Made a really bad mockup in a few minutes, and they look better with a cellshading effect to me.
Still not a big fan of the models. Bodies look too long, eyes are too close to each other, and the faces in general just look really amateurish.
I wonder why didn't they use Nendoroid models as a reference, they are the best/cutest looking 3D chibbis imho.

So I just realized the thing that irritates me the most:
Ruby should not have been in any of the skits that they had her in. She was just shoved in because she's the main person:

The scene was pretty stupid to begin with, but let's ignore that for a moment. Why is Ruby having trouble baking? We know the whole "like mother like daughter" thing is pretty strong, and her mom was apparently a super-mom who was great at baking. She should not have trouble with this.
Do you know who would have trouble baking? Weiss. The girl who grew up surrounded by caterers and people preparing everything for her. The girl who probably can't even cook Ramen properly, if she were to eat something with that much salt.
How to execute the scene better? Start off with Weiss reading something like "reminder: get cookies for dance". The store is closed. She tries to bake shit, but can't do it because she's never done it before. She tries to remain calm and pristine, but ends up getting covered in powder and making a mess. The contrast between character and action is much stronger.

Again, Weiss would have been a much better character for the particular skit. It wouldn't have been much stronger for the initial scene, sure. But for the follow-up, there's a lot more you can do there. Having her there with a smug ass expression, actually taunting Blake instead of just confronting her.
Really, the big thing that hurts here is the perspective. Rules of cinema dictate to never linger on a shot for too long, but there's more jump cuts here than there are actual transitions to character reactions or anything else.
The stupid chibis are also far too jerky and bulky to do shit properly.
I'm still fucking mad.

It got a pretty big dislike ratio (but then after that, rape jokes on "On The Spot").

I don't think they presented something bad, but you certainly pitched some ideas how to have done it better. (Like Weiss baking for Ruby. Hell, you could still have the scene where Ruby scoffs choco chips because she's an impatient childish kid).
I think Weiss makes the best candidate for most skits because she's a great foil.
Posh, uptight, sheltered, sometimes even a bit of a bitch. Everything writes itself. Problem is, turning her into the "Daffy" means she gets more screen-time than the other girls.
But if they wanted to include Ruby they could have done something else with her. But falling shy of ripping off Road Runner and having Roman trying to catch/kill her and failing due to speed or doing something childish to evade harm, I'm drawing bubkis.

Episode 4 is alright. It's a bit slow, though. It kind of seems like the writers don't seem to get the point of a quick comedy sketch is to actually be quick. The punchline needs to have punch.
It's a little predictable, but the main problem is that it drags out. all. the. sketches. so. damn. much. that. it takes thirty seconds of waiting to hear the joke even after you figure out where they're going with it.
Still, it made me smile in a few places, so it's not all bad. The Chibi style is growing on me, too. I enjoyed it, even if I kind of feel like they're running out of ideas and are trying to make the ones they have last as long as possible.

One of the OSTs unused songs had Boop, which explains Boop is how Nora shows her affection for Ren. I mean it writes itself.
After the Grim attack, Nora gets fucked up, Ren is worried about her, she reassures him she's fine by going boop. As she's taken away for treatment, out of her earshot Ren says "I love you to".

Went on way too long and had no good jokes. Feels like it was meant to go somewhere that it didn't. Jaune, Roman, Neo, and Zwei all seem to be in on a joke and are clearly acting, while the others are excluded, but why this is the case is never addressed. Roman will never not be the best.

So fucking close. Actually funny and well-delivered, up to and including the punchline, which then lingers for way too fucking long. Instead of the turn and slow walk, Blake should have leaped back out of the room at 1:48, with Velvet slamming the door behind them, as quickly as they entered, with neither of them saying anything. This is the same pacing and "less is more" problem that RT can't seem to get their heads around with everything. Characters add snarky quips, less funny than the actual punchline, after the punchline, and it dilutes the rest of it. This affected the dodgeball scene heavily, too. The little bits of RvB that I remember didn't have this problem.

Some of the episodes are now on Youtube.
And looking at some of them, it exposes a flaw mentioned in the How To Fix RWBY thread (or a video posted there).
None of the characters have strong enough personalities, or the writers don't know what they are.
The chibi sketches take any gag, and anyone can say them. Mercury makes a joke about being dumb- was he even shown as dumb in the show? They make a gag about Ren being lazy- but was he? Sure he did jack-shit, but that was more due to the writers than anything else.
The fact they are making these gags shows how a loose a grip they have on their characters.
The video I remember has a comparison with a joke with Marge in the Simpsons. When they find Mr. Burn's bear. When she says "We should see if there is a reward, then ask for double!", and when everyone else looks at her in shock she says "What, I should be greedy for once." The gag doesn't work with Homer or Bart because we'd expect them to say that. Lisa works to an extent, but with Marge in comes out of left field best.
It's not a hard and fast rule, but if any character can say an important line exactly as it's written and it still fits- then the line needs to be re-written to sound like it's from that character. Whether it's drama or comedy.

I will admit than when they are pretty funny when they made fun of themselves or grow self-aware of how Shit the RWBYUniverse was. I did like that Nora episode when she was teleported to the RT storage room and see likeminded tiny RWBY figures praising the shitty Pyrrha doll.
