Russian “Invisible” Satellite and Chinese Stealth Tests Alarm US Space Force

China and Russia are actively testing stealth-related technologies designed to make their satellites harder to detect with radar and optical sensors, a senior US Space Force official said, warning that space surveillance is increasingly turning into a game of concealment rather than confrontation, according to Breaking Defense on December 11.

Speaking at the Space Force Association’s Spacepower 2025 conference, Chief Master Sergeant Ron Lerch, the senior enlisted advisor to the deputy chief of space operations for intelligence, said recent activity suggests both countries are investing in ways to reduce the radar and visual signatures of spacecraft, particularly in low Earth orbit.

“In years past, we’ve talked about this cat and mouse game that was happening at GEO [geosynchronous Earth orbit]—Chinese, Russian, US satellite, sort of stalking each other,” Lerch said.

“This past year has really been more of a hide-and-seek game that we’ve seen at LEO [low Earth orbit].”

China testing stealthy satellite shapes

According to Breaking Defense, Lerch pointed to China’s Shiyan-24 satellite trio—Shiyan A, B, and C—which conducted synchronized maneuvers in low Earth orbit earlier this year, activity previously described by Space Force Vice Gen. Michael Guetlein as “dogfighting in space.”

According to Lerch, each satellite exhibited a different radar cross-section, with each successive spacecraft becoming harder to detect.

“That suggests,” he said, “that the Chinese are moving forward with what we’ve seen as a decades-long plan and research to potentially use some stealth applications in space.”

He added that Chinese military researchers have been experimenting since at least 2012 with shaping microsatellites to reduce detectability.

A 2022 research paper published by the People’s Liberation Army described lab testing of a small metallic satellite known as the “Olive-B” test article.

“Not only are they difficult to visually acquire, that shape, they believe, would be incredibly beneficial in terms of masses of the radar cross section,” Lerch said.

Russia’s low-visibility satellite in higher orbit

Russia, meanwhile, has recently launched an experimental satellite with extremely low visibility into medium Earth orbit (MEO), Lerch said. The spacecraft, known as Mozhayets, stands out for how dim it appears when observed from Earth, Breaking Defense notes.

“What’s fascinating about the Mozhayets is that it has a very, very low visual magnitude,” Lerch explained. “Just to give you some context, the Sun is a negative 26 visual magnitude… GPS satellites at MEO, they’ve got about a 6.5 visual magnitude.

This Mozhayets satellite, the Russians put up to MEO, was at about a 16 for visual magnitude, very difficult to see.”

The Mozhayets-6 satellite was built by Russia’s Mozhaisky Military Space Academy and launched on September 13 as a rideshare payload aboard a new GLONASS navigation satellite.

According to commercial tracking firm Slingshot, which publicly disclosed the satellite on November 17, Mozhayets-6 remained effectively “lost” for roughly five weeks, at least within publicly available Space Force tracking databases.

Commercial tracking firms fill critical gaps

Lerch emphasized that commercial space-tracking companies are playing an increasingly vital role in monitoring these developments, noting that unclassified awareness of stealthy satellites would be nearly impossible without their data.

According to his briefing slides, LeoLabs identified the Shiyan satellites’ activity, while Slingshot detected the Russian Mozhayets satellite—reportedly before the Space Force did, at least publicly, Breaking Defense said.

Earlier, a servicing cabin collapsed at the Baikonur Cosmodrome during the launch of the Soyuz MS-28 spacecraft to the International Space Station (ISS).

The collapse occurred at the movable fold-out structure beneath the launch pad, where work is done on the rocket’s tail section. The incident was reportedly caused by the rocket’s first-stage engine’s gas jet, which tore through part of the launch complex.

This particular service cabin is crucial for launching Russian crewed missions to the ISS, and the incident could lead to indefinite delays for Soyuz and Progress spacecraft launches.

No cosmonauts were injured, but the facility now requires repairs, which could take up to two years.

Alexa is the wife of Mumy’s son Seth, 36.

Mumy, 71, captioned two photos of his daughter-in-law with a heartfelt request for his social media followers.

Ukraine used chemical plant as cover for mercenaries – Russian MOD

Ukraine used a major chemical facility as a base for foreign mercenaries and their heavy weapons, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday, citing internal correspondence.

The allegation was presented by Major General Aleksey Rtishchev, head of Russia’s Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Protection Troops, during a briefing on alleged Ukrainian violations of international agreements governing weapons of mass destruction.

Rtishchev cited a letter from the management of the Odessa Portside Plant, a large chemical complex located about 35km from the eponymous port city.

The letter, sent to regional authorities in September, complained about the presence of “foreign specialists” and military hardware at the site and warned that such activity could provoke Russian strikes and potentially trigger the release of more than 200 tons of liquid ammonia.

Rtishchev said the forces involved were Romanian mercenaries equipped with multiple-launch rocket systems.

He claimed that since realizing Russian forces avoid targeting chemical industry sites, Kiev has been using such no-strike locations as a “technogenic shield,” ignoring the dangers posed to nearby residents.

During a briefing in July, the general reported a similar Ukrainian letter in which an executive of the state-owned company Ukrkhimtransammiak complained about unauthorized military use of an ammonia pipeline service station.

The underground pipeline was originally built in Soviet times to transport ammonia from Russia to the Odessa Region plant.

According to the Russian military, Ukraine has repeatedly made reckless military use of hazardous infrastructure and would seek to blame Moscow should an industrial disaster occur.

During the Friday briefing, Rtishchev claimed that Ukrainian forces and intelligence services continue to employ chemical agents on the battlefield and in targeted assassination attacks.

He said the Defense Ministry has gathered new evidence allegedly showing state-directed efforts to adapt heavy rotary-wing drones for the delivery of chemical munitions.

He further accused Kiev’s Western supporters of enabling such activities, including by supplying protective equipment in quantities he described as excessive for a country that officially denies having a chemical weapons program.

In 2025 alone Kiev requested over 200 additional gas masks and hazmat suits, he noted.

Russian Central Bank Sues Euroclear As EU Tries To Ram Through Assets Seizure

In what could prove a well-timed preemptive attack and shot across the bow, Russia’s Central Bank (CBR) announced Friday it has initiated legal action against Euroclear, one of Europe's largest securities depositories, which is holding 185 billion euros ($217 billion) of Russia’s frozen sovereign assets.

The CBR has filed a lawsuit against the Belgium-based bank in the Moscow Arbitration Court over "illegal actions" - just as European Union leadership is making a move to approve a plan to fund the Ukrainian government for the next years by using income from the Russian assets immobilized under EU sanctions.

"Euroclear’s actions caused harm to the Bank of Russia by preventing it from managing the funds and securities that belong to it," the Russian Central Bank said in the statement. The lawsuit seeks compensation for losses as a result of Euroclear indefinitely blocking access to the funds.

The RCB has also separately condemned wider EU plans to use Russian assets to aid Ukraine as "illegal, contrary to international law" as they violate "the principles of sovereign immunity of assets."

This is the first time in the entire frozen Russian asset saga that the bank has publicly commented on this issue. This lack of official condemnation until now is perhaps due to each side knowing greater tit-for-tat repercussions could unfold - or a point of no return could be reached if things unravel.

The European Central Bank has also long cautioned that if Europeans start grabbing other nations' money, it could undermine confidence in the euro currency. To review, the assets were frozen shortly after the Russian invasion of Ukraine:

In 2022, Western countries froze assets belonging to Russia’s central bank totaling about 260 billion euros. Most of these funds — roughly 190 billion euros — are held in accounts at the Belgian depository Euroclear. Euroclear earns profits from the frozen Russian assets, but in 2024, those proceeds were directed toward financing Ukraine. Over the past three years, European leaders have repeatedly discussed the possibility of confiscating Russia’s frozen assets.

Currently EU member states are rapidly advancing a plan ahead of a key summit next week. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is seeking to use a loophole to prevent a lone member or two from having an effective veto (especially Hungary), based on invoking emergency powers to sanction the frozen assets on a permanent basis, instead of holding the funds based on current six-month renewals, which requires unanimous agreement from all member states.

Ukraine working on ‘dirty bomb’ plot – Moscow

Ukraine is smuggling radioactive materials into the country that can be used to assemble a dirty bomb for a false-flag attack, potentially causing widespread contamination across Europe, a senior Russian defense official claims.

Speaking at a briefing on Thursday, Major General Aleksey Rtishchev, the head of Russia’s Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Troops, warned that Ukraine is engaging in what he described as “nuclear blackmail,” saying its actions pose serious security and environmental risks.

Rtishchev said shipments of spent radioactive fuel were transported through Poland and Romania without notifying the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

He added that the operation was overseen by Andrey Yermak, a former senior aide to Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky. Yermak resigned last month after being linked to a major energy-sector corruption scandal involving Zelensky’s close associates, although he was not formally charged.

”This creates the risk of creating a so-called ‘dirty bomb’ and then using it ‘under a false flag,’” Rtishchev said. A dirty bomb does not cause a nuclear explosion but disperses radioactive material over a wide area, creating severe contamination and long-term danger to civilians.

The general added that Russia has obtained training materials used by Ukraine’s security service that simulate scenarios involving the theft of ionizing radiation sources, the assembly of an explosive device, and detonation in densely populated areas.

Rtishchev stressed that Western assistance is encouraging Kiev to violate international nuclear regulations.

The “Western ‘patrons’ fail to take into account that the degradation of the system of state administration is capable of pushing not only Ukraine, but also a number of European states, to the brink of an environmental catastrophe,” he said.

Moscow previously warned that Ukraine could seek to use a dirty bomb in an attempt to derail the ongoing US-mediated peace talks.

Russian officials have said this would involve extreme risks and could prompt a severe response from Moscow, including the possibility of tactical nuclear retaliation.

USAID linked to pharma testing on Ukrainians – Russian MOD

Civilian agencies were used to mask defense-related research, Major General Aleksey Rtishchev has said

The US Agency for International Development (USAID) could have been involved in testing pharmaceutical drugs on Ukrainians, a senior Russian military official said on Friday. The agency was officially closed by the administration of US President Donald Trump this summer.

According to Major General Aleksey Rtishchev, the head of Russia’s Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Protection Troops, US officials have acknowledged defense-related work at biological laboratories in Ukraine.

He named, among others, former National Security Council spokesman John Kirby, former senior State Department official Victoria Nuland, and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Rtishchev noted that Cornell University organic chemistry professor Dave Collum told American journalist Tucker Carlson in an interview in August that pharmaceutical drugs had been tested on the Ukrainian population in 38 laboratories.

“To ensure secrecy, the customers behind such research are not military agencies but civilian agencies and non-governmental organizations. One such organization is the US Agency for International Development (USAID), which was dismantled by a decision of US President Donald Trump,” Rtishchev said.

According to the major general, USAID also provided funding for Event 201, a pandemic simulation exercise that focused on how to respond to a coronavirus outbreak. “I would like to note that these exercises were held in October 2019… shortly before the start of the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said.

Russia’s claims that USAID was involved in unlawful activity were reinforced, Rtishchev added, by comments made by billionaire Elon Musk, who previously headed a US government efficiency agency and has called USAID a “criminal organization.”

Musk alleged that USAID used taxpayer money to fund bioweapon-related research, and echoed claims that USAID supported gain-of-function coronavirus research at China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology, suggesting that this could have contributed to the emergence of Covid-19.

Russia has raised concerns in the past about Pentagon-backed biological laboratories in Ukraine and other countries near its borders, suggesting that they are involved in bioweapons research.

Zelensky claims referendum on territorial concessions necessary

Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky has indicated the country may hold a referendum on territorial concessions ahead of any peace deal with Moscow. Kiev has previously ruled out any recognition of former Ukrainian regions as part of Russia.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Zelensky suggested that the territorial dispute with Russia over Donbass – widely considered to be the most serious stumbling block on the way to peace – should be put to a vote.

“The Russians want the whole of Donbass – we don’t accept that. I believe that the Ukrainian people will answer this question. Whether in the form of elections or a referendum, the Ukrainian people must have a say.”

His remarks came as US President Donald Trump urged Zelensky, whose presidential term expired last year, to hold elections. While Zelensky did not reject the request outright, he insisted that an election can only take place if the West provides Kiev with strong security guarantees.

According to Zelensky, the ongoing talks with US officials over a peace deal included proposals to designate parts of Donbass as a “free economic zone,” adding that Moscow prefers the phrase “demilitarized zone.”

“The Americans are searching for an appropriate format,” the Ukrainian leader said.

Trump has expressed frustration over the slow progress towards a deal, suggesting that Zelensky is standing in the way.

“I thought we were very close with Ukraine to having a deal. In fact, other than President Zelensky, his people loved the concept of the deal,” he said, while acknowledging that reaching an agreement is “a little bit complicated because you’re cutting up land in a certain way.”

The initial US roadmap to peace leaked to the media last month reportedly called for Ukraine to relinquish the parts of Donbass it still controls, freeze the front lines in Russia’s Kherson and Zaporozhye Regions, stay out of NATO, and limit the size of its armed forces, in return for security guarantees.

Moscow maintains that a sustainable peace can only be reached if Ukraine withdraws completely from the new Russian territories, and commits to neutrality, demilitarization, and denazification.

Palantir Quietly Lands In Education Department Through Foreign Funding Portal

Palantir is expanding its reach into the Education Department, where the data analytics and software giant is helping develop the agency’s new portal for universities across the country to report foreign donations.

The quiet move marks the technology company’s latest expansion into federal government work, particularly in data management services.

An Education Department spokesperson confirmed Palantir was involved as a subcontractor for its revamped foreign funding portal, which is set to be rolled out early next month.

The agency announced the portal project this week, but did not name the vendors behind it. The portal will serve as a central place for schools to disclose to the department any foreign-source gifts and contracts worth $250,000 or more, the agency said.

Palantir is a subcontractor to Monkton, a northern Virginia-based computer and network security company, the spokesperson told FedScoop. According to federal spending records, the Education Department awarded a contract to Monkton in September that obligated $9.8 million for the design, development, and deployment of a “Section 117 Information Sharing Environment Capable of Providing Greater Transparency.” Palantir, however, is not publicly listed as a subcontractor on the project.

Section 117 of the Higher Education Act requires schools to disclose foreign gifts and contracts over $250,000.

The contract with Monkton could cost the agency up to $61.8 million, more than six times the cost of the modernization project for the ed.gov website, which was allocated $10 million in 2022.

Speculation over the portal began after the agency’s Office of the Chief Information Officer registered a new federal domain, foreignfundinghighered.gov, which was discovered by a bot tracking new government domains.

When FedScoop visited the link shortly before 10:30 a.m. ET on Thursday, the website showed a blocked network alert, which read, “The network connection you are using is not in your enrollment’s ingress allowlist. Please contact your enrollment administrator or Palantir representative.”

DOT Discovers Over Half of NY Commercial Drivers Are Illegals, Threatens to Revoke Federal Funding.

U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Secretary Sean Duffy warned on Friday that New York could lose $73 million in federal highway funding following a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) audit. The audit revealed that 53 percent of sampled commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs) issued by the New York Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) were unlawfully granted to foreign nationals residing in the U.S. illegally.“

When more than half of the licenses reviewed were issued illegally, it isn’t just a mistake—it is a dereliction of duty by state leadership,” Secretary Duffy said, adding: “Gov. Hochul must immediately revoke these illegally issued licenses. If they refuse to follow the law, we will withhold federal highway funding.”

The FMCSA audit reviewed 200 New York CDL records, finding that 107 licenses were unlawfully issued. In some cases, the DMV reportedly issued licenses based on expired lawful presence documents or defaulted to granting eight-year licenses to foreign commercial drivers without verifying their legal status. FMCSA Administrator Derek Barrs labeled the state’s practices a “grossly unacceptable deviation from federal regulations.”

However, New York officials are denying the allegations. DMV spokesman Walter McClure accused Sec. Duffy of political posturing, stating, “Secretary Duffy is lying about New York state once again in a desperate attempt to distract from the failing, chaotic administration he represents.” McClure insisted that the state complies with all federal regulations and reviews lawful status documents for all CDL applicants.The Department of Transportation (DOT) has given New York 30 days to respond. In addition to revoking the illegally issued licenses, Duffy has urged the state to pause issuing new licenses or learner’s permits and conduct a comprehensive audit of its CDL program.

How Epstein Used The Ivy League To Launder His Reputation

Pedophile Jeffrey Epstein ensured that a Google search for his name would return several websites about his donations to science before any headlines about his 2008 conviction, new documents show — the clearest evidence yet that he courted the Ivy League to whitewash his sexual crimes.

Epstein had help amplifying links about his scientific largess in order to crowd out headlines about his exploitation of underage girls, emails released by the House Oversight Committee on Nov. 12 show. One aide to Epstein described the project as “wack-a-mole,” hammering headlines about his pedophilia into search engine obscurity with hyperlinks portraying Epstein as a benevolent booster of evolutionary biology and mathematics.

“I was never a client of Epstein’s and never had any engagement with him other than fundraising for MIT,” Hoffman said on X on Nov. 14.

“I am deeply ashamed of my actions and recognize the pain they have caused,” Summers said in a statement on Nov. 17. “I take full responsibility for my misguided decision to continue communicating with Mr. Epstein.”

Harvard announced that it would initiate a new probe into its ties to Epstein on Nov. 19, and Summers announced he would leave his role as a Harvard instructor during the investigation. MIT has announced no such renewed probe.

Harvard added J.P. Morgan Asset & Wealth Management CEO Mary Erdoes to the governing board of its endowment on Nov. 25, the Harvard Crimson reported. Erdoes was in constant contact with Epstein while he was one of JP Morgan’s wealthiest clients, according to a Nov. 19 Senate memo.

Harvard did not respond to a request for comment.

MIT spokesperson Kimberly Allen said the university has nothing to add to the 2020 report it commissioned on Epstein.

“Following that review, MIT took a number of steps, including enhancements to our gift acceptance processes and donating to four nonprofits supporting survivors of sexual abuse,” Allen said.

Hoffman could not be reached for comment. Summers did not respond to a request for comment sent to his spokesperson.

Attorney Mehek Cooke has heard from Medicaid providers among Ohio’s Somali population that they were pressured into participating in a fraud operation involving funds for fake medical conditions, she told Fox News. The allegations come after federal investigators revealed more than $1 billion in stolen taxpayer funds in Minnesota overwhelmingly tied to its large Somali population, putting the issue in the national spotlight.

Scammers are taking advantage of an Ohio Medicaid policy that allows one to receive thousands of dollars to ostensibly provide medical care to a family member, with doctors cashing on their own funds in return for approving the payments, Cooke said.

“They’re just rubberstamping a lot of these,” Cooke told Fox News. “And then that same individual, a week later, that’s supposed to be bedridden, is all over social media, whether they’re out dancing at a party or something like that. So, the symptoms aren’t really adding up at the end of the day.”

“Say I want to take care of my elderly aging parents at some point,” she said. “I can become a home health provider, and this is where the Somali community has been really clever. They’ve been able to find loopholes in Ohio law to provide for care for family members, even when they don’t need it.”

After the Department of Justice (DOJ) brought charges against alleged fraudsters in Minnesota, another whistleblower, Christopher Bernardini, alleged that his Somali-owned health services contractor in Maine falsified records to benefit from Medicaid.

Cooke likewise said that the Somali-linked fraud revealed publicly in Minnesota is only the “tip of the spear,” according to Fox News.

“What we’re seeing in Minneapolis is just a snippet of what’s happening in Ohio,” she said.

Russia says Ukraine targeted chemical sites, record drone wave disrupts Moscow flights

The Russian Defence Ministry on Friday said Ukraine attempted to launch drone attacks on chemical facilities storing first-class hazardous substances, but claimed the strikes were successfully intercepted.

Major General Alexey Rtishchev, Chief of Russia’s Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Troops, told reporters that sites in Veliky Novgorod and the town of Rossosh in the Voronezh region were targeted.

Rtishchev also accused Ukrainian forces of trying to destroy chemical facilities in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, warning that such attacks could expose civilians to dangerous substances.

He said the Zarya industrial site in Rubezhnoye, the Azot plant in Severodonetsk, and the Coke and Chemical Plant in Avdeyevka had all come under repeated shelling.

Separately, Russian officials said a Ukrainian drone struck a residential building in the city of Tver, northwest of Moscow, injuring seven people in an overnight attack.

The developments came a day after US President Donald Trump said he was “extremely frustrated” with both Kyiv and Moscow over the ongoing war, warning it could escalate into a “third world war.”

Expressing concern over stalled peace efforts, Trump said, “I’d like to see the killing stop. Twenty-five thousand people died last month, mostly soldiers. I would love to see it stop.”

His press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the president “doesn’t want any more talk” and wants the conflict to end, adding that special envoy Steve Witkoff remained in contact with both sides.

As per Moscow Times report, Russian authorities separately reported that air defences shot down 287 Ukrainian drones overnight — one of the highest numbers recorded since the war began.

The drone wave caused temporary airport closures in Moscow, delaying or cancelling around 200 flights, and diverting some to St Petersburg.

Eyewitness reports and footage verified by Astra indicated that a fire broke out at or near the Acron mineral fertiliser plant in Veliky Novgorod during the attacks.

Regional governor Alexander Dronov said 19 drones were downed, one person was injured and damage to buildings was “insignificant.”

Astra noted that it could not confirm whether the Acron facility itself was hit. The outlet also reported a possible strike on Acron’s subsidiary PAO Dorogobuzh in the Smolensk region near the Belarus border.

Portuguese Law Enforcement: Latin American ‘Narco-Subs’ Are Swarming Europe

Portugal’s chief narcotics police officer, Artur Vaz, said on Monday that Latin American drug cartels are shipping huge amounts of cocaine to Europe, frequently using cheap “narco-subs” that have proven difficult for European coastal patrols to detect.

“Europe is literally being flooded with cocaine,” Vaz told Fox News. “Criminal organizations … acquire the drugs in Latin America, and then the price at which they place it in the markets … there’s a big profit margin here.”

According to Vaz, some of the cartel’s products are shipped by traditional methods, including illicit loads on cargo ships and high-speed drug boats, but the “narco-subs” are a new threat. They are not true submarines, but rather cheaply made boats whose hulls are mostly hidden under the water. Only the top of the ship is exposed above the waves, and the cartels found it easy to paint the hull with colors that match the waves of the Atlantic Ocean.

Portugal managed to intercept a narco-sub in early November, with support from the UK National Crime Agency and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), seizing over 1.7 metric tons of cocaine that was bound for the Iberian peninsula.

The ship had a crew of four, including two Ecuadorians, a Colombian, and a Venezuelan – a mix that told Portuguese police they were dealing with a multi-national cartel. The narco-sub was so shoddily constructed that it sank in the Atlantic after the crew and cargo were seized.

“Between the heat, the vessel’s fumes and high waves, with difficult weather conditions, even one day is tricky. By the end of 15 or 20 days all you want is to get out,” Portuguese drug enforcement official Vitor Ananias said of the hellish conditions endured by the crew.

The intercept in November was apparently made possible by a tip that told Portuguese authorities there was a narco-sub on the way. Sjoerd Top, director of the Maritime Analysis and Operations Center-Narcotics (MAOC-N), noted there have been “very few successful interceptions of semi-submersibles” and commended the Portuguese Navy for doing a “brilliant job.”

Portugal captured another narco-sub in March, along with its cargo of 6.5 tonnes of cocaine, but drug enforcement experts say most of the subs are getting through, bringing huge amounts of cocaine to Europe’s shores.

Russia carried out a six-hour drone attack on a Ukrainian state-owned coal mine overnight, injuring two workers and sparking a large fire, Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy reported.

Deputy Energy Minister Roman Andarak said around 18 drones struck the mine’s territory, causing significant damage. Fire crews managed to extinguish the blaze within hours, News.Az reports, citing foreign media.

“Two employees were injured and are receiving all necessary medical assistance,” Andarak said.

Russia has repeatedly targeted Ukraine’s mining infrastructure:

October 19: A major strike on a DTEK-owned mine in the Dnipropetrovsk region left nearly 200 miners trapped underground.

August 26: Another DTEK mine was hit, killing one employee and injuring three.

Attacks the same day left several Dobropillia-area mines without power, trapping hundreds of miners who were later rescued.

In earlier strikes, eight mines in the Dnipropetrovsk region lost power, leaving 2,600 miners underground until emergency crews brought them to safety.

Ukraine says these repeated attacks aim to cripple critical energy and industrial infrastructure as winter approaches.

The American Zionist Movement’s problem is not merely organizational incompetence. It is an ideological collapse.

I attended the American Zionist Movement’s biennial expecting urgency, seriousness, and some acknowledgment that October 7 permanently changed the Jewish world. I anticipated reflection, accountability, and at least a hint of strategic reconsideration. Instead, I entered a room frozen in time, led by people who seemed unaware that the ground beneath them had already collapsed.

Most attendees were well into their sixties and seventies, presiding over a movement they no longer understand and will not live to see renewed or replaced. Out of the entire gathering, perhaps three of us were under forty. Even before the word “future” was spoken, the contradiction was clear. The opening speakers only made it more obvious.

One of the first speakers delivered a talk so hollow and disconnected from reality that people quietly left—not out of disrespect, but boredom. That moment was not accidental. It was telling. It showed what the American Zionist Movement has become: an organization unable to create relevance, urgency, or meaning in the very moment it claims to shape the future.

The conference that couldn’t lead itself

The dysfunction was impossible to ignore. Sessions overlapped, vanished, or shifted without explanation. Communication was inconsistent or nonexistent. As both a sponsor and an invited speaker, I was afforded none of the basic courtesy one would expect at a serious gathering, let alone a national assembly claiming to guide American Zionism. Leadership that cannot manage logistics has no credibility in managing ideology.

Meanwhile, the AZM’s post-conference public relations messaging depicted the event as visionary, unified, and forward-looking. That narrative bore no resemblance to reality. What actually took place was not leadership but theater—a self-affirming ritual designed to reassure donors and insiders that the machinery still works, even as it grinds to a halt. The gap between the PR spin and the lived experience was so wide it bordered on parody.

Nowhere was the failure more revealing than the so-called Young Leadership Panel. On paper, it promised renewal. In practice, it exposed the movement’s decay. Two or three genuinely young participants sat on stage alongside legacy figures who had no structural reason to be there. Their presence was not about mentorship or transition; it was about control. What followed was not a conversation but a justification exercise.

The panel offered no concrete ideas, no pathways into leadership, no requests for engagement, and no challenges to the existing system. Young participants were expected to express gratitude rather than vision, deference rather than disruption. More than one speaker who attended the conference acknowledged afterward that the panel was confusing and misconstructed—that legacy figures did not need to occupy that space, and that even some of them likely knew it.

Instead of asking young people what they needed, the panelists explained why the system already works. Instead of cultivating leaders, they defended structures. This was not an accident. It was the point. I know this dynamic personally.

In a move that should alarm anyone who is pro-free speech, members of Canada’s Liberal Party have capitulated to pressure from Quebec’s ultra-secular separatist party by voting to strip away a longstanding religious exemption from the country’s hate-speech laws as part of the draconian Bill C-9, also known as the so-called Combating Hate Act.

Progress appeared to stall after an initial committee meeting to go over the bill was abruptly cancelled last week. Three sources speaking to CBC News said the bill was held up because Justice Minister Sean Fraser’s office brokered the deal with the Bloc without getting buy-in from the Prime Minister’s Office. Tuesday’s meeting was scheduled last-minute after last week’s cancellation. The Bloc has long sought to remove the religious exemption, saying religion could be used as a cover for promoting hate, such as homophobia and antisemitism. Blanchet said his party would not support the bill without the amendment.

Conservatives immediately sounded the alarm. Canadian Opposition Leader Pierre Poilievre warned on X that the amendment would “criminalize sections of the Bible, Qur’an, Torah and other sacred texts.”

At Tuesday’s meeting, Conservative MP Andrew Lawton accused the Liberals and Bloc of mounting “a full-scale assault on religious freedom.” When the amendment passed anyway, Conservative members filibustered, forcing an adjournment before clause-by-clause study could be completed.

Canada’s Justice Minister Fraser, scrambling to contain the fallout, claimed the change “will not criminalize faith” and “in no way, shape or form prevent a religious leader from reading their religious texts.” Freedom of religion remains a Charter right, Fraser said—as if repeating the obvious somehow negates the chilling effect of removing an explicit statutory shield.

Fraser went on to argue that the exemption is “redundant” and that the government knows of no case in which it has ever led to an acquittal. One struggles to recall the last time the Carney government boasted about making a law stricter because the existing one had never actually been needed as a defense.

Sheila Gunn Reid of Rebel News summed up her opposition to the bill perfectly.

“Never forget: during COVID, this same political establishment jailed pastors for the “crime” of holding worship services. If they were willing to imprison pastors for preaching, what do you think they’ll do with new Criminal Code powers aimed explicitly at “religiously motivated” speech? They’ve done it before. They’ll do it again,” she wrote. “Bill C-9 is not a hate-speech bill. It is a power-seizing bill. It is a faith-targeting bill. It is a censorship bill. And it must be defeated. If you value free speech, free worship, free thought — now is the time to speak.”

Bill C-9 isn’t law yet as it still requires third reading in the House and passage through the Senate.

Pentagon UAP Briefings Added in NDAA

The conferenced version of the fiscal year (FY) 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) gives the Pentagon’s UFO sleuths three specific mandates, including expanded briefings to Congress.

The Defense Department’s (DOD) All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) was established in 2022 to investigate unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP), which are more colloquially known as UFOs.

The DOD has been rebranded as the War Department by the Trump administration.

However, lawmakers have found issue with the quantity and the transparency of reports from the AARO to Congress.

To address those deficiencies, lawmakers added several new requirements to the NDAA, which establishes defense funding levels and priorities.

First, the NDAA directs the AARO to provide expanded congressional briefings on UAPs.

Specifically, the mandate targets any UAP intercepts conducted by the U.S. Northern Command and the North American Aerospace Defense Command.

Briefings must include the number, location and nature of intercepts, as well as descriptions of procedures and protocols followed, and any data collected or analyzed.

The first briefing must also include intercepts dating back to Jan. 1, 2004, that have not previously been reported.

Second, the NDAA eliminates duplicative reporting requirements and streamlines how UAP-related data is provided to AARO.

It requires the director of national intelligence and the defense secretary to ensure all intelligence community elements and DOD components immediately make such data available to the office, while protecting intelligence sources and methods.

Third, the NDAA requires the AARO to account for all security classification guides that govern UAP-related reporting and investigations, an area that has drawn new attention on Capitol Hill as Republicans call for UAP document declassification.

According to the NDAA provision, the director may issue a consolidated classification matrix for programs affected by UAP inquiries, and information on these guides must appear in AARO’s 2026 annual report.

The FY 2026 NDAA, which authorizes $900.6 billion in defense spending, cleared the House on Dec. 10 by a 312-112 vote.

Leadership from the House and Senate Armed Services committees released the compromise text on Dec. 7, and Senate passage is expected the week of Dec. 15.

The White House has already signaled its support, putting the bill on track to become law before the holiday recess.

Government intelligence officer assigned to secret UFO investigation 'said wolf-like creature that walked on two legs appeared at his East Coast home afterwards'

A rocket scientist who directed a top-secret investigation into UFOs has spoken about the bizarre things his colleagues claimed to have witnessed.

Dr James Lacatski, an intelligence analyst previously with the Defense Intelligence Agency, revealed that during his time investigating UFOs, many witnesses recalled paranormal experiences after seeing the objects.

'We realized that people who openly say "I observed a UFO up close," maybe on the ground that they always seemed to have a paranormal connection in some ways, if you gently push them,' Lacatski told investigative journalist George Knapp in a recent interview with local CBS affiliate KLAS.

Lacatski directed the Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program, a top-secret initiative under the DIA in the 2000s.

He recalled that many officials with the AAWSAP experienced a 'hitchhiker effect' where they seemed to come into contact with paranormal phenomena long after they left the program's home base in Nevada.

Lacatski said that at least five highly experienced intelligence officers saw balls of light, shadowy figures, and even creepy creatures.

One investigator was plagued by mysterious orbs when he returned to his home on the East Coast, and even saw what he described as a wolf-like creature that walked on two legs, according to Lacatski.

'I mean, what, did it get on a train or a plane to come to Washington?' Lacatski questioned.

'It left deep scratch marks on the tree it was resting against; there was physical evidence.'

The AAWSAP launched in 2008 after officials at DIA became intrigued by reported paranormal experiences and UFO sightings in the Uinta Basin in northeastern Utah.

They determined that Bigelow Ranch, owned by Las Vegas aerospace titan Robert Bigelow, was a site of bizarre activity.

'I could see from my organization the threat potential, and we were uncovering many of the things you were observing, you know, strange creatures,' Lacatski told KLAS.

'I mean, think of inducing what might be called delusions by some people into an enemy force. We wanted to learn what can be weaponized here,' he continued.

Lacatski put together a team approved by DIA with his colleague Jay Stratton. Late Nevada Senator Harry Reid helped secure the funding for the project.

Bigelow also became an integral part of the initiative, with his company becoming the program's contractor.

The mission started as an investigation into UFO technology, but officials were also examining potential health impacts on witnesses who reported seeing UFOs.

The health impacts included psychological effects, and the AAWSAP started to observe a wide range of shocking, seemingly paranormal instances that witnesses to UFOs began having.

Lacatski said that multiple witnesses reported experiencing 'hitchhiker events,' where individuals seemed to take the experiences with them after seeing the UFO.

He added that the individuals who reported these bizarre events included the Las Vegas manager for AAWSAP Dr Colm Kelleher, physicist Dr Eric Davis, Stratton, several security workers, and Robert Bigelow himself.

The AAWSAP existed for only about two years before funding was paused. Lacatski told KLAS in November that Reid was worried about his reelection race in 2010 and was concerned that his involvement in the project would impact his chances of winning.

Reid also confided to Lacatski that there was a 'spy' in his Washington office leaking information to help his opponent win, according to Lacatski's account to KLAS.

Reid ended up securing a victory but lost his seat as Senate majority leader, and the program eventually fizzled out.

KLAS reporter Knapp had covered AAWSAP during its existence and met Lacatski in 2018 at a meeting arranged by Reid.

The government has not officially released any documents related to the program, but Lacatski has authored several books on the topic, including Skinwalkers at the Pentagon, co-authored with Knapp.

Lacatski released another book on his own in September, titled: Inside the US Government Covert UFO Program: New Insights, which revealed multiple paranormal phenomena the AAWSAP team experienced.

The Daily Mail reached out to DIA for comment on the AAWSAP's findings.

Around 33 people are arrested each day for voicing opinions or engaging in legal actions that the government does not approve of. Arrests have increased and surpassed national borders. A man from Yorkshire was on holiday in Florida, participating in a favorite state pastime of marksmanship. He posted a picture of himself holding a rifle on social media, which should be perfectly legal. The rifle was lawfully owned and he was on private land. Nevertheless, the image was reported to the authorities, who descended on his home in the middle of the night. He spent the night in jail and later appeared at Bradford Magistrate Court where he faced up to six months imprisonment.

“‘I have not been able to sleep, I’ve lived in fear of a knock at my door for the last three months. I haven’t spoken to my neighbours for four months. It has damaged my ability to run my business,” the man told reporters. “I thought 1984 was a book, not an instruction manual.”

“1984” has been an instruction manual for the UK and other governments who are carefully monitoring every citizen, waiting for a misstep. Cameras are absolutely everywhere; it is only a matter of time before they start using drones to monitor citizens as they did in the book.

I have warned for decades that political systems enter decline when confidence shifts from government to the people. The crackdown on protests, censorship of dissenting views, and judicial overreach are the classic signs of a government losing legitimacy. The government insists it is “protecting” the public, when in reality, these measures are an attempt to maintain control over a population that sees government as the problem.

Thought control is merely the beginning. We are looking at Western governments implementing capital controls and restricting the freedom of movement.

The British people are experiencing what history has illustrated time and time again. Tyranny does not appear suddenly. Rather, it creeps into daily life until the people finally say “enough.” Until then, the ruling class will continue to believe they can legislate obedience, silence opposition, and cling to a system already in decline.
