50 people arrested during mission against sex crimes

A week-long mission against sex crimes in San Joaquin County has resulted in the arrest of 50 people, authorities say.

It was one of the biggest operations against sex crimes in the county, the sheriff’s office says.

The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, with the help of Lathrop Police services, conducted a five-day Sex Crime Operation targeting suspected predators, pimps and people soliciting sex.

In total, 50 people were arrested over the week-long operation. Deputies say 17 men were arrested on suspicion of looking for sexual acts with a child while another 16 people were arrested on charges of soliciting for sex.

Three others were arrested for pimping or pandering, while two others had warrants. One person was also arrested on human trafficking charges.

Representatives from a local women’s center met with the 11 people cited and released for prostitution over the course of the operation. Services are being offered if they were in a human trafficking situation, the sheriff’s office says.

The operation is a sober reminder that predators are still out there, authorities say. Parents are urged to keep an eye on their children’s internet use.

Report: Left Mobilizes for ‘Mass Public Unrest,’ ‘Political Apocalypse’ Expected If Biden Loses

A coalition of leftist groups is “secretly” discussing how to mobilize and prepare for what it envisions as a “political apocalypse” full of violence and chaos if Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden fails to win a landslide victory on November 3, the Daily Beast reported Monday.

“Occupy shit, hold space, and shut things down, not just on Election Day but for weeks,” an unnamed source said in describing the coalition’s effort, dubbed the “Democracy Defense Nerve Center.”

The leftist group, convened by the relatively secret Fight Back Table (FBT), reportedly discussed their plans in secret during a Zoom virtual meeting.

Referring to the meeting, the Daily Beast reported:

Over the course of two hours, participants broached the question of what the progressive political ecosystem can functionally do in a series of election scenarios. They began charting out what it would take to stand up a multi-state communications arm to fight disinformation, a training program for nonviolent civil disobedience, and the underpinnings of what one official described as “mass public unrest.”

An unnamed aide to the Biden campaign told the Daily Beast it is “aware of the concerns expressed by many of these [leftist] groups” that are “actively planning for all contingencies and scenarios.”

Before officials get a chance to tally the votes, the FBT alliance is pushing the Democrat assumption that the election will be illegitimate absent a huge Biden victory.

The leftist coalition is explicitly making preparations to deal with a situation where the “November election ends without a clear outcome or with a Joe Biden win that Donald Trump refuses to recognize,” the Daily Beast noted.

“Inside the coalition, there is [a] dispute over whether Biden should even concede if he wins the popular vote but loses the Electoral College,” the news outlet acknowledged.

In that event, the coalition may take a page from the election “war games” report by the vehemently anti-Trump Transition Integrity Project (TIP), which urges Biden to push Western states, namely California and Oregon, “to secede from the Union” unless their potential demands for reforms — abolishing the Electoral college, dividing California into five states, and statehood for Puerto Rico and D.C. — are met, the Daily Beast indicated.

Secession precipitated the U.S. civil war.

“It’s the hardest scenario,” an unnamed source participating in the FBT discussions said, referring to the possibility of an Electoral College-popular vote split.

“I think both sides are going to fight this till the very end,” the source added.

The coalition is making its post-election plans around the 22-page TIP report, titled “Preventing a Disrupted Presidential Election and Transition.”

Any other scenario, except a Biden landslide, will spark “catastrophe,” including “violence in the streets and a constitutional impasse,” Rosa Brooks, a Georgetown University law professor and co-founder of TIP, wrote in a September 3 editorial for the Washington Post summarizing the report.

Democrats are baselessly promoting the notion that President Donald Trump will refuse to leave office if he loses, calling on their supporters to prepare to mobilize in case that happens.

Police will be encouraged to break up larger groups and issue £100 fines, which will then double on each repeat offence up to £3,200.

Multi-billionaire George Soros has been using his vast wealth at least since 1984 to “build vibrant and tolerant democracies whose governments are accountable to their citizens”, in his words. He has been “credited” or, more accurately, blamed for providing funding for several revolutions in which his preferred people took power. If you are a leftist, of course you might consider this to be a good thing as the groups Soros funds to do his dirty work are invariably leftist, including an enormous chunk of the radical Left here in America. Here are the top 5 revolutions, some ongoing, which have received substantial backing from George Soros.

1. The ‘Bulldozer Revolution’ in Serbia

On October 5, 2000, in the “Bulldozer Revolution“, a movement funded partly by George Soros swept Slobodan Milosevic from power. The LATimes reported on Soros’ role, noting the problems it would cause if he were to get too much credit for his activities. By providing lots of money to already existing but struggling groups that Soros believed to be “pro-democracy”, including the student group Otpor, Soros was able to topple that country’s government.

It’s an accomplishment that Hungarian-born financier George Soros doesn’t flaunt. Bragging about it, after all, could just make his global democracy-building mission more difficult.

But the multibillionaire philanthropist quietly played a key role in the dramatic overthrow last year of President Slobodan Milosevic. His Soros Foundations Network helped finance several pro-democracy groups, including the student organization Otpor, which spearheaded grass-roots resistance to the authoritarian Yugoslav leader.

In a 2003 news conference, Soros owned up to his involvement, not only to the revolt in Yugoslavia but other countries, as well.

“It is necessary to mobilize civil society in order to assure free and fair elections because there are many forces that are determined to falsify or to prevent the elections being free and fair,” Mr. Soros said. “This is what we did in Slovakia at the time of [Vladimir] Meciar, in Croatia at the time of [Franjo] Tudjman and in Yugoslavia at the time of Milosevic.”

In 2004, Richard Poe, in Velvet Revolution, USA, outlined the seven-step strategy used by Soros to topple Milosevic. This strategy, Poe writes, is the same “blueprint” used repeatedly by Soros in other countries: Form a Shadow Government, Control the Airwaves, Bleed the State Dry, Sow Unrest, Provoke an Election Crisis, Take the Streets, and above all, Outlast your Opponent.

2. Georgia’s “Rose Revolution”

After Yugoslavia, Soros set his sights on Georgia. Though he originally backed President Eduard Shevardnadze, when Shevardnadze met with Soros’ disapproval, Soros sought to replace him forthwith in the same manner that he had replaced Milosevic. He prepared for his goal to topple Shevardnadze by sending a young activist to Serbia to be trained by those who had successfully overthrown Milosevic.

[…] [F]unds from his Open Society Institute sent a 31-year-old Tbilisi activist named Giga Bokeria to Serbia to meet with members of the Otpor (Resistance) movement and learn how they used street demonstrations to topple dictator Slobodan Milosevic. Then, in the summer, Mr. Soros’s foundation paid for a return trip to Georgia by Otpor activists, who ran three-day courses teaching more than 1,000 students how to stage a peaceful revolution.

In December, 2003 , the Melbourne Herald-Sun offered a basic overview of George Soros‘ Open Society Institute‘s [OSI] impact in Georgia’s Rose Revolution (Radio Islam):

[…] [Soros] backed Georgia’s former justice minister, Mikhail Saakashvili, and spent some $4 million on a protest movement against the president. His organisations brought in experts in “non-violent revolution” from Serbia, gave $700,000 to an activist group that bussed in protesters, and financed an anti-government TV station and newspaper.

It worked. Last month, protesters smashed into Georgia’s parliament, yelling — probably correctly — that Shevardnadze had stolen the elections a month ago and must quit. Shevardnadze fled, and Saakashvili looks set for leadership.

Georgian Foreign Minister Salomé Zourabichvili told the French journal Hérodote that Soros’ Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) were not only responsible for toppling Shevardnadze, but had subsequently became an integral part of the resulting governmental power structure:

Hobby Lobby is facing new boycott threats over a photo of a store display urging customers to 'Vote Trump'

Hobby Lobby is once again in hot water, this time in response to a now-viral photo — said to have been taken at one of its stores — showing a display of decorative letters that spell out "USA Vote Trump." Several boycott efforts have been made against the company in the past decade in response to its controversial stances in areas such as reproductive rights and, more recently, coronavirus safety policies. "I'm not a fan of Hobby Lobby. I would never shop there," Kari Brekke, the author of a viral tweet sharing the photo, told Business Insider. "I'm a Democrat. I hate the company." Some Twitter users pointed out that a customer may have arranged the letters rather than a store employee. Hobby Lobby did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider.

Shoppers are once again calling for a boycott of Hobby Lobby, the arts-and-crafts company that's no stranger to controversy. The growing #BoycottHobbyLobby effort began picking up steam on social media on Sunday in response to a now-viral tweet shared by a user named Kari Brekke. In the tweet — which has more than 33,000 likes and more than 10,000 retweets — Brekke shared an image with the caption "In a Hobby Lobby" showing a display of decorative letters arranged to read "USA Vote Trump."

Brekke told Business Insider she did not take the photo but rather pulled it from a public post shared in a national Facebook group for the Lincoln Project, an organization started by former Republicans in 2019 dedicated to preventing President Donald Trump's reelection. Brekke said she did not have any additional information regarding who may have arranged the display nor where the photo was taken. Some other Twitter users pointed out that the letters would be free for customers to move around — in other words, a customer rather than an employee may be behind the display.

Hobby Lobby did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider. "I'm not a fan of Hobby Lobby. I would never shop there," Brekke told Business Insider. "I'm a Democrat. I hate the company." Trump supporter takes on Silicon Valley tech giants after doctored video said she was voting for Biden

It was the first time Joan Herbert had made her political views so public. She was nervous but said she was pleased the finished campaign advertisement got her pro-Trump message across so clearly. Sitting in a darkened bedroom, the Pennsylvania mother of four delivered her message without speaking, flipping through a series of cue cards. “I’m afraid to say this out loud,” reads one. “I won’t risk my children’s future with Biden.” But as the Trump campaign ad circulated last month, the congratulatory phone calls from friends quickly turned to confused inquiries about whether she supported President Trump or Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden. “Some people called and asked, 'Which is the real one? Are you really a Biden supporter or a Trump supporter,'” she said.

Within hours of her video hitting social media, it had been picked up by Republican Voters Against Trump and edited to replace her cue cards with words attacking the president and his record. “I voted for Trump in 2016,” one reads. “It was the biggest mistake of my life.” The altered video remains available on Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube despite Herbert’s efforts to have it removed. Its makers insist it is clearly a parody and, therefore, not designed to mislead. The result is a dispute over how best to manage manipulated videos on social media so that users are protected from misinformation while still being able to post commentary and satire. But the Trump campaign said the rules were being applied unfairly and that Herbert was just the latest victim of Silicon Valley’s anti-conservative bias. “Joan Herbert embraced her First Amendment right to express her views in support of President Trump, and in return, the left exploited that expression — and the arbitrary ‘rules’ created by social media companies aren’t helping her fix the issue,” spokeswoman Samantha Zager said in a statement.

In contrast, officials pointed to cases in which the president’s social media accounts appeared to be subject to stricter rules. When he tweeted a parody video of one toddler chasing another with fake CNN chyrons that said, “Terrified todler [sic] runs from racist baby” and “Racist baby probably a Trump voter,” the content was first labeled with a “modified” tag on Twitter before being removed altogether by Twitter and Facebook. Herbert said she was disappointed she had not been able to remove the modified video and said it appeared to show double standards. She is originally from Chennai, India, and took American citizenship three years ago. She raises her four children in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, where her husband works for the Trump campaign. That is how she was approached to take part in a video. “I was really excited because I was able to voice my opinion and because I agreed with the words in the ad,” she said. But her excitement turned to horror when the edited video spread. “I was really sad and disappointed,” she said. “They could have made their own ad instead of using ours. It was really shocking.” Efforts to have the video removed required complicated proof that she was the copyright holder, something she did not have. Twitter told her that “only the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf” could apply to have the video removed. The company did not respond to a request for further comment.

Facebook took a different line, adding that commentary and satire were fair game. “In particular, it appears that the content you reported is being used for the purpose of commentary, criticism or parody,” it said in a message shared with the Washington Examiner. A spokesman for Facebook directed inquiries to its publicly posted policy on manipulated media, which calls on users not to share content that “would likely mislead an average person to believe that a subject of the video said words that they did not say” except in cases of “parody or satire.”

Donald Trump: If Biden Wins, China Wins. It’s as Simple as That

President Donald Trump on Tuesday again warned once again that if Vice President Joe Biden won the election, it would benefit China.

“If Biden wins, China wins. It’s as simple as that,” Trump said, adding that the former vice president was “surrendering our children’s future to countries like China.”

The president spoke during a campaign rally in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on Tuesday evening.

“China wants Joe Biden so badly,” he said.

Trump recalled Biden’s career of passing policies that allowed companies to offshore important jobs, loosen up restrictions on the American borders, and sending Americans into foreign wars.

“I am running for reelection to keep jobs at home, to put violent criminals behind bars and to ensure that the future belongs to America, not China and other countries,” Trump said.

He criticized Biden for supporting bad trade deals such as the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and supported allowing China into the World Trade Organization (WTO).

“For half a century, Joe Biden shook hands with blue-collar workers and then he turned around and immediately stabbed them in the back,” Trump said.

The president warned voters that Biden and his “friends” in Washington destroyed their communities.

“He closed the factories in Baltimore and sent them to Beijing. They were all sent to Beijing … He shuttered the plants in Chicago and sent them to Shanghai.”
