Fraud, lies and a Hollywood Blockbuster: Scientology’s link to the British Crown Jewels

The United Kingdom’s Crown Jeweller Mark Appleby, who is responsible for the maintenance of the famous Crown Jewels, can be linked to convicted fraudster and current Scientologist in good standing John Mappin.

The custodian of the Crown Jewels, Appleby is responsible for preparing items, including the Imperial State Crown for occasions such as the recent coronation of King Charles III. Appointed by Queen Elizabeth II in 2017, his page on the Royal Family’s website also makes reference to his position as head craftsman at the jewellery firm Mappin & Webb – a workshop founded 248 years ago and said to be worth millions.

Although the company now forms part of retail group Watches of Switzerland, it was reported by The Guardian in 2002 that British Scientologist John Mappin was an heir to the jewellery empire which still bears his name.

Mappin hit the headlines in 2017 after he won £100,000 on a bet that Donald Trump would win the US Presidential election, and has been listed by Scientology magazine Source as having completed OT VI as well as a number of other major services such as Super Power, Cause Resurgence and the expensive L10, L11 and L12 rundowns.

Fraud, Lies and a Hollywood Blockbuster

Despite his shiny Scientology completions record, John Mappin was found guilty of fraud in 2002 after he conned Benjamin Pell into spending £77,500 on a bogus claim to make a Hollywood blockbuster about his life. Told by Mappin he had a “unique opportunity to work with one of the biggest names in Hollywood”, Pell was convinced a team of Hollywood writers and film-makers were interested in creating a documentary about his life that would feature “big name actors”. It turned out the filmmaker was in fact a hairdresser friend of Mappin’s.

In a High Court ruling, Mr. Justice Gray said “for whatever reason, Mr Mappin was a party to a scam designed to extract money from a person who, as he must have appreciated, was highly vulnerable.”

Following the judgement, Mappin was subject to an Ethics program, evidenced by his completion of the ‘Ethics Specialist’ and ‘PTS/SP’ courses as well as the PTS Rundown at Scientology’s UK Headquarters Saint Hill in October of the following year. In 2004, he was subject to a Joburg Confessional – a detailed interrogation in which parishioners are asked a series if questions such as “Have you ever ill-treated children?” and “Have you ever used blackmail to procure sex?”

More recently, Mappin has received publicity for flying a Q-Anon flag above his Camelot Castle Hotel in Cornwall and criticising the government for offering £1 million to convert the building into temporary accommodation for asylum seekers. He continues to actively promote the Church, claiming “telepathic ability” was “perfected” by L. Ron Hubbard in a Tweet dated July 19th, 2023.

Although there is no evidence Crown Jeweller Mark Appleby has engaged in any Scientology services, it raises the question of how involved Mappin was in the recent coronation despite his fraud conviction, and just how close is Scientology to the Royal Family?

Ukrainian special forces hit Russian fuel train, oil depot and drone base in occupied Crimea

Units of Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces (SOF) carried out strikes on a number of Russian military targets in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk region and in Crimea, according to the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the statement, FP-2 strike drones were used to hit the targets.

In particular, in occupied Crimea near the settlement of Yantarne, Ukrainian drones struck a train carrying fuel and lubricants for the Russian army while it was in motion.

A fuel depot in the area of the settlement of Batumyne was also hit.

In addition, in the Donetsk region, SOF units struck a Volna-2 electronic warfare station in Marianivka, as well as an FPV drone operator training center near Dokuchaievsk.

"The Special Operations Forces continue to carry out asymmetric actions to undermine the offensive capabilities of the Russian army," the video caption reads.

Earlier, it was reported that strike drones operated by Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate in temporarily occupied Crimea destroyed several Russian radar systems and a ship-based helicopter.

In particular, on the night of November 1–2, the HUR attacked a command post of an S-400 Triumf surface-to-air missile battalion that was on combat duty, as well as a Russian 92N6E multifunctional radar system in Crimea.

That same night, on November 1, powerful explosions were reported in Russia’s Moscow region. The HUR successfully destroyed three lines of the strategic Koltsevoy petroleum products pipeline.

IDF Confirms Drone Strikes Kill Two Hezbollah Operatives in Southern Lebanon; Third Under Review

In the morning, the IDF said it struck and eliminated a Hezbollah member in the village of Yater who was involved in efforts to restore the Iranian-backed terror group’s infrastructure.

US military and civilian personnel have been ambushed by a “lone ISIS gunman” in Syria, with three killed and three others injured in the attack, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Saturday.

The gunman was “engaged and killed” during the attack, according to the US military. CENTCOM did not elaborate on where exactly the incident occurred and did not reveal the identities of the victims in accordance with the Pentagon’s policies.

US President Donald Trump has vowed a “very serious retaliation” for the attack and pinned the blame on the terrorist group Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS).

“This was an ISIS attack against the US, and Syria, in a very dangerous part of Syria that is not fully controlled by them.

The Trump administration has seized the Nigerian-linked supertanker Skipper as part of a global crackdown on terror-financing tied to Islamist networks tormenting Africa’s largest population.

The 20-year-old vessel, managed by Nigeria’s Thomarose Global Ventures Ltd., was intercepted in the Caribbean after being linked to stolen crude operations, drug trafficking, terror financing and offshore money-laundering.

News sources say that though the tanker was registered in the Marshall Islands, it flew a fake Guyanese flag — a tactic common in covert shipping.

U.S. officials say profits from such illicit oil deals often fund extremist groups, like Boko Haram, Islamic State in West Africa and other Islamic terrorist groups operating in Africa’s Sahel. Trump warned that more Nigeria-focused actions will follow.

Speaking to TruthNigeria from Minna, Niger State—another region ravaged by terrorists—Professor Emmanuel Musa, Head of Sociology and Criminology at Niger State University, said American involvement was inevitable.

“I can bet you that whether Nigeria is willing or unwilling, the U.S. must find its way into the Nigeria security matrix and even try to take control,” Musa said.

He argued that former President Trump sees intervention as both a moral duty and political imperative, given reports of atrocities against Nigerian Christians.

“Nigeria should humble itself and take advantage of any U.S. assistance. It will form the most extensive and qualitative aerial and ground operations against terrorist groups across the Sahel, the Lake Chad Basin, and the forested, hilly savannahs of the Middle Belt,” he added.

Sovereignty Questions

While the possibility of U.S. UAV strike permissions and now the interception of Nigerian ships may strengthen Nigeria’s fight against insurgency, it also raises sensitive issues:

· Has the National Assembly been briefed?

· Who authorizes strike missions?

· Will there be transparency on collateral damage?

· Will American strikes respect Nigeria’s sovereignty?

For now, both Abuja and Washington remain silent.

But the evidence in the sky—the persistent ISR flights, the confirmed intelligence trails, the expanding aviation footprint—suggests that a historic shift in Nigeria’s security architecture is already unfolding.

And the center of it appears to be Nigeria’s quiet approval for American UAV strike operations on its soil.

US Air Force Completes Recovery Of Crashed MQ-9 Reaper Drone Off South Korea Coast

Updated: Sunday, December 14, 2025, 10:15 AM IST

A US Air Force unit based in South Korea said it has completed the recovery operations of a MQ-9 drone that crashed off the country's west coast last month.

The drone, also known as the Reaper, crashed near Maldo-ri Island off the western city of Gunsan, about 180 kilometers south of Seoul, on Nov. 24, with no injuries reported.

An investigation into the cause of the incident is under way, Yonhap news agency reported.

"Following a thorough and collaborative effort, the recovery operation has now been successfully completed," the 8th Fighter Wing told Yonhap News Agency, in response to a query on follow-up measures.

The US Air Force had conducted the operation in cooperation with the South Korean Navy, the Coast Guard and the Army.

"The combined expertise and resources of our two militaries were essential to the success of this operation," it said, thanking the South Korean military for the "strong partnership."

The US Air Force unit did not elaborate on whether it plans to deploy another MQ-9 to fill a potential reconnaissance gap caused by the crash, but said it remains committed to ensuring mission requirements.

"Our priority remains the safety and effectiveness of our operations. We are continuously evaluating our operational posture and resource allocation to ensure mission requirements are met," it said.

The crashed drone was among the fleet of MQ-9 drones that had been assigned to the 431st Expeditionary Reconnaissance Squadron at the US air base in Gunsan, launched in late September.

It marked the first time such a squadron was activated on the Korean Peninsula following previous rotational deployments.

The MQ-9 is designed for both surveillance and attack missions and is capable of long-distance flight.

Once deployed, it is believed to be capable of conducting surveillance on North Korea and monitoring China's activities in the Yellow Sea.

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has said he will block any European Union solution that finances Ukraine’s military expenditures, accusing Western Europe of treating Russian and Ukrainian lives as being “worth shit” and of prolonging what he described as senseless bloodshed.

In a post on X, Fico said he had held an almost hour-long phone conversation with European Council President António Costa focused on EU funding for Ukraine.

“While he spoke about money for the war in Ukraine, I kept repeating the senseless daily killing of hundreds to thousands of Russians and Ukrainians,” Fico wrote.

“If for Western Europe the life of a Russian or a Ukrainian is worth shit, I do not want to be part of such a Western Europe.”

Fico said he told Costa that Slovakia would not support any measure leading to EU financing of Ukraine’s military costs, regardless of how long negotiations might last. “I told A. Costa that I will not support anything, even if we have to sit in Brussels until the New Year, which would lead to support for Ukraine’s military expenditures,” he wrote.

The post accompanied the publication of a formal letter sent by Fico to Costa and to all EU prime ministers ahead of the next European Council meeting, where the European Commission’s proposals to secure Ukraine’s financial needs for 2026 and 2027, including the possible use of frozen Russian assets, are expected to be discussed.

In the letter, Fico stated that Slovakia would not back any solution that includes funding Ukraine’s military expenses.

“At the upcoming European Council, I am not in the position to support any solution to Ukraine’s financial needs that would include covering Ukraine’s military expenses for the coming years,” he wrote.

Fico argued that there was no military solution to the conflict and that continued arms financing was extending the war.

“The policy of peace that I consistently advocate prevents me from voting in favor of prolonging military conflict, because providing tens of billions of euros for military spending is prolonging the war,” he said.

UFO Transparency Stalls Again as Congressional Leaders Fail to Act Despite Growing Attention

Congressional leadership has abandoned full enactment of the proposed Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena Disclosure Act (UAPDA) after it was not included in the final National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for fiscal year 2026, due to be signed by President Trump.

Liberation Times understands that the proposed legislation—first introduced in 2023 by then-Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (Democrat) and Senator Mike Rounds (Republican), a member of the Senate Intelligence and Armed Services Committees—now faces an uncertain future.

After initial resistance in 2023—reportedly from some in House and Senate leadership—a mostly gutted version of the UAPDA was ultimately enacted via the 2024 NDAA.

In response, Senators Schumer and Rounds entered into a colloquy on the Senate floor expressing their disappointment with House Republicans and pledged to continue pursuing the full legislation, including the creation of an independent Review Board:

a nine-member panel of U.S. citizens appointed by the President, and confirmed by the Senate.

Under the proposal, the Board would have authority to assess and advise on the public release of UAP-related information and records, alongside provisions requiring the government to secure possession of any recovered UAP material and related biological evidence that may have been transferred to private entities—potentially placing it beyond the reach of Congress and the American public.

During the Schumer-Rounds colloquy, which took place in December 2023, Schumer stated:

“I want to assure the American people [that] Senator Rounds and I will keep working to change the status quo.”

Schumer added:

“I would like to just acknowledge my dear friend, the late Harry Reid, a mentor who cared about this [UAP transparency] issue a great deal - so he is looking down and smiling on us, but he is also importuning us to get the rest of this done, which we will do everything we can to make happen.”

However, despite being reintroduced in 2024 and again this year, the UAPDA has not been included in the final NDAA and has not been passed into law.

For example, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI)—now under Republican control—held the first UAP public hearing for over 50 years in May 2022, when under Democrat control.

Since then, its posture on transparency appears to have shifted, with reports that then-HPSCI Chair Mike Turner (Republican) opposed key elements of the UAP Disclosure Act during the 2023 NDAA Conference Committee negotiations.

By contrast, the Republican-led House Oversight Committee has continued to stage UAP-themed hearings, including through its Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets.

However, Oversight has limited influence over whether UAP provisions ultimately make it into statute, because the two vehicles that matter most are controlled elsewhere: the NDAA is produced by the House and Senate Armed Services Committees, while the Intelligence Authorization Act (IAA) is handled through the intelligence committees and is often folded into the final NDAA package.

Representative Eric Burlison (Republican) has signalled just how little appetite there is within congressional leadership to advance the UAPDA absent broad, senior-level buy-in.

Speaking to journalist Matt Laslo, Burlison said he had been told by House Armed Services Chair Mike Rogers (Republican) that the provision could be included in the NDAA only if Burlison could secure agreement from the “Four Corners” — the Chair and Ranking Members of the House and Senate Armed Services and Intelligence Committees.

This was a herculean task set by Representative Rogers, which was destined to fail.

So, where does that leave us?

Sources have also told Liberation Times that enthusiasm among some key Senate advocates may have waned, in part due to alleged threats directed at senators’ staff—raising concerns about personal safety and potential political repercussions.

However, other sources also point to the politics behind the UAPDA. Using Senator Schumer as an example, one source commented:

“What people do not seem to realize here is that Schumer spent real political capital to get the UAPDA into the NDAA.

He succeeded in part because he caught most of the rest of the Senate by surprise and used his power as Majority Leader and knowledge of parliamentary tactics to do so. When 2024 rolled around, there was no longer any element of surprise.

“Still, could Schumer have used similar tactics in 2024? Sure. Why didn’t he? Unknown, but the 2024 elections could have played a role.

“2025 has been a different year for Schumer. He’s now Minority Leader, with much less agenda-setting power. He’s also dealing with real political problems from his left flank he didn’t have in 2023 or even 2024.”

Commenting on Senator Rounds’ recent efforts, the source commented:

“There’s a disconnect there somewhere. He was forceful in his colloquy with Schumer in December 2023. He was assertive in The Age of Disclosure. He was less so when he was interviewed by Ross Coulthart.

Sources told Liberation Times that claims attributed to former Green Beret Matthew Livelsberger—who died after detonating a vehicle outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas—are credible and warrant urgent scrutiny.

Those sources allege that the ‘drones’ reported over the eastern United States in late 2024 and early 2025 were Chinese in origin, and that they employed anti-gravitic propulsion technology—capabilities the sources claim are already in operational use by both China and the United States.

An Estonian court has handed lengthy prison sentences to the leaders of an anti-NATO party convicted of working on behalf of Russia to undermine national security.

On Thursday, the Harju District Court sentenced Aivo Peterson, co-founder of the small conservative Koos party, to 14 years in prison for treason. His associates, Dmitri Rootsi and Andrei Andronov, received sentences of 11 years and 11 years and six months, respectively. All three denied any wrongdoing and said they would appeal the verdict.

Prosecutors alleged that the defendants spread “narratives supporting Russia’s foreign and security policy” intended to undermine public trust in NATO and Estonia’s military aid to Ukraine.

“The defendants deliberately assisted Russia in activities directed against the Estonian state and society,” State Prosecutor Triinu Olev-Aas said.

Founded in 2022, Koos calls for Estonia to leave NATO, become a neutral state, remove foreign troops from its territory, and “refrain from participating directly or indirectly in military conflicts between other countries.”

In 2023, Peterson traveled to Russia’s Donetsk People’s Republic, which Estonia considers occupied Ukrainian territory. He said at the time he was gathering information about the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

“There are two sides to every conflict, but the information we receive from Estonian media is one-sided. All of our journalists support Kiev, which often comes across as propaganda,” Peterson said.

The Koos party rejected the allegations against its members, arguing that the prosecutors failed to present “concrete proof that their actions had caused real damage to Estonia’s constitutional order or security.”

Estonia is one of Ukraine’s top supporters and has been pushing for further militarization of Europe. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called Estonia “one of the most hostile countries” in June and accused Tallinn of “spreading myths and falsehoods about the supposed threat from the East.”

Top Israeli officials accused the leftist government in Australia of failing to meaningfully confront antisemitism before the deadly terror attack against the Sydney Jewish community in Bondi on Sunday.

Multiple gunmen opened fire at a Hanukkah event at Sydney’s Bondi Beach on Sunday, killing at least 11 and injuring 29, including a Rabbi, a police officer, and an Israeli citizen, in what is being described as a terrorist attack. One of the suspected attackers was reportedly killed during the incident, while the other is said to remain in custody.

One of the shooters has been identified by ABC News as Naveed Akram. Only described as having lived in the multicultural Bonnyrigg suburb of Sydney, police have yet to confirm his nationality, ethnicity, or motive. Police have also not revealed at the time of this reporting whether Akram was the shooter who was killed or if he was taken into custody.

New South Wales Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon implied that one of the gunmen was known to police before the attack, but said that “the person that we know has very, very little knowledge to the police… So he’s not someone that we would have automatically been looking at, at this time.”

Following the attack, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said per the Times of Israel, that he had sent a letter to Australian PM Anthony Albanese in August, accusing the leftist leader of pouring fuel “on this antisemitic fire” by recognising Palestine as a state.

“It encourages the Jew hatred now stalking your streets. Antisemitism is a cancer. It spreads when leaders stay silent; it retreats when leaders act. I call upon you to replace weakness with action, appeasement with resolve,” Netanyahu said that he wrote.

Former Israeli prime minister Naftali Bennett also took aim at the government in Canberra, saying that while the events were tragic, he was “not surprised”.

“The writing was on the wall and we’ve seen a wave of antisemitism in Australia, and we’ve also seen a very feeble response from the Australian leadership,” he said. “We time and again said that this would happen and not much was done. We have to fight antisemitism so this can never happen again.”

Albanese also faced criticism from Bennet for not mentioning Islamism as a motive for the attack on Sunday, saying, “We all know what it is. We all know the Jewish community is under attack.”

Hundreds of Arab residents of Jaffa marched in protest Saturday after a pregnant woman from the community was allegedly pepper-sprayed by Jews while she was driving her car in the city’s Ajami neighborhood.

The Israel Police said in a statement that an altercation developed between the woman and several others, who apparently sprayed her and then fled the area in southern Tel Aviv-Jaffa.

Footage published by the Arab48 news site showed protesters marching to the site of the attack while chanting: “Tell the Shin Bet dogs we’re not afraid of conflict,” referring to Israel’s internal security agency.

Speaking to the protesters, former Knesset member and former Tel Aviv-Jaffa council member Sami Abu Shehadeh accused the government of complicity in the attack, which he said included verbal abuse and spitting on the woman, according to Arab48.

“This assault is not an individual incident, but rather a new episode in a systematic policy targeting the people of Jaffa and our Palestinian nation at large,” said Abu Shehadeh, head of the Palestinian nationalist Balad party.

It’s Antisemitic to Call Out Israel’s Genocide, Says the Guardian

The band Primal Scream had the audacity to tell its audience that the British government is complicit in genocide. They have been reported to the police for doing so

On the matter of “antisemitism”, we are now so far down the rabbit hole that the word no longer need have any reference to “hating Jews”.

Even the supposedly liberal Guardian uses the term unquestioningly to mean “being nasty about Israel” – a state whose genocidal behaviour towards the Palestinian people over the past two years should mean it is almost impossible to say anything too nasty about it.

Take the following absurd headline from the paper: “London venue ‘appalled’ after antisemitic imagery allegedly screened at Primal Scream gig.”

Let’s deconstruct this headline. Notice there are no quote marks around “antisemitic”, meaning the paper takes it as read that the imagery is indeed antisemitic.

There are quote marks around “appalled”, indicating that the London venue, the Roundhouse, is being directly quoted rather than paraphrased. And the word “allegedly” is included throughout the article for legal reasons, and relates to the matter of the screening not the imagery, presumably in case the Roundhouse’s claim that the band Primal Scream displayed the image turns out to be factually incorrect.

So what was this unquestionably “antisemitic” imagery?

The story explains that Primal Scream projected a video on to a screen behind the band during their concert earlier this month in which a swastika merged with a Star of David, the symbol on the Israeli flags flying from tanks in Gaza.

The Guardian uncritically reports: “A spokesperson for the Roundhouse said they were ‘appalled that antisemitic imagery was displayed’ at the venue’,” and that it had apologised to “the wider Jewish community”.

The paper does nothing to distance itself, as it should have done, from this accusation. For example, it could have reported the incident as follows: “A spokesperson for the Roundhouse said it was ‘appalled’ at what it claimed was a display of ‘antisemitic imagery’.”

One can debate whether entwining the swastika with the Star of David is in bad taste, given that Israel chose to turn a Jewish symbol, the Star of David, into its national emblem, on its flag and on its warplanes. Remember, though, that it was Israel that intentionally created this confusion – not Primal Scream, not Israel’s critics.

Rabbi Yehuda Kaploun, Trump's Israeli-born Chabadnik nominee for US Anti-Semitism Czar, told Jewish Insider this week that he plans to work with social media platforms on their algorithms to suppress "hatred," and have them label "misinformation" using so-called "AI."

Rabbi Yehuda Kaploun, President Donald Trump’s nominee to serve as U.S. antisemitism special envoy, warned in an interview with Jewish Insider that inaccurate, inflammatory content is being allowed to spread on social media, and pledged to work with social networks to curb the spread of antisemitic falsehoods online.

“The ideal outcome is, I want to continue America’s tradition of free speech and allowing free speech anywhere and everywhere, freedom of expression,” Kaploun said. “But I would like the platforms — because of the advent of AI and those technologies, you have the ability to recognize when something is not factually correct and it should be labeled as such. I think that’s something that we’d like to target.”

Kaploun spoke to JI on Wednesday, with his Senate confirmation vote for the State Department role expected this month before the holiday recess. His comments about working with social media platforms to label misinformation contradict the approach of the Trump administration, which has urged the major platforms not to “censor” information. Earlier this year, after Trump took office, Meta announced the end of its fact-checking program, and YouTube eased many of its content moderation policies.

“There’s many other areas of working with the companies — the algorithms and things that have been now proven, that bots are busy promoting antisemitic rhetoric on the internet, how we get to some of that and preventing some of that. These are very tall tasks. These are not things that occur overnight,” said Kaploun, a Chabad-trained rabbi and businessman from Miami. “But I truly believe there is a true willingness of many people within the administration to tackle these problems and confront them head on, globally.”

That sounds like a global censorship regime to prevent "anti-Semitic rhetoric."

As an example of the kind of content he would seek to flag as false, Kaploun referred to a July New York Times article about the hunger that many civilians in Gaza were experiencing during Israel’s war against Hamas. The Times published a correction regarding the article several days after it was published, once it was revealed that a child who was featured prominently in the article as an example of malnutrition had preexisting health conditions.

The misrepresentation in the photo could contribute to antisemitism, according to Kaploun, who suggested that the article had been viewed hundreds of times more than the correction.

The IDF has conducted strikes that have killed at least 40 Hezbollah terrorists in southern Lebanon since the beginning of October, the military confirmed on Sunday evening.

This results in at least 380 terrorists being killed in IDF strikes since the ceasefire with Hezbollah began on November 27, 2024.

The IDF's strikes since the ceasefire took effect were carried out amid 1,900 ceasefire infractions by the terror group, the military noted.
