I can’t believe how lax the security was at the White House correspondents dinner tonight. Upon entering nobody asked to visibly INSPECT my ticket nor asked for my photo identification. All one had to do was flash what appeared to be a ticket and they were fine with that. When you consider you are entering a roomful of fake news media —90% of whom hate the President you would think they would have better security. This is what happened when what sounded like gunfire erupted.

Video footage circulating on social media shows law enforcement and Secret Service agents detaining a man on the ground in the Hilton lobby.
Allen appears to be a Caltech graduate who earned his master’s degree in computer science from California State University, Dominguez Hills last year.
Allen also worked as a teacher. He was named “Teacher of the Month” in December 2024 at C2 Education in Torrance, according to an Instagram post.

In 1939, Parsons converted to Thelema, a religious movement founded by English occultist Aleister Crowley. Parsons and his first wife, Helen Northrup, joined Crowley's Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.); he became the California O.T.O. branch leader in 1942. Historians of Western esotericism cite him as a prominent figure in propagating Thelema in North America. Parsons was dismissed from JPL and Aerojet in 1944, due to his involvement with O.T.O. and his hazardous laboratory practices. In 1945, he and Helen divorced. In 1946, he married Marjorie Cameron. Shortly afterward, L. Ron Hubbard defrauded Parsons of his life savings.
At the emergence of the Cold War, a Red Scare developed in the U.S. as the Congressional House Un-American Activities Committee began investigating and obstructing the careers of people with perceived communist sympathies. Many of Parsons' former colleagues lost their security clearances and jobs as a result, and eventually the FBI stripped Parsons of his clearance because of his "subversive" character, including his involvement in and advocacy of "sexual perversion" in O.T.O. When they interviewed Parsons, he denied communist sympathies but informed them of Sidney Weinbaum's "extreme communist views" and Frank Malina's involvement in Weinbaum's communist cell at Caltech, which resulted in Weinbaum's arrest for perjury since he had lied under oath by denying any involvement in communist groups. Malina's security clearance was withdrawn as well.[128] In reaction to this hostile treatment, Parsons sought work in the rocket industry abroad. He sought advice to do so in correspondence with von Kármán; whose advice he followed by enrolling in an evening course in advanced mathematics at USC to bolster his employability in the field—but again he neglected attendance and failed the course.[129] Parsons again resorted to bootlegging nitroglycerin for money, and managed to earn a wage as a car mechanic, a manual laborer at a gas station, and a hospital orderly; for two years he was also a faculty member at the USC Department of Pharmacology.[130] Relations between Parsons and Cameron became strained; they agreed to a temporary separation and she moved to Mexico to join an artists' commune in San Miguel de Allende.[131]

What we know about Cole Tomas Allen, Torrance teacher suspected in WHCD shooting
A man taken into custody after gunfire rang out at the White House Correspondents’ Assn. dinner on Saturday was identified by law enforcement sources as 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen, of Torrance.
Allen was first identified by the Associated Press, which cited unnamed law enforcement sources. Another official not authorized to speak publicly about the ongoing investigation told The Times that Allen was the suspect and that authorities were in the process of obtaining warrants to search addresses associated with him in Torrance.
The scene at the annual event in Washington turned chaotic when a man dashed toward the dining area and was met with gunfire. One hotel security guard said she observed the individual with a firearm. President Donald Trump was rushed offstage. One officer who was wearing a bulletproof vest was shot, but his condition is immediately clear.
U.S. Atty. for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro says the suspect is being charged with two counts of using a firearm and one count of assault on a federal officer using a dangerous weapon. Authorities said he had a shotgun, a handgun and multiple knives.
“This individual was intent on doing as much harm and as much damage as he could,” Pirro said.
Authorities have not disclosed a possible motive.
Allen, who is registered to vote with no party preference, graduated from CalTech in 2017 with a degree in mechanical engineering, according to the university. He was featured in a CalTech graduation announcement posted by the university in 2017 on Facebook, which included a picture of him as an adult wearing a cardigan and red tie and a photo of him as a beaming young child holding a stuffed bunny.
He was named teacher of the month in December 2024 at C2 Education, which specializes in college test preparation, tutoring and academic advising.
Allen also earned a master’s degree in computer science at Cal State Dominguez Hills in 2025, according to a commencement program.
In October 2024, Allen donated $25 to ActBlue, a political action committee that raises funds for Democrats, according to the Federal Election Commission. The money was earmarked for Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign.
It was drizzling Saturday evening in Torrance outside the multi-gabled house with tall hedges house where Allen is believed to have lived. Torrance police arrived, clearing the road and putting up police tape along part of the street. FBI officials also appeared on the scene.
A man who responded to a knock on the front door said, “Not right now,” and declined to comment further.
A gaggle of reporters and neighbors loitered around the property filming as a helicopter hovered overhead.
Colin, a 39-year-old neighbor who declined to give his last name citing privacy concerns, said the current residents of the home had just moved in six months ago.
“It’s tragic,” he said. “There’s no need for violence in this day and age.”
Another man, 50, who lives across the street and declined to provide his name to a reporter, said the family was friendly.
“We see them every day and we just say hi and they’re very nice,” he said. “They’re peaceful people, they don’t make any noise and when they see you they say hi.”

On March 30, 1981, Ronald Reagan, the president of the United States, was shot and wounded by John Hinckley Jr. in Washington, D.C., as Reagan was returning to his limousine after a speaking engagement at the Washington Hilton hotel. Hinckley believed the attack would impress the actress Jodie Foster, with whom he had developed an erotomanic obsession after viewing her in the 1976 film Taxi Driver.
Reagan was seriously wounded by a revolver bullet that ricocheted off the side of the presidential limousine and hit him in the left underarm, breaking a rib, puncturing a lung, and causing serious internal bleeding. He underwent emergency exploratory surgery at George Washington University Hospital, and was released on April 11. No formal invocation of sections 3 or 4 of the U.S. Constitution's Twenty-fifth Amendment (concerning the vice president assuming the president's powers and duties) took place, though Secretary of State Alexander Haig stated that he was "in control here" at the White House until Vice President George H. W. Bush returned to Washington from Fort Worth, Texas. Haig was fourth in the line of succession after Bush, Speaker of the House Tip O'Neill, and President pro tempore of the Senate Strom Thurmond.
White House press secretary James Brady, Secret Service agent Tim McCarthy, and D.C. police officer Thomas Delahanty were also wounded. All three survived, but Brady suffered brain damage and was permanently disabled; he died in 2014 as a result of his injury.[2][5]
On June 21, 1982, Hinckley was found not guilty by reason of insanity on charges of attempting to assassinate the president. He remained confined to St. Elizabeths Hospital, a psychiatric facility in Washington, D.C. In 2015, federal prosecutors announced that they would not charge Hinckley with Brady's death, despite the medical examiner's classification of his death as a homicide.[6] Hinckley was discharged from his institutional psychiatric care in 2016.

The Southern Poverty Law Center now holds a massive endowment of roughly $732–738 million (as of late 2024), with total net assets exceeding $780 million. A large portion of this money is invested in high-risk hedge funds, private equity, and other alternative assets. Much of it flows through offshore tax havens like the Cayman Islands, Bermuda, and the British Virgin Islands.
In 2014 alone, the SPLC sent over $5.62 million to Cayman Islands offshore entities.
That same year, its reported direct “case cost” legal expenses were only $1.86 million — just a tiny fraction of its total contributions and grants.
For a nonprofit that raises hundreds of millions from donors by sounding alarms about “hate” and extremism, why is so much money being sent to offshore tax havens instead of going directly to programs?

The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is advertising a president and CEO job opening one day after the left-wing nonprofit was indicted by a Montgomery grand jury.
The SPLC began advertising the president and CEO position on Wednesday with a “salary range of $450,000 to $525,000 with a comprehensive benefits package.”
“This leader will embody SPLC’s unwavering commitment to racial and social justice, guiding the organization with clarity, integrity, and depth of experience. In doing so, the CEO will cultivate the conditions that allow SPLC’s programs, partnerships, and people to thrive—positioning the organization for sustained impact in the years ahead,” the job description states.
Margaret Huang resigned in July 2025 as president and CEO of the SPLC to “prioritize family life.” Former SPLC Board chair Bryan Fair is currently serving as interim president and CEO. The SPLC’s staff union called on Huang to resign in 2024 after the SPLC laid off 60 employees.
A Montgomery grand jury returned an indictment charging the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) with 11 counts of wire fraud, false statements to a federally insured bank, and money laundering on Tuesday.
The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Alabama Northern Division filed two forfeiture actions to recover alleged proceeds of the organization’s fraud scheme.
According to the indictment, starting in the 1980s, the SPLC began operating a covert network of individuals who were either associated with violent and extremist groups, such as the Ku Klux Klan, or who had infiltrated violent extremist groups at the SPLC’s direction. Unbeknownst to donors, some of their donated money was being used to fund the leaders and organizers of racist groups at the same time that the SPLC was denouncing the same groups on its website, according to the DOJ.
