Low. Because they are making it clear this is time consuming in house. At least in the 90s and 2000s, SEGA was a bigger company with far more budget, so they could get away with Sonic X. Now, you'd definitely need it to be outsourced, and they already did that with Sonic Boom. Even when Boom worked for the show, it still got cancelled thanks to the game conterparts. I feel like this shorts direction is the reaction to said Boom failing, a compermise basically. Maybe if they got Toei or something to outsource too, maybe, but otherwise, I don't think so. The quality of the shorts are actually far better and up to par than literally all of modern day cartoons for kids, if it's purely hand drawn. Just look at shit like nuPPG or most of the non tweened shit on CN.

I don't think they would pursue that endeavor on their own for a few more years, and when/if they did, I imagine Sonic Team would have a pretty strong grip on it and it wouldn't end up being anything we hope. Another possibility which I think is more likely is (((someone else))) approaching them to get a license for an animated series, in which case I think the result would fall into one or more of the usual archetypes for new mainstream content (cheap cash in, nostalgia revival, covert pushing of politics, etc.).

Well, we have heard about Sonic basically being divided up into 4 branches now (Modern!Sonic, Classic!Sonic, Movie!Sonic & Animation!Sonic), so I wouldn't be too surprised if they tried pursuing another animated series in the near future.
However, I can see it being something akin to the shorts we've gotten with Sonic Mania Adventures & Team Sonic Racing Overdrive, where they serve more as cute little shorts rather than being a full-length show ala Sonic Boom or Sonic X.
And tbh, a Sonic short series done by Tyson Hesse does sound pretty nice.

Reminds me that he's trying to get other interviews and one of the people he reached for previously was Johnny Gioeli. The reason Crush 40 stopped doing theme songs for the modern Sonic games front and center was due to him being busy with other projects as well as being "pricy" from the sound of it. Sonic Boom 2014 in NYC. Had the voice actors sign the big posters they were giving out. Colleen was enthusiastic about voicing Tails, when I asked her, line was big so I didn't get to talk with Roger or Travis, but Smith did say something to me which I couldn't hear well due to the noise. Got Jun to sign the one with Shadow and Iizuka after his performance when everyone was going home, at which was a joy to see he actually laughed at. Told him that fans still wanted an "Adventure 3" to which he replied with "I know". Earlier I told someone I was going to do that, at which he responded that he would do the same but with "Generations 2" To this day I can't help but wonder if that contributed to them going along with Forces which felt sort of like a fusion of those ideas.
Oh and Mike was there too, really jolly and heartwarming guy as you'd expect talking and giving handshakes with everyone. Can't believe I actually got him to sign the last drawing, and that was after I assured him that it was only a joke. I'll save the photos with some of the cosplayers and Iizuka for myself for identity confidentiality. As an aside, there was a DMC5 party here a few months ago and a pal got Itsuno and Matt Walker to sign my Devil May Cry games.

Either they're autistic, or just trying to get their 5 minutes of fame by trolling the panelists. And if it's not that, it's asking a question they obviously can't answer. It's rare that I ever see someone ask a good, serious, needed-to-be-asked question.
I think if I ever had a panel, and there was a line for the Q&A, kids would go in front, because it seems like they always ask the real questions. To them, this is not a con panel; this is a press conference. They take this shit seriously and they have questions that they want answers to.

To elaborate, Steam has my playtime at 3.8 hours. That was my whole first time through, including not skipping any cutscenes, having to go back and collect animals two or three times, playing one of the bonus levels, going out of my way for some of the red rings, and having some trouble figuring out the Zavok fights. If I were experienced with the game, I could probably hundred-percent it in, at most, three hours. Assuming none of that guy's 26 hours was idling time, he's played it enough to be a pro at it.

There are videos of ~20 yo's right now doomsaying the series as a whole despite this being a foriege made movie of Sonic that if anything, if SEGA pull yet another Unleashed again, then it would paint the image it's just the west they are bad with handling Sonic. Which isn't true but that's the problem with big name companies doing stupid shit with a series you love, people act out instead of making sense on what matters. Sonic has been outsourced by many non Japanese publishers like Archie and DiC, but most of the people today don't know about this so they think this is new and series killing for Sonic. As long as Evening Star, Sumo, maybe Dimps and Sonic Team just focus on making better products, stuff like the movie will get forgotten like The Last Airbender or Dragon Ball Evolutions. Just think, do you think the DBZ fanbase thinks back on that crap movie when games like FighterZ happens? That's what Sonic needs right now, Sonic Team working on their IP and making a better example for themselves this time.

Common sense would say that the final boss should be a final test of the player's abilities, and most if not all 3D Super Sonic bosses barely hold any resemblance to standard Sonic gameplay.
And if that is the actual reason, what Kishimoto fails to understand is that in 3&K, Doomsday Zone was a bonus. The actual final boss was the giant Eggman robot beforehand, which had 4 phases if you count the boss immediately before that. Doomsday Zone is really just one final epic capstone for the game. They've never really replicated that since.

I can see where it's coming from. Remember how Super Saiyan means something in the Dragon Ball franchise? Wait, it doesn't, because all the main characters use it all the damn time, if not outright surpass it. Having Sonic go super for every single final boss lowered its significance. It became expected, par for the course, no longer special. Having Sonic not go super was not only fresh, but it makes any future appearances, where he does, much more significant. It shows that Sonic is more than capable taking on tough baddies without resorting to the chaos emeralds, while allowing the super form to be an indicator that this is one boss that can't be fucked with.

I can understand that argument, but it doesn't really mean anything given how little they care and have always cared about continuity and the mess they've made of it over time. It just comes through as an excuse to be lazy in this context. Still, I'd say Super Sonic is still special enough for a lot of people given how much they request him, and I don't think that having him show up once per game is something bad if they actually made the game so that it feels warranted. Personally, though, I never really cared too much for Super Sonic because he was just a symbol rather than something that I found was fun to play as, and I'd rather they made things fun before adding more characters or transformations, but it seems they're not going to do either.

Not really, he's suppose to be the better example, that's how Japan wrote him. I get that Americans are a lack of a better word, arrogant and violant, but SOnic isn't that kind of character. He actively saves wildlife, he doesn't kill the man that always nearly destories life on a planet, he always try to make friends with anything that isn't pure evil, be refuses to give up when the tough gets going, and as of the modern games, he actively gets stronger to the point he doesn't rely on his Super Form anymore. He's literally the embodiment of good, right down to what was suggested in SA1 when Sonic turned Super with the corrupted emeralds. There's a reason Shadow was made, but I do think they didn't express that as obviously over the years, but to be fair, Shadow in X was always determined to get the job done, even if it meant killing someone. This shows up again in IDW, where SShadow was going to stop Eggman where he can't harm anyone anymore, when Sonic interens, even if Eggman was under amnisia, I feel like Sonic wouldn't want Shadow to kill Eggman either way. Dark Sonic just highlights a weakness, to a level that makes him worse because it doesn't work for a character with super powers. Superman himself gets this treatment that most don't have a complete appoval of, as some try to give him flaws he has to deal with, then that normally ends up as him being a dick to everyone around him. It's a struggle that wasn't needed for Superman, because his original image was "the ideal man". The ideal man doesn't have flaws, that's how that saying was created under. And Sonic reflects that ideal, he's suppose to be better than you, to set a better example. This is likely why people hated Lost World so much because his flaws in that game actively was out of character for Sonic.

Lost World's problem was not that it gave Sonic flaws, it's that he was turned into an unlikable douche. Flaws need to be handled in such a way that they are understandable for the character, and that was the wrong way to do it. And it's perfectly understandable that a character like Sonic, who's always so cocky and sure of himself never taking anything seriously, to have bottled up some personal feelings just to let them explode at some point.
The whole "ideal human being" works if you only care about him being a role model for children, as Superman once was, but if you actually want to give Sonic's writing and characters an actual fucking third dimension with some nuance for the audience that has grown up with him for so long, it doesn't work. Superman can still be "the ideal man" and still have personal struggles.

And as it pertains to the whole discussion about Sonic being the "ideal man" or in this case, hog I think the best way to handle that if someone would choose to go in that direction would be given emphasis to the character's whose lives had changed forever because of Sonic. Characters like Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow etc. have all had their lives impacted by Sonic & some of their character development (mainly in the case of Amy & Tails) can be owed to Sonic being a source of inspiration to them. But, the games kinda falter on this because characters like Amy, Tails & Knuckles haven't really had a whole lot of shine in recent years & in the case of Tails in Forces, had moments that felt like a gigantic step back.

Sonic can have personal struggles and flaws, but "I have inner demons that turn me into an edgelord" shouldn't be one of them. Do you remember the lyrics to It Doesn't Matter? That isn't just some silly theme song; it's Sonic's life philosophy. He doesn't care what other people see as right and wrong. He doesn't hold himself to the standards of others. If he has to beat up the beloved King fucking Arthur, so be it. He does what he believes he should do. His greatest strength isn't his speed, but his belief in himself. He knows what he wants, what he lives for, what he fights for, and he never falters or compromises on it. He's free as the wind because of that.
And, considering that, I don't think any character struggle should be within Sonic. He's the hero, the role model, the inspirational figure. It's those around him who should have struggles, and he's the one who should help them overcome those struggles. He inspires Tails to gain self-confidence. He inspires Amy to chase after her dreams. He allows a princess to let loose and have fun. Sonic is fucking Basara Nekki, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

That's not what happens in Dark Sonic's scene though. The negative energy from all the fake emeralds intensifies his anger at the situation, and allows him to tap into it for power. We've only ever seen Sonic be able to tap into positive Chaos Energy. Being able to tap into the negative energy as well would actually be a neat idea (and something that ShTH SHOULD have done if it wanted a morality system). That whole thing about Sonic's philosophy only helps my point. If he doesn't give a shit about right or wrong, he's going to eventually do something wrong. The question is whether he should care or not. And maybe he shouldn't, but someone at least needs to call him out on it.
I'm just saying that if I'm going to be playing as Sonic, and spending 100% of my time with him for the storyline of one of his games, he should be a character, not just a symbol. Anyways to bring it back to Sonic. Anyone played this game before in the 2000s? I just got a bit reminiscence about this and dug it up from my old hard drive to play it again. It's both very impressive and very sad such a near 1-to-1 of Sonic's 2D gameplay was redone so well, in Flash, in 2004 or so. Compared to Sonic 4… And you can see why I call it a sad case. Sad how SEGA can't seem to do this themselves anymore and fans can do so from what seems so easy to do right. But I digress, if you need something to past the time, go and play this game again. Tbf that game I played was made nearly 10 years ago, where it was likely teens just adding what ever was in a Sonic game, not about if it was functionally better or not. I agree than 2D SOnic just doesn't need it, but hey, I can't hate the game for doing what was esseically "not a big deal". As we got older we kinda refined to what works best in Sonic and what doesn't. Both that game and Ultimate Flash Sonic I realize has a design "flaw" where rolling doesn't actually just accelerate and decelerate just on its own like the classic games do, you have to hold forward for it to work. I'm not sure if the Advance games were like that, but that's a difference I noticed about the two games, among other things.

If removing the werehog "makes Unleashed not Unleashed anymore" You cannot "remove Sonic x Elise romance, the original encounter with Silver despite Generations remaking it for a non broken fight, and have to work out a way to make the story not treat everyone like dipshits like they did the first time, which would change the narration of the story in a way that would, ultimately, make Mephiles even more stupid for not just killing Sonic sooner than he did otherwise.
I think based on what people see Sonic as today, Modern as a joke and Classic as a rememience of the "good times", it would only make those that grew up with Modern Sonic happy, not all of the fanbase who never cared about that era of Sonic. It'd just make Modern feel "redeemed" but the damage ain't being redone, life doesn't work like that.
Modern Sonic's image wouldn't be a joke well after 06 if they CONSTANTLY made good games, not remake crap ones into better ones.

I feel like unlike Sonic 4, that game was trying to be SA1 but for the New Generation. It tried to take everything they've learned from SA1 to ShTH, and mash them into one game. Multiple playable characters, most with unique experinces not as defined as just "Sonic with x differerent move like the classic games", was going to have something to do with Chao that you go back to levels to get stuff for them like in SA1/2, and carried over some plot points that's tied to SA2/ShTH, which besides what Team Dark was doing in Heroes, connects them to those games as well. I really think 06 was going to be that and I don't think just calling it the first Sonic game in name was really the original plan. It might have been, but it would have been based on the foundation that the Adventure era brought. There's no team gameplay like Heroes, and Shadow for the most part, designed itself around SA2's narrative and direction for Shadow's side of the story.
Unlike Sonic 4 where all of the elements felt superficial, like how the plot around it clashed with what time did Adventure 1 take place, and how before that point, was never mentioned within the Adventure era, especially how Metal Sonic was still on Little Planet, but was last seen in a bio tube in the Egg Carrier in SA1.
