Here's everything known as of ~4:10 PM UTC today on the Austin incident:
Around 1:59 AM CST, a male suspect in a large SUV opened fire outside Buford's Backyard Beer Garden on West 6th St downtown. He shot from the vehicle, parked, then continued on foot with a pistol and rifle.
2 victims killed, 14 injured (3 critical). 3 APD officers returned fire, killing the suspect on scene. Total: 3 dead.
FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force assisting after evidence on the shooter & in his vehicle showed "potential nexus to terrorism." Motive & ID still unknown—too early, per FBI agent. Investigation ongoing.
Scene video shows chaos with officers aiding victims amid blood & debris. Updates expected soon.
