or not there is more mail to load, according to the AP. The suit also called for election mail to be handled as First Class mail.

The states involved in the suit included swing states like Michigan, Wisconsin and Nevada, as well as Washington, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Mexico, Oregon Rhode Island, Vermont and Virginia. All 14 states have Democratic attorneys general and Washington state Attorney General Bob Ferguson (D), led the group.

The attorneys general argued in the suit, filed last month, that the Postal Service made the modifications without consulting the Postal Regulatory Commission for public comment and advisory opinion. Going before the board is required under federal law.

Dave Partenheimer, a spokesperson for the Postal Service, said the agency is "exploring our legal options."

"While we are exploring our legal options, there should be no doubt that the Postal Service is ready and committed to handle whatever volume of election mail it receives," he said in a statement. "Our number one priority is to deliver election mail on-time."

Lee Moak, the Election Mail Committee chair at the agency, added in a separate statement, "Any suggestion that there is a politically motivated attack on the efficiency of the Postal Service is completely and utterly without merit.”

The injunction comes as a record number of voters are expected to vote by the mail in the 2020 election due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Justice Department attorney Joseph Borson asserted in court that the Postal Service can manage the high volume of expected election mail, saying the previous delays are not occurring anymore, according to the Post. He added the Postal Service hadn't actually made changes with how it manages election mail.

Sniffers are unable to understand sarcasm. The majority of uncensored users on these platforms are lefties and blue check verified. Therefore the topics in the "Trending" lists are the narrative that is being portrayed to us. If you post a picture of CNN reporting the lowest unemployment numbers since 2007 and say "#TrumpIsALoser - CNN's report on the economy proves it." you will pass the sniffing test.

Steps to counter sniffers:

1) Find the article or hashtag that is in the trending narrative.

ex: #TrumpIsALoser

2) RT the item. RTing from an influencer will help boost your reputation score for your profile - calculated by an algo. Do not counter the "narrative" by arguing with what the lefties are saying. Be like an actor from MSM and include in the text of your tweet that appear to agree with the narrative.

ex. #TrumpIsALoser - CNN's report on the economy proves it.

3) Add a red pill image or video. You can even include an image with the 20% box rule.

ex. Include an image from CNN showing "Unemployment Rate Lowest Since May 2007".

Once more and more people do this, it will be extremely resource-expensive to upgrade the sniffers. If they start manually banning users which will be expensive as well, they will likely ban real leftie retweeters as well. This is a win-win.

Newsom signs bill requiring businesses to disclose coronavirus infections

California businesses must disclose infections or exposures to the coronavirus in the workplace after Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill into law Thursday outlining company reporting standards to workers and the state.

Supporters of the bill, AB685, say it is a crucial step in protecting many essential workers still on the job. Opponents say it is not clear when employers have to sound the alarm to workers and what exactly needs to be disclosed.

Newsom also signed SB1159, which establishes a presumption around workers’ compensation eligibility applicable to most California employers with virus outbreaks into 2022, expanding on a previous executive order from the governor.

He also signed SB1383 into law, which allows Californians who work for an employer with five or more employees to use paid family leave benefits without fear of losing their jobs.

“We’ve asked our workers to keep food on the table, food on the shelves, and ensure that other essential services were also provided” during the pandemic said the bill’s author Assemblywoman Eloise Reyes, D-San Bernardino, during a virtual signing ceremony Thursday.

Reyes said state law did not previously require companies to tell workers about confirmed or potential infections at work, something that had largely been left up to the discretion of companies during the pandemic.

“We feel like there's been a lot of information that's been hidden from us,” said Sharon Hechler during the signing, a union grocery store worker of nearly five decades in Southern California.

AB685 goes into effect Jan. 1 and requires employers to tell workers in writing they may have been exposed to the virus and tell them about their options for taking time away from work and other safety steps.

“What's a little confusing about AB685 is the notices to employees,” said Ben Ebbink, a Fisher & Phillips attorney in Sacramento.

The law requires companies to tell their employees about any potential exposure to the virus, particularly those employees at a worksite who may have been exposed to a infected person, along with anyone else who might have been infected.

“Notification has to include all the COVID-related benefits the employee might be entitled to under federal state and local law,” Ebbink said, noting companies also have to inform employees of their disinfection and safety plan.

That might be a particular challenge for small businesses, with localities enacting different rules around safety and sick leave during the pandemic.

“Not every employer has an HR department or legal counsel they can turn to,” Ebbink said.

Companies already must disclose some cases of the coronavirus to local health departments, but that information is not made public. Companies have to report workplace-related injuries to state safety regulator Cal/OSHA, but there has been disagreement on if that applies to cases of the coronavirus.

The state’s Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board is also considering holding employers to stricter rules similar to the state’s aerosolized transmissible disease standard intended to protect health care workers from diseases in the air.

AB685 also requires that businesses notify health authorities if infections become widespread, information that the California Department of Public Health can then make public, potentially with a company name published alongside a notice of infection.

Opponents have criticized that section of the bill as a “name and shame” strategy that will not increase workers safety.

The bill also creates anti-retaliation protections for employees who report infections, to encourage them to come forward.

New voter registrations plummeted during the pandemic in Texas, where you can’t register online

If this were like any other election year, volunteers for MOVE Texas, which works to engage young voters, would’ve been at Mooov-In Day at the University of Texas at Austin, equipped with sign-up sheets, clipboards and fold-out tables, looking to register thousands of young people moving away from home for the first time.

But 2020 is not a normal year.

“All the traditional places are off limits,” said Charlie Bonner, the communications director for the organization. “We’re not deploying any of our organizers to campuses because it’s not responsible.”

The coronavirus has brought widespread concern about how people can vote safely in Texas this November, especially as the state’s elected leaders have resisted the idea of broadening who is eligible to vote by mail. But the state is already seeing one major effect of the pandemic on voting: It’s much harder to register voters.

Forty-one states have passed legislation to allow residents to register to vote online. Texas is not one of them, and the state’s Republican leadership has long fought efforts to allow for an online voter registration process. Voting advocates and local election officials have made do with mail initiatives, avoiding what were once standard in-person initiatives at community events, high school graduations and public squares.

In the first seven months of 2020, new registrations in Texas were down nearly 24% compared with that same time frame in 2016, according to numbers from the nonprofit Center for Election Innovation and Research. In April alone, registrations dropped 70%. Numbers have climbed back up over the summer, but that rebound might not be enough to get the state back to where it could have been, said David Becker, the center’s director.

“We’re not seeing an increase in voter registration activity that compensates for the decrease that we’ve seen in previous months,” he said. “In Texas, there’s still a pretty big overall deficit for the year in terms of new voter registration activity.”

The effects are being felt by both parties. Democrats and Republicans told The Texas Tribune that they’re struggling with voter registration in the era of COVID-19.

… The closure of driver’s license offices might have also played a role. While Texas has turned to online services during the pandemic, the state doesn’t allow residents to register when they renew their driver’s licenses online. And several state offices were closed or opened under a limited capacity as the pandemic worsened. Texas began the process of gradually reopening the driver’s license offices in late May.

In late August, a U.S. district judge found that Texas is “legally obligated” under the National Voter Registration Act to allow voters to simultaneously register to vote if they renew or update their driver’s licenses online. The judge ordered the state to have a system in place by Sept. 23 — less than two weeks before the registration deadline — but that decision could still be appealed.

Currently, Texans who want to register while using the state’s online portal are directed to a blank registration form they must fill out, print and send to their county registrar.
