Graham discussed the strategy in more detail on Fox News, saying that Trump could use the issue in the midterm elections to go after Democratic Sens. Joe Donnelly of Indiana, Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota, Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Claire McCaskill of Missouri. The four Democrats represent Republican-leaning states that Trump won in 2016.
Trump could announce to voters in those states that he would nominate Kavanaugh again in 2019, after a new Senate convenes, Graham said.
"The midterm elections are only 35 days away and a new group of senators may view Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination very differently after hearing from the voters in their states," Graham said in his statement.
Asked about Graham's idea, Trump told reporters Tuesday that "certainly it's interesting."
If Democrats win the Senate, Kavanaugh would be a non-starter. However, there are more vulnerable Democrats than Republicans in this year's midterm elections.
Graham, who serves on the Senate Judiciary Committee, has been a fierce defender of Kavanaugh despite allegations that Kavanaugh engaged in sexual misconduct while he was drunk in high school and college. "If the FBI is permitted to do a thorough, serious, and professional investigation - as it is certainly capable of doing - and if agents discover additional facts as a result of that investigation, those facts could help confirm or refute statements made by Dr. Ford or Judge Kavanaugh," said Chuck Rosenberg, former FBI legal counsel and an NBC News analyst.
"Those facts would also be helpful if either is interviewed by the FBI, because additional information can help refresh memories or demonstrate inconsistencies. The more facts, the better, because more facts move you closer to the truth."
They also pointed out that prosecutor Rachel Mitchell, who questioned Ford in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee last week, said that the five-minute increments for questioning Ford was not ideal.
In summary, expect Democrats to declare that this latest miscarriage of justice is an outrage that justifies another week-long delay of Kavanaugh's confirmation. Or even that lawmakers should revisit the issue after the midterms.

For the many low wage Amazon workers — both full time and temporary — set to receive a raise thanks to the just announced boost in minimum pay to $15/hour, the news is certainly a big plus. It should also be noted that had Amazon not been subject to intense scrutiny and criticism from the likes of Bernie Sanders and others, Jeff Bezos never would have responded with such an aggressive move. That said, if you think a little beyond the surface level about why he’s doing this now and what his real motives are, it becomes clear nobody should take this move at face value.

Florida Man Says He Planned To Kill 400+ People: “It’ll Be a Devastating Day For America”
TAMPA — On Monday, Hernando County Sheriff’s deputies were alerted to several posts made on social media by an individual identified as Blake Dudkewic. The posts detailed violent crimes that Dudkewic planned to carry out.
Just minutes before contacting our office, the caller observed a post on her Facebook news feed, made by Dudkewic, describing in detail the way he wanted to kill his father. Knowing that Dudkewic suffers from various issues, the caller responded with a message of support, encouraging Dudkewic to seek help and/or treatment.
Dudkewic responded to the post of support with a message about committing a mass shooting, stating he planned to kill more than 400 people. Dudkewic went on to post that he had purchased an AR-15 and would be using that to commit the mass shooting. One of Dudkewic’s posts stated that this will be “the most deaths in the history of this XXX country” “my rampage will kill more than 400 people…promise” and “it’ll be a devastating day for America.”
Deputies responded to Dudkewic’s father’s residence in Hernando County to check his well-being. Dudkewic’s father was fine and safe in his residence. He told deputies he lost contact with his son due to threats, similar to this, which his son made in the past. He then provided a possible address for his son.
Deputies contacted the Tampa Police Department and requested they check the address for Dudkewic so that a Baker Act assessment could be made. Additionally, an Alert Bulletin was sent to all surrounding agencies, in the event they spotted Dudkewic or unknowingly conducted a Traffic Stop on him.
All of Dudkewic’s previous addresses were checked to no avail.
Investigation revealed that Dudkewic was possibly in the area of I-75 and I-4 in Tampa.
Officers with the Tampa Police Department were unable to locate Dudkewic at the address provided.
At around 4 a.m., detectives with the Seminole Tribal Police located Dudkewic’s vehicle at the Camp Knox Motel on E. Highway 92 in Tampa. Dudkewic was taken into protective custody at this location by the Seminole Tribal Police with assistance from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
A Hernando County warrant for the arrest of Blake Stanley Dudkewic is forthcoming. He will be charged with Written Threats to Kill.

New York state tax officials have launched a review into allegations in a New York Times article that President Trump participated in "dubious" tax schemes in the 1990s that helped him earn additional wealth from his father's real estate business.

More than 800,000 people registered to vote last week on National Voter Registration Day, setting a new record for the annual event.
This year's drive took place on Sept. 25, and it exceeded the previous high of 771,321 set in 2016.
The event began in 2012. The group's only registration drive during a previous midterm election year, 2014, led to 154,500 people registering to vote, according to Time.
Brian Miller, executive director of Nonprofit VOTE, the group that runs the registration drive, told Time that the final tally is a sign of heightened interest in this year's midterms.
“I think people are realizing that midterms do matter and that it’s vital for people to get engaged,” Miller said, adding that the group had “better coordination” and more partners, including Facebook and Twitter, allowing them to recruit more potential voters.
Democratic and nonpartisan advocacy groups have been focusing heavily on voter registration this election cycle, hoping to increase turnout and put Congress back under the control of Democrats.
Former first lady Michelle Obama is co-chairing voter registration group When We All Vote, which is hitting the road with a number of events featuring celebrities.
The survivors of the Parkland, Fla., school shooting have also urged young people to register to vote as part of their March For Our Lives movement.
