Germany won’t sanction Israel over annexation – Jerusalem official

Berlin won’t cause ‘major upset’ despite stressing move would harm relations, source says ahead of visit by Foreign Minister Heiko Maas

Germany will not respond harshly to Israel’s planned unilateral annexation of parts of the West Bank, a diplomatic official in Jerusalem said Monday.

While annexation would likely cause a certain degree of damage to bilateral ties, Berlin has made plain that it does not plan to enact sanctions against the Jewish state or recognize a Palestinian state, the official said.

“Germany will not go off the deep end,” he added, speaking to Israeli reporters on conditions of anonymity. “The Germans are not in favor of sanctions, and will not recognize a Palestinian state. They are pragmatic. Their main goal is to guarantee [regional] stability. They don’t want to cause a major upset. Rather, they are going to look for ways to encourage us and the Palestinians to return to talks.”

German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas is due in Israel on Wednesday for a meeting with his counterpart Gabi Ashkenazi. Berlin is staunchly opposed to annexation and has made its view unmistakably clear.

“But the way, I know the Germans — their response will likely be more in the area of atmosphere,” the official said. “They will become less open to listen to us and our worries, and it may become more difficult for us to get them to help us in various arenas.”

Germany can also be expected to orient its response to annexation to Israel’s neighbors, the official went on. “If they see that Jordan’s and Egypt’s reactions will be less harsh than expected, the Germans will be more forgiving as well.” But even in the worst-case scenario of violence and Jordan canceling its peace agreement with Israel, the Germans will remain moderate in their response, the official said.

Historic Court Case — The Fluoride Cover Up Will Soon Be Exposed

A historic trial weighing the risks of water fluoridation is set to begin in San Francisco on Monday June 8.

For the last four years, attorneys with the Fluoride Action Network have been fighting a legal battle against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency over whether water fluoridation violates the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). A recent ruling by the judge in the case has now set the stage for a federal trial which will include three international experts in neurotoxicity testifying on the dangers of water fluoridation.

The Fluoride Action Network (FAN) is set to argue that water fluoridation violates the TSCA provisions which prohibit the “particular use” of a chemical which has been found to present an unreasonable risk to the general public. Under section 21 of the TSCA citizens are allowed to petition the EPA to regulate or ban individual chemicals.

The FAN began their legal battle in November 2016 when they joined with five organizations and five individuals to present a Citizens’ Petition under Section 21 of TSCA to the EPA. The Citizens’ Petition calls on the EPA to prohibit the addition of fluoridation chemicals to U.S. water based on the growing body of evidence showing that fluoride is a neurotoxin at doses currently used in communities around the United States.

The plaintiffs in the case include: FAN, Moms Against Fluoridation, Food & Water Watch, the American Academy of Environmental Medicine, the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology and the Organic Consumers Association.

The plaintiffs’ have presented studies to the court detailing the evidence of neurotoxic harm as part of their Proposed Findings of Fact. Dr. Paul Connett, PhD, director of FAN, points to a number of recent studies detailing the affect of fluoridation on IQ levels.

As of 2020 there have been 72 fluoride-IQ studies, of which 64 found a lower IQ among children with higher fluoride exposure,” Connett stated. “Many of the earlier studies were in places with elevated natural fluoride levels. There is now very strong evidence that fluoride damages both the fetal and infant brain at the levels used in artificially fluoridated areas.”

Hillary Clinton Calls Trump a “Failure,” Suggests Trump Supporters Don’t Have a “Beating Heart”

Twice failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton ironically had the audacity to call President Donald Trump a “failure” during an interview with the New York Times.

The 2016 failed presidential candidate also had some things to say about Trump supporters considering she suggested that they do not have a “beating heart” or “working mind.”

The Daily Wire reports: “Clinton has confined her criticism of Trump to social media over the last several weeks, becoming particularly vocal after the Park Police in Washington, D.C., cleared the streets in front of the White House so that Trump could walk across the street and speak in front of the historic St. John’s Church.”

Clinton said on Twitter in response to the President’s walk to St. John’s church: “Tonight the President of the United States used the American military to shoot peaceful protestors with rubber bullets & tear gas them, For a photo op. This is a horrifying use of presidential power against our own citizens, & has no place anywhere, let alone in America. Vote.”

Last week, Clinton, who has been in public office for decades, had the audacity to comment on systemic racism and “white privilege.”

Clinton also made similar comments during an interview with the New York Times where she immediately started criticizing those who support the President.

“It is a mystery why anybody with a beating heart and a working mind still supports him,” she said.

“If it’s about a terrible pandemic with an unprecedented virus, he tries to ignore it, tries to keep the attention on himself,” she continued. “Then when it becomes impossible to do that, he tries to seize the moment and turn it into a daily rally, like he loves to do. And then when it becomes impossible to ignore, he tries to change the subject, he tries to withdraw from the spotlight so he can come up with some other diversion and distraction for the body politic and the press.”

Clinton continued by claiming that the way the President has reacted to the rioting and looting across the country is draconian.

US arms control envoy says will have talks on nuclear arms with Russian senior diplomat

According to Bloomberg, Washington does not rule out that the extension of the New START Treaty would be among the topics

WASHINGTON, June 8. /TASS/. US Special Presidential Envoy for Arms Control Marshall Billingslea said on Monday he has agreed with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov to have talks on nuclear weapons later in the month. China has been invited.

"Today agreed with the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Ryabkov on time and place for nuclear arms negotiations in June," he wrote on his Twitter account. "China also invited. Will China show and negotiate in good faith?"

Bloomberg said earlier on Monday citing an unnamed Department of State official that Ryabkov and Billingslea would have talks in Vienna on June 22. According to the agency, Washington does not rule out that the extension of the New START Treaty would be among the topics.

The official reportedly said that Washington was not ready to discuss possible terms for the treaty extension.

In an interview with the Bolshaya Igra (Big Game) program on Russia’s TV Channel One, Ryabkov said that the Trump administration was obsessed with China and was seeking to raise this topic whenever international topics were discussed. According to the Russian senior diplomat, the United States’ rhetoric about involving China into the New START Treaty stems more from its policy towards China rather than from considerations of security.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on May 19 that Russian and the United States were planning to organize a videoconference on matters of strategic stability. He said he had agreed with US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo to establish contacts between US Special Presidential Envoy for Arms Control Marshall Billingslea and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.

Ryabkov told TASS on May 11 that Russia offered the United States to extend the New START Treaty for a term of five years to use this time to elaborate a new mechanism.

New START

The Treaty between the United States of America and the Russian Federation on Measures for the Further Reduction and Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms (the New START Treaty) entered into force on February 5, 2011. The document stipulates that seven years after its entry into effect each party should have no more than a total of 700 deployed intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM), submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBM) and strategic bombers, as well as no more than 1,550 warheads on deployed ICBMs, deployed SLBMs and strategic bombers, and a total of 800 deployed and non-deployed ICBM launchers, SLBM launchers and strategic bombers.

The New START Treaty will remain in force for 10 years, until 2021, unless it is replaced before that date by a subsequent agreement on the reduction and limitation of strategic offensive arms. It can also be extended for no longer than 5 years (that is, until 2026) by the parties’ mutual consent.

Moscow has repeatedly called on Washington not to delay prolongation of the treaty it describes as the gold standards in the area of disarmament.

Minneapolis City Council members announced intentions to proceed with disbanding the police force, with council President Lisa Bender on Sunday saying the council voted in favor of ending "our city's toxic relationship with the Minneapolis Police Department."

“This Is Just The Start”: US Bankruptcies Soar 48% In May, Most Since Financial Crisis

One month ago, when showing the uncanny correlation between defaults and the unemployment rates, we predicted that the number of Chapter 11 filings that is about to flood the US will be nothing short of biblical.

All that was missing was a catalyst; one which according to Bloomberg arrived in late May as retail landlords started sending out thousands of default notices to tenants, who in turn experienced a collapse in foot traffic, sales and cash flow due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and were simply unable to pay their debt obligations.

According to Bloomberg, restaurants, department stores, apparel merchants and specialty chains have been receiving notices from landlords – some of whom have gone as long as three months without receiving rent.

“The default letters from landlords are flying out the door,” said Andy Graiser, co-president of commercial real estate company, A&G Real Estate Partners. “It’s creating a real fear in the marketplace.”

Pressure from default notices and follow-up actions like locking up stores or terminating leases was cited in the bankruptcies of Modell’s Sporting Goods and Stage Stores Inc. Many chains stopped paying rent after the pandemic shuttered most U.S. stores, gambling that they could hold on to some cash before landlords demanded payment.

An estimated $7.4 billion in rent for April hasn’t been paid (May numbers have yet to be released), or about 45% of what’s owed, according to a recent analysis by CoStar Group, which also found that just a quarter of of expected rent payments have been received by landlords.

Appointment raises eyebrows, as far-right author and radio talk show host has a history of attacking Democratic US presidents and presidential hopefuls

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has hired prominent right-wing journalist Aaron Klein as his new strategic and communications consultant, the Likud party announced Monday.

Klein, 41, has advised Netanyahu for several months, but in recent weeks quit his job as Israel correspondent for the far-right Breitbart website to work for Likud full-time.

Netanyahu praised Klein’s contribution from a stage in the Tel Aviv fairgrounds early on election night, March 3, after it became clear that Likud had become the Knesset’s largest faction with 36 seats.

Klein’s new appointment made waves on social media, since the adviser is considered a hardline Republican who has written books attacking Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, and since the Democratic party’s latest presidential candidate, Joe Biden, leads incumbent Donald Trump in polls ahead of the November election.

A Philadelphia native who has been in living in Jerusalem for several years, Klein will not replace the prime minister’s spokesperson, Shir Cohen, and the post of spokesperson for the international media remains vacant. Worried About Burglary in a Post-Police World? Check Your Privilege, Minneapolis Leader Says

If Black Lives Matter activists want to abolish the police, perhaps they should be prepared to explain who exactly will keep law and order if the police are gone. When confronted with just such a question, Minneapolis City Council President Lisa Bender not only dodged the question but also attacked the question itself as coming from “a place of privilege.”

Bender, who led the City Council in announcing that it is working on “ending the Minneapolis Police Department,” acted as though the ability to call the cops during a home invasion is a “privilege” that black people do not have.

“Do you understand that the word ‘dismantle’ or ‘police-free’ also makes some people nervous?” CNN’s Alyson Camerota asked Bender. “For instance, what if in the middle of the night my home is broken into. Who do I call?”

“Yes, I hear that loud and clear from a lot of my neighbors,” the city council president replied. “And I know — and myself, too, and I know that that [concern] comes from a place of privilege because for those of us for whom the system is working, I think we need to step back and imagine what it would feel like to already live in that reality where calling the police may mean more harm is done.”

Yes, Bender said that concerns about who will stop a burglary in the middle of the night are evidence of “privilege.” Personal safety, private property, the integrity of a person’s home is a “privilege” in her eyes.

Camerota’s question is a serious concern. The police exist to protect the lives, liberties, and properties of citizens and to enforce the law equally. While certain officers have abused that authority to kill unarmed black people like George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, that does not mean police forces need to be abolished. In both cases, the police responsible have been arrested and will face charges. Derek Chauvin, the man who knelt on George Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes, suffocating him, has rightly been charged with murder.

Contrary to the activist narrative, horrific deaths like theirs are rare. According to the Washington Post‘s tracker of police-involved shootings, police have killed fewer than ten unarmed black people for the last two years. In 2018 and 2019, the number of police officers killed by black assailants was actually higher.

Police reform is necessary, but abolishing or defunding the police will only create new problems — and likely harm the very people activists intend to help. It is the police’s duty to protect black citizens from home invasions just as much as it is their duty to protect citizens of other races. Contrary to Bender’s disgusting insinuation, concerns about this kind of protection do not come from “a place of privilege” — they are the fundamental response to her radical agenda.

While it appears the FBI does not report specific statistics on the race of burglary victims, black Americans are proportionately more likely to be victimized by violent crime, including burglary. While they only make up about 13 percent of America’s population, 21.6 percent of violent crime victims were black in 2018, according to the FBI. Tragically, 27.4 percent of offenders were also black.

Black Americans across the country rely on the police to protect their homes from burglary and home invasion. If a black man or woman who experienced a home invasion were to ask City Council President Bender the same question as Camerota — “What if in the middle of the night my home is broken into. Who do I call?” — would Bender dismiss it as coming from “a place of privilege?”

Facebook-owned Instagram is now censoring FBI crime statistic graphs as "hate speech," according to Blaze TV's Elijah Schaffer.

Trump Is a Threat to the Constitution? Really, General Mattis?

The accusation that President Trump in some way threatens the Constitution is the most disgusting expression of hypocrisy that I have heard in nearly half a century of journalism–no exceptions. It is so monstrously false that it is shocking to hear it from the likes of Gen. James Mattis and Gen. Colin Powell.

A conspiracy to drive Donald Trump from office through lies, leaks and larceny began before he took office and continues to the present day. Alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia was an outrageous hoax. The spurious charges against Gen. Mike Flynn have been exposed as a concoction of FBI officials working for the Hillary Clinton camp. The entire disgusting business has been a lie of whole cloth from the outset. And it constitutes the most grievous threat to the US Constitution in our lifetimes–in fact, since the Confederate insurrection of 1861. A clique of bureaucrats and politicians conspired with the major media to frame the president of the United States, with the objective of nullifying the will of the American people as expressed in the free and fair of election of November 2016.

And now Gen. James Mattis and Gen. Colin Powell have the effrontery to call President Trump a threat to the Constitution. Said Mattis: “When I joined the military, some 50 years ago, I swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution. Never did I dream that troops taking that same oath would be ordered under any circumstance to violate the constitutional rights of their fellow citizens.”

Violate constitutional rights? How? George H. W. Bush sent 4,000 soldiers and marines into Los Angeles in 1992 to suppress riots that ensued on the acquittal of police officers in the Rodney King case. The elder President Bush used the same authority–the 1807 Insurrection Act–that President Trump cited. No-one ever accused Bush of violating the Constitution for deploying troops. How did President Trump violate the Constitution by warning that he would deploy troops if state and local governments failed to protect life and property?

There are plenty of legitimate grounds to criticize Trump’s policies as well as his abrasive style. But we are well past that. The issue boils down to whether a self-appointed elite of universities, corporations, think-tanks and major media outlets has the right to rule us, or whether the American people have the right to decide who will sit in the Oval Office. I’m an always-Trumper not because I agree with the president about everything–although I agree with most of what he does and proposes–but because the survival of American democracy and the integrity of the Constitution are at stake.

The putschists and coup-plotters in the liberal Establishment, aided and abetted by seditious Republican turncoats, are a gang of yellow-bellied, backstabbing, bushwacking, dry-gulching, reprobates. It’s sad that a man like Gen. Mattis, who served his country with distinction, has joined this gang. It’s legitimate to disagree with the president about the use of the military for riot control; the military, after all, is designed to inflict mayhem on our enemies, not control civil disturbances. But to claim that Trump threatens the Constitution is hypocrisy, when the threat to the Constitution comes from the conspiracy to bring Trump down.

Mayor de Blasio: ‘We Do Not Want ICE In This City’

When asked Monday to respond to reports that ICE agents were present in Brooklyn to support the New York Police Department amid violent riots in the wake of George Floyd’s death, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said he had no knowledge of the incident, adding that he would never personally ‘welcome’ agents into the city.

“I would not let ICE agents anywhere in the official capacity in New York City, except for what they’re allowed to do on their own. I’ve said ICE agents are not welcome in our public buildings. I have no knowledge and really don’t believe that happened. If anyone has evidence of it, I need to know it,” de Blasio said.

He continued, “We do not want ICE in this city. And the times when they have come forward trying to get into a city building, for example, they’ve been told only if they have warrants and the law department approves it. So we’ve been very consistent about that.”

A video posted to social media by an immigration rights group last week appeared to show an immigration official arresting what appeared to be a protestor. HSI New York spokesperson Rachael Yong Yow told TIME Magazine that the agents were supporting the work of local law enforcement and that the incident wasn’t immigration related.

Mexican Cartels Are Entirely Spinning Out of Control: Photos, Videos

On June 7th, in Mexico clashes took place between Cartel Del Noreste (CDN) of Los Zetas and Cártel del Golfo (the Gulf Cartel, CDG) in the town of Comales, Camargo municipality, Tamaulipas.

The clashes involved the CDN which attacked the town with upwards of 20 armored technical vehicles, outnumbering the CDG whose members begin fleeing.

Meanwhile, cartel violence appears to be growing even further and crime gangs are roaming the streets, while the local police can do little to counter any of their activities.

All around Mexico over the weekend there were clashes, there’s numerous photographs and videos showing the aftermath of the clashes, with civilian being killed on the streets.

Attacks took place in Colonia, reportedly 4 were killed and 2 were injured.

Elsewhere, in Huimanguillo municipality, 4 police officers were executed by cartel members.

In Coacalco, 2 men and 1 woman were killed in a cartel attack.

A decapitated man was found in the Yaqui Valley, and it is a suspected cartel killing.

Meanwhile, throughout all the violence a new cartel – Jalisco New Generation appears to be taking over, famous for its ruthlessness and violence unlike any since the fall of the old Zetas cartel.

In many parts of Mexico, the new cartel is fighting battles that remind of medieval sieges – with fortified redoubts, and it is moving towards Mexico City, as well as towards the tourist resorts around Cancun, and the northern border.

The Jalisco cartel attempt to purchase belt-fed M-60 machine guns in the United States, and once brought down a Mexican military helicopter with a rocket-propelled grenade.

Jalisco is also mounting a propaganda campaign, using videos and social media to threaten rivals while promising civilians that it won’t prey on them with extortion and kidnappings.

A typical promise, in the form of a distorted “election campaign” promise, which is seldom kept.

“It seems like the Jalisco New Generation group is taking over everywhere,” said a priest in the western city of Apatzingan. “It seems like they allow people to work, and they don’t prey on civilians, they don’t kidnap, they don’t steal vehicles, they just go about their drug business.”

In short: the Jalisco cartel is terrifying: the cartel has made the city of Guadalajara and surrounding suburbs into a giant clandestine grave site.

Hundreds of bodies have been found in the last year, dumped in drainage canals, buried in fields and the patios and yards of homes. Bodies have been found dissolved in acid or lye, bodies have been found in plastic bags.

So many bodies have been found in Guadalajara that authorities ran out of space at the morgue and took to moving rotting bodies around in refrigerated trucks until neighbors complained about the smell.

The COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown actually made it easier for cartels to spread their influence and made the clashes even worse, as competition is ramping up and they are attempting to put ever more areas under their control.

Chicago Weekend Violence: 31 Shot, 5 Fatally

Over the weekend, 31 people were shot in Chicago, five of them fatally, ABC 7 reports.

On Sunday, six men were injured in a drive-by shooting, the news site reported. The suspect is still at large.

A police officer was also shot while responding to a domestic dispute but is said to be in good condition.

The report comes as the city saw a number of protests and riots in response to the death of George Floyd. The City’s Mayor Lori Lightfoot lifted a citywide curfew Sunday, which was in place for days and required residents to go home by 9 p.m.

Asymptomatic spread of coronavirus is ‘very rare,’ WHO says

Coronavirus patients without symptoms aren’t driving the spread of the virus, World Health Organization officials said Monday, casting doubt on concerns by some researchers that the disease could be difficult to contain due to asymptomatic infections.

Some people, particularly young and otherwise healthy individuals, who are infected by the coronavirus never develop symptoms or only develop mild symptoms. Others might not develop symptoms until days after they were actually infected.

Preliminary evidence from the earliest outbreaks indicated that the virus could spread from person-to-person contact, even if the carrier didn’t have symptoms. But WHO officials now say that while asymptomatic spread can occur, it is not the main way it’s being transmitted.

“From the data we have, it still seems to be rare that an asymptomatic person actually transmits onward to a secondary individual,” Dr. Maria Van Kerkhove, head of WHO’s emerging diseases and zoonosis unit, said at a news briefing from the United Nations agency’s Geneva headquarters. “It’s very rare.”

Government responses should focus on detecting and isolating infected people with symptoms, and tracking anyone who might have come into contact with them, Van Kerkhove said. She acknowledged that some studies have indicated asymptomatic or presymptomatic spread in nursing homes and in household settings.

More research and data are needed to “truly answer” the question of whether the coronavirus can spread widely through asymptomatic carriers, Van Kerkhove added.

“We have a number of reports from countries who are doing very detailed contact tracing,” she said. “They’re following asymptomatic cases. They’re following contacts. And they’re not finding secondary transmission onward. It’s very rare.”

If asymptomatic spread proves to not be a main driver of coronavirus transmission, the policy implications could be tremendous. A report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention published on April 1 cited the “potential for presymptomatic transmission” as a reason for the importance of social distancing.

“These findings also suggest that to control the pandemic, it might not be enough for only persons with symptoms to limit their contact with others because persons without symptoms might transmit infection,” the CDC study said.

To be sure, asymptomatic and presymptomatic spread of the virus appears to still be happening, Van Kerkhove said but remains rare. That finding has important implications for how to screen for the virus and limit its spread.

“What we really want to be focused on is following the symptomatic cases,” Van Kerkhove said. “If we actually followed all of the symptomatic cases, isolated those cases, followed the contacts and quarantined those contacts, we would drastically reduce” the outbreak.

Trump issues huge warning to world governments to respect religious freedom

Trump’s International Religious Freedom Executive Order means that if world govts persecute people of faith, the US will find out about it, and there will be consequences

June 8, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) – The Trump Administration has been a stalwart defender of religious liberty at home. Now a new presidential order puts America squarely on the side of protecting and advancing religious liberty abroad.

The new executive order, signed on June 2, is called “Advancing International Religious Freedom.” Its intent is to put religious freedom on an equal footing with the many other American interests that our diplomats are charged to advance.

Such an order has long been sorely needed. As someone who has worked on human rights issues for decades, I can personally attest to the fact that human rights concerns in general, and religious freedom issues in particular, are neglected in U.S. foreign policy. Economic, trade, and security issues are put in one “basket,” and are pursued with vigor and persistence. Religious freedom issues are placed in a second “basket”, which is all too often given much less attention by America’s diplomats.

If you are learning about the new executive order for the first time, you are not alone. The mainstream media, not surprisingly, has almost totally ignored the President’s action. For the most part, its “reporters” are too busy breathlessly hyping the orchestrated anarchy that has gripped American streets, too busy concocting false narratives about the actions of this President, and far too hostile to religious believers in general, to even bother taking notice.

“Advancing International Religious Freedom” begins with a resounding declaration:

“Religious freedom, America’s first freedom, is a moral and national security imperative. Religious freedom for all people worldwide is a foreign policy priority of the United States, and the United States will respect and vigorously promote this freedom … our Founders understood religious freedom not as a creation of the state, but as a gift of God to every person and a right that is fundamental for the flourishing of our society.”

Lest anyone discount this as mere rhetoric, the executive order follows with a series of concrete action items, beginning with what is essentially a warning to governments to respect religious freedom: “It is the policy of the United States to engage robustly and continually with [religious communities and organizations]— including those in foreign countries — to inform United States Government policies, programs, and activities related to international religious freedom.”

In other words, if you persecute people of faith, we will find out about it, and there will be consequences.
