New Jared Kushner Audio Tape Shows President Trump At Odds With Doctors In April

Newly released audio from Jared Kushner finds the president was at odds with top healthcare officials as early as April, near the start of a pandemic that is still growing in severity.

Schumer PAC Teams with Montana Liberals Disguised as Grassroots Hunting Group

Ad campaign woos gun owners

A liberal super PAC disguising itself as a grassroots hunting group partnered with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.) in a new ad aimed at bolstering Montana Democrat Steve Bullock.

Montana Hunters and Anglers has spent millions to blanket state airwaves with ads implying that Bullock has the support of local sportsmen. The group typically attempts to obscure its ties to national liberals—its website says it "puts Montana first, not bigwigs back east." Its latest spot, however, is a joint venture with Schumer's Senate Majority PAC.

The ad, which started airing across the state this week, comes after the Senate Majority PAC reported spending nearly $1.5 million on media buys opposing Bullock's Republican opponent, Sen. Steve Daines.

While the spot aims to tie Daines to wealthy, out-of-state donors, Montana Hunters and Anglers is bankrolled almost exclusively by liberal interest groups and progressive megadonors.

The group has received $700,000 from Silicon Valley physician Karla Jurvetson, $150,000 from Atlanta billionaire Arthur Blank, and $50,000 from the Sixteen Thirty Fund, a liberal dark money network that allows wealthy donors to contribute anonymously to political groups. Both Jurvetson and Blank have also made maximum contributions to Bullock's campaign.

More than 92 percent of the Democrat's funds come from outside Montana, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

Montana Hunters and Anglers has also worked to deflect focus away from Bullock's embrace of gun control. After Bullock received an "F" rating from the NRA, the super PAC released an ad claiming the Democrat "took on liberals in his own party" to protect gun rights.

During his failed presidential campaign, however, Bullock declared his support for a slew of gun-control measures, such as banning assault weapons, restricting magazine sizes, and implementing red-flag laws.

Philadelphia Police were ordered not to arrest looters by 1st Deputy Police Commissioner Melvin Singleton, according to a report from FOX29 News.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo Thursday morning condemned the arrest of three student pro-democracy activists in Hong Kong by its police force and called for their release in an official press statement.

Over the past few years, mainland China‘s authoritarian regime has substantially furthered its control and influence over the Hong Kong Police Force as well as the city’s government. This has seen millions of Hong Kongers take to the streets to protest what they see as China stripping them of their autonomy, democracy, and basic human rights, and have even battled it out with police units.

“The United States strongly condemns the arrest and detention of three student democracy activists and calls on Hong Kong authorities to release those that remain detained immediately,” Pompeo wrote. “The Beijing-controlled Hong Kong government continues to stifle dissent, repress public opinion, and use law enforcement for political purposes.”

The three pro-democracy activists were arrested Tuesday when they briefly entered the city’s U.S. consulate in an apparent attempt to seek asylum, an unspecified person familiar with the matter told Bloomberg News.

The New York Times report, on the other hand, made no mention of them entering the consulate prior to arrest.

The Times reported that one of these activists, a 19-year-old named Tony Chung, was arrested at a coffee shop just across the street from the consulate, according to the U.K.-based activist group Friends of Hong Kong. The group also relayed the presumption that Chung’s plan was to enter the consulate and ask for asylum. Additionally, the paper shared in their report a 35-second video published by The South China Morning Post that shows what appears to be plain-clothes police leading Chung away in an area near the consulate.

Details remain murky a year after FBI employee’s death

Last October, an investigation was launched into the death of an FBI photographer who lived in Owens Crossroads. Kathleen Miller was found dead in two feet of water during a trip with her husband, Greg Miller.

They were visiting the remote Nantahala National Forest in North Carolina.

The husband quickly became a person of interest for investigators. But it’s been a year since authorities began looking into Kathleen’s death, no arrests have been made, and members of her family have plenty of still-unanswered questions.

Last fall, Kathleen Miller, an accomplished photographer, and her husband, Greg, decided to take a trip to beautiful, isolated, Nantahala National Forest in Graham County, North Carolina.

On October 7th, a driver called 911. He said Greg Miller flagged him down on a remote road in the forest saying his wife had fallen in the creek and he could not get her out.

Kathleen Miller, a lifelong swimmer, had apparently drowned in a creek only 22 inches deep. At first, Kathleen’s death was treated as an accident.

“I didn’t receive the call until after she was already at the funeral home and by then he had made some statements, and some comments, and some things that came up that started making what was originally thought of as an accidental drowning started to become suspicious,” said Graham County Sheriff Jerry Crisp.

Sheriff Crisp says Greg Miller couldn’t get his story straight.

“He just gave two or three different versions of as to how she had drowned,” the Sheriff said.

News 19 has done some digging into Greg Miller. Court records show in 1999, he pleaded guilty to a grand larceny charge in Ontario County, New York. The judge issued a protection order in that case after prosecutors told the court Greg intimidated a female witness.

News 19 aired a story about the mysterious circumstances surrounding Kathleen Miller’s death in November of 2019. After that, Sheriff Crisp says Greg Miller went to the FBI to talk.

Last year the Department of Justice released a statement about the death of Kathleen Miller, an FBI employee, saying in part, “A loss to the DOJ family is always a shock and felt by us all.”

Earlier this month News 19 asked the FBI investigators in North Carolina about the status of the investigation.

A spokesperson for the agency told News 19 quote, “Per Department of Justice policy, we cannot release information about ongoing investigations.”

New York Times’ Miles Taylor Op-Ed Shows Everything Wrong With Anonymous Sources

If The New York Times was willing to lie about its anonymous source for their high-profile information operation, imagine the lies they're willing to tell about all the other anonymous sources they use.

Two years after the New York Times published an op-ed from what they described as an anonymous, principled conservative “senior administration official,” it turned out to have been written by a low-level bureaucrat who later worked for tech giant Google and gave money to far-left Democrats.

Miles Taylor revealed he was the author of the highly hyped op-ed headlined “I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration.” He claimed to secretly work to thwart Trump’s policy goals as the elected president of the United States.

While constitutional scholars worried about implications of such unaccountable thwarting of the will of the people, most media focused instead on identifying who “Anonymous” was. The New York Times assured readers that when it said “senior administration official,” it meant someone “in the upper echelon of an administration.”

Not A Senior Administration Official

People took seriously the New York Times’ claim that the anonymous writer was in the upper echelon of an administration. In “13 people who might be the author of The New York Times op-ed,” CNN followed the New York Times’ lead by offering the names of actual senior administration officials, such as Don McGahn, Dan Coats, Kellyanne Conway, Kirstjen Nielsen, John Kelly, Jeff Sessions, James Mattis, Nikki Haley, Jared Kushner, and Ivanka Trump. Chris Cillizza also suggested it might be Fiona Hill or Melania Trump.

He also wrote of the Times, “They aren’t publishing an anonymous op-ed from just anyone in the Trump administration. They especially aren’t publishing one that alleges a near-coup … If some midlevel bureaucrat in the Trump administration comes to the Times — or has an intermediary reach out to the Times — asking to write a piece like this one without their name attached to it, the answer would be an immediate ‘no.'” He added:

Given all of that, it’s telling that the Times was willing to extend the cloak of anonymity to this author — especially, again, because of the stakes and the target. This is not a decision made lightly. That the decision was made to publish it should tell you that this isn’t some disgruntled mid-to-upper manager buried in the bureaucracy. This is a genuine high-ranking official. A name most people who follow politics — and maybe some who don’t — would recognize. The Times simply wouldn’t do what it did for anything short of a major figure in Trump world.

Homes raided as cops crackdown on crime gangs in Sydney

Heavily-armed police paid a surprise visit to six men and one woman in South Wentworthville yesterday as part of a crackdown on Sydney's underworld.

Ukraine’s Top Court Reduces Anti-Graft Protections

Ukraine’s Constitutional Court has dealt a blow to those fighting to end graft, ruling that officials who intentionally file false information on their asset declarations cannot be held criminally liable.

The National Anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) Thursday called the decision political, noting that it significantly limited the powers of the country’s anti-graft infrastructure: NABU and the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP).

The NABU statement said the Constitutional Court “not only legitimizes the intentions of politicians and officials to hide from society illegally acquired wealth, but also protects the interests of some judges of the Constitutional Court,” some of whom may themselves be under NABU investigation.

The court’s decision means the Constitution Court’s judges cannot be asked about their wealth or the origin of that wealth, and cannot be sued over discrepancies between their declared and actual wealth.

Such a decision, according to NABU, does not hold water and it does not seem to be “reasonable or in accordance with the legal terms.”

The decision means that judges who might themselves be accused of corruption would have the final say in corruption cases rather than anti-corruption officials, according to NABU.

Therefore the court’s conclusions about “the alleged violation of the independence of judges under the current legislation on the prevention of corruption are unfounded.”

Andrii Borovyk, the executive director of Transparency International (TI) Ukraine, said, “The decision of the Constitutional Court will lead to a significant rollback in Ukraine’s anti-corruption reform. These legislative provisions were the cornerstones of the anti-corruption system, while corruption has been recognized as one of the threats to national security … thousands of officials will remain unpunished for lying in (wealth) declarations.”

The Constitutional Court’s decision may also lead to a number of critical changes, TI warned, such as threatening the visa liberalization regime and the next tranche from the International Monetary Fund, which is essential for Ukraine’s survival.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he would initiate legislation “to restore stable and most effective operation of the e-declaration system and unavoidable punishment for deliberate violation of these rules,” but the court responded to that too, saying that “any influence on a judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine shall be prohibited.”
