From a former cult member: Ruminations on cabal/lib/DNC mind control.

I recently turned 60. Before my 20th Bday, I joined one of the popular religious cults at the time - annoying, arrogant, and incredibly compromised. No, not that one, the other one. I joined because of an exciting work opportunity to do something I was qualified to do, but would have otherwise struggled to be able to do outside of the cult (competition, too young). The work was the draw, and the all encompassing, absolutist spiritual encirclement overwhelmed me. Bye bye family, friends, future plans, normal behavior, thinking, lifestyle, appearance, speaking patterns, and all prior spiritual and religious beliefs.

The specific project I was working on involved close association with the top leadership of a large metropolitan community, which was not the normal indoctrination process for new members of this group. Unlike the experience of most members, on a daily basis I overheard conversations with other leaders throughout the US and world (an international cult), either in person, or on the phone. I heard things I should not have heard, accounts of disturbing controversies and legal matters, including unethical and immoral behavior by leaders supposedly above earthly impulses, the very thing they professed to have advanced beyond spiritually, and what their followers believed about them. Like most cults, that was key to maintaining membership, the impression of spiritually advanced status/connection to god/enlightenment of the leaders.

It was that exposure of their true nature that caused me to walk away. Actually, I had to sneak away, in the cover of darkness, after breaking in to an office (by climbing up a tree and dangling on a 2nd story ledge while prying open a window I unlocked earlier in the day) to use one of the only two phones across the large compound facility. I called a taxi, which took me to a bus terminal, then back home to a very relieved family.

Though I walked out, I needed help understanding what happened to me. Help came in the form of other former members (who I agreed to speak with at the request of my family), and even then it was a struggle for me to accept the idea that I had been exposed to mind control and brainwashing techniques. What turned me around was the enormity of the accounts of abuse and corruption within the group. Naturally, I had not heard any of that before joining and becoming emotionally invested in the group and it's beliefs. I don't doubt for a second that had I known what I learned, I would never have gotten involved with the cult in the first place. Kind of simple, really. "Hey, don't listen to them because of this, this and this." "Oh! OK. Thanks a lot!"

Keep in mind my cult involvement was during a time (early 80's) well before the internet, so the only sources of information (specific accounts of abuse, exposure of corruption, mind control) were from those who personally experienced it. If those people were not available to talk, folders filled with copies of typed personal accounts from former members were made available through the Cult Awareness Network. Newspaper clippings, magazine articles and pages from books were also helpful.

Amazed by what I learned about the human mind and ideological extremism (applies to religious, political, scientific beliefs), and grateful for the experience of having been extracted (rescued) from the grip of mind control, I would go on to become an "expert" on the subject of both cults and extremism, and used that insight to free others. I worked with deprogrammers for a time, helping those willing to talk, as well as some unwilling. Oh the stories, including extracting the son of Polynesian royalty out the back door of a hotel hogtied to a wood hanger pole, mouth taped shut and enclosed in a sleeping bag. At the command of Jesus the evil spirits departed from their

But the purposes of Christ were not thwarted. He allowed the

evil spirits to destroy the herd of swine as a rebuke to those Jews who

were raising these unclean beasts for the sake of gain. Had not Christ

restrained the demons, they would have plunged into the sea, not

only the swine, but also their keepers and owners. The preservation

of both the keepers and the owners was due alone to His power,

mercifully exercised for their deliverance. Furthermore, this event

was permitted to take place that the disciples might witness the cruel

power of Satan upon both man and beast. The Saviour desired His

followers to have a knowledge of the foe whom they were to meet,

that they might not be deceived and overcome by his devices. It was

also His will that the people of that region should behold His power

to break the bondage of Satan and release his captives. And though

Jesus Himself departed, the men so marvelously delivered, remained

to declare the mercy of their Benefactor.

Other instances of a similar nature are recorded in the Scriptures.

The daughter of the Syrophoenician woman was grievously vexed

with a devil, whom Jesus cast out by His word. (Mark 7:26-30).

“One possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb” (Matthew 12:22); a

youth who had a dumb spirit, that ofttimes “cast him into the fire,

and into the waters, to destroy him” (Mark 9:17-27); the maniac

who, tormented by “a spirit of an unclean devil” (Luke 4:33-36),

disturbed the Sabbath quiet of the synagogue at Capernaum—all

were healed by the compassionate Saviour. In nearly every instance,

Christ addressed the demon as an intelligent entity, commanding

him to come out of his victim and to torment him no more. The

worshipers at Capernaum, beholding His mighty power, “were all

amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this!

for with authority and power He commandeth the unclean spirits,
