That's what this thread is for. It serves to be make organization easier and visible for everyone interested, instead of being buried and unnoticed in an unrelated thread.

you should trace your poses/references. not like line for line, but draw the basic shapes of a mannequin. as long as you are focusing on understanding why its shaped that way and recognizing how he foreshortened the image or posed it the way he did, etc, youll learn much faster and develop the muscle memory for construction than if you spent an hour erasing over and over trying to figure it out basically at random. you can do 5 or 6 quick 30 second gestures before doing this, too, so you have your own construction to compare to later. but you shouldnt spend that much time on one drawing's construction. you arent learning so much as trying everything until it works without understanding how you got there - you just drew lines until you were happy enough with the result. work smarter, not harder. muscle memory comes with proper practice. animators spend hours tracing over the reference sheets before they start drawing a cartoon (well, before digital diarrhea that we get these days). this built muscle memory for the types of lines and shapes they had to draw. until you get the feel for the types of shapes and lines you need to construct, you should try just tracing paper or put reference on a lower layer and practice the basic shapes over and over. mix in your own attempt every so often. keep doing that until you understand the flow of arms and legs and body in general. youll spend less time on the construction and more on details for the final lines. youll learn quicker so long as it isnt mechanical non-thinking tracing. if you are actively analyzing the shapes you draw over the reference, you will get better far faster than any other method. muscle memory for lines is the number one skill people lack and its because they spend hours with trial and error and never actually learn.

With any luck, that was a temporary issue.
To my knowledge, we have had two issues, one of them ongoing:
The service provider dropping out around once a month for 2-15 minutes with no warning, rhyme or reason. This affects all sites and services hosted by them, not only splelps.com (still considering moving to a different hosting service if I don't get any answers or at least warnings up-front from them).
A new session got corrupted. Any attempt at connecting to it caused the server to crash, disconnecting all users. I had written an automatic service to restart the server within a minute should it ever go down. The session has since been fixed.

I've mused in the past about the surveillance state mass data collection problem. The only thing I can think of that would make it at least a little harder to track users' activity would be for submitted user text to be rendered as an image using the imagestring() function in php (or some equivalent in whatever other language) before simply being discarded/salted beyond recognition. I do wonder what performance aberrations that may cause, apart from the fact you'd need to pull off some interesting code to make it so that you could still copy selections from these images for the purpose of quoting other users etc.-
Just something I thought of though, I'm not a programmer so I don't know how unrealistic that'd be or if it'd even accomplish that goal (i.e. it may be possible to snipe the text inbetween its submission and when it's rendered into an image for example). It's a fun subject to talk about but I'm pretty sure it's more or less futile to resist in CY+5
