I think the execution of the moral - just a line of text at the bottom - is the worse issue.
Having dealt with organ transplants in the family - this sort of shit happens all the time. I had to see countless people, mostly older men and women, coming into the transplant clinic. All too often, they were already on their second organ, after collapsing the first one through drugs, alcohol, and terrible lifestyle - and then continuing to live life in a shitty fashion. Meanwhile, you get to sit there and watch a loved one who has been responsible get stuck on the back-burner, because their primary metric isn't if a person "deserves" it, but how close a person is to dying. In this fashion, and plenty of others, you have countless people being given an amazing chance at life and then throwing it away.
In that way, the ending makes sense. While you might want a shonen-esque happy ending where the "power of love" or whatever gets a person to not let themselves go to shit, the fact of the matter is, people are terrible and do shit like that all the time. The only failure point here is that the early panels with the girl don't show anything bad, which makes the revelation alone seem like the breaking point - having her start off as a wreck would have matched the theme a little better.

I didn't fucking want that, I wanted a decent ending. I even would have accepted a Junji Ito-esque non conclusion with the second to last page of her just having a bit of a freakout and then end it.
Instead we get a clumsy page of Fran and Friends expositioning how it went to shit. A much better way to end it would have having a scene from her perspective struggling to find a way to drown out the errant thoughts and memories by any means possible.
A good comparison, I think, would be one of the first stories, that girl who got Trucked and had her body reconstituting through a big grub body. The ending where she went all mantis was out of left field, but the way it was presented was visceral and stuck with you atleast. Could you imagine if Fran was just sitting down to her morning coffee and was talking to Dogman there or the OrganMummy about how last month a previous patient got gunned down by police for turning into a big bug?

I was going to storytime the first chapter of Shoujo Kishidan x Knight Tale, but then I realized it was 68 pages long. If you're interested in cute girls doing HEMA/SCA in a semi-realistic setting (there's no magic, but it is drenched in silly animu cliche logic) then you should check it out. The art is great and the author is fairly knowledgeable about Heavy Combat and European armors and weapons because he actually does Heavy Combat stuff in real life. So there's no silly stylized fantasy armor. It's all cute girls in proper plate and mail.

The guild seems to use it as a measurement for the "character sheet" they keep of every adventurer and even those ranks can be seen as levels, with each being a few levels in D&D terms. But it's not like in some of the other recent generic fantasy and isekai series, where every character can just access his stat screen and they talk about "ekusu pee", "reveru" and "skirru" all the time.
