Reggie Middleton, BoomBustBlog, Veritaseum and the SEC

This is NOT and endorsement and I own NONE of this-it's a DeFi product (but not really what they all call it now) so please do your own research on this and the person involved. The guy that invented this, Reggie Middleton (product mentioned below) was all over the Banking shit years ago and got crucified by the system. His research is very solid and it's not an emotional train-wreck like a lot of the stuff that the short sellers produce. Remember No one is an angel is this world so please do your own research

I used to read his blog a lot back in the day BoomBustBlog and he got a lot right and early.

See that here https://boombustblog.com/

Mr. Middleton put out a ton of stuff on Derivatives early on and it's problems way before anyone else did and the Bankers' Trust sale to DB that I have mentioned many times-(Jerry Powell was instrumental in loading up Banker's Trust when the derivative markets exploded and there is a reason why he is the FRB chair right now-it has a lot to do with that-Godzilla and Mecha-Godzilla brought up Bankers Trust in the discussion about the Gold Act of 1900 and Market Crash of 1907 here: >>140771, >>140772, >>140774 Mkt Fag, Godzilla and Mecha-Godzilla present: The Gold Act of 1900 and the Market Crash of 1907-setting the stage for the creation of the Federal Reserve Specifically the source material that references how a huge competitor to Banker's Trust (Knickbocker Trust owner 'suicided') was removed.

Reggie Middleton: Derivative Markets will Hit U.S. Banks, There is No Way Out

https://www.larsschall.com/2012/02/06/reggie-middleton-derivative-markets-will-hit-u-s-banks-there-is-no-way-out/

Noes a little on this product that was stopped by the SEC a few years ago but they allow it to be used by many other Co's-see below. It is called Veritaseum and is basically a token that powers peer to peer transactions that side-steps the banks and brokers (so they did not want that at all). He owns a patent on this system and is was stolen by several DeFi co's and the ones who employed huge amounts of leverage that are having that come back to bite them in the ass right now (coincidentally some of the ones that are having some issues-one of the Hedge funds here yesterday ) >>141032 Court orders liquidation of crypto hedge fund Three Arrows and click on the bottom link-a lot of those Co's have infringed on this guy's patent yet the "regulators" are schtum as usual. He went to the SEC and showed all of this to them and they said "that's great!" played along with him like they were gonna be frenly and he even signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the Jamaican Stock Exchange https://veritas.veritaseum.com/index.php/24-veritaseum-signs-mou-with-jamaica-stock-exchange-for-jv-on-digital-asset-exchange

He started selling tokens/ICO's through this product and all seemed to be "ok" and there wasn't anything really wrong with this when you compare it to what other Co's/People who have offered tokens-they din't even have a fuckin' product let alone any type of bizz model -remember all those celebrities that did those? Where was the SEC then? Nowhere.

Because no one else wanted to piss of the system and you have to start somewhere and this was the trigger that set off the SEC having kittens (The MOU mentioned above) and they then decided-after knowing exactly what this was to call if a fraud-no one is perfect and I don't claim to know the heavy tech side of all of this but I do know that they were very cooperative with him when he initially showed this to them originally-as mentioned he was granted patents for all this so obviously he was doing something right because many DeFI companies have stolen this and use it to power their system(s).

But of course the most useless regulatory body that ever existed decided that the original idea (that the rest of them continue to operate with even today) was a fraud and they even froze his personal assets too.

SEC Obtains Freeze of $8 Million in Assets in Alleged Fraudulent Token Offering and Manipulation Scheme

The Securities and Exchange Commission announced fraud charges against a Brooklyn individual and two entities under his control who allegedly engaged in a fraudulent scheme to sell digital securities to investors and to manipulate the market for those securities. On Aug. 12, 2019, the court entered an emergency freeze to preserve at least $8 million of the $14.8 million the defendants raised in 2017 and 2018 in an offering of digital securities. The SEC filed charges against Reginald “Reggie” Middleton, a self-described “financial guru,” and two entities he controls, Veritaseum, Inc. and Veritaseum, LLC (collectively Veritaseum). The Commission’s complaint, filed in federal court in Brooklyn, New York, alleges that the Defendants marketed and sold securities called “VERI” tokens on the internet, inducing retail investors to invest based on multiple material misrepresentations and omissions.

moar

https://www.sec.gov/news/press-release/2019-150

They "settled" they issue of the ICO and he probably was a little early in shoving that out (and made it easy for them, SEC) to attack it but I don't see much, if any difference than these other companies that basically operate using this guy's patent. That the SEC used terms like "defraud" and "victims of Defendants' fraud" are pretty rich when you consider what they allow to go on.

Veritaseum agrees to pay back $8 million to ICO investors as part of SEC settlement

Reggie Middleton Explains Veritaseum

https://www.investitin.com/interview-reggie-middleton-veritaseum/

There are a few vids towards the bottom of this linky that explains what this is and why something else is needed becasue of the manupulation of the entire system-again I am NOT endorsing this but please take some time and check it out as a lot of it made sense to me at the time and then I sorta lost track of this as that thing called Life got in the way-just remember one thing...if the SEC is against it it's probably good But not in all instances of course

Here is his Twatter account and currently in the process of exposing Circle App's IPO and pretty damn dasting imo as in just for starters it looks like Circle App's yield is provided by BTC-can't make this shit up

Australian bank Volt collapses urging 6000 customers to withdraw funds

An Australian bank that collapsed has urged its 6000 customers to withdraw $100 million worth of deposits before it starts closing accounts from next Tuesday. Volt, a digital bank called a neobank which was launched in 2017, announced it was handing back its banking licence to the regulator on Wednesday.

It was the first start up to gain the banking licence in January 2019 after the government sought to increase competition in the sector.

The bank’s demise means 140 staff have lost their jobs after the board made the decision to close the business. It said it failed to raise enough funds to support its plans to write mortgages. Volt chief executive Steve Weston described its closure as an “incredibly sad day”. “We’ve built something as a team that Australia really needs to bring banking competition to the market. We’ve got technology and capability that simply doesn’t exist in Australia today,” he said. “But for us to take that to a public launch, we need petrol in the car and by petrol we need capital. And in the current market, being able to raise the amount of capital that we needed to be able to scale up was a task that we couldn’t accomplish.” He added as a bank it needed a lot more funding than a normal businesses and that “was the challenge that we were unable to overcome”. Volt had been seeking to raise $200 million since February, but said the pandemic and the current challenging global economic climate had hampered those efforts.

It had previously raised $212 million over seven private rounds since its inception. Most of Volt’s website has been closed down leaving just a statement and a list of answers to questions.

It said it had adequate funds to return customer’s money and to ease the transition of money to a different bank account quickly Volt had increased the daily transfer limits to $250,000, it told customers. “Volt has taken steps to reduce all expenses and staff numbers, other than those required to support the orderly return of deposits and pursue a realisation of the value of our remaining assets,” it added. Australia’s financial safety regulator, APRA said it will closely monitor the process to ensure funds are returned to Volt customers in an orderly and timely manner.

Key Fed GDP tracker turns negative, signaling recession is here

The Atlanta Fed's GDPNow model estimates -1.0% growth for Q2. The Federal Reserve's key real-time model for tracking U.S. economic activity has turned negative, signaling that the nation could already have entered a recession.

The GDPNow gauge, a widely watched measurement from the Atlanta Federal Reserve Bank, indicated Thursday that real gross domestic product shrank by 1.0% in the second quarter from April through June.

While the official advance estimate of Q2 performance will not be released for another month, this preliminary reading shows the second quarter in a row of negative growth in the economy after GDP contracted 1.6% in Q1. If further readings confirm that the economy did, indeed, shrink in Q2, the technical criteria for a recession – which is defined by two consecutive quarters of negative growth – will be met. However, the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) is the authority that makes the official determination. Economists expect some economic slowdown from the interest rate hikes that the Fed implemented as it attempts to rein in inflation, which hit a four-decade high in May. The GDPNow tracker already signaled earlier this month that the economy was headed for imminent recession, when it showed two weeks ago that economic growth in the spring fell flat to 0%.

Hey!! his calculator actually works now!'

So they want to get this market 'hiccup' out of the way before elections-so they have all this 'negative' shit now and then clear it up going into the 3Q close and "poof"! all better

They have even admitted they are going to lower rates starting in 2023 now-and they were totally denying that but they knew all of it in February of this year.

I truly can't remember when derivatives started in the financial sector but later I member the banks started using it heavily in order to make their books look guud, as they were writing bad loans off and using "other instruments" to prop their "value"

I do remember a horn blower on derivatives but what decade I don't and not the deets either, had to be early 2000's mabbe, was med by then and paying half attention to acct fuckery of the system

also remember was in school in late 70's and on so stock options as hedge was fairly new and arbitrage did not depend so much on manipulation as instability of dollar off bretton woods wasn't big or so it seemed, Keating 5 was a wake up call in early 80's but not heeded as should be

The Parental Rights in Education law will force teachers to remove blatant LGBT propaganda from their classrooms as the law is set to take effect Friday.

According to reports, Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) announced it will “impose strict restrictions on classroom behavior” in order to abide by the Parental Rights in Education law. The law itself, which left-wing critics grossly mischaracterized, bars classroom discussions on sexual orientation and gender identity for children in kindergarten through third grade. The bill also makes it so that parents will be “notified about healthcare services offered at the school, with the right to decline any service offered,” and it ensures that “whenever a questionnaire or health screening is given to K-3 students, parents receive it first and provide permission for the school to administer the questionnaire or health screening to their child,” according to a press release on the measure from the governor’s office.

Critics falsely labeled the measure “Don’t Say Gay,” even though the bill does nothing of the sort, as it does not single out a single sexual orientation. Rather, it bars age-inappropriate discussions on gender identity and sexual orientation for children as young as five.

“These leftist politicians, corporate media outlets, some of these activist groups, they actually have read the bill, and they’re sloganeering because they don’t want to admit that they support a lot of the things we’re providing protections against,” DeSantis said in March, addressing critics of the bill.

“For example, they support sexualizing kids in kindergarten,” he said. “They support injecting woke gender ideology into second grade classrooms. They support enabling schools to ‘transition students’ to a ‘different gender’ without the knowledge of the parent, much less with the parent’s consent.”

“And so what they’re doing with these slogans and these narrative is they’re trying to camouflage their true intentions,” he added.

According to WFTV, Orange County teachers, under the new rules, will not be permitted to showcase LGBT propaganda such as rainbow clothing. Teachers will also be instructed to use a child’s birth pronouns, regardless of parental permission otherwise, and they must alert parents if a child “comes out.”

“In private, administrators-only seminars last week, OCPS attorneys advised principals what behaviors would and would not be legal under the law during a ‘Camp Legal’ presentation,” WFTV’s Nick Papantonis reported, adding that “safe space” stickers will likely have to be removed as well.

“Elementary-level teachers reported being discouraged from putting pictures of their same-sex spouse on their desk or talking about them to students,” the report reads, although an OCPS spokesperson said individuals were discussing hypothetical scenarios:

In Orange County, school staff report that they’ve been told to take down rainbow “safe space” stickers and LGBTQ elementary teachers have been told to remove pictures of their families from their desks.

Don’t Say LGBTQ goes into effect Friday. (1/4)https://t.co/eqJWVkt7Ps

“Once further guidance is received from the Florida Department of Education, the district will provide formal guidance to administrators and staff,” the spokesperson said.

Despite the narrative from left-wing critics, most likely voters support anti-groomer laws, such as Florida’s, a Federalist/Susquehanna taken in April found.

Watched some of this and when the statement of "cryptos are the savior" I gave it an additional 20 minutes or so.

Sorry 'Bitcoin Ben' although you may have the adoption part of what they want to do with CBDC correct (I agree with that-it will have a big adoption rate becasue they will most likely roll them out as SS payments and if you don't use them in a certain time frame they will erode in value by a certain % because they do not want you to have savings) but the "crypto's are the savior statement" simply because you believe they are not tied to the old system is simply and PATENTLY wrong.

They represent the old systems retention of control via a new method of currency-since the FRB can't print currency we technically already have a CBDC because all those 0's and 1's represented by the Reverse Repo process (documented since it started in 2020-I stopped counting shortly after it topped $1T a night and a total of $70T at that point and then picked it back up again earlier this year) and ALL the transfers that take place via the FRB's entire system are exactly that..they are just not tokenized.

The wheels were already coming off the system and in March we had Bear Stearns so....they love being early.

One must ask if they (cryptos) truly were separate from the current system why were they allowed to proliferate?

Colombia Raises Rates by 150 Basis Points in Test for Petro

Colombia’s central bank delivered its biggest interest rate increase in over two decades, potentially putting itself on a collision course with President-elect Gustavo Petro, though it signaled the pace may not be kept in future decisions.

The board unanimously raised rates by 150 basis points to 7.5%, Governor Leonardo Villar told reporters after a policy meeting Thursday. That’s the largest hike since the bank implemented its inflation-targeting strategy in 1999. The decision was correctly forecast by 15 of 24 economists in a Bloomberg survey, including those from JPMorgan Chase & Co and Credit Suisse Group AG. Barclays Plc and five other forecasters saw a full percentage point hike, while two expected a boost of 125 basis points, and one an increase of 75 basis points. Policy makers won’t necessarily raise borrowing costs by the same amount going forward, Finance Minister Jose Manuel Restrepo, who sits on the bank’s board, told reporters after the decision. In an accompanying statement, board members wrote that the pace of monetary policy adjustments will depend on available information.

This is the first rate decision since Petro won the presidency earlier this month. The peso has sold off since the June 19 vote, making imports even pricier, while financial markets remained concerned about the leftist leader’s plans to end new oil exploration and overhaul pensions. Colombian policy makers are bracing for another spike in annual inflation that’s already above 9%. Cost of living increases have been propelled by higher raw material prices and strong activity. Fuel will become more expensive in coming months as the government phases out subsidies.

You can tell they are panicking-these research pieces were released today by the NYFRB and although they do these releases from time-to-time these are particularly desperate along the lines of "if we don't act and fix this (only WE can) this will just get worse and since we have to justify our continued saying that we have a dual-mandate (completely impossible) here is some "expurt" research to show you how we are on top of this.

The probably paid big bucks for this too.

first one-I'll put in the first bit of each one-cap#1 is for this below

How Equitable Has the COVID Labor Market Recovery Been?

One of the two monetary policy goals of the Federal Reserve System— one-half of our dual mandate—is to aim for “maximum employment.” However, labor market outcomes are not monolithic, and different demographic and economic groups experience different labor market outcomes. In this post, we analyze heterogeneity in employment rates by race and ethnicity, focusing on the COVID-19 recession of March-April 2020 and its aftermath. We find that the demographic employment gaps temporarily increased during the onset of the pandemic but narrowed back by spring 2022 to close to where they were in 2019. In the second post of this series, we will focus on heterogeneity in inflation rates, the second part of our dual mandate.

We focus on the Employment to Population Ratio (EPOP) for prime-aged workers, as reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, as a measure of the state of the labor market for a given group. This is the ratio of the number of people aged 25 to 54 in each group who are employed (including self-employed) to the total number of people in that age bracket in that group. An alternative measure could be the unemployment rate; however, it captures only people who are not employed but are looking for work and misses people who currently have given up looking for work but may return to work when economic conditions improve.

moar

https://libertystreeteconomics.newyorkfed.org/2022/06/how-equitable-has-the-covid-labor-market-recovery-been/

Cap#2 for this below

Was the 2021-22 Rise in Inflation Equitable?

In our previous post, we discussed how the labor market recovery—the “maximum employment” half of the Federal Reserve System’s dual mandate—featured not only a return of overall employment rates to pre-pandemic levels, but also a narrowing of racial and ethnic gaps in employment rates. In this post, we take up the second half of the dual mandate—price stability—and discuss heterogeneity in inflation rates faced by different demographic groups during the rise in inflation in

2021-22. We find that, in contrast to inequalities in employment rates, disparities in inflation rates have widened during the recent inflationary episode, with less advantaged groups experiencing more inflation. While employment rates for racial and ethnic groups are tracked by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), there are no demographic-specific official measures of inflation rates. However, the BLS computes separate inflation indexes (consumer price indexes, or CPIs) for different categories of goods, such as food, clothing, energy, housing, or entertainment. The BLS also conducts a Consumer Expenditure Survey (CEX), which allows one to see how different demographic groups allocate their spending to these different categories. For example, as the 2019 CEX shows, Black Americans spend relatively more on transportation and housing and relatively less on food and entertainment than white Americans do. Using a procedure similar to several papers in the literature, we assume that prices within each goods category are the same for everyone and are well represented by the CPIs, but that different groups consume different amounts of goods from different categories.

Singapore Reprimands Three Arrows Capital for Providing Misleading Information

On Thursday, beleaguered crypto hedge fund Three Arrows Capital got a sharp warning from Singaporean regulators, who accused the crypto firm of supplying "false information" to the city-state about the way it handled certain parts of its business. The Monetary Authority of Singapore says the firm, which is technically based in Singapore, provided "misleading" information about its move to the British Virgin Islands last year.

This week, the company was forced by court order to liquidate in the British Virgin Islands, after facing a financial crisis in the wake of the collapse of algorithmic stablecoin TerraUSD and its failure to meet margin calls. The Singaporean regulator also rebuked the crypto firm for failing to apprise MAS of changes to its directors or shareholders in a timely manner. "In light of recent developments which call into question the solvency of the fund ... MAS is assessing if there were further breaches," MAS said. Earlier this month, the crypto firm was lambasted as an “old-fashioned Madoff-style Ponzi scheme" by research firm FSInsight and the crypto broker Voyager Digital sent a default notice to Three Arrows Capital on a loan of more than $665 million. “[They] recklessly borrow from just about every institutional lender in the business,” said Sean Farrell, head of digital asset strategy at FSInsight.

The liquidation process is being handled by The restructuring firm Teneo is currently identifying the value of 3AC's assets. It plans to launch a website soon to assist creditors wishing to recoup their losses.

Good Luck with that-I wonder what other leveraged shit they held and that would explain the early action today in the markets-at least early on as something certainly got sold and they spent the better part of the day trying to recover from that >>141149

Some damage control perhaps?

Asian Markets are down about 1-1.5% and our Futs are looking like there is gonna be some follow through on today's drop-cap #3

As mentioned already there certainly looked as if something was liquidated early on and it was in repair mode the entire rest of the day.
