I hate how nearly every portrayal of Ruby is either:

Yes, she's young, and a bit socially awkward. But she's still a trained combatant who can mercilessly mow down everything from Grimm to actual human enemies, as long as it's being done for the greater good. Outside of a presumably small group of friends from Signal, she only has a circle of just over a dozen relationships, and managed to personally witness two of them in a single night - and still resolve to keep going on. Hell, with her own sister fucked up and in need of help, she turned back to Beacon (and was ready to do it on her own) just to help the two people they had left behind, because that's what it meant to be a hero of justice.
She's optimistic and determined to never give up - the very definition of a simple, honest soul.
Taken together, it paints the picture of an admirable, yet still somehow tragic character. Everything in the world points to Roman being right - she will die, just like her mother and all of the Huntsmen and Huntresses before her. But despite this knowledge and her own current inability, she conducts herself in such a manner that you want to believe that she will actually succeed mostly because RoosterTeeth wouldn't be willing to pull off such a downer ending but whatever.
On a more important note: Considering the religious iconography and the face that she's about as close to a traditionalist romantic as you can get, given her whole hero from the books thing, I imagine her favorite position would be missionary.

You see Ruby curled up into a ball, sobbing, clutching her cape. "Ruby? What's wrong?" You ask. "A-anon…" she whimpers. "I had a nightmare." She confesses, as if embarrassed. You pull yourself up onto her bed. "Y'see…ever since I was little, I've been having bad dreams like this…about my Mom. And how she died." She explained. You reach over and wipe away a tear from her face. Then you pull yourself over to her, getting under the covers with her and drawing her close. Against your better judgement, you begin to sing to Ruby, hoping to calm her down. Surprisingly, it works, and the crying stops. Ruby smiles at you. "Thanks, Anon." She says. She leans in to give you a kiss, then you both lay back down to cuddle. Eventually Ruby falls asleep in your arms.

Part 1: Asking Her Out/Yang’s Blessing
>You breathed a heavy sigh as you stood outside Team RWBY’s dorm. Today was the day you had been waiting for the whole week—the day you were going to ask Ruby out on a date. You felt that you knew the diminutive Huntress well enough now that you could at least treat her to a fun evening, but you were still unsure about confessing your feelings. Regardless, there was still one other person you had to ask. You rapped your knuckles against the door, hoping the team was home. Weiss answered. “Oh. Hey, Anon. What do you want?” She asked with an air of indifference. “Hi, Weiss. I’m here to talk to Ruby and Yang.” You replied. Weiss opened the door fully, allowing you to step inside. Ruby sat on the couch with her sister, engaged in a heated match in a fighting game. Blake sat on her bed, engrossed in a book and oblivious to the noisy sisters or your entry. You turned your eyes back to the sisters’ battle, just in time to see the health bar of Ruby’s character drop to zero. “Aww! No fair!” Ruby pouted. “You always use that grabby ability! I don’t even know how to do it…” Yang gave her sister a smug look. “It’s all about the combos, sis. I’d think you’d be good at those, considering your Semblance is speed and all.” The blonde’s remark clearly hit close to home, earning her a pillow in the face courtesy of Ruby. “Oh, it’s on now.” Yang declared, and was about to return fire when you interrupted. “Sorry to break up…whatever it is you’re doing, but can I talk to you for a second, Yang?” The golden-haired girl ceased hostilities, and dragged you to the far corner of the dorm. “Lemme guess. You’re gonna ask my sister out on a date.” She whispered. You were taken aback by Yang’s perceptiveness. “How did you—“ She cut you off before you could finish. “You’d have to be blind or stupid to not notice the way you look at Ruby every day.” Or, the blond thought, the way she looks at you. Your face turned red. Clearly your attempts at subtlety had come to naught. “I’m cool with it,” Yang declared, “but let me make one thing clear: If you break my sister’s heart, I will beat you within an inch of your life.” She added in a threatening tone. (You could have sworn you saw her eyes turn red for a second there…!) Threat aside, you now had Yang’s blessing, so you turned to the younger of the sisters, who had now begun fighting an AI opponent in her game. “Ruby?” You called, trying to get her attention. “Hmm? Oh! Hi, Anon!” The girl paused the game and bounded over to you with a beaming smile on her face—the kind of smile that always set your heart a flutter. “What is it?” She asked. “Well, Ruby…” you began, struggling to find the right words. “…Do you want to spend the day with me?” You finished, hoping you had not spoken out of turn. Ruby looked surprised at this, then happy. “Sure, Anon! What did you have in mind?”

Part 2: The Gun Shop/Ice Cream
>Ruby’s silver eyes sparkled as she took in the sight of dozens of different weapons on display at the local gun store. “They’re all so cool!” She squeed, her eyes darting around the display before finally resting on a futuristic rifle in the center. “No way! How do they even have an MA5D here yet?! Atlas only introduced these a month ago!” Ruby began launching into a spiel about the MA5-series’ history, and the specifications of the new model. While you only understood about half of what she was saying, you found her passion endearing. “…but I actually prefer the SmartScope feature.” Suddenly, Ruby stopped mid-sentence. You could practically see the lightbulb appear over her head as she remembered something. “I know! How ‘bout I show you this new attachment I’m thinking about getting for Crescent Rose?” Not waiting for an answer, she dragged you by the hand to another part of the store. She pointed at a large, gaudy-looking piece of hardware that was labeled as a flamethrower. “What do you think?” She looked up at you expectantly. You thought for a moment. While the idea of a flamethrower scythe was pretty cool, you knew that wasn’t what the girl really needed. “Why not try something more defensive? Maybe have it turn into a sword, like your uncle’s?” (You had not met Ruby’s uncle Qrow, but the sisters had described his exploits to you in great detail). Your dismissal of the idea clearly dismayed Ruby, and she looked down at the floor sadly. You felt guilty, and hoped you had not crushed her dreams too thoroughly. “It’s still a cool idea!” You added genuinely, hoping to salvage the situation. “Really?” “Really.” She smiled at you, clearly feeling better. You were surprised your opinion mattered so much to the girl. “Why don’t you look around a few more minutes, and then we’ll go get something to eat.” You suggested. Ruby nodded happily and resumed her browsing.
>As soon as you left the gun shop, the two of you mutually decided on ice cream. As the two of you walked downtown together, you noticed that many times Ruby would reach for your hand, but pull away, seemingly deciding against it. You wondered if maybe she had feelings for you as well, but you brushed that idea away. Once you reached the ice cream parlor, Ruby ordered a classic cone with two scoops—strawberry and cookie dough. You weren’t feeling all that hungry, though, so you contented yourself to a soda. The two of you elected to sit down at an outdoor table, as the air was cool and the breeze refreshing. You couldn’t help but laugh a little at Ruby’s messy attempt at eating her ice cream without a spoon. While there was awkward silence initially, you decided to break the ice with small talk—menial questions like ‘favorite color’ or ‘favorite band’. Normally you despised such meaningless talk, but being with Ruby seemed to take the discomfort away. Likewise, the normally awkward girl seemed to be enjoying herself as well. “Hey, Anon?” She asked quietly. “Thanks for hanging out with me today. I know I can be weird or annoying sometimes, so it really means a lot to me that you would choose to spend your day with me, of all people.” You thought for a moment, then decided to correct her. “Oh please. That’s Weiss talking. You’re not weird, Ruby—well, not THAT weird. And you’re definitely not annoying. You are, quite frankly, the most adorable, interesting girl I’ve ever met.” Any further conversation was cut short, however, when it started pouring rain.

>Seeking shelter, the two of you ran to a nearby bookstore. By the time you got inside, the two of you were both soaking wet. Ruby wrung out her cape, leaving a puddle of water on the floor. The bookstore was well-furnished, with chairs and couches throughout the store, as well as a nice café. “Well, since we’re here…want to do a little reading? I was going to take you to the movies, but I’m not comfortable walking in this.” You suggested, referring to the rainstorm. Ruby gave an affirming nod, and you briefly parted ways to hunt down some books. You picked out a few political books, and the latest novel in the series you’d been reading. Ruby picked out various weapon magazines and one book—'The Story of King Arthur and his Knights'. The two of you reunited at a couch in the corner of the store. “Good choice.” You commented, gesturing to the copy of King Arthur. “Yang used to read me this book when we were kids. It’s been a long time since I’ve read it. It was my inspiration for becoming a Huntress, you know. I wanted to be like the Knights of the Round Table—standing up for honor and justice, protecting people who can’t protect themselves.” Ruby explained passionately. You were awed by the words coming out of the small girl’s mouth—this lofty idealist was a far cry from the awkward little girl you had asked out two hours ago. The two of you sat on the couch, reading your respective books, and making the occasional small talk. In the end, hours passed, and you noticed that Ruby had drawn much closer to you on the couch—so much so that you were practically cuddling. After a while you noticed the rain had cleared. “Hey, Ruby, it looks like the rain’s gone. Do you want to leave?” You asked. “Sure.” Ruby replied. You put your books back and headed out the door.

The two of you walked down the street, eventually ending up in a small park on the edge of town. The stars shone brightly in the sky, and you could practically see the constellations take shape. You decided this would be as good a place as any—you would confess to Ruby here and now. But it seemed she had other plans. “Anon? I need to tell you something.” She said softly. “Go ahead.” You said. Ruby breathed a big sigh. “The thing is…I like you, Anon. I might even love you! Please don’t hate me or anything…” She cried. You walked over to her and gave her a big hug. “I don’t hate you, Ruby. That’s an awfully dumb thing to say, especially after all the stuff we did together tonight. Truthfully, the whole reason I asked you out was so that I could tell you that I loved you!” You explained. Ruby returned the hug, wrapping her small arms around your waist. “Really?” “Really.” The two of you then embraced in a deep kiss. Ruby, being a whole foot shorter than you, had to stand on her tiptoes to reach your lips, and even then you still had to meet her halfway. It was an awkward kiss, but it was also the best you’d ever had. “I love you, Anon.” “I love you too, Ruby.” After holding each other for what seemed like an eternity, you walked Ruby back to her dorm, holding hands as you walked.

You feared the worst. Had they been attacked? Was somebody hurt? By the time you reached RWBY's dwelling, you were out of breath from running so fast. You knocked frantically on the door, hoping someone would answer. Promptly, Ruby, still in her pajamas, answered the door. She was acting casual, for the most part, but seemed giddier than usual. "Hey, Anon! Come on in!" She demanded, pulling you inside the dorm by your shirtcollar and shutting the door behind her. "Why were you running? I mean, when I told you to come quick, I didn't mean THAT quick." Ruby inquired. "Oh. I thought something was wrong. Clearly that's not the case." You replied, gasping for breath. Ruby tossed you a water bottle, which you gladly guzzled down. "Anon…the reason I called you here is, well…I have a little surprise for you." Ruby said, a hint of red on her cheeks. You raised an eyebrow, still chugging the water all the while. Ruby turned her back to you, and slowly but surely began removing her top, delicately pulling it over her head, and casting it aside. You were so surprised, you spit out your water. Your cheeks and ears felt like they were on fire, and you imagined that you looked redder than Crescent Rose. "R-ruby!? What are you d-doing!?" You stammered, not expecting such behavior from the normally innocent girl. "Getting naked for you, silly." She said as if it were no big deal. She began to shed her fuzzy pajama pants next, easing them to the ground, now covered merely by her panties. "R-ruby, we only just started dating! And we're still students! We can't do that yet!" You insisted. Ruby began working her underwear down her legs, but stopped when she deduced what you were implying. This time it was her turn to blush, "N-no, Anon, I don't want to do that. You're totally right when you say we shouldn't do that now. But…I figured there was nothing wrong with you seeing me naked. Since we're boyfriend and girlfriend, I wanted to show you my body. Think of it like a teaser of what we will do later on." Ruby reasoned, stumbling over her words. You calmed down after hearing the girl's words. There was no harm in just looking…and besides, she did look attractive. Ruby let go of the panties, which dropped to the floor unceremoniously. She was now fully uncovered, laid bare and for your eyes only. Slowly, she began turning around, allowing you to get a good look at her figure. I'm honestly not sure how I feel about this. I have no problem with Futa Ruby, but for some reason I don't really like the idea of it being canon.

You cringed, hoping none of the school staff had heard that while passing by. Ruby hesitated for a moment, then went to grab several cans. You looked at her in surprise. "What? My uncle Qrow says that alcohol can always brighten up a party." She explained innocently. Clearly her drunken uncle had too much influence over her. You made a mental note to speak to Taiyang about this another time, but for now decided to take a can. Weiss sniffed the can with disgust. "How do people drink this?" She scoffed. Still, she cracked it open anyway. Several cans and several hours later, you all were quite drunk, easily amused by the smallest of things; namely, Ruby's (clearly exaggerated) story about using Zwei as a cannonball. After a while, you noticed Ruby looking at Weiss with an almost…lustful eye. "Heya, Weiss," she slurred. The white-haired socialite paid her no heed. Ruby didn't accept this, however, and leaned in closer to Weiss. The red-caped girl began tracing Weiss' shoulders and neck with her finger. "W-what are you doing, you dunce?!" Weiss protested, blushing furiously. You were quickly aroused by Ruby's uncharacteristically seductive behavior. Before you knew it, Ruby was on top of Weiss, silencing the heiress' protests with a deep kiss. You were stunned. You didn't think Ruby swung both ways! You chalked it up to the alcohol, and decided to get in on the action. You crawled over to them, and began kissing Ruby in various places. Soon enough the three of you were in various stages of undress, engaged in a passionate tussle. While Ruby was the main target of your affections, Weiss too received some love from you on occasion. Ruby, conversely, alternated evenly between you and the white-haired girl. The night faded into a sensual blur, and you all fell asleep, tired of the lovemaking.

She yelped, pulling a blanket close to her in an attempt to protect her modesty. Of course, you had seen it all before. Weiss awoke next, rubbing her eyes. Her reaction was much more verbose. "Crap! Father's going to kill me!" She panicked, hyperventilating all the while. She reached over to grab her Scroll from the endtable, and began typing furiously. "Weiss? What are you doing?" Ruby asked. "Looking up where to get contraceptives, you dolt!" The heiress panicked. You got out of bed and dressed yourself, all the while saying a silent prayer for forgiveness–and protection from Taiyang's inevitable wrath. Weiss did the same, leaving Ruby in the bed, scratching her head and wondering what exactly happened the night before.

I shouldn't have had those drinks…and that thing with Weiss…" The girl choked on her words. Her eyes began to glimmer with tears. "I-I want you to know that I don't have those kinds of feelings for Weiss…you're the one I want to be with, Anon. I was drunk, I got caught up in the moment, and…" Ruby paused to regain her composure, but you could tell she was still distressed. "I love you, Anon…but if after last night you feel differently, I won't blame you…dang it, why did I have to screw this up!?" Ruby lamented. Her words contained powerful raw emotion. You could tell she was genuine. She began sobbing. You pulled your chair closer to her, and gently wrapped your arms around her. You allowed her to bury her head in your shoulder, soaking your sportcoat in tears. "I forgive you, Ruby. If anything, I'm just as guilty. I could easily have stopped you from drinking. And I was loving on Weiss almost as much as you! I still like you, Ruby. And I don't want our relationship to die because of a little mistake." You said in as comforting a tone as you could manage. "…Really?" She whimpered, looking up at you and wiping a tear away. "Really." You affirmed, looking into her eyes and giving her a kind smile.
