US inflation slowed to its lowest rate in more than four years, an unexpected and welcome development at a time when President Donald Trump's dramatically escalated tariffs are expected to cause prices to rise.
Consumer prices rose 0.2% last month, bringing the annual inflation rate to 2.3%, an unexpectedly cooler reading than the 2.4% increase seen in March, according to the latest Consumer Price Index data released Tuesday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Ivermectin a Weapon? Beyond genetic sensitivity, ivermectin misuse or overdose may lead to generalized toxicity for animals and humans, characterized by neurological, gastrointestinal, and cardiovascular disturbances.
General risks include:
Neurological Issues: Seizures, disorientation, ataxia, tremors, confusion, coma.
Gastrointestinal Problems: Vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia.
Respiratory Depression: Difficulty breathing, collapse, potential death in severe overdoses.
Animal Studies (including rodents):
High-dose administration of ivermectin has indicated potential adverse reproductive effects, such as reduced fertility, altered sperm quality, impaired ovarian function, and embryo toxicity or pregnancy complications. However, these are usually observed at dosages much higher than typical therapeutic doses.
Adverse effects more commonly occur due to:
Incorrect or excessive dosage.
Use of livestock-grade ivermectin in companion animals or humans.
