I'm not saying Witch trainer was a 10/10 game, I'm just saying it was an 7/10 in my book that was bumped up to an 8/10 by sadcrab. As with all games, if it's good or bad is 80% subjective. Not everyone will like it, You don't most other people do. Get over it.

Dunno, sorry. You may ask dev, or find a forum where the game is discussed. But it's a Ren'Py game - which means you check .rpX files, simple text files, for states you find in-game. This should give you the actual name you can use with the console that comes with game. You activate the console if necessary, and check for states and their respective values.

There are three mods atm:
The Silver one (did not test), still developed. The Sad Crab russian-english (quite okay, tested v1.5), devel halted in favour of some conversion. The Feodosiy one (pretty new, did not test), to be found on devs patreon. You could install them in parallel and check for yourself.
All should be better than original Rubberduck version, because they should mostly reduce grinding, you can concentrate on playing. Plus some extras (new events, other chars).

the game itself hasnt changed that much, if you hated it back then you will still hate it now, and if you loved it you will get a few extra commands, a few extensions of existing commands and different costumes. there is also luna and a few other shenanigans. overall id say its worth it if you use cheat start, but its still the same kind of game. there are a few added cgs involving snape and hermione iirc

there is more content, but basically more of the same. mostly more things you can make hermione (and to a lesser extent luna) do. exploring the castle is not really that interesting though. you can find potion ingredients and there is an item shop and tailor, but not much more. if you liked the basic witch trainer its better to play the silver version if you feel the itch to replay it, but compared to other games its not that great, even with the mod
