In Shakespeare's day, much of the world was still being colonized by European merchants and settlers, and stories were coming back from the Americas, with myths about the Cannibals of the Caribbean, faraway Edens, and distant tropical Utopias. With the character Caliban (whose name is almost an anagram of Cannibal and also resembles "Cariban", the term then used for natives in the West Indies), Shakespeare may be offering an in-depth discussion into the morality of colonialism. Different views of this are found in the play, with examples including Gonzalo's Utopia, Prospero's enslavement of Caliban, and Caliban's subsequent resentment. Caliban is also shown as one of the most natural characters in the play, being very much in touch with the natural world (and modern audiences have come to view him as far nobler than his two Old World friends, Stephano and Trinculo, although the original intent of the author may have been different). There is evidence that Shakespeare drew on Montaigne's essay Of Cannibals—which discusses the values of societies insulated from European influences—while writing The Tempest.[30]

Beginning in about 1950, with the publication of Psychology of Colonization by Octave Mannoni, The Tempest was viewed more and more through the lens of postcolonial theory. This new way of looking at the text explored the effect of the coloniser (Prospero) on the colonised (Ariel and Caliban). Though Ariel is often overlooked in these debates in favour of the more intriguing Caliban, he is nonetheless an essential component of them.[31] The French writer Aimé Césaire, in his play Une Tempête sets The Tempest in Haiti, portraying Ariel as a mulatto who, unlike the more rebellious Caliban, feels that negotiation and partnership is the way to freedom from the colonisers. Fernandez Retamar sets his version of the play in Cuba, and portrays Ariel as a wealthy Cuban (in comparison to the lower-class Caliban) who also must choose between rebellion or negotiation.[32] Although scholars have suggested that his dialogue with Caliban in Act two, Scene one, contains hints of a future alliance between the two when Prospero leaves, Ariel is generally viewed by scholars as the good servant, in comparison with the conniving Caliban—a view which Shakespeare's audience may well have shared.[33][not in citation given (See discussion.)] Ariel is used by some postcolonial writers as a symbol of their efforts to overcome the effects of colonisation on their culture. The Tempest has only one female character, Miranda. Other women, such as Caliban's mother Sycorax, Miranda's mother and Alonso's daughter Claribel, are only mentioned. What did POTUS pick up?

Man this timeline is nuts right now. From the new potential revelations about a wire being worn as collateral in the case their other plans failed, to the FISA impending release, bullshit artist Ford now asking the meeting to be delayed from Monday to Thursday to circumvent the current session and break the vote potential, to the six fucking sun spot observatories being taken offline and the list goes on.

To you Q (as its been awhile), I have long stated on the chans that those observatories were highly suspect for our national security if a foreign entity was able to get employed at them and especially after China ninja'd a "space monitoring" base in Chile last year which, coincidentally, is one of the locations (coincidence? no..) of an observatory "closure" last week.

Only two (well three) options I see:

1) All this is coincidence.

2) Much like them including counters they could exploit in our drones and military hardware chips which the POTUS quickly took care of after taking office (thank you very much for this you glorious SOB you), they (money is very much on China) began to use the observatories for spying on us.

3) Observatories found something near the Sun and the authorities rushed to take all evidence of whatever it was to assure they could study it before the public caught wind.

My money is on #2 and especially so considering the specific locations and how a "new" search warrant was produced in terms of the New Mexico observatory claiming the shut down of the entire place and the local post office was based on the janitor downloading CP. As bad as CP is, I just don't see an entire FBI task force shutting down an entire sunspot observatory to pick up one asshole on the (literally) exact same day that five other sun observatories were shutdown. US Pledges $3.3 Billion in Military Aid to Israel, but Cuts Humanitarian Aid to Palestinians

The US House of Representatives passed two separate Israel related bills this week, endorsing what is being described as the largest aid package in American history and the appointment of an international tsar to monitor anti-Semitism and criticism of Israel worldwide.

The military aid package of $3.3 billion will be delivered to Israel over the next year. This figure is likely to increase by an additional $550 million as a result of Congress passing a $716 billion defence bill. A further $1 billion has been set aside for the US weapons stockpiles in Israel, which Israel taps into during escalations of violence against the Palestinians and Lebanon. In 2016, the US agreed to give Israel $38 billion in military aid over 10 years.

The bill passed under the cover of a media blackout and at the same time that President Donald Trump pulled humanitarian aid to the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) which provides basic provisions for over five million Palestinian refugees.

In August, the bill officially called the “United States-Israel Security Assistance Authorization Act of 2018” passed a Senate vote. Representing what is believed to be the single largest military aid package in American history, according to Mintpress the astronomical sum translates into $23,000 for every Jewish family living in Israel.

In addition to the massive amount that the new legislation promises to the Israeli military, the bill will also mandate NASA to cooperate closely with the Israel Space Agency. The decision has been described as very unusual in light of the Israel’s history of espionage targeting NASA.

The second bill passed by Congress has also been largely overlooked by the media. It calls for a special government envoy to be tasked with monitoring anti-Semitism and criticism of Israel worldwide.

According to the text of the bill –the “Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism Act of 2017” – the postholder would “serve as the primary advisor to, and coordinate efforts across, the United States government relating to monitoring and combating anti-Semitism and anti-Semitic incitement that occur in foreign countries.” The envoy is expected to be given the rank of an ambassador.

Opponents of the bill have pointed to the problematic nature of it citing the Congress adoption of a definition of anti-Semitism that equates criticism of Israel with racism. It’s feared that the new appointee will clamp down on domestic and international criticism of the Israeli government in a clear attack on free speech.

Man sentenced to 10 years after daughter finds child porn on his phone, turns him in

A Colorado man was sentenced Sept. 14 to more than 10 years in prison, after his daughter discovered child pornography on the repeat sex offender’s cellphone and turned it over to police.

What are the details?

Frank Steven Wietecha Jr., 49, was sentenced to 10 years and 10 months in federal prison by a U.S. District Court judge in Denver, after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography earlier this year.

An investigation of Wietecha was launched in November 2017, when his daughter was using his cellphone and discovered the illicit images. She handed the device over to the authorities, who obtained a search warrant for the phone and several SD cards of Wietecha’s.

Detectives found thousands of images of child erotica and more than 1,000 images of child pornography electronically stored by Wietecha, and analysis of the phone also showed he had used the device to access child pornography websites and to take screenshots of child pornography from his computer screen.

In 2002, Wietecha pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of Sexual Exploitation of a Child due to possession of child porn, and was subsequently arrested three times in later years for failing to register as a sex offender.

Wietecha began serving his sentence immediately after his felony conviction last week, and will be required to serve an additional 15 years under supervision following his release.

According to a Justice Department news release on the conviction of Wietecha, U.S. Attorney Bob Troyer said, “Our prosecutors and the FBI leave no stone unturned when it comes to protecting children.

“The FBI remains committed to ensuring those responsible for sexually exploiting innocent children are aggressively investigated and brought to justice,” Troyer said. “This sentence demonstrates that those who possess child pornography will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

The age of Wietecha’s daughter was not disclosed in the release.

Last month, a New Mexico man, whose 4-year-old daughter stumbled across child pornography on his phone, was sentenced to just one year behind bars after deputies said he could have been facing up to 93 years in the slammer, according to the Miami Herald.

Andrew Long, the father of two, was busted after the Department of Homeland Security tipped off the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office that he was involved in the possession and distribution of child porn. During the investigation, Long’s wife confessed that she knew about the images and had confronted her husband after their little girl discovered the illicit material.

Long was arrested in 2016 and again in 2017 on multiple felony child porn charges. He pleaded guilty to one charge, the district attorney dropped the other charges and recommended a minimum sentence of 10 years behind bars.

The sheriff’s office told the Herald that the judge not only capped Long’s prison sentence at one year, he would be allowed to visit his children unsupervised and to go on work release. Having credit for time served, he will likely only spend eight more months in jail.

Juan County Sheriff Ken Christesen called the sentence for Long “absurd.”

Because the implications of this FISA release - particularly with respect to what Hillary Clinton, Brennan, Clapper, UK Intelligence, Australian Intelligence and Obama did - would end up stopping the Kavanaugh confirmation.

It would be giving the cabal a slam dunk where now they have to throw these sexual abuse allegations at Kavanaugh in the desperate attempt.

Kavanaugh is big because he will uphold Military Tribunals and will not allow for appeals to the Supreme Court for JUSTICE which we all want more than anything.

In the grand scheme of things, FISA is going to be a slow trickle and it will ALL come out. But if we weigh it against a conservative SCOTUS pick SWING VOTE MIGHT I ADD - its NOTHING.
