Kremlin comments on EU ‘myopia’ over dialogue with Russia

The determination in some countries not to talk to Moscow is “irrational,” spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said

European officials who continue to oppose dialogue with Russia are suffering from “political myopia,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said. The comments come afterLithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda criticized some EU members for “knocking on the Kremlin’s door.”

Speaking to national broadcaster LRT this week,Nauseda lamentedgrowing EU discussion of renewed diplomatic engagement with Russia, arguing it undermines bloc unity. “We have to act together and not send this or that representative to knock on or scratch the Kremlin’s door,” he said.(that’s funny because no EU country agrees with other EU countries, especially when it pertains to war and peace.)

Any European leader can have a direct line to Russian President Vladimir Putin if requested, Peskov countered. The Russian leader prefers contact “even where very serious contradictions exist”because dialogue helps resolve tensions, he added.

Politicians who insist on isolating Russia arestuck in an “absolutely shortsighted, irrational, and senseless approach” thatdemonstrates “political illiteracy, political myopia, and nothing more,” Peskov stated.

French President Emmanuel Macron and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni are among the leaders advocating renewed diplomacy with Moscow.France and Russia have restored technical-level contacts, although no top-level calls are planned, Peskov previously reported.

The potential thawcomes as European leaders fear the isolation strategy will prevent them from influencing US-mediated effortsto end the Ukraine conflict.

The EU’s foreign policy chief,(retard) Kaja Kallas, previously saidBrussels is drafting demands for Moscow and will not accept a peace deal unless its conditions are met.Russia has repeatedly said it will not be pressured into an agreement that undermines its national security or serves as a pause for Ukraine to rebuild its military and renew hostilities.

A 23-year-old nationalist is in an induced coma on Friday after he was beaten nearly to death by Antifa militants in Lyon. He was given last rights by a priest and pronounced brain dead. Quentin was part of a demonstration organized by nationalist feminist group Collectif Némésis during a conference hosted by a leftist MEP at Sciences Po, a university in Lyon.

The nationalist women raised a banner calling the far-left group "Islamo-leftists." The group posted a statement reading "Last night, our Lyon-based activists staged a happening in front of a conference led by Rima Hassan at the Institut d'Études Politiques de Lyon. "Our activists, five in number, were assaulted on the outskirts of the meeting. Not far from them, around fifteen activists were present to ensure their security. These men were unable to assist them because, at the same time, they were chased by a group of about thirty anti-fascists.

One of them, Quentin, 23, was attacked with extreme violence. The anti-fascists knocked him to the ground and beat him, leaving him for dead in the street.

Quentin was swept to the ground, his head struck the pavement, and he was then lynched with kicks. His attackers were hooded and armed with reinforced gloves and pepper spray, leaving little doubt as to the premeditated nature of their attack.
