I'm the designer of a new htg/stg game called "Imperator" - it's set in a historical (non fantasy) Rome. It takes place in approx 192 AD during the era of the five emperors. You play the role of Marcus Furious Camillus. We've just completed a very rough 'tech demo' that will lead to an Alpha test release in a month or so.

The game is intended to function a little like Jack O'Nine Tails or Slave Maker. As the male MC, your only route out of absolute poverty and back into the aristocracy, your only way to redeem your family name is to build the strength, wealth, and influence of your family (Your Gens Familia). To do this you will have to start and run a successful brothel, train whores, and successfully place freed whores into positions of influence with others.

Basically this, in the case of Injustice Unlimited before it became Something Unlimited, it was making alot of money and people at DC became aware of them. I think they skipped a month of content, renamed themselves but have kept going.

As a general rule though, I do think porn is covered by parody and as long as you don't do stupid shit and draw unnecessary attention, the copyright holder probably won't care. Just name it something ambiguous like "4 elements trainer" instead of "Avatar Trainer" and you should be fine.

Haha, I'm sorry if my feedback is too long. I'll try to make it shorter next time since now I know you might read it. Yes I understand you have to move on some day and can't work on BTD forever, especially since you're mostly working solo. The most recent update definitely is a good place to end it. But maybe you can revisit it sometime if you feel inspired to add a new scene here and there like how the Roundscape devs add new stuff every so often to their game, even though it's finished.

For Dunwich, thank you for letting me off lightly with your words. I never meant to give the impression that I was expecting you to make a game with the complex ideas I wrote (but I really want plenty of MILFs and "cakes" no matter what game you make). I just wrote all that because it was my way of showing the people here just how much potential I saw, and how much more interest I have in the idea of a Lovecraft/Cthuluhu Mythos porn game made by you, when at the time all I knew was that you were moving on to continuing Vega Hunters. It was a pleasant surprise when I read that you were looking into starting work on Dunwich too.

But if I may just say one thing; PLEASE do not make it non-hardcore. First, there are already so many normal video games set in Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos setting. Recently, there have actually been a bunch of these games that have come out on PC. Thats more like 1:2 which is both perfectly possible and can look quite nice, you can go even further than that with extreme corsets maybe even close to 1:3 although personally I think 3:5 or .6 is just about perfect.

Would you guys rather play as John Candy, Rex DeForest III, Hobb Nayles, or one of the young male campers? At first I was thinking of a "villain takeover" scenario, but maybe people would like to be a camper instead, sometimes it's fun to play as a kid in these kind of games. I'm sure a lot of people would enjoy the chance to be John Candy too, so i'm having a paralysis of too many great choices and ideas to select from.
