I somewhat agree with this anon. Although the plane was already on fire, it really seems as though it was taking additional firing attacks. I just don't think it was missiles though. But does seem like heavy artillery firing at it.

Silvio Horta, creator of ABC’s popular series “Ugly Betty,” was found dead in a Miami motel room on Tuesday in an apparent suicide. He was 45.

Sources tell Variety that Horta died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A representative for Horta confirmed his death, but declined to comment on the nature of it.

The American version of “Ugly Betty,” which starred America Ferrera, ran for four seasons on ABC from 2006 to 2010 and was adapted from the hit Colombian telenovela “Yo soy Betty, la fea.” Horta served as showrunner and head writer on the comedy-drama.

Ferrera posted on Instagram about his death, saying “His talent and creativity brought me and so many others such joy and light.”

A judge Tuesday rebuffed criminal investigators looking at sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s cushy treatment by South Florida authorities over a dozen years ago.

It happened when special prosecutors appointed by the governor came to the Palm Beach County Courthouse seeking records from a 2006 grand jury that indicted Epstein on a single felony prostitution count.

They said they’d like to know whether the grand jurors ever heard that police had evidence that several minor girls were molested by the financier at his Palm Beach estate.

Not so fast, ruled Chief Circuit Judge Krista Marx, refusing to order the release of the grand jury tapes at this time.

Marx pointed to well-established Florida law that the closed-door grand jury proceedings can be unsealed only as a “last resort,” and when it is clear that doing so will lead to a discovery of wrongdoing.

It’s clear, however, that the Epstein saga remains unending even after his death last summer in a New York City jail cell. Officials said he committed suicide by hanging, rather than face prosecution on new sex trafficking charges.

Epstein’s former attorney Jack Goldberger attended Tuesday’s hearing but did not participate.

Judge Marx told investigators they first need to try other ways of getting the grand jury information, such as asking some of Epstein’s victims if they were asked to testify.

And Marx told prosecutors they have to make more than just a “bare-bones” claim that it is in the “furtherance of justice” to release the grand jury records to them.

“It sounds like a fishing expedition to me,” Marx told Assistant State Attorney M. Levering Evans, of Fort Pierce. She added, “I’m not understanding how it will be helpful and to what end.”

Evans explained that investigators want to figure out how the grand jury — convened by then-State Attorney Barry Krischer’s office — settled on the solicitation of prostitution charge. Was information kept from the panel, and if so, why?

“We are charged with looking simply for crimes,” Evans said of the work being done alongside agents from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

He said the grand jury records could lead to a search for financial documents and the possibility of corruption.

Matt Weissing, an attorney for a Fort Lauderdale-based law firm representing 10 Epstein victims, testified in support of the investigators. He said Epstein’s teenage victims were not paid prostitutes.

“What we’re looking at here is, was there corruption here?” Weissing said of the presentation to the grand jury. “These were schoolchildren who were drawn into this behavior by this billionaire and they were victimized by him over a long period of time.”

Judge Marx, a former prosecutor first elected to the bench in 1998, said there has not been indication of any fraud that would justify the release of the grand jury materials.

“There has not been a scintilla of evidence to suggest corruption,” she said.

The scope of the criminal investigation ordered by Gov. Ron DeSantis goes beyond the original state prosecution and the grand jury.

It also involves checking out “irregularities” concerning Epstein’s deal with federal prosecutors, when he was given immunity from charges concerning attacks on dozens of minor girls, some as young as 14.

In 2008, Epstein pleaded guilty to two state prostitution charges and agreed to an 18-month jail sentence, registered as a sex offender, and promised to reach financial settlements with dozens of victims.

Epstein wound up serving only 13 months at Palm Beach County Jail, with the majority of that time spent in a work-release program.

Records show Epstein was given many special privileges, from an unlocked cell in a special wing of the stockade, to a schedule of six days a week, up to 12 hours per day, at a West Palm Beach office building.

Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, responding to allegations last July that Epstein had sexual relations during his work release, started a criminal investigation. But he then agreed it was best for the state’s law enforcement branch to take control of it.

“Floridians expect and deserve a full and fair investigation,” DeSantis said at the time.

In the past six months, numerous women who say they were victims have filed lawsuits against Epstein’s estate, valued at more than half a billion dollars.

Kenya will next month send its third tea trade mission to Iran in the last four years as it seeks to retain the Tehran market despite mounting challenges resulting from US sanctions.

The director general of Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA) Anthony Muriithi said the Kenyan delegation will head to Iran next month to solidify the Asian market amid sanctions that have nearly made trade between Kenya and Iran impossible.

The mission comes at a time when there are heightened tensions after the US killed an Iranian military commander in a missile strike in the Iraqi capital Baghdad, raising fears of war breaking out in the region.

Iran remains one of the Kenya’s key markets and it pays a premium price for local tea, a move that has seen the country conduct several trade missions in defence of the market.

“Iran remains one of our key markets and the demand for the beverage is still high in that country,” said Mr Muriithi.

In 2017, Kenya sent a delegation to Iran to promote the country’s beverage by seeking more buyers of the commodity. This was followed by another last November.

Because of the sanctions imposed by the US, tea destined to Iran has to pass through a third party country (either in Europe or Dubai), and so are the payments as most banks are scared of trading with Tehran directly for fears of reprisal from the US.

Mr Muriithi said selling tea through a third party was an expensive affair for traders and it would be better if the trade can be done directly.

Kenya’s delegation will be meeting with both government officials and members of the Iranian Tea Association.

Travelex Holdings Ltd., the London-based foreign exchange company, is being held ransom by hackers, forcing the firm to suspend services across 30 countries, according to the BBC.

A ransomware gang called Sodinokibi has told the news site that it is responsible for the hack and is demanding Travelex pay $6 million (4.6 million pounds)

The group, also known as REvil, claims to have gained access to the company’s computer network six months ago and to have downloaded 5GB of sensitive customer data, according to the BBC. They claim to have dates of birth, credit card information and social security numbers in their possession.

Travelex confirmed the discovery of a software virus on Jan. 2, and said in a statement on its website that IT specialists and cybersecurity experts are working to isolate the virus.

“Our investigation to date shows no indication that any personal or customer data has been compromised,” according to the statement. Travelex couldn’t immediately be reached for comment Tuesday.

Was thinking about how hard it would be to place nukes near these DUMBS and had a thought. Do you think they are using tunnel boring machines to drill through the earth and position them below these bases. I really don't see how else they could be doing this consistently and successfully on such a grand scale. Maybe a suitcase nuke smuggled into these bases is enough to cause the suspicious 5.0 plus earthquakes we have been seeing around known DUMBS. I just don't know about nukes and what size it would take. Just a thought.

I've watched the video of the plane explosion a few times now.

We are seeing footage of after it was hit by something. (Even terrorist inside plane?)

The pilot(s) I think had control of the plane as it descended at a landing glide. It is trailing either pieces or fuel as it follows the path.

Towards the end if it was hit by another missle, I've seen others ask why they would do that?

Simple answer: No living witnesses on board. The pilot might have had a decent shot at landing in a field.

Prosecutors have asked an appeal court to increase the jail term for former President Lee Myung-bak to 23 years on charges of bribery and embezzlement, and sought a fine of 32 billion won ($27.3 million).

The Seoul High Court heard appeals from the disgraced president and prosecutors over a lower court’s October 2018 ruling that sentenced Lee to 15 years in prison on convictions of bribery, embezzlement and abuse of power, and ordered him to pay a fine of 13 billion won.

Charges against Lee, president from 2008-2013, include embezzling about 33.9 billion won in slush funds while virtually possessing his brother’s auto parts company DAS and taking bribes of 6.77 billion won from Samsung to cover litigation costs for the firm. Most of the alleged crimes took place while Lee was president from 2008 to 2013 or when he was a candidate before winning the 2007 election.

Prosecutors said the 15-year prison sentence is too light considering the importance of the matter.

“The defendant abused the authority given by the people as a means of pursuing private interests and damaged the constitution,” it said.

t took Malaysian Airlines two months of media prodding before it finally released the full cargo manifest of the disappeared light MH 370. Following the tragedy of flight MH 17 it took just over a day to get the same information. The full manifest is shown below and aside from several live animals including two dogs, five pigeons and five otherwise unidentified live birds and a 9.4kg "shipment of pot", there is little that draws attention. The full tragic list of 283 tragic passengers who passed away was also just released by Malaysian Airlines.

The Philippine government said Wednesday that it has ordered the mandatory evacuation of Filipino workers from Iraq and the coast guard said it is sending a vessel to the Middle East to ferry its citizens to safety in case hostilities between the United States and Iran worsen.

The Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila said the government has raised the alert level in Iraq to the highest level, requiring Filipinos to leave the country due to escalating security risks. Filipinos can leave on their own or escorted out with the help of their employers or the Philippine government.

Other Asian nations with large populations of expatriate labor may face similar decisions after Iran fired missiles at two Iraqi bases housing U.S. forces in a major escalation of hostilities. The strikes were retaliation for last week’s killing of Iran's top general in a U.S. drone attack.

There are an estimated 1,600 Filipinos and their dependents in Iraq, including many who work for U.S. facilities and commercial establishments. President Rodrigo Duterte and top officials have been holding emergency meetings since the weekend to discuss evacuation plans.

Philippine officials were finalizing details of evacuation plans in the increasingly tense Middle East but Manila’s coast guard said a new patrol vessel en route to the Philippines from France has instead been ordered to head to the Middle East in case Filipino workers need to be immediately extricated from any danger. The vessel can ferry up to 500 people at any time.

“In case of conflict, overseas Filipino workers will be brought to safer ports where they may be airlifted, as the need arises,” the coast guard said, adding the Philippine vessel may temporarily dock in Oman or Dubai.

The estimated 7,000 workers in Iran and Iraq are a small fraction of the hundreds of thousands of Filipinos who are employed in countries lining the Persian Gulf.

The Philippines is a leading source of labor worldwide, with about a tenth of its more than 100 million people working abroad mostly as household help, construction workers, sailors and professionals.
