205 Arrested In Child Sex Crimes Raid Across SoCal

Police worked across five counties to arrest 205 people connected to online child sex crimes in a less-than-week span, authorities said.

The operation, which ran from Aug. 12-23, netted 205 suspects arrested across five counties on various charges ranging from the continuous sexual abuse of a child under 10 to the distribution of child sexual abuse material, the Los Angeles Police Department announced.

"Through (investigators') diligent efforts, vulnerable children were rescued from further abuse, and victims who had been silenced by the atrocious crimes of child sexual abuse found their voices restored," police said. "Justice was served during the Operation Online Guardian as numerous suspects, who sought to prey on our young through social media and chat applications, were apprehended and brought to face the consequences of their actions."

Authorities in the first phase of the operation conducted proactive undercover investigations on various social media platforms. Then, police served search warrants at homes throughout the five counties and executed arrest warrants, police said.

Police said the LA Regional Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force utilized "digital forensic dogs" and the assistance of the LA County Department of Children and Family Service and the LAPD's Gang and Narcotics Division and Vice Units to arrest 205 people on a range of charges, including:

sodomy of a child under 10

continuous sexual abuse of a child

lewd acts with a child

meeting a minor for lewd purposes/sex

contact/attempted contact with a minor for sex

sending obscene matter to a child for sex

penetration with a foreign object by force or fear

sodomy

possession of child sexual abuse material

distribution of child sexual abuse material

child annoying

failure to register as a convicted sex offender

violation of conditions of parole

Boeing memo to employees announces necessary actions to preserve cash and safeguard shared future

Boeing shares have lost over 40% this year

Boeing shares slipped on Monday as the planemaker grapples with an ongoing strike and a ballooning threat to its bottom line. Chief Financial Officer Brain West, in a letter to employees, outlined the risks facing the company while also announcing a hiring freeze as well as a delay in pay hikes for salaried workers.

Memo to Boeing Employees

Team,

As you know, our IAM 751 and W24 represented employees in the Pacific Northwest are on strike. We are working in good faith to reach a new contract agreement that reflects their feedback and enables operations to resume. However, our business is in a difficult period. This strike jeopardizes our recovery in a significant way and we must take necessary actions to preserve cash and safeguard our shared future. Importantly, we will protect all funding for safety, quality and direct customer support work.

Actions include:

Instituting a hiring freeze across Boeing for all levels, and pausing on any pay increases associated with internal executive and management promotions

Stopping any travel that is not for critical customer, program, regulatory or supply chain activity

Eliminating all first and business class air travel, including for the Executive Council

Suspending non-essential capital expenditures and facilities spending

Suspending outside consultant spend and temporarily releasing non-essential contractors

Pausing charitable and other contributions, and advertising and marketing expenditures

Reducing company participation in airshows, tradeshows and special events

Pausing employee recognition and team event spending

Stopping catered meal and food services at Boeing facilities unless customer related

Cancelling any team off-site meetings. On-site meetings that require travel should be made virtual.

In parallel to the steps above, we are planning to make significant reductions in supplier expenditures and will stop issuing the majority of supplier purchase orders on the 737, 767 and 777 programs. We are also considering the difficult step of temporary furloughs for many employees, managers and executives in the coming weeks.

I know that these actions will create some uncertainty and concern, as well as many questions. We’ll be sharing additional information in the coming days as we have detailed guidance on implementation of these measures.

NEW: Per newly released CBP data, nearly 530,000 migrants have flown into the US & have been paroled into the country as part of the Biden administration’s controversial CHNV mass parole program. Additionally, approx 813,000 migrants have scheduled appointments via the CBP One app at ports of entry to be released into the US.

These are “lawful pathways” created by the Biden administration, and these numbers do not count in Border Patrol data, as they are not illegal crossings.

Most of the migrants taking part in these programs are paroled into the U.S. on two year humanitarian parole grants, which also allow them to apply to work.

Every single ICE source/contact I’ve spoken with has told me the same thing - they do not have the manpower or resources to find and deport such a large population of people if they overstay these 2 year grants.

As it stands now, ICE’s non-detained docket is on track to hit 8 million by the end of the year, and each ICE officer currently manages an average of 7,000 cases. The agency is already tasked with tracking down and removing those with final orders of removal, aggravated felons, gotaways, etc. They physically do not have the bodies to track and remove this additional population - and there has been no government agency monitoring parole expiration, according to a recent DHS Inspector General report.

The bottom line - the more than 1 million migrants the Biden admin has allowed into the U.S. via these programs are here to stay - even if they fall out of status and become unlawfully in the U.S.
