I don't like it. Her outfit looks cool though (ignoring the JRPG belts on her waist), I like the black and blue- but at the same time it feels 'off' for her, maybe because of the deep saturated blue color instead of the faint blue she usually had. But I don't know, it has good ideas I think, just executed poorly.

Its literally just her V4 outfit with some adjustments and hair cut. Boob window is covered for obvious reasons, her and Yang should just wear hijabs at this point. Yang's construction worker jumpsuit is the most retarded design I've seen come out of the show. They had the idea of the motorcycle rider look (seeing the jacket) but fucked it all up with that jumpsuit.

The only character that ever attempted to kill something immortal was the major in hellsing ultimate, but that universe is wackier than this one, and guess what? They can't kill alucard at all, they just send him to the shadow realm and he escapes like 30 years later

Remnant doesn't have anything remotely similar to what the major used and I doubt there will be an ending with salem killed. Maybe the gods? But it would kill the finale to see her human again, reconciling with Ozpin and leaving for the afterlife after all she has and has been implied to do

They found out about Salem's immortality from prying Ozpin over the relic. He could have dismissed concerns by saying that the relic can answer their questions, but has limited uses and so they should think carefully before asking. And also tell them ahead of time they need to hurry with it since it attracts Grimm.

The problem with Salem being immortal being this deal-breaker is that for all her power she was from all evidence prevented from winning all this time. Even with the grimm. The huntsmen should already know that they're warring on an eternal enemy.

Actually thinking about it, what did Ozpin have to lose by telling his subordinates outright that Salem is immortal and commands the Grimm then having the info filter through cultural memory with Salem becoming a Devil figure? They'd already know the Grimm are apparently beyond human ability to end, so it wouldn't be a stretch for their director to be immortal. If anything, it'd make his mission easier since it'd give the world he was tasked with protecting a target to focus on.

I decided to take a look of the rabbit hole that is the "RWBY critique community" and holy fuck these people.

Half of the time these niggas don't know what the fuck they're talking about.

I'd say Monty's animations are less shit than the ones we have now, but it doesn't mean it has no flaws onto them. It's like that thing where women would have uglier/fatter women next to them to trick others into thinking that they are pretty.

Some of the shit they complain about feels like nitpicking at times- but that might be because they have such an unbearable tone in their voices and its hard to listen to what they are saying.

But one thing that stuck out is that these guys seem notorious even in community sites like Reddit, Youtube, Twitter etc. Is it just rabid fans who don't like criticism or are the critics genuinely are crazy, or both? I only glanced at a few comments.

I don't know anything about this guy. Hell, I don't even know anyone that's e-famous in the RWBY fanbase other than Mojojo and AlphaJaune (that guy who made the RWBY abridged series when S1 first aired), and I don't know anything personal about them either. Some of his points were fine (like the lesbo pandering of lgbtbbq) but I feel like he's bitching about it not for the sake of the show or critique, but because HE doesn't like it and he's throwing a tantrum about a ship he hates.

I didn't watch the whole thing because it's essentially a 40min video of a manchild whining about some anime cartoon but choice moments were:

But it still lacks animation fundamentals that ruin those actions- any action/movement the characters make. I'll say that I don't know jack shit about fight choreography and I'm just getting used to knowing the fundamentals right now, but in art (and most likely other subjects) its absolutely necessary to demonstrate your fundamental steps before you can get into the details.

When people move, their bodies motion against gravity. Even when the body is still, there is still implications of gravity (feet being squashed slightly on the ground, muscles working with and against it). Almost all of animation will mimic the basic gravity that exists in our world. This is one of the fundamentals to know when animating characters.

The goal of animation in general is to make it believable. Pic related is a snippet from the beginning parts of Animator's Survival Kit that explains this well. In general , animations need believably in their world rather than realism. In order to do that, people study anatomy and how it moves and why it moves like that and apply it to their fictional characters. Looking at anime and cartoons, if there are characters jumping and flying up 10 ft up in the sky, there's still a sense of force occurring in their movements.

This is just one part of Monty's bad direction/animation btw, there's other problems in there like composition and bad color relationships with the objects/backgrounds in each scenes. He's not the worst animator in the world, but he isn't good.

So you can have all of the flashy, cool 5 sec. movements in your whole 8 min fight scene, but without that fundamental knowledge of motion then every single thing in that scene, and even your whole show/movie will fall apart.

In drawing terms, this will be like those pictures that follow coloring tutorials in attempts to make your drawings look pretty- but if you can't draw, its a bad picture no matter what you do. I stand by my opinion. What, as a consumer, have I got from these animators following da rulez?

Almost nothing.

Monty moves everything, little to no commentary, music in tone and it is a beating.

Current BC interrupts the fight (like in s6 Cinder vs Neo, RWBY vs Cordovin, Ruby vs Leviathan, s4 RNJR vs Fluffy, s6 Yang and Blake vs Adam, s5 RWBY vs Hazel (worst of them all).

All of them could be fights had they not paused them to deliver unnecessary, corny, edgy lines. Or long useless sentimental scenes with dramatic music pulled out of mexican stories.

Anon, I respect that you want to follow the book. But if the book means that I'm not getting jack, I'll prefer Monty's mediocrity, because within his mediocrity, I got entertained. I got fights that feel like fights. I am not here to go frame by frame to study their technique, then give them my opinion, I'm here to look at the product of their technique and then give them my opinion.

His looks and personality are derived from the character of Lampwick and the main character of A Clockwork Orange.

I think perhaps Ruby's connection to RRH is more in the form of her personality (naive and kind of gullible) only, rather than as a connection to the story at large (same with other characters. Yang and Blake also don't have a real connection to their inspirations when looking at their place in the story).

It's true that the villains are subpar. They had a huge chance of making a sympathetic character out of Adam (ruthless but only because he's trying to help his people escape racism.) but they, for some reason, shifted that role to Illia.

Same with Torchwick. Right before he dies he says he's a gambling man, and that he decided to help the people most likely to come out on top (Salem and co). It would be interesting if, for example, he didn't die at all, and he would realise later that RWBY was actually more likely to win, so he and Neo switch sides.

While Salem's backstory is interesting, sort of, I really couldn't give a shit. Her personality is nothing compared to the minor villains like Torchwick, Neo, Adam, Merc and Em, etc.

I always imagined a better version of Adam being "survival of the fittest" taken to extremes, fueled by how down-trodden he was. He doesn't just want the Faunus to succeed and thrive- he wants to be the Faunus who succeeded the most. His manipulation of the white fang and Blake always being a way to make his "tribe" bigger.

The only risk with that is you have multiple villains who egos are either "survive and thrive", ego-driven, or both. And yet another villain who manipulates others by playing to their fears/desires. Even as a recurring motif that's a bit much.

If the show was more fun, I would have hoped the season in Atlas was staged more like a heist (the vault has the First National Bank of Atlas built on top of it, and the army headquarters built on top of that). Desperate to work out how to break in, the crew turn to the criminal under and find Torchwick. Though I wouldn't say he'd switch sides. Now he's seen what Salem/Cinder can do he'd probably look for somewhere to hold up- after revenge on Ruby & co.

That just makes it worse since Alex is a gangster who rapes rapes rapes. We have a story where a villain is modeled off a protagonist infamous for his bloodshed/violation with that same villain also in the fairy tale role of the wolf (a major symbol of carnage and/or lack of inhibition) up against a young girl on the cusp of her adulthood covered in flower/blood imagery who's designed off a character from the iconic tale of the dangers that'd face young women (namely rape).

Roman is obviously supposed come-off as a depraved beast (see him stop his own escape just to get a chance at killing a teenaged girl) who has a veneer of charm but he's lacking in teeth thanks to RWBY's writing.

The first showing of Adam had him try to kill off a train in the most edgy way possible. Ilia indeed is a sloppy character. She's more or less just a retread of Adam (complete with being a dyke) but with a more obviously forced dark past to make her sympathetic enough to join Blake's band of friends (even though her backstory has her look like a school shooter telling her manifesto).

I'll point out that Bumblebee really isn't a Korrasami situation since Yang and Blake were from early on shown as at least legit friends who could confide in each-other. Korra and Asami were rivals in Lok Book One, were still hostile in Book Two, and got a forced friendship in Book Three (complete with a talk where they're insulting Mako and deflecting to Asami kissing him even though Korra was the one who cheated with her boyfriend to begin with), and got a paired ending so forced that Byke had to go on tumblr to insult random viewers for not seeing it coming.

I think I could just do one `gm identify` loop on all images, then separate the results to an 2D array, so then I could calculate $MAX_IMAGE_FILESIZE, $MAX_DIMENSIONS, & $Bitrate. $NUMBER_OF_FRAMES would be a sizeofarray()+2, and $BD should just commanded once $NUMBER_OF_FRAMES was calculated. There's a lot to optimize.

Reusing sed seems too much an overhaul than just creating variables.

The energy and resources needed to fix RWBY exceed that of creating a new original universe. At it's core it's (as RT have joked themselves) teenagers vs. monsters. In this adventure you all will be guiding the actions of a character named Verdant Octavius, rich heir to a Dusk merchant who has ties with SDC (Schnee Dust Company)! This is Verdant's first year and his team/origin have already been decided in the meta thread for this CYOA, but that doesn't mean you can't join in despite not participated. Though I'd recommend that you check the thread out to get an idea of what's going on here.

The adventure will begin at the same time Ruby Rose is starting her first year at Beacon and will follow the shows plot to a limited extent. There will be twists and turns in the path ahead, as well as romance, friendship, and heartbreak.

They stopped commissioning Humouring the Fates despite the quality because they bitched about not having control. It's all about control and ego, not the art. They may be more literate in anime than the average college student but they'll gladly skimp on paying production talent what they're worth and hire a bunch of celebrities instead. It's why Western animation has gotten terrible; nobody has any reverence for the craft and everybody participating wants the government to pay for all their material wants instead of their own work.
