- Revisiting Biden-Poroshenko Corruption -

The Office of the Prosecutor General (OPG) has instructed the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NACB)

and the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) to investigate the criminal proceedings that were launched

in connection with the audiotapes of conversations that took place between former United States

vice president Joseph Biden and former Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko on November 16, 2016,

which Member of Parliament Andrii Derkach (independent) made public on Tuesday.

Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova announced this to the Ukrainian News Agency.

According to Venediktova, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau will investigate the proceedings under

the Criminal Code’s Article 364 (abuse of power or official position) and the Security Service of

Ukraine will investigate them under Article 111 (high treason).

She did not provide further details.

Venediktova later clarified that investigation of the criminal proceedings under Article 111 of the

Criminal Code would be handled by the State Bureau of Investigation.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Office of Prosecutor General has opened criminal

proceedings based on Derkach’s tapes of conversations between Biden and Poroshenko.

According to the tapes, Poroshenko asked Biden to pressure the Samopomich parliamentary faction to

support appointment of former finance minister Natalia Yaresko as Ukraine’s prime minister in 2016.

How a fake letter revived a claim the UK bugged Donald Trump

Feb 1, 2018

OnJune 22, 2017, an anonymous user under the poster ID “yFIaEkoh” posted a forged letter to 4chan, an online forum popular with far-right and conspiracy theorist groups. The letter claimed to show that Britain’s electronic intelligence agency, GCHQ, spied during the 2016 U.S. presidential elections on the campaign of then-candidate Donald Trump at the behest of President Barack Obama.

Despite repeated exposure as a fraud, including on 4chan itself, the letter continued to circulate and was used to bolster claims that Trump remains the victim of an international “deep state” conspiracy aimed at undermining his presidency.

@DFRLab tracked the forgery across the internet, as a case study in how fakes can continue to spread through willing or engaged audiences, even when their falsehood is manifest.

The letter — content

The letter, dated November 2016, purported to be a request from then-GCHQ director Robert Hannigan to UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, to extend permission “to surveil” Trump’s New York headquarters, “at the request of the US President”.

The text of the letter provided some logistical details, which implicated then-National Security Advisor Susan Rice.

To judge by the image posted online, the letter had been printed out on GCHQ headed paper, signed by Hannigan, then folded twice and scanned:

However, several internal factors confirm that the letter was a forgery. Paragraph four referred to “former MI5 agent Michael Steele,” who had provided “actionable leads” on apparent “communications with Russian hostile actors.” This was a glaring error: in fact, it was a former MI6 agent, Christopher Steele, who produced a dossier on Trump’s Russian connections.

Even if the author of a “TOP SECRET” document had been so sloppy as to give the source’s name — which is unlikely — it is beyond plausibility that they would get both Steele’s first name and his affiliation wrong in a communication with their own government.

The term “to surveil” was also indicative. For one thing, the verb is typical of American English, rather than British; for another, “surveillance” is a term proper to human intelligence, not signals intelligence, which is GCHQ’s remit. This may appear a technicality, but GCHQ is a technical organization.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump on Wednesday threatened to hold up federal funds for two election battleground states that are trying to make it easier and safer to vote during the coronavirus pandemic. He backed away from that threat but stuck with his unsupported claim that widespread voting by mail promotes “a lot of illegality.”

White House withdraws nominee to head ATF after GOP concerns over views on gun rights | Just The News

The White House has withdrawn its nominee to head the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives several months after Republicans voiced concern over the candidate's track record on gun rights.

Chuck Canterbury, previously the president of the Fraternal Order of Police, faced opposition from Republican members of the Senate Judiciary Committee in July due to the FOP's historical support of gun control policies. Canterbury dodged questions from Republican senators over those matters.

He was criticized at the time by Judiciary Committee members, including Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy, who told him the senators were "entitled to know both morally and legally what you believe" about gun control.

The White House announced on Tuesday that it was withdrawing Canterbury from the nomination process. The police official had actually been re-nominated by Trump in February after efforts stalled last year.

He had not run for re-election as president of the FOP due to his nomination; he has since been succeeded in that role.

ABC's long-running daytime women's talk show "The View," has long been perceived by conservatives as a bastion of the left. On Wednesday night, President Trump's campaign decided to give it some competition, launching its own women's talk show called "The Right View."

The campaign touted the new weekly program online Tuesday afternoon with a sizzle reel for the show, including a logo, theme song and live-audience soundtrack.

“For too long, women on ABC’s ‘The View’ have believed they represent all women’s views," Mercedes Schlapp, Trump 2020 senior advisor for strategic communications, told Just the News. "They project the fake news’ narrative to viewers across the country and are obsessed with their blatant hatred of President Trump.

It's bad enough that Judge Sullivan is refusing to dismiss the case against Flynn.

It's even worse that his decision was influenced by a WaPo opinion column written by David O'Neil.

O'Neil is the lawyer for Sally Yates - who witnessed/participated in the effort to oust Flynn.

Of course, the Washington Post fails to inform its readers that David O'Neil represents Sally Yates.
