Several times I've got to end of bred and there's no notes and no sign of a baker for several hours. Attorney L. Lin Wood, who has made some of the boldest claims of voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election, tweeted Friday that Vice President Mike Pence could face arrest and imprisonment for treason, and execution by firing squad.
Wood appeared to be referring to a theory that Pence has the power to block the election of Joe Biden as President and Kamala Harris as Vice President when Congress meets to certify the vote of the Electoral College on Tuesday, Jan. 6.
Earlier this week, Rep. Louis Gohmert (R-TX) and others filed a lawsuit seeking to compel Pence to intervene in the Electoral College certification, on the argument that several states followed unconstitutional processes of choosing electors.
In a filing opposing the lawsuit, Pence argued that he does not have that discretion, and that the issue is up to Congress.
Wood tweeted that Republicans shared responsibility for the “theft of the election,” and there would be “arrests for treason.”

Bitcoin breaks through $30,000 as 2020 price surge continues into new year
It took bitcoin (BTC) 10 years in existence to reach the $20,000 mark, on Dec. 15. Then it took just 17 days to reach $30,000. It took the Dow Jones almost three years to make the same move.
Bitcoin started 2020 at $7,200. It ended the year very close to $30,000, up 296%. (For comparison, the Nasdaq rose 43% in 2020, the S&P 500 rose 16%, the Dow rose 7%.)
The surge continued full-steam into 2021: On Jan. 2, bitcoin broke through $30,000 for the first time, then broke through $31,000.
The 2020 bitcoin bonanza can be chalked up to a convergence of many positive factors, as well as a convergence of narratives.
In the past, a common criticism of bitcoin from skeptics was that it isn’t useful as a real currency—you can’t spend it in most places. In 2020, investors decided they don’t care about that, and don’t want to spend their bitcoin anyway. Institutional firms flooded in, viewing cryptocurrencies as a legitimate asset to hold in their portfolio.
At the very least, the consensus now appears to be: Bitcoin isn’t going away. It has existed for 10 years and will continue to exist.
The same cannot be said with absolute certainty about any of the other multitude of cryptocurrencies (“altcoins”), except perhaps ether (ETH), the token of the Ethereum network. (XRP, the token developed by Ripple Labs, has been in the top four cryptocurrencies by market cap for years, but is now under fire after the SEC sued Ripple Labs, alleging it conducted a $1.3 billion unregistered securities offering.)

US bans anonymous shell companies, passing 'historic' anti-corruption legislation
The United States banned anonymous shell companies through the defense bill vetoed by President Trump last month but passed in Congress on Friday.
The new legislation will require companies to report their real owners or "beneficial ownership" to the Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Unit. Included in the $740 billion defense bill, the Corporate Transparency Act will help prevent companies from hiding funds acquired by criminals or corrupt officials or hiding behind corporate organizations capable of concealing that information. The U.S. led the world in anonymous shell companies as of 2011, according to Reuters.
Those who fail to provide complete or updated information, or provide fraudulent information, can face up to three years in prison. Additionally, anyone forming a company in the U.S. will be required to submit their name, date of birth, and unique identification number.
Trump vetoed the defense bill for several reasons but mainly because it excludes a provision that would strip lawsuit liability protections from Big Tech. By voting to override the president's veto, the Senate provided his first and likely only veto defeat.
Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and Democratic Sen. Mark Warner pushed for the anonymous shell legislation, according to the New York Post.
Transparency International, a nonprofit group against global corruption, worked with lawmakers on the legislation, according to the Independent. They called it's passing "historic."
“It’s a huge step forward in fighting illicit finance at home and around the globe,” said Gary Kalman, the group’s U.S. director. “Simply put, corporate transparency means it will be harder for corrupt leaders and other criminals to hide and move stolen money through secretly-owned corporations.”

This is a good step and, if enforced-always that issue, will stop the long practice of Chinese Co's taking over Bankrupted entities that end up on the "pink sheets" or OTC-Over The Counter- market as a worthless shell.
The Chinese Co's would buy these shells and then populate them with there own "guts".
The licenses that were associated with these shells were then used as a way to get into our markets without the usual scrutiny (like they ever looked at them very hard in the first place).

The area immediately below $30,000 had proven a source of intense selling pressure throughout the past few days, a setup similar to that which Bitcoin disrupted at $20,000 just weeks ago.
"If you're looking for an entry to HODL Bitcoin long term, don't nickel and dime an entry. You're not going to sweat a few thousand dollars of non-perfect entry when it's $100k,$200k,$300k in a year," popular statistician Willy Woo summarized on Friday.
"The main bull phase is here. Capital inflows has gone nuts."
But while the crypto currency is rising in value against the dollar, Bitcoin price claimed another all-time high, this time against gold, offering further confirmation that demand for digital assets is on the rise…
As Bitcoin nears $31,000, the digital currency trades at over 16 ounces of gold, surpassing the 2017 highs (15.6).
As we detailed previously, Bitcoin’s biggest proponents believe the digital currency is eating away at gold’s market cap as investors opt for the efficiency, portability and proven scarcity of the asset. Astonishingly, that view is also shared by JPMorgan Chase analysts, who believe Bitcoin’s digital gold narrative is drawing capital away from precious metals.
Additionally, as CoinTelegraph notes, some believe that Bitcoin’s supply squeeze could send prices higher over the course of 2021. Specifically, digital asset manager Grayscale bought up nearly three times the BTC mined in December. Demand from PayPal, Cash App and others has also contributed to an apparent supply shortage of BTC.
It's official: Miners can't produce enough Bitcoin
Last month, the company added a total of 72,950 BTC ($2.132 billion) to its assets under management (AUM). During the same period, miners generated just 28,112 BTC ($821.7 million) — 38.5% of Grayscale's buy-in.
The figures underscore what many have described as an ongoing liquidity squeeze in Bitcoin, where large buyers suck up any available supply and remove it from circulation, sending it to cold storage for long-term hodling.
As Cointelegraph reported, the phenomenon was already visible in November 2020, but December 2020 saw a clear increase in demand from Grayscale and other institutional entities.
Grayscale now controls $20 billion in crypto
As the clock chimed midnight on New Year's Eve, meanwhile, Grayscale CEO Barry Silbert celebrated bringing the company's total AUM across its various crypto funds to over $20 billion. Just one year ago, the figure stood at a mere $2 billion.
The company remains the largest institutional player on the Bitcoin scene, with its $17.475 billion in BTC far outstripping any other market participant. Newcomer MicroStrategy, while not an investment business, now controls 70,470 BTC ($2.06 billion).
Going forward, analysts predict that more demand for the fixed supply of "new" Bitcoin from miners will only serve to create a bidding war and push up the price. Sellers already faced stiff resolve from buyers in December 2020, when new all-time highs failed to produce significant long-lasting pullbacks.

Austrian Town Of "Fucking" Officially Changes Its Name

A small Austrian village has finally grown tired of its name of Fucking - a name it has held since the 11th century - and officially changed it this week…
As DW reports, Mayor Andrea Holzner told Austrian broadcaster Oe24 that the name would be changed to Fugging from January 1, 2021.
The small community in Upper Austria of around 100 people has been pushing for a name change for years, the German Press Agency reported.
The name of the town, which lies north of Salzburg near the German border, has no meaning in German.
It is thought that the village was founded by a Bavarian nobleman called Focko in the sixth century but it wasn’t officially inhabited until around 1070. A map from 1825 uses the settlement name of Fuking.
Locals have grown frustrated by the thefts of the town signs by tourists and of people photographing the sign.
Fugging apparently better reflects the pronunciation of the town by locals. It is unclear what will happen to the current town signs.
Finally, and no we are not making this up, no news has yet emerged about possible name changes to the nearby hamlets of Oberfucking and Unterfucking.
Still, could be worse… you could live in 'Dickshooter', 'Ballplay', or 'Moist Cove'…

When House Democrats objected to the 2017 Electoral College vote certification that gave then-President-Elect Donald Trump victory, they were overruled by one of their party leaders: Joe Biden.
Biden, then vice president, presided over the certification of electoral votes.
On Jan. 6, a joint session of Congress again will meet, this time to certify results of the 2020 election in which Biden defeated President Trump.
Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., has said he will join a group of Republican representatives who have announced they will object to the certification. If so, that will guarantee both chambers debating the election results.
President Trump has alleged that voter fraud in several key battleground states gave Biden the triumph.
"I don’t hear the Democrats making outrageous claims when they were the ones who were objecting to electoral college certification in 2004 and 2016," he told the Fox News Network on Wednesday. "Democrats have done this for years to raise concerns about integrity."
Congressional members and protesters interrupted Biden during the certification four years ago. Democrats objected 11 times, according to CNN.
Democrats claimed then President-elect Trump prevailed in an unfair 2016 election due to either Russian interference or voter suppression.
When Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., objected to Georgia's vote certificate, Biden replied: "It is over.''
When Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Calif., Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, and Rep. Raúl Grijalva, D-Ariz., objected, a visbily agitated Biden replied, "There is no debate. There is no debate. There is no debate."
