Immunologist: Pfizer, Moderna Vaccines Could Cause Long-Term Chronic Illness

In new research published in Microbiology & Infectious Diseases, immunologist J. Bart Classen warns the mRNA technology used in the Pfizer and Moderna COVID vaccines could create “new potential mechanisms” of adverse events that may take years to come to light.

Back in 1999, leading U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) official Dr. Peter Patriarca contended that modern advances in vaccine technology were rapidly “outpacing researchers’ ability to predict potential vaccine-related adverse events.” Patriarca mused that this could lead to “a situation of unforeseen and unpredictable vaccine outcomes.”

In a new research article published in Microbiology & Infectious Diseases, veteran immunologist J. Bart Classen expresses similar concerns and writes that “RNA-based COVID vaccines have the potential to cause more disease than the epidemic of COVID-19.”

For decades, Classen has published papers exploring how vaccination can give rise to chronic conditions such as Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes — not right away, but three or four years down the road.

In this latest paper, Classen warns that the RNA-based vaccine technology could create “new potential mechanisms” of vaccine adverse events that may take years to come to light.

Classen’s study establishes the potential for the messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccines developed by Pfizer and Moderna to activate human proteins to take on “pathologic configurations” — configurations associated with chronic degenerative neurological diseases. Although his specific interest is in prion diseases (conditions associated with misfolded versions of normal proteins), Classen also outlines a handful of other mechanisms whereby RNA-based vaccines could give rise to “multiple other potential fatal adverse events.”

Ensuring that patients clearly understand risks — including known risks as well as potential unknown risks — is an important component of the informed consent process. This is all the more true when the intervention is experimental and lacks long-term safety data, as is the case with the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines against COVID-19. The FDA authorized the two vaccines for widespread emergency use based on just two months of clinical trial data.

Unfortunately, it is not unusual for researchers’ communication of risks to be perfunctory. In October, researchers at New York University and Tulane reported that the information communicated to participants in the coronavirus clinical trials about a worrisome problem known as pathogenic priming was “sufficiently obscured” as to make “adequate patient comprehension” of risks “unlikely.”

It would be interesting to know what those researchers would say about Classen’s blunt conclusion that “Approving a vaccine, utilizing novel RNA technology without extensive testing is extremely dangerous.”

Those contemplating COVID injections may be ignoring potential risks at their own peril.

The U.S. Capitol Police Labor Union on Monday delivered an "overwhelming vote of No Confidence" on the senior leadership of the U.S. Capitol Police.

The vote comes after the Executive Board of the Capitol Police Union last week called for its members to consider a vote of no confidence following the senior leadership’s mishandling of the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol riots.

The Board said it decided to hold a vote after reviewing the events on and leading up to the events of Jan. 6, which resulted in the deaths of six people and approximately 140 Capitol and Metropolitan Police officers.

Joe Biden Marks 3rd Anniversary of Parkland Shooting with Gun Control Push

President Joe Biden marked February 14, 2021–the third anniversary of the Parkland school shooting–by calling on Congress to pass more gun control.

He used a tweet to recount the heinous attack, writing, “In seconds, the lives of dozens of families, and the life of an American community, was changed forever.”

Biden referenced the “lone gunman [who] took the lives of 14 students and three educators” and also directed attention toward violence in certain cities across America. He suggested singled out the “gun violence disproportionately devastating Black and Brown individuals in our cities.”

He concluded, in part, by writing:

Today, I am calling on Congress to enact commonsense gun law reforms, including requiring background checks on all gun sales, banning assault weapons and high capacity magazines, and eliminating immunity for gun manufacturers who knowingly put weapons of war on our streets.

A number of things needs to be noted.

First, the Parkland shooter acquired his gun “legally,” according to USA Today. That terminology means he went through a background check, so expanding checks from retail alone to retail and private sales would have done nothing to prevent the attack.

Secondly, the Parkland attack was not carried out “in seconds.” Rather, ABC News reported that the gunman had enough time to “[stop] firing five times to reload his” firearm.

In fact, the Atlanta Constitution-Journal reported the length of the attack at “six minutes.”

This means the attacker could have caused mayhem with any size magazine–he could swap empty mags for full ones–because he had time.

When the commission investigating the Parkland shooting put forward its findings, one key suggestion was to enable teachers to be armed so any future, would-be attacker, would not have the benefit of carrying out his evil deeds without armed response. On January 3, 2019, Breitbart News noted that the commission’s report recommended that teachers “who volunteer to undergo firearms training, should be allowed to carry guns.”

But Biden has made clear no federal funds will be used to train teachers to use guns for classroom defense.

Moreover, Biden mentioned the cities where gun violence is surging but did not note that some of the most violent cities already have the controls he wants federally.

For example, South L.A. saw a 742 percent surge in shooting victims during the first 16 days of 2021, although California has universal background checks and “assault weapons” ban.

Confirmed - Biden’s DHS Releasing Border Crossers into U.S. Without Coronavirus Tests

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is not requiring all border crossers to get tested for the Chinese coronavirus before releasing them into the United States, the agency confirmed to Breitbart News.

A DHS spokesperson responded to a question from Breitbart News about whether President Joe Biden supported mandatory coronavirus testing for border crossers released into the U.S. interior.

“As Customs and Border Protection always has, it adjusts resources as needed to meet the demand at the border and regularly screens individuals for signs of health issues when they are encountered, including COVID-19,” the spokesperson told Breitbart News. “Anyone who shows signs of illness receives the appropriate medical treatment.”

The response confirms that untested border crossers are continuing to be released into the U.S. interior as long as they are not exhibiting coronavirus symptoms.

On the other hand, DHS officials have said that migrants enrolled in the now-defunct Remain in Mexico program, set to be released into the U.S. interior this month, will have to undergo coronavirus testing. Internal communications reviewed by Breitbart News, though, show no mentions of this requirement.

“Individuals processed through this program will be tested for COVID-19 before entering the United States,” the administration confirmed.

Most border crossers apprehended and released at the southern border also appear to enjoy a less stringent testing standard that even foreign travelers to the U.S. experience.

Shortly after he was inaugurated, President Joe Biden signed an executive order requiring foreign travelers to the U.S. “to the extent feasible” to produce a negative test for the coronavirus prior to entry and to either isolate or quarantine themselves for several days after they arrive.

This week, Breitbart News reported that 25,600 migrants enrolled in the Remain in Mexico program are to be released into communities in El Paso and Brownsville, Texas, and San Diego, California. The mass release effort comes after Biden ended the program despite its effectiveness in drastically reducing asylum fraud.

Data from the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse at Syracuse University (TRAC) has previously revealed that about 85 percent of asylum cases by Central Americans are rejected and a total of nearly 70,000 migrants were returned to their native countries after not meeting asylum requirements since the program was created.

The TRAC data found that tens of thousands of migrants actually gave up on their asylum cases while they waited in Mexico because they were aware that their claims were not valid. By December 2020, more than 31,000 migrants had left Mexico and returned to their native countries without having their cases heard.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki claimed last week that the U.S.-Mexico border was “not open” during an exchange with Breitbart News even as at least 2,000 border crossers have been released into the U.S. interior between February 1 to 10. Tens of thousands more are expected to be released in the coming months.

Natural Gas Skyrockets Again to $500 as Blackouts Spread in U.S.

Natural gas for physical delivery in the U.S. was trading for as much as $500 per million British thermal units on Monday as demand for the heating and power plant fuel soared amid a deep freeze.

Gas at two hubs in the U.S. Midcontinent was trading at $500 per mmBtu and went for $240 at a third on Monday, according to traders. Spot gas has been trading for hundreds of dollars across the central U.S. since Thursday with a surge in heating demand triggering widespread blackouts and sending electricity prices soaring. The fuel normally trades in the region for less than $3 per mmBtu.

“It’s a shocking situation,” said Cody Moore, head of gas and power trading at Mercuria Energy America LLC. “It’s chaos. It’s crazy with the prices.” Mercuria booked hotel rooms for some of its employees in the Houston area so they could walk to the office instead of driving on icy roads. “Our first priority was to do whatever we can to keep the grid moving, the gas flowing properly, clients informed and regulatory agencies updated where required,” Moore said.

Chinese coast guard vessels on Tuesday again entered Japan's territorial waters near the China-claimed Senkaku Islands, the Japan Coast Guard said.

Despite a Japanese government protest Monday over a similar incursion by Chinese vessels, two Chinese coast guard ships intruded into the waters near the group of uninhabited islets in the East China Sea around 4:15 a.m., according to the coast guard. The Chinese vessels, which are different ships from the previous day, pointed their bows toward a Japanese fishing boat and made a move to approach it, according to the coast guard.

The 9.97-ton fishing boat, with four people on board, was being guarded by Japanese coast guard patrol boats, it said. The repeated incursions come after a new law took effect in China at the start of this month explicitly allowing the Chinese coast guard to use weapons against foreign ships that Beijing sees as illegally entering its waters.

It is the seventh time this year that Chinese vessels have entered Japanese waters, according to the 11th Regional Coast Guard Headquarters based in Naha, Okinawa Prefecture.

Nearly two-thirds of Americans say the U.S. needs a third major political party because the GOP and Democratic Party "do such a poor job representing the American people," according to a new Gallup poll.

In the survey released Monday, 62 percent of Americans said the third party was needed, while 33 percent said the two existing major parties do an "adequate" job representing the majority of Americans' political views.

It's the largest percentage of people to say the U.S. needs a third party since Gallup began polling on the question in 2003. The poll also marks the second-lowest percentage of people who said the existing parties are adequate after 26 percent of respondents said so in an October 2013 poll.

The Gallup poll results are based on responses from 906 U.S. adults living in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., from Jan. 21 to Feb. 2. The poll's margin of error is 4 percentage points.

House Dem campaign committee hires ex-gangster who called Capitol Police "white supremacists"

DCCC defended hiring saying he had served his time and is now a national leader in criminal justice education reform movement

he Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee recently hired a new senior advisor for strategic outreach, who referred to police officers as "white supremacists" after last month's breach of the U.S. Capitol, and had previously condoned the looting that took place last summer following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

"The answer to white supremacists storming the Capitol is not to give more money to a different group of white supremacists who's [sic] job it is to uphold white supremacy," Dyjuan Tatro tweeted in regard to the Capitol Police budget.

Tatro made those comments prior to joining the DCCC in early February.

He was featured in a 2019 documentary, "College Behind Bars," for earning a degree while still in prison. He served his time for a number of gang related offenses, including shooting rival gang members, "razor slashing" and drug dealing. He was freed from prison in 2017.

A DCCC spokesman, Cole Leiter defended Tatro after the New York Post published an article detailing Tatro's criminal history.

"Dyjuan Tatro serves his time. Then DCCC hires him after he becomes a national leader in a bipartisan movement to reform prison education systems. [New York] Post publishes trash headline," Leiter tweeted on Monday.

A DCCC press release said that hiring Tatro and other operatives would bring "years of critical experience in progressive politics, and a valuable range of background."

Republicans pushed back, saying that hiring Tatro will reinforce criticism that Democrats are soft on crime.

"It's certainly on-brand for criminal-coddling Democrats, but the rest of America will find it disturbing that a murderous gang member is holding a prominent position with the DCCC," said New York state Republican Party Chairman Nick Langworthy.

Twitter labels Indiana AG's tweet of Valentine's Day meme that election was stolen from Trump

Twitter has added a warning label to a Valentine's Day-themed meme about the 2020 election posted by Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita (R) and blocked users from interacting with the tweet.

The tweet included an image of former President Trump and the message: "You stole my heart like a 2020 election. Happy Valentine's Day."

Liking, commenting and retweeting the image has been blocked by Twitter. The platform also added a label to the tweet that reads: "This claim of election fraud is disputed, and this Tweet can't be replied to, retweeted, or liked due to a risk of violence."

The Hill has reached out to Twitter for further comment.

The label marks just the latest instance the social media giant has taken action to address misinformation about the 2020 presidential election on its platform. It previously added labels to former President Trump's tweets before ultimately banning him from the platform after the Capitol riot on Jan. 6.

Trump and his supporters have repeatedly claimed the 2020 presidential election included widespread voter fraud, though there is no evidence to support allegations that there was enough fraud to change the election results.

Ex-Goldman Analyst, Brother Charged in Insider-Trading Case

A former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. analyst and his brother, a lawyer at a top London law firm, were charged with insider trading by U.K. financial prosecutors.

The pair, Mohammed Zina and Suhail Zina, were charged over trading in six stocks, the Financial Conduct Authority said in a statement Tuesday. Suhail Zina was a junior solicitor at Clifford Chance. Mohammed Zina, 32, who worked as an analyst at the bank’s unit that checks for business conflicts, pleaded not guilty at a London court, an FCA spokeswoman said. He left Goldman Sachs in 2018. Suhail, 33, left Clifford Chance the same year.

The total profit from the alleged trading by the brothers was 142,000 pounds ($198,000), the FCA said. The companies included ARM Holdings Plc, Alternative Networks Plc and Punch Taverns Plc. The brothers appeared at a London court Tuesday morning, where the case was transferred to a higher tribunal for a plea hearing on March 16. Lawyers for the men declined to immediately comment.

The FCA also brought fraud charges relating to three personal loans obtained from Tesco Bank, totaling 95,000 pounds. The loans were said to be for funding home improvements, but were instead used to fund the alleged insider dealing, according to the regulator. Goldman Sachs said in a statement that it cooperated with the FCA’s probe and that the firm itself wasn’t under investigation. A spokesman for Clifford Chance declined to comment.

The charges are the FCA’s first against an employee at an investment bank since the conviction of a former UBS Group AG compliance officer and a day trader in 2019.

Myanmar junta charges Suu Kyi again to keep her under house arrest

Myanmar police filed a second charge against ousted State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi on Tuesday, extending her house arrest.

Suu Kyi's lawyer Khin Maung Zaw said the ousted leader is being charged with violating the country's Natural Disaster Law, without elaborating further. Suu Kyi was first charged with illegally importing walkie talkies and meant to be held under house arrest until Wednesday.

Ousted President Win Myint also faced additional charges for violating the Natural Disaster Law on Tuesday. Meanwhile, in the first press conference held by the junta since it seized power on Feb. 1, Brigadier General Zaw Min Tun, spokesperson for the ruling State Administration Council, said, "The military will abide by the constitution," when he was asked about the detention of Suu Kyi and Win Myint. The two are in good health, said the brigadier general.

Over 400 politicians, activists, civil servants and students have been arrested since Feb. 1, including Sean Turnell, an Australian economic adviser to the state counselor. In the news conference, Zaw Min Tun blamed protesters for inciting violence and illegally pressuring civil servants to join the civil disobedience movement.

Myanmar authorities have been using firearms to disperse protesters. A woman was shot in her head, according to local reports. Multiple injuries from rubber bullets are being reported every day in different cities.

From Sunday, the military dispatched armored vehicles on the streets of Yangon and other major cities to prevent people from taking to the streets. Witnesses said on Tuesday that the demonstrating crowds, which had ballooned to tens of thousands last week, now only number in the hundreds in Hledan district, the commercial hub of Yangon.

However, Zaw Min Tun insisted that police are instead being attacked by demonstrators. A police officer had died after being wounded by "lawless actions," he claimed.

Zaw Min Tun continued to blame the turmoil on fraudulent general elections in November, and urged the media not to call the military seizure of power a coup. Poll watchdog Asian Network for Free Elections released an opposite assessment, lauding the Union Election Commission for successfully holding the November votes. "Polling and counting operations were conducted diligently and transparently," ANFREL said in its interim report.

The military on Tuesday pledged to return power to a civilian government. "Our objective is to hold an election and hand power to the winning party," said Zaw Min Tun.

Citigroup cannot recoup Revlon payouts after nearly $900 million gaffe: U.S. judge

A federal judge on Tuesday said Citigroup Inc cannot recoup half a billion dollars of its own money that it mistakenly wired lenders of cosmetics maker Revlon Inc. U.S. District Judge Jesse Furman in Manhattan said the Aug. 11, 2020 wire transfers at issue were “final and complete transactions, not subject to revocation.”

The case stemmed from an incident where Citigroup, acting as Revlon’s loan agent, wired $893 million to Revlon’s lenders, appearing to pay off a loan not due until 2023. Citigroup had intended to send a $7.8 million interest payment, and blamed human error for the gaffe.

But while some lenders returned money they were sent, 10 asset managers refused, prompting Citigroup’s lawsuit to recoup the estimated $501 million they received.
