The Atlantic Busted Fabricating Dead Kid Measles Story

Last Thursday, The Atlantic published a heart-wrenching story about an 11-month-old child who died of measles. Written in the second person from the perspective of a mother whose two unvaccinated children fell ill with the disease, the story is rich with personal detail;

"You plant her on the couch with a blanket and put Bluey on the TV while she drifts in and out of sleep…"

"While the kids are napping, you tap a list of your daughter’s symptoms into Google and find a slew of diseases that more or less match up…"

"Her cough wracks her whole body, rounding her delicate bird shoulders. She does not sleep well. And as you lift up her pajama top to check her rash one morning, you see that her breathing is labored, shadows pooling between her ribs when she sucks in air."

Turns out, NONE OF THAT HAPPENED. The Atlantic's Elizabeth Bruenig simply made it up, leading to mass confusion.

US Coast Guard Seizes $133.5 Million In Illicit Drugs

“80 percent of interdictions of U.S.-bound drugs occur at sea. This underscores the importance of maritime interdiction in combatting the flow of illegal narcotics and protecting American communities from this deadly threat,” USCG said.

In total, 17,700 pounds of cocaine were seized through the interdiction of four drug-transporting vessels in international waters of the Eastern Pacific Ocean.

One of the drug vessels was boarded by Seneca’s crew on Jan. 25, seizing 4,410 pounds of cocaine. On Jan. 31, crew members boarded three vessels, taking custody of 13,340 pounds of cocaine, the statement said.

The detection and monitoring of illegal drug transit by air and sea are conducted by the U.S. Southern Command’s Joint Interagency Task Force-South, based in Key West. Once it is determined that the vessel must be interdicted, the USCG takes control of the operation, boards the vessel, and apprehends it.

“I am extremely proud of the crew’s incredible performance and adaptability during this deployment,” said Capt. Lee Jones, commanding officer of Coast Guard Cutter Seneca.

“This deployment demonstrates our enhanced posture and continued success in the fight against narco-terrorism and transnational criminal organizations.

Members of the United Nations Security Council called Wednesday for the Gaza ceasefire deal to become permanent and blasted Israeli efforts to expand control in the West Bank as a threat to prospects of a two-state solution, coming on the eve of President Donald Trump’s first Board of Peace gathering to discuss the future of the Palestinian territories.

While more than 20 countries have so far accepted an invitation to join the board, close U.S.partners, including France, Germany and others, have opted not to join yetand renewed support for the U.N.

The high-level U.N. session in New York was originally scheduled for Thursday but was moved up after Trump announced the board's meeting forthe same day and it became clear that it would complicate travel plans for diplomats planning to attend both. It is a sign of the potential for overlapping and conflicting agendas between the United Nations’ most powerful body and Trump’s new initiative, whose broader ambitions to broker global conflicts have raised concerns in some countries thatit may attempt to rival the U.N. Security Council.

Pakistan, the only country on the 15-member council that also accepted an invitation to join the Board of Peace, denounced Israel’s contentious West Bank settlement project during the meeting as “null and void” and said it constitutes a “clear violation of international law.”

“Israel’s recent illegal decisions to expand its control over the West Bank are gravely disturbing,” Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said.

The foreign ministers of the United Kingdom, Israel, Jordan, Egypt and Indonesia also attended the Security Council's monthly Mideast meeting after many Arab and Islamic countries requested last week that it discuss Gaza and the West Bank before some of them head to Washington.

“Annexation is a breach of the U.N. Charter and of the most fundamental rules of international law,” Palestinian U.N. Ambassador Riyad Mansour said. “It is a breach of President Trump’s plan, and constitutes an existential threat to ongoing peace efforts.”

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said that attention was not on the U.N. session and that the focus of the international world would be on the Board of Peace meeting.

Saar also accused the council of being “infected with an anti-Israeli obsession” and insisted that no nation has a stronger right than its “historical and documented right to the land of the Bible.”…

Tucker Carlson ‘a phony’ – ex-Israeli PM

Naftali Bennett has accused the US media figure of talking about, but not knowing, the country

Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett denounced US talk show host Tucker Carlson for his brief visit to Israel, calling him “a chickens**t” and “a phony.”

Carlson, a conservative commentator who questions Israel’s influence on US foreign policy, traveled to the country to interview Mike Huckabee, the current US ambassador there. Before the interview, he posted a photo on X showing himself and business partner Neil Patel in front of Ben Gurion Airport with the caption “Greetings from Israel.”

Bennett, a right-wing politician who led Israel’s government from 2021 to 2022, reacted negatively, taunting Carlson for reportedly not leaving the airport and criticizing Israel without having experienced life there.

“Tucker Carlson is a chickenshit,” he said. “Next time he talks about Israel as if he’s some expert, just remember this guy is a phony!”

Carlson told The Daily Mail that he faced hostility in Israel and that local authorities had “detained” his executive producer, demanding to know the content of his interview with Huckabee. The ambassador said Carlson and his team went through the same security procedures he undergoes upon arrival.

Huckabee and Carlson recently clashed online over what Carlson calls Israel’s mistreatment of local Christians – an issue he claimed the envoy has failed to address. The ambassador suggested that Carlson speak to him directly. Airport officials confirmed that the conversation took place in the VIP lounge.

The Tucker Carlson Network later released an interview with Palestinian-American Christian leader Farres Abraham, who said his West Bank hometown of Beit Sahour risks losing its Christian majority due to pressure from Jewish settlers backed by Israel.

Carlson said he met with Huckabee – whom he described as a Christian Zionist and neocon, and therefore someone he vehemently disagrees with – because he expected the discussion to remain civil.

“There is no reason for any conversation about American foreign policy to devolve into ‘Jews versus everyone else’ or ‘everyone versus Jews’ or any of this stuff. It’s all awful,” Carson said. “There are some people in this conversation, maybe on both sides, who want to inspire hate, and that’s not a good idea for anyone.”
